MY FIRST VOICE CLAIM VIDEO!! MORE TO COME!! these are only the few sylvari i have stories for, i have a bunch im still thinking on. 

heavily inspired by @commander-soup so credit where it’s due for the format! a funny note is that for marwyd’s voice claim, i have never played that game specifically. so. this voice was something i found by just googling ‘southern video game characters’ LMAO. all the others are characters that i either adore or they really left an impact on me.

also i never video edited in my life so this was baby’s first attempt. i also have a version for my wife’s characters that i’ll be posting tomorrow!

HELLO okay, i'll try to talk about marwyd, which is hard! i always talk about that guy.

(screenie by @/zhenghuaz thank you bestie :3c) it's not that i don't ever think he'd say the words 'i love you', but he just. WON'T. say it. especially off the cuff. even in a familial or friendly sense. he absolutely adores his sister, yes, but he never really says it. marwyd is a guy who works through actions-- as he sorta is of the mind that it speaks louder than words. so instead of saying 'i love you' the guy is making a REALLY GREAT breakfast for you in the morning. won't say why. just tells you to eat it. instead of saying 'i love you' he's fighting shit to keep your home safe, and to keep you afloat. instead of saying 'i love you' he's taking hit after hit, tanking to no end-- and never, ever asks anything of return. if you want to pay him, he yells at you and gets mad.

i think he got the kindness squished out of him at a young age and well now it's just silent gestures instead of saying the part he wants to out loud. he's kind of a scared guy still deep in there.

one day he may say it. maybe.

get gyaeled. (ONCE AGAIN THANK U @/zhenghuaz) gyael is currently going through a divorce with my other character, wakeland, but it's not like he really WANTS to go through with it. i think she has a tough guy persona to keep up and well. if it means divorcing someone he really liked to keep the walls up then i guess by god that's what he's doing. she really isn't CRUEL, but she's definitely... not taken to most people not liking how outgoing and loud she is? so inherently that snowballs into him being cruel and well. the cycle continues. she has issues. but i don't think those issues are going to be tackled any time soon especially as marwyd's apprentice. they don't mesh. AT ALL. so it's just CONSTANT arguing from both sides. nor will marwyd ever understand what the HELL he's going on about. nor why he'd do the things that he does.

everything is going great in gyael's personality! everything is PEACHY!

tiyrnan -- sylvari

so he's kinda my unapologetic emo mary sue but i Love him dearly. long story short: firstborne who fell in love with trahearne as his apprentice but also had his heart smashed by him when trahearne chose marwyd over him. eventually became the champion of mordremoth out of pure rage and lost, is hellbent on killing marwyd at any cost. he's pretty much a dedicated marwyd assassin and will do anything to kill him. he's a harbringer in game so he specializes in some nasty alchemy and poison. great shot with a gun. incredibly secretive, never takes off a gas mask, and is NOT talkative.

gyael -- sylvari

best sniper the order of whispers had to offer (and wanted to get away. FAST.) he's marwyd's dedicated apprentice. if anything ever happens to marwyd, essentially he's trained to take up the mantle. he's incredibly incompetent at it though! he spends more time showboating, trying to hit up literally anyone to flirt with him, and would rather be a pop star than a world saving hero. marwyd is trying to beat it out of him but it ALWAYS causes problems. his existence is to be a pain in the ass. however he has issues of his own when it comes to his own identity and essentially being the type of dude who is like "well if people see me only as a hot piece of ass that's all that i'll be".

aiyndreas -- sylvari

head librarian of the priory and is the go-to guy for any information that may be needed. he's got photographic memory and can remember anything that's placed in front of him for about 4 seconds. he's an aspiring elementalist and looks up highly to @herrejorn 's niddhil. however THEY ARE COMPLETE opposites in personality. aiyndreas is a nervous wreck who can't get his shit together and wants to be a somebody rather than a sylvari who might die in the back of a library. he ends up travelling with marwyd for this reason but he often gets himself way in over his head and far too emotional about how much danger his friends get in. he's besties with gyael, and gyael protects him like a little brother with FERVOR.

antonymph -- charr

TRANSMASC SPARKLECHARR!! they're my epic cringe nae nae baby. antonymph is the nickname they chose. real names mean nothing to them. they're a proud gladium and refuse to join a warband, they don't like society, and they want to blast my chemical romance at you at 3 am. they were bullied to shit in the fahrar and have the scars to tell you about it, but that doesn't keep them down from being marwyd's go-to mesmer. most of the time they're drawing, writing, singing, and showing their love for life!! they may have a crush on a black metal singer charr engineer, but shhhhh... don't tell him that yet!! they want to make OCs about it first....

