Just wanted to pop into ur askbox to say thanks for the great ace rep in Orphan's Path. It's rare to find well written qpp stuff and it's awesome to see an experience that mirrors my own.

Even in the little things like ppl frustratingly not believing we aren't dating or the fact it doesn't map onto a traditional familial structure or even just the love that's there :)

The series in general is really well written and I think ye incorporated the different canons into a really cool and cohesive storyline. I totally understand that ye want to distance yourselves from it but I just wanted to let ye know the joy its given me and the assurance it has given me in my own ace experience !!

-will fall on a saturday or sunday depending on your timezone, and it's going to be Very Very Long so that as many people have a chance to hop in as possible

-for those who aren't regulars at my streams, we use pngtubers

-i can't guarantee the other authors will be there, but if they're willing, they'll at least be in chat, cus we're all online friends and they watch my streams. keep in mind you'll be hearing my personal answers on everything first and foremost, so the authors may correct or contradict stuff i say and that's fine! it happens! me me stupid!

-we'll try to keep things happy overall, but obviously we may end up talking about things like techno's death and the unfortunate stuff that's happened through the series history. the loading screen will have an explanation for anyone who walks in without context.

-for my followers who have no current interest in orphan's path, this is still a stream! we'll be crawling through my steam library playing different games, including ones with steam co-op, so people on my discord with steam can join in among us or shredder's revenge games if they want. you can also send donos through my ko-fi if you Feel Like sending TTS messages.

hiya, as always, thank you for everything about Orp. I wish the authors team the absolute best in all their endeavors and thank them for touching my heart with their storytelling. ofc please dont feel any pressure to answer my question, but at any time would the authors accept questions about what was once planned for orp? specifically, i really really love the character of Lagos and have a lot of curiosity about his backstory and the trajectory of things with him, especially as i am always rereading Stronghold Story. totally understand if not, i shall hold the silly rabbit in my mind regardless. thanks again!

enough people have asked similar questions that i am thinking of doing a QnA stream after fixing the image situation where I field the final round of questions over a game, spoilers and all. i can't say how light or heavy the discussion would be, and i won't be able to remember absolutely everything that was planned, but we did have an actual ending and even sequel series in mind. I'll try to announce it at least a week or two in advance and it'll probably be a longer than normal stream doing a lot of things just to let as many time zones get a word in as possible.

Hi there, I don’t send asks very often but I felt compelled to send you a very heartfelt thank you to you and your team. I’m ultimately saddened to hear about the fact that ORP will be left unfinished - I completely understand you and the teams reasons to leave it as is - but I will grieve it as one of the best told and most beautiful pieces of writing I have ever read. I looked forward to seeing how you all brought the remainder of that tale - the red banquet, Las Nevadas, the prison - to life. But I think the best thing I can do now is tell you how much I appreciated all your hard work and how profoundly the writing and the themes impacted me and my own work. It was the fic I read when Techno died - and I was trying to figure out how to grieve. I’m grateful you’re leaving it up as a monument and a memory, since it is in so many ways a story about Techno and Phil at the end of the day. And I like to imagine their characters are off somewhere - retired and happy. As a long term Minecraft fan, this fic changed me as a person. I have never read something that understood the spirit of the game better. Thank you! Thank you. And the universe said I love you. And the universe said you are not alone. And the universe said I love you because you are love.

techno's death made it hard to really let this series go, but at the end of the day, i think it deserves to rest. i'm glad to hear how many people were genuinely touched by this series through everything that was happening.

orphan's path was lightning in a bottle, for better and worse. maybe we'll never make something so boundless again.

most all of my works have an active link to the discord at the ends of books, so go to the end of any orp entry and you should find it there! since we're currently working on another series, you won't see a lot of recent talk about orphan's path, but the old crowd is still there and you're allowed to spark the discussion again at any time. the server is a place for a fan of any of my works.

I may have already asked this question or convinced myself I had, but in light of recent events I wanted to make sure. As a DnD fan I had years ago the idea of a campaing with the orp worldbuilding. Of course it would be a completely different story and the characters would also change, save for the pantheons. Would that be an okay thing to do? If not that's understandable.

Heyo!! I was curious, is there a typeset version of Orphan’s path, and if not, would it be alright if I typeset and bound the books, and if yes, would you be interested in having said typeset pdf or possibly a copy of the books if things get that far along, and would it be ok if I shared that with a wider audience? I know the moral stuff around printing and binding fanfic is a bit Iffy all things considered, and I also know that the project has been recently killed for Reasons, so I figured it’d be courteous to ask :)

it's come up in my faq already, but yes- anyone is allowed to download, typeset, or physically bind my writing for personal collection or gifts to others as long as it is not being sold. i'd have to set up a PO box in order to accept a physical copy myself, but i'm not against it! i've simply never set something up like this before because it's never come up.

Thank you for writing Orphan's Path. As a queerplatonic person I really enjoy Queerplatonic emerald duo. I also enjoy it in many ways in general and it's in general one of my favorite series that have ever been made. It's truly a piece of art and I look forward to other things you write.

