RAIN CODE Fan Meeting Report ②

From after the reading play to around the middle of the daytime program.

There is already a report article on famitsu.com, so it may be easier to understand while looking at the photos on there.

Note: I wrote some related topics together and sequentially, so this post is not exactly the same as the actual order of topics in the event.

A short introduction of the guests and some of my personal impressions of each of them:

After the reading play by Fukuhara and Suzushiro, the other guests appeared on stage one by one. Most people introduced themselves normally, but Kodaka's greeting was the only quirky one:

He is probably the only person who would say something like that out of the blue at a fan event 😅

After that, a segment titled "Inquiries to the World Detective Organization" began, in which messages from fans were read out.

Apparently a lot of messages were supposed to be read during this segment, but a question to the VAs about their memories of the recording session took longer than expected and ended up being almost entirely about this topic.

As for Yuma's voice recording, Yuma was often panicked, frightened, and dismayed, and Fukuhara was repeatedly asked to make such performances more exaggerated. So he used the voice of a certain boy character as a reference. Then the MC immediately asked:

Japanese people can easily recognize it, but there are probably many who don't, so I'll make it clear. He meant the protagonist of Doraemon (JA: Nobita / EN: Noby)! XD

Doraemon itself has no relation to Spike Chunsoft, but since the voice actress of Danganronpa's signature character Monokuma is the voice actress of Doraemon, it is interesting to note that the protagonist of RAIN CODE is a reference to the voice of Doraemon's protagonist.

I will mention this in my future post about the evening program, but as those who have played RAIN CODE know, when Yuma and Shinigami say goodbye at the end of the story, Shinigami makes an emergency exit appear, and the design of the door is actually very similar to a tool that Doraemon often uses! So the developers must really like Doraemon... 😅

As for Shinigami, Suzushiro said that she remembered how long the audition process was. There were more auditions than usual, but she was only given vague requirements and told to perform different patterns, so she said she had no idea what the right voice was, but she gave it her all anyway. The reason for this, according to Kodaka, is that he paid special attention to the type of voice. He wanted to avoid sounding completely annoying, because Shinigami has a lot of terrible things to say to Yuma. So he was looking for a voice that could say horrible things without annoying the player.

By the way, around this topic Kodaka joked, "Since RAIN CODE is a detective story, we made sure to check everyone's backgrounds during the auditions." To which Suzushiro replied, "So that's what those people in the back were!" Then "Don't worry. The results of the investigation showed that everyone was innocent." He continued to joke.

However, she said that she still struggled to find the right voice for Shinigami after she passed the audition. She said that she had originally planned to change her voice between the spirit form and the true form. She was instructed not to be too mascot-like when playing the spirit form, but when she tried to change the voice, she couldn't help but sound like a mascot, so she ended up speaking the same way as the true form.

She also said that Shinigami talks a lot throughout the game, so she was careful not to make it annoying for the players.

The voice recording for Yuma and Shinigami took a very long time, almost two years. During that time, they recorded almost every week. According to Fukuhara, one of the reasons it took so long was that, Yuma often had to scream or cry, so the recording took a lot of energy, and he was always unable to record the target number of words for that day, which was often carried over to the next time. Then the voices recorded at the end were different from the ones recorded at the beginning, so they re-recorded the lines recorded at the beginning.

As for Halara, Ishikawa said that the most important feature of Halara's voice was that she had to have a neutral voice, and that she sometimes received instructions during the recording such as, "Now you sounded a little masculine, so let's take it back a little," or "Speak a little cooler".

Kodaka said that Halara's first person pronoun was "boku" (*generally used by males in Japanese) and his/her appearance was masculine, so he adjusted the impression by adding Yui Ishikawa's graceful voice to give it a feminine impression and make it more neutral.

(This is just my personal opinion, but Halara's appearance doesn't look that masculine...🤔 But I am sure Kodaka said something like that. Well, I guess he means that he/she is masculine because he/she is tall?)

As for Desuhiko, KENN said that he had originally imagined a slightly higher voice, but was instructed to speak more naturally and closer to his natural voice. Other than that, there were not much many re-recordings.

Kodaka and Sakakibara were asked by the MC about the feedback and reactions they received after the release of RAIN CODE, but Kodaka said that he had not received much feedback. (He seemed a bit hesitant to answer when asked, so I personally speculated that he might have had negative feedback in mind and then denied that he hadn't received much...but that's really a personal guess, so it might just be that he feels he hasn't received that much feedback compared to Danganronpa).