I HAVE A FEW OTHERS... namely caybre, penbrooke, and quinntyn (my newest and most ambitious guy). however they're still in rough drafting and concepting and i don't have quite the solid personality or stories for all of them. if you ask about quinntyn in a week or so though i should have something because im very motivated with him.

OHOHOHOH okay!! i'll give one for each. or i'll try. i don't have too many guys entirely fleshed out yet.

🖊 MARWYD -- has some weird insecurities about the whole scarlet briar thing. they're both really similar. both sylvari. both engineers. both prodigies in a way. yet only one thing really decided their fate was different and it was that damned machine. a part of him feels a little guilty for being able to walk out of it okay.

🖊 TIYRNAN -- his favorite thing to sing is lullabies. they fit his voice the best. he likes old folk ones the most, that seem to be lost with time, and who's meaning has been completely lost. sometimes when alone in the woods, you can hear a distant hum of an orrian lullaby.

🖊 GYAEL -- makes marwyd's clothes! all of them! he's made numerous on commission for him because marwyd keeps FUCKING RUINING THEM. luckily he doesn't have much to do when it comes to being his apprentice. sometimes he jokes that he's marwyd's tailor first and the apprentice second. he. may be a LITTLE insecure about that. maybe.

🖊 AIYNDREAS -- he wishes he was marwyd so bad. he looks up to him every other day. someone with a spine. someone with a bullheaded personality. someone who could toss people to the side with ease. he wishes he could be mean, but, he's far too small, far too nervous, and far too... unimportant, he realizes.

🖊 LONG XUE -- long makes carvings of soo-won out of thicker tree branches. he's very passionate about it. however-- he never keeps the carvings. he instead returns them to echovald forest and allows nature to grow around them. it's what she would want.

🖊 TU YING -- where did he get the glasses? i dunno. it's a mystery to even the speakers he works with. some of them say he popped out the POD with those things on. he BARELY EVER takes them off. apparently tetra knows where the hell they come from, but it's almost entertaining to keep it as a mystery. tu ying plays along with this.

hello it is time for the interplanar pot luck, what are your ocs brining?

OH BOY. OK. rubs my hands together.

marwyd: STUFFED PEPPERS! he loves them. he loves to share them. and he's VERY VERY good at cooking them. if anything, you'll find him at the potluck cooking MORE FOOD. he loves to cook, and he loves to share food. it's probably one of his only positive ways of showing affection considering he's pretty aggressive otherwise LOL. the peppers are extra spicy though, so watch out.

tiyrnan: clam chowder. probably from a can. he.... doesn't know how to cook well. if at all. i think he could burn about anything. not to the extent of burning cereal, but he doesn't really know how to make nice things. the clam chowder is edible though, just not good.

long xue: classic onigiri probably. something that everyone can eat, and they can add stuff to their pleasure. he's not bad at cooking either! though i have a feeling he'd never bring enough. probably only enough for like six people at the most.

penbrooke: BIG ASS SUB SANDWICH. like one of those party ones that are 12 feet long. probably got it from someone else, bought it, maybe stole it, no one's asking. so he's not telling. he didn't bother to cook it of course, knights don't need to know how to cook THAT badly. it's probably a BLT, knowing him.

AND FOR THE LAST ONE:

gyael: food? you expected him to bring food? no. you're treasured by his presence. you should like totaaaaaallly feed him grapes while he lounges dramatically in the sun and tells you about the time he accidentally broke a nail. oh, won't you PLEASE kiss it better? what? this is a POTLUCK not an ass-kissing convention? well tough shit it is now that he's here. now are you going to pass the liquor or is he going to have to get up and make a scene????
