WILLIAM AND CATHERINE’S STAFF.
Some of you asked me to do a post about the staff working for William and Catherine. It is important to mention that these are the people I know who work for/with them and that this information is mainly taken from LinkedIn. As I mentioned before, getting pictures of some of them would be complicated. Usually, those who accompany them on their engagements are in the background, so it is difficult to get a clear enough picture of them. It goes without saying how difficult it is to get photos of the people who don't usually accompany them on their engagements, although I guess there won't be much interest in them. Below each section, there is a collage in the order they appear in the list, if the number of X person in the list is not in the collage it means that I couldn't find a picture of that person, I hope you understand.
WILLIAM:
Jean-Christophe Gray, Private Secretary
Genevieve McCarthy, Assistant Private Secretary
Louis Reynolds, Assistant Private Secretary
Laura Baker, Assistant Private Secretary
JC has a private assistant named Katherine Hawley.
Tumblr media
CATHERINE:
There is no confirmation yet, but the press has said that her new private secretary is named Alison Corfield.
Natalie Barrows, Assistant Private Secretary
Catherine's private secretary had a PA but she left in 2022, her name is Francesca.

 WILLIAM AND CATHERINE'S JOINT STAFF:
COMMUNICATIONS TEAM:
 Lee Thompson, Head Communications Secretary
Edwina Iddles, Deputy Communications Secretary
Adam Born, Senior Communications Officer
Rhea Vernon, Communications Officer
Annabelle M., Senior Communications Officer
Daisy Northway, Communications Secretary
Paul Rutland, Digital Communications Officer
Nathan Murphy, Personal Assistant to Communications Secretary and Communications Office Manager
A few months ago KP was looking for a Digital Lead, which was the position that David aka iPhone Guy had but so far I don't know who it is, I think it's safe to say that they did hire someone because, in the ad where they were looking for a digital content creator, they said that this person would work closely with the Digital Lead.

It's tradition to put art books at the end of my fic series because of me and my regular co-authors liking to have visual references in production, as well as a courtesy for people who want to do fanart or have trouble visualizing things. So when the time inevitably rolled around for a submas fic, it was time to give Ingo and Emmet the smallman art treatment. (For those who already read, we'll drop this into AO3 after the first book finishes!)
got into the two guys cus of P:LA but honestly stuck around for their B/W games and comics vibes? i unironically love how Loudly Autistic these guys act.
They script. The like trains. They have evolved past the need for facial/volume regulation. They have found one (1) interaction language and use it Everywhere, At All Possible Times. They'll tell you they're spying on you directly in your face. The closer you walk to them, the shittier their eye contact gets.
(also they look like living kermits lmao)

J.K. Rowling Says She’d ‘Happily’ Go to Prison to Fight Against Gender Pronoun Speech Control Laws: ‘Bring on the Court Case’
Tumblr media
The Harry Potter creator, 58, made her stand after it was revealed calling someone by the “wrong gender” could land British people two years in prison under a proposed Labour Party law, according to Mail on Sunday.
Vowing to toughen up the sentencing guidelines for abuse and violence targeted at trans people, the left-wing opposition party would make attacks motivated by hatred of the victim’s gender identity into “aggravated offences.”
Tumblr media
The London Trans Pride protest proceeds down Piccadilly on July 8, 2023 in London, England. This year is the fifth anniversary of Trans Pride march which hosts tens of thousands of trans rights activists, LGBTQ+ supporters and allies protesting for trans rights. (Guy Smallman/Getty Images)
According to the Mail report, this would bring transphobic abuse into line with assault and harassment motivated by hatred on the grounds of race or religion, which are punishable by up to two years in prison.
Rowling refused to have any of it.
“I’ll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex. Bring on the court case, I say. It’ll be more fun than I’ve ever had on a red carpet,” Rowling said on X – the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Tumblr media
Rowling has a long history of being steadfast in opposing “woke” opinions regarding transgender people, even dismissing concern she lost fans – and income – because of her controversial comments.
As Breitbart News reported, a U.S. museum has already erased any reference or items celebrating the Harry Potter author over her supposedly “super hateful” views on transgenderism.