When Sakakibara mentioned sales, Kodaka interupted in like this:

Well, maybe the above does not convey the nuance well. I think if I replace "Kodaka" with "Shinigami," it would make more sense:

haha 😂 Sakakibara was just talking about sales, but Kodaka seemed to be making fun of him, like, "See, producers are quick to want to talk about money!" (This itself is not an actual statement. But the statement in the image above, "It's all about money, after all. Producers are money hungry (結局は金なんですよ、金。プロデューサーは金の亡者だからね)," is true.)

Kodaka was obviously rude, but Sakakibara did not seem to care. (Perhaps Kodaka is usually like this 😅)

Then when the topic of sequels and future developments came up:

I don't think it was just because Kodaka pushed him, but Sakakibara told us that he would like to make a sequel or an anime :)

The next segment, "Collect Memory Shards of Master Detectives!", looked back at some scenes from the game.

The first scene that was discussed was the one where Halara kicks open a gate in chapter 1. This is the scene where Halara says it is open, even though he/she kicked it down him/herself. When Ishikawa said that she did not expect the scene to turn out like this when she recorded the audio, Kodaka said that the audio for that scene was actually recorded first and the video was made later. According to him, RAIN CODE has many scenes where the video was adjusted to match the audio in this way. I think this was from him talking about when they had a meeting for the promotion, he said that the scene where Halara kicks open the gate was well received when he showed it to people overseas. (Yeah, it's a funny scene for everyone XD)

------ The next scene was Yuma's disguise in chapter 2. Fukuhara was asked to comment on a message from a fan who said Yuma in disguise was so cute:

Fukuhara said that he had noticed that Yuma was rather originally cute, and then Kodaka said that he had actually initially worn more makeup to emphasize that it was a comedy scene. However, when Komatsuzaki checked the sprites on the actual machine, he said that it might be better to make Yuma just normally cute, and then he modified the sprites. Kodaka commented that he thinks that decision by Komatsuzaki worked.

The next scene was when Desuhiko was rejected by Shinigami at the end of the Mystery Labyrinth in chapter 2. In a message from a fan who wanted to know Desuhiko's success rate in picking up girls, and when the topic came up, Kodaka replied, "Zero. But he makes all kinds of excuses for himself, and in his mind they are not supposed to have happened." KENN said, "Uh, so he does mind control, right?" Kodaka agreed and said, "Yes, yes."

By the way, it was funny to hear Ishikawa say "It's cool" in a low voice, perhaps in response to the sound of the word "mind control" here. (To which KENN replied, "Is it cool?" 😂):

Then, the scene in chapter 5 where the fact that the meat buns were human flesh was revealed was discussed.

The VAs knew from the script that the meat buns sold in the Kanai Ward were made of human flesh, so they had mixed feelings when they saw the in-game tips about the meat buns.

As for Fukuhara, he somehow said that he had dared Yuma to eat meat buns many times, apologizing over and over again in his mind. (This part of the topic was rather fast-moving, so I did not understand the reason why he did so 😅)

According to Kodaka, in his mind, Yuma was never supposed to eat the meat buns. But before he knew it, Yuma was able to eat the meat buns in the game, and he thought, "Huh?...Oh well." lol

When asked by the MC when he first came up with the idea for the human meat buns, Kodaka replied that it had been there from the very beginning, and that he had recently sorted through his file and found the minutes of a meeting with the former producer in which it was noted that this idea might not be favorable for CERO (the rating system). But he apparently left it ambiguous and pushed it through 😅.

(For your information, the former producer he mentioned was probably Yoshinori Terasawa, the producer of the Danganronpa series. In an interview on dengekionline.com, Kodaka says that RAIN CODE was conceived with former producer Terasawa.)

------ After that, there was an advertisement about the event merchandise available at the venue. It was announced that those who bought the OST could participate in an autograph session with Kodaka. I have already posted a short manga about the autograph session in my previous post.

The VAs had left for the next reading, and only the MC, Kodaka, and Sakakibara were left on stage, and as I recall, the sequel was discussed again at that time. So MC asked Kodaka, "What can fans do to ensure a sequel for RAIN CODE?" Kodaka immediately answered, "Pay money! (課金だよ課金！)". 😂 I laughed a lot at his answer.

