aye lads, orphan's path is officially and functionally biting the dirt.

we're not deleting it. ultimately, my feeling is that reducing the hard work of everyone around wilbur to simply the accessory of a serial abuser would be a shit thing to do. but he was a central writer and played a central character, so we can't in good conscience continue the story. the author team has floated the idea of writing an epilogue for phil and techno's characters, but that's a fat maybe.

for now, we're done. the series is an archive of a different story and a different time. we've put a note about it in the main series page and the installments that feature wilbur's characters, as well as a link to domestic violence resources in the UK.

on a side note, i've been made aware that discord doesn't let you embed their images on external sites anymore, which has broken the extraneous guides on our ao3. I'll either post the images here, or have to delete the companion guides and direct people to the discord where these images are freely available to view.

I know that you usually make the ramblings but I think that this is something to look into- in the bad timeline, Leo loses his right arm (as he's wearing a robotic prosthetic), but it probably wouldn't be that hard of a switch because while he is right handed (holds mugs with his right hand, uses the odachi with his right hand etc) but when he's using the twin swords in the movies he shows off some ambidextrous tendencies.

Also to note on the Donnie fashion one, all of his genius brand apparel has the logo printed on it, meaning there probably no tags on the clothes he makes.

Yes, Leo is very talented! I believe he is absolutely ambidextrous.

And, Donnie is the type to put his logo on anything he makes, but he is so high strung about his babies that I wouldn’t be surprised if he put BOTH the logo and a tag on his clothing. (Probably with a TON of directions for washing. 😒) And and, thank you SO much! 💜 I believe the creators put their all into this show and didn’t get even HALF of the the kudos they deserved…

This is an alternate opening to the Rise movie. @5:19 Leo's right arm is torn to bits and you can see that it's all completely mechanical. That means that the crew did indeed intend for Leo's arm to be a prosthetic in the final version of the movie! Answers, answers everywhere. 😩😁 💜💜💜

the orphan's path team was aware of the shubble situation when she first mentioned it on her stream, and we addressed it on discord originally citing a lack of confirmation or resolution from enough parties. we wanted to see if there were more victims, if wilbur or someone else would be definitively named by shubble/himself/a source in their circle, and the possibility wilbur would be genuinely regretful of his actions as he has in the past.

wilbur and shubble have now explicitly confirmed him as shubble's abuser from last year. she and their friends do not accept his apology or how he continues to behave to other people. as such, I'm removing all instances of Lovejoy from my official playlists and the author team of orphan's path is discussing what to do going forward.

it's really disappointing to hear about this. more than one member of the author team, including myself, is a survivor of domestic abuse in some form. the experience of what has happened to the spirit of orphan's path due to the original creators is. it sours my trust for the smp/rp genre as a whole. orphan's path will, in all likelihood, remain the first and last mcyt fan creation I put my hands on.

obviously the word count alone can tell you how meaningful this work was to us for literal years. we held it and its readers in such high esteem we rewrote it twice trying to save it, but we cannot simply scrub the name of the man who so centrally wrote so much of the original story. we want to take time to find a solution that first and foremost respects wilbur's victims. thank you for your patience. we are so, so sorry that we must ask you for patience.

@aenor-llelo bird man be upon ye. Now I shall ramble. Anyway, since elytron are canonically descended from birds, I made em look sort of uncanny. Not quite human. I also got my grabby spec bio hands all over em hehe. Anyway, lemme explain my evolution headcanon. They evolved from therapods with a funky beak and a little horn nub. They had a symbiotic relationship with a type of beetle that would eat all the parasites on their body. Eventually, this beetle became completely dependent on its host. The proto-elytron adapted to life on the plains, eventually specializing in digging out termites from termite mounds. Their snouts became shorter and their tongues became longer so that they could stick there face flat to the mounds and stick out their tongues, rather than being hindered by big long snout. The proto-elytra became sedentary, eventually becoming an essential part of the mating display. Their fingers grew longer and more maneuverable to reach inside termite mounds, eventually becoming suited for tool building and usage. The feathers on the arms shrunk as the feathers and wings stemming from the elytra mating display grew, eventually becoming functional wings and allowing flight. Anyways, ramble over.

Ok about the insane in the mama train thing with Draxum, do you think it could be boys’ fear of disappointment? Like they did everything right and now they are cornered with Draxum. They are trying to stop the dark armor and save humanity, and they were so close! Also April was there and while she is fierce there’s not much she can do in the present situation.

Possibly! Although it could be that plus what @aenor-llelo responded with on the original ask.

Personally, I think there's so many emotions hitting them at once, in addition to that "killing intent," that they're just frozen in place.

Plus, this is the first time that April has ever been placed in a situation where she may be in real genuine danger of loosing her life and they would have failed to protect her. Draxum is a scary boi!