The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) in Seattle, Washington has decided to take down all Harry Potter memorabilia referring to the author of the immensely popular book series.
Libraries in the UK have also been advised to bury books from authors like Rowling deemed to be “offensive” while prominently displaying works promoting far-left transgender ideology.

It's Hard to Talk About Classical Guitars
youtube
It's really hard to describe what these instruments sound like when you can't hear them in person.
Really, they all sound the same. They all look pretty much the same. When you record them, send them through an interface, digitally upload them and listen to them on a laptop or phone...how in the fuck can you get an idea of what these things sound like? Let alone feel like?
It's a box with strings. That's pretty much it. Luthiers over generations have eschewed moving outside this box, or really making any meaningful alterations to it...and what this has done has obscured the work of the greatest instrument makers in the guitar world.
Last month, I talked about my experience playing an Antionio Marin Montero guitar that cost $12,500. He's a 93 year old guy who's been making guitars for over SEVENTY YEARS. There was magic in this instrument that I can describe, but it does nothing to give you a sense of what it was like in person.
Lets break the EQ into 3 groups. The basses were fucking intense, robust, humongous...yet crystal clear without a hint of flubbiness. The mids were powerful, the projection akin to holding a 50 cal Desert Eagle after shooting a 9mm all morning. The trebles were silky smooth, buttery even, but they were never lost or lacked authority. The balance between each EQ class was perfection. Nothing overwhelmed another. I could go from whisper quiet to full-throated roar in an instant simply by thinking about it.
It was the Platonic ideal of what a guitar should be, made by a guy who apprenticed amongst luthier royalty over his septagenarian career. It was so Spanish, you could smell the paella.
I played a Matthias Damman double top. This is a double top.
Tumblr media
As loud as the Montero was? This thing was preposterous to the point of being unnecessary (of course, I'm not a concert guitarist trying to fill a huge hall with no mic). You have mm-thin top, a honeycomb layer made out of this stuff called Nomex, and another mm-thin layer underneath.
Let me show you a picture of just how thin these luthiers can get this wood...keep in mind, this is not the most obvious impactful example I could've chosed...it was one that was kinda just normal.
Tumblr media
These tops are carved so preposterously thin, that if you put a light behind it, you can see through both tops and the Nomex layer. And this isn't just "carving wood thin"...these tops are the lifeblood of the entire instrument. They're tuned to specific pitches to accentuate harmonics and overtones. Those thin tops need to be robust enough to handle the highest tension strings manfuacturers make without buckling or compromising it's integrity.
You can't see any of this.
If you were in person, you could hear it unamplified down the street.
You can't see the bracing...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the top, you have an example of Robert Bouchet's bracing. Below is Daniel Friederich fan bracing (he experimented voluminously). The third pic is an Antonio Marin Montero. Below that is a Gregory Smallman lattice bracing. The last pic is an example of a variety of famous lutheirs' preferred styles.
Bouchet's two most prized pupils were Daniel Friederich and Antonio Marin Montero. You can see that, despite their mentorship, there's still differences in how these guys choose to brace their guitars.
What the brace does is impact how the top vibrates, and if the top is the guitar's lifeblood, then the bracing is it's DNA.
Lattice bracing allows luthiers to carve their tops even thinner (without going the double-top route), and project preposterously well. There are infinite ways to do this. Spainish style guitars typically have super-thin tops with heavier bracing. But that's not the only way...
Take the Germans.
I've talked a lot about how the Spanish-influenced guys carve tops super thin. The Germans, specifically Hermann Hauser I, took the opposite approach. Notice how thick the bracing is on the examples above...
Tumblr media
It's the opposite on this Hauser top. Hausers (and Germans) typically favor tops about 1mm thicker than their typical spanish counterparts...and that width is typically in the middle of the soundboard. But the big difference is they typically use much, much lighter, thinner bracing.
The thin bracing allows the top to vibrate more like a thinner top, while altering the EQ. While Spanish guitars are known for their incredible bass and chime-like trebles with rich overtones, German guitars are known for being perfectly balanced and extremely responsive to technical adjustments.
The genius of all these differences is, at the end of the day whether you have a Spanish, French or German guitar, if it was made by one of these luthiers (or their apprentices), it'll get the job fucking DONE.
It's just really hard to tell the difference unless you're there in person.
I really like Spanish guitars. I really like German guitars. I really like French guitars. They're all aesthetically different, have their own characteristics, and sonically versatile...and all this comes down to preference.
When I played the Montero, it beat the living shit out of every other guitar I tested...German, French, English or otherwise. His nephew's guitar...a guy in his 70's who has 50+ years of experience next to his uncle...was phenomenal, but I put the $11,500 guitar in the discard pile anyways.
The German and French models I played felt cold. They didn't vibrate against my body like the Montero, they didn't raise the hair on my arms and neck. Maybe they needed more breaking in, but the Montero certainly didn't.
I played a $16,500 used model from one of the world's great luthiers who's based in Canada. This woman really tries to push the envelope into modernity, makes incredible instruments, and her guitar came with a $2,000 carbon fiber flight case. Discard pile compared to the 90-year old Spainard's.
At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter where your guitar was built, it matters who built it and where they learned from. Spanish guitar god Andres Segovia played a ton of Spanish music on a Hauser to the point that guitar is a permanent exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
But what does matter is that these guys have been making guitars with a lineage that traces back centuries, with skills honed by decades of apprenticeship, and an acute eye for what the purpose of these things is. You're in good hands no matter if you're playing a Montero, a Hauser, a Friederich...or the modern masters that learned from them personally, or by tearing their guitars apart.
The point is, these guys make some incredible shit. And it's a bummer that they all look pretty much the same, they all sound the same thru shitty digital vehicles, and unless you're in the room, you don't realize just how crazy their shit is.

