The Darkening Sky - Chapter 53 - The End

It was the end of the war, and Joan was tired.

She could say that, now, where there wasn't anyone to hear her. They'd done a ten-miler today, hot on the heels of a seven mile pack march the day before. If she listened hard enough, she thought she could still make out the complaints from the replacements, drifting in from the courtyard outside, and the old hands roundly reminding them that war was hard, pain was temporary, and they'd be glad they'd had the practice when they were running to find a foxhole.

Temporary or not, her leg was still hurting, though not as much as it had been. The old wound from Carentan was being tested, and so far it was holding, but only time would really tell. She'd practically fallen into her bed the night before, thin lipped and sore, and Dick, tired himself, had wrapped himself around her and gently massaged the muscle until it was bearable once more. "You know you don't have to run these," he'd suggested softly, trying to be helpful as sleep started to come for the both of them.

The mere thought made her bristle with rage. Wound or no wound, her place was at the front, or she was no better than the men she despised. "What kind of leader sits them out?"

I'm pretty sure this mofo Finnegron (I'm not bothering remembering his name) is the one who kidnaps and beats Callum up so I hope Rayla whips his ass.

What if- WHAT IF. He asks her to fight in the arena again giving Callum in exchange for winning. She didn't win in the short story because she got discracted cuz Callum but maybe she will win now because he wants to save him! her weakness being her strenght now!

I doubt it will happen but It sounds angsty enough and I like it

Marble Hornets is a narrative haunted by both Amy and Jessica. So much of the series revolves around the mystery of what happened to them, and how they affected the characters behind the camera.

It's Amy that first shows us Alex does care and is affected by the actions he's taken.

It's Amy that unintentionally gets Jessica involved with the Operator and the others.

It's Jessica that first directly points out how strange Jay's behavior is, and who drives Jay forward to confronting Alex.

It's Amy's mention that allows Tim to finally gain the upper hand in his fight with Alex.

It's Jessica who closes Tim's part in the story, and who carries on the narrative in the comics.

Constantly in the latter two seasons we are left wondering where they are, who knows, and whether they are alright. For characters not given a lot of screen time due to the availability of their actors, so much of the story is driven by their involvement.

Can you show us how to draw the height differences for each of the Marble hornets characters? Some people draw time absolutely tiny compared to the rest and some people make him taller than jay and not much shorter than Brian, and I think it’s funny

I do draw Tim being tiny 😔🤝