I know Images in the Orphan's Path series are broken because of the whole thing with discord canceling hosted images. I downloaded the entirety of Orphan's Path way before that and I was wondering If I had permission to upload Orphan's Path as one big combined PDF onto the internet archive? Since the images in this PDF aren't broken like they are on archive.org

we'll be working on moving the original images to here as a new file host (i might make a new sideblog for it), but you're still free to put it on the internet archive for archival purposes as long as you include the updated series note on the current situation. we'd like for you to give us a link so we can share the resulting file as well.

my only concern would be the loss of alt text for the images, so ideally put some kind of index for the alt text in the document, but that's not something we demand of you since this is entirely volunteered on your end. we're very touched that you want to take the steps to preserve this work in this way.

years later on my probably 8th reread, thank you (and the whole team) for writing Orphans Path. it really helped us figure some stuff out with being a system ourselves and continues to be wonderful and affirming to reread. thank you so much for this entire series from all of us <3

writing about fantastical situations like phil and beni actually led me to learn a lot about systems and disabled experience in a way i probably wouldn't have found out if i'd never done it. the way people related to them gives me a new appreciation for the real life persons who see themselves in this, so in a sense i've learned from all of you as well.

aye lads, orphan's path is officially and functionally biting the dirt.

we're not deleting it. ultimately, my feeling is that reducing the hard work of everyone around wilbur to simply the accessory of a serial abuser would be a shit thing to do. but he was a central writer and played a central character, so we can't in good conscience continue the story. the author team has floated the idea of writing an epilogue for phil and techno's characters, but that's a fat maybe.

for now, we're done. the series is an archive of a different story and a different time. we've put a note about it in the main series page and the installments that feature wilbur's characters, as well as a link to domestic violence resources in the UK.

on a side note, i've been made aware that discord doesn't let you embed their images on external sites anymore, which has broken the extraneous guides on our ao3. I'll either post the images here, or have to delete the companion guides and direct people to the discord where these images are freely available to view.

Hellooo, I recently went to look at the fanart for FADIAMT on ao3 and I realized it’s all deleted. Is there anywhere I can find it, or is it deleted forever?

(Also I just want to say I love your art style!)

we've actually gotten multiple asks and comments about this problem.

problem is, we didn't delete anything!

ao3 doesn't allow images to be posted directly- they have to be input as a URL. for the entire history of my account, i've used discord to generate image URLs so that I can post things on AO3. it looks like (either on AO3 or Discord's end) this process has broken in some way, getting rid of our images on AO3 and leaving behind their alt text. That sucks! If I can't find a way to fix it, I'll probably post whatever images I can on here to generate URLs that way, or see if ao3 has changed and allows direct image posting.

The images themselves, however, are not gone! if you join our discord you'll be able to find them because most all of them were on publically viewable channels.

I wanted to send some positive kindness to you, since the situation is shitty and rough and we all deserve something kind in this time.

So to you and all your authors, I want to say that I adore Orphan's Path. Good gods, the themes get to me every single time, and the emotion strung in each arc, in each story, each sentence, stars, what skill to see in action. I wish I had found it sooner, so I could've experienced the excitement of notifications when you update--don't misunderstand, I'm willing to wait and I'm not trying to pressure you, that's just one of my favorite feelings.

And can we talk about the art that goes along with the fics? I ADORE it! I can't find pretty words to describe it, but something about the art just scratches the brain just right and makes me so incredibly happy.

I can easily say your writing has inspired me over and over. I was in a writing slump (college will do that, eat up all time) and Orphan's Path is something that got me started writing again.

I know you've been through a lot, Aenor. And you haven't even told us the half of it, I'm sure! I just hope your mental health is holding steady, and that you and yours are surrounded by support and comfort.

the orphan's path team was aware of the shubble situation when she first mentioned it on her stream, and we addressed it on discord originally citing a lack of confirmation or resolution from enough parties. we wanted to see if there were more victims, if wilbur or someone else would be definitively named by shubble/himself/a source in their circle, and the possibility wilbur would be genuinely regretful of his actions as he has in the past.

wilbur and shubble have now explicitly confirmed him as shubble's abuser from last year. she and their friends do not accept his apology or how he continues to behave to other people. as such, I'm removing all instances of Lovejoy from my official playlists and the author team of orphan's path is discussing what to do going forward.

it's really disappointing to hear about this. more than one member of the author team, including myself, is a survivor of domestic abuse in some form. the experience of what has happened to the spirit of orphan's path due to the original creators is. it sours my trust for the smp/rp genre as a whole. orphan's path will, in all likelihood, remain the first and last mcyt fan creation I put my hands on.

obviously the word count alone can tell you how meaningful this work was to us for literal years. we held it and its readers in such high esteem we rewrote it twice trying to save it, but we cannot simply scrub the name of the man who so centrally wrote so much of the original story. we want to take time to find a solution that first and foremost respects wilbur's victims. thank you for your patience. we are so, so sorry that we must ask you for patience.

In mine and many other east Asian cultures, the dragon traditionally symbolises things like power, wealth and strength (imperial symbol and all)

I think we often forget that in the story of the Great Race, the dragon came in fifth because it'd stopped to give people rain. Then it'd stopped again to push a rabbit adrift on a log across the wide river so it reached the shore safely (that's why the Rabbit year comes before the Dragon).

Dragons aren't meant to just be powerful - they are meant to do good with such power, and to help those in need.

So in this lunar new year, I hope you gain more power, so that you might be able to help others. I pray you have abundant resources so you may give to yourself and those around you. I wish you courage, endurance, kindness and generosity, for yourself and your people.

I hope you, and I, will be rain givers, life preservers, joy bringers.

I hope we will be dragons.