Justice, Equality, and Human Rights: A Pro-Palestine Perspective
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been a long and continuous issue that has left countless lives shattered and communities torn apart. For many, including myself, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their quest for justice and peace is not just a political stance; it's a matter of compassion, empathy, and a belief in the fundamental principles of human rights. In this blog post, I'd like to share my perspective as a pro-Palestine advocate and why I believe it is important to support the Palestinian cause.
My journey into understanding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict began with a curiosity to learn about the history of it. It soon became apparent that this conflict is incredibly complex, with deep-rooted historical grievances, religious views, and competing narratives. It's a conflict that has persisted for generations, and its resolution remains elusive.
Tumblr media
A photograph of pro-Palestine protest in London taken by Guy Smallman.
What struck me as I delved deeper into the subject was the immense suffering endured by the Palestinian people. From the displacement of more than 700,00 people in 1948 to the ongoing occupation of the West Bank, the blockade of Gaza, and the hardship faced by Palestinian refugees, their experience has been marked by persistent struggle.
The principle of autonomy is central to the Palestinian cause. Palestinians deserve the right to determine their own future, just as any other nation does. It is a fundamental human right in international law. For me, advocating for the right to autonomy is not a radical stance but a belief in the universality of human rights.
The ongoing occupation of the West Bank, the expansion of Israeli settlements, and the restrictions on Palestinian movement are issues that deeply concern me. It is essential to recognize that this occupation not only affects the Palestinian territories but also the Israeli society, as it perpetuates a cycle of conflict and insecurity. Peace and security can only be achieved when the rights and dignity of all parties involved are respected.
Tumblr media
A photograph depicting a poster which call for the end of Israel's war crimes in Gaza taken by David Cliff.
The situation in Gaza, often described as an open-air prison due to the severe blockade, is another disturbing aspect of the conflict. The humanitarian crisis that has unfolded in Gaza, including issues of access to clean water, medical care, food, and education, highlights the urgent need for a resolution to the conflict. The people of Gaza, who have endured repeated bombings and suffering for years, deserve a life of dignity and hope.
Supporting the Palestinian cause is not synonymous with opposing the Jewish people. In fact, many Jewish people, including many Israelis themselves, are actively working for a just and peaceful resolution to the conflict, and their voices should be acknowledged and supported. Just as I stand with the Palestinian people, I also support Israelis who advocate for an end to the occupation and a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that respects the rights and dignity of both Israelis and Palestinians.
Tumblr media
Photograph of a Jewish peace activists showing a protest he attended taken by Jessica Le Masurier
The international community, including the United Nations, has called for various paths toward resolution, but the emphasis should be on recognizing and addressing the concerns of both parties and finding a way for coexistence that ensures the safety and well-being of all involved.
In conclusion, my pro-Palestine perspective is rooted in a deep belief in the principles of justice, equality, and human rights. It is a call for empathy and compassion for the Palestinian people who have suffered for far too long. It is a plea for a peaceful and just resolution to the conflict that acknowledges the rights of Palestinians.

Protesters say refugees and migrants are welcome on UN anti-racism day (picture: Guy Smallman)
Tory and Labour leaders might argue over migration, but they are united in making racist arguments for keeping Britain’s borders closed.  Official figures for net migration last year—set to be released this week—were expected to reach an all-time high.
That’s not a problem. Migrants don’t raise prices or cut jobs. They don’t wreck the NHS. In fact the health service depends on migrants. But the Tories will use the figures to ramp up racism.
Under pressure from business, the Tories are split over whether they should further shut the borders or give out more visas. We couldn’t know whether the Tories would band together or continue to rip themselves apart.
But given the convenient timing of the revelations about home secretary Suella Braverman’s speeding offences, she might be the one to take the hit. The Labour Party is also spinning in circles while trying to work out its line on immigration. More overseas workers but less migration seems to be its bizarre goal.
Leader Keir Starmer said that his “direction of travel” would be for migration to come down. He explained he “would expect” net migration to drop below 500,000—the figure for last July.
“But I’m not going to put a number on it,” he said. “I would like and want to see the number coming down”. For Starmer that reduction “would be more” than a few thousand people. Starmer did add that migration figures “will depend” on getting a skills agenda sorted and building up the NHS workforce.
That’s despite previous comments about building the health service with non-foreign workers. Meanwhile shadow equalities minister Anneliese Dodds said Labour could push immigration even higher in the short term to bring workers in with the “right” skills.
But shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves said Labour “wouldn’t turn to immigration as the easy answer” for shortages.
In an eerily similar stance to Braverman, Reeves wants to see “people who are already in Britain being trained up” to fill the gaps. “There are many people who are not in work with the right support, could get into work,” she thinks. The Tories took power under Boris Johnson’s manifesto pledge to reduce net migration.
At the time, that figure was 271,000. With net migration at 500,000 by July last year, and the expectation of it being more than 700,000 by December, Starmer will jeer at the Tories.
But even within his own party, how to fill workforce shortages, whether to reduce migration and the best plan of action for Britain’s borders is contested. Either way, socialists must resist the racism rooted in these debates, which plays a role for our rulers. We say open the borders—let in every migrant and refugee.

hello mx. smallman! (i think thats how i should i refer to you? sorry if im wrong) but i just wanted to tell you how absolutely grateful i am and inspiring all of your writing has been to me.
its truly the stuff of legends.
as most do, i started with orp (despite not being in the dsmp fandom) because my friend recommended it to me. i Loved It. i have my criticisms (mostly pertaining to how the weakest parts are the parts not rewritten / taken from streams beat for beat) but overall i LOVED IT. my personal favorites have to be (and im sorry if i forgot the names, im not gonna check right now) the Fable of Endlantis, Where the Water Meets Wine, and the Cornelius one.
starved for more, i ended up checking out the PLA stories (which have been good), FADIAMT (which has been AMAZING) and Stars, Eyes of Heaven (which had been very cute).
It was actually Stars, Eyes of Heaven that finally got me to write this message.
Its astounding how much your writing has changed me (orp mostly, fadiamt to a lesser extent). it had made me try to be kinder and more patient in my life, and try to be a better person. overall, your depiction of various conditions and how even if people have them, they arent less human, that has gotten me to tears.
i love how even though the stories are generally similar in concept (God-esque Former Mortal having a condition that makes them different and how they interact with others because of it. (i know ingo isnt there yet, but he's gonna get there isn't he?)) theyre all so vastly different in their journeys and how touching and interesting they are.
it boggles the mind, truly.
i think that's all for now, unless i get some more words that i could sling at you in a different ask.
thank you very much for doing what youre doing and im hoping the best for you in the future! dont sweat it though, im sure ill love it.
(im gonna check out the newer stories in a bit, gotta catch up with the old crow guy after all!)
bye and again, thank you.
the condition is humanity. the condition is being alive. the condition is we must be alive. isn't that horrible? isn't that wonderful?
(isn't that worth living.)