(It totally looked like this to me):

Every time he makes a statement like this, I am sure that he IS the person who wrote Monokuma's or Shinigami's lines. lol ------

The congregation all looked on as Monks moved forward down the aisle.

"Arrest that man!" Edmund shouted. The redcoats came running and talked Monks. As he caught against them he fired the gun. Four bullets rang out. One hit Jack sending him into you and you both tumbled to the floor.

Both Prof and Belle are hit. Panic erupts throughout the crowd. Sneed lifts Belle into his arms. Tim grabs the Prof onto his shoulder.

You pull Jack up into your arms seeing the blood soaking his clothes from his shoulder.

"Jack, Jack."

His eyes open and he looks up to you. He grunts and you help him to stand, pressing your hand against the wound. Fagin darts to you and helps to take his weight.

Everybody piles into carriages and speed to the hospital. You go with Jack on to the main ward, Hetty beside you as she wrapped an apron around herself. You grab the equipment that had been gathered for you. Before starting you pressed a kiss to Jack's lips.

"be careful." He grinned between the pains.

Hetty placed the ether mask over his face and waited for him to fall asleep before she darted off to help Sneed. You have to cut the wound open a little more and slide the forceps inside. Your hands become covered in Jack's blood. At last you find the bullet and pull it out dropping it and the forceps onto the bed. Your hands shake as you slowly stitch the wound and wipe away the blood. Hetty appears beside you spraying the carbolic acid onto the wound before taking over from you. She uses fresh gause to cover the stitching and bandages that she toes around his upper body. You use a triangle of material to affix Jack's arm tight to his chest.

"Y/n, Sneed needs your help in the operating room." Hetty tells you, "It's the Prof" you nod and move that way. Belle is sat in the next to the door she is wrapping a clean bandage around her exposed leg. You stop beside her.

"I'm fine, it was just a scratch go help Rainsford." She implores you.

You run as fast as you can to the operating room where Sneed is struggling to help the Prof. His knee is on the table as he tries to pull the bullet out.

"what do you need?" You ask rounding the table.

"there too much blood. I can't get it." He says through gritted teeth.

"Get more cloths." You command him, taking the forceps from him. The bullet is too deep. You climb onto the table so you are above him. You have to make the hole bigger. It had entered the Prof's shoulder at a diagonal.

"I can't find it." You growl. Sneed was beside his fingers holding the Prof's wrist.

"y/n. Y/n stop. He's gone." Sneed said

"No, no, no." You start to cry in frustration. You pound your fists on his chest. Sneed grabs your shoulders and pulls you off the table, holding you against him.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." You weep into his chest. Sneed sighed.

"Your dress, y/n." He breathes out the words.

You look down at yourself and see the beautiful silk now covered in blood.

"oh." You say and gently push yourself off him. In almost a daze you step out of the room, closing the door behind you. Edmund was standing there waiting. He looks to you with hopeful eyes.

"I'm sorry." You shake your head and move slowly through the hospital back to the ward where Jack was beginning to wake.

When he felt up to it the two of you walked up to his room where together you removed your wedding gown. You pulled on one of Jack's shirts before the two of you laid on the bed, cuddling against him.

"the dress was beautiful." Jack whispered to you, pressing a soft kiss to your hair.

"thank you."

Monks was hanged six days later in the middle of town. You watched it from the hospital window.

Prof's funeral took place the day after that, and you stood in black clothes holding Jack's hand in yours.

That evening would be the first time you both moved into your new home. Edmund had said an apartment but in truth this was a large house. At least from your point of view.

"I wish I could carry you over the threshold." Jack laughed.

Like many, I would love for this to turn out to be a pr stunt; however, I find it difficult to believe that would be the case with so many major entertainment outlets picking up the story even if they are attributing to Page Six. It seems like they would not report unless they were confident further confirmation was forthcoming. So far, TMZ is the only outlet questioning the reports.

As for the venue discrepancy, I believe the Daily Mail was the second one to report the story, and they were the first to allude to the wedding taking place on Cape Cod. Remember a few months ago they reported a summer wedding would take place with the Cape listed as a possible destination. I think whoever wrote yesterday's story pulled the location from the previous story instead of copying it from Page Six. Even though People and other outlets cited Page Six, it is clear they took the Cape location from Daily Mail. It is unlikely a wedding took place on the Cape given CE was seen in Concord on Saturday morning, and his friend Brian had posted from CE's Concord home early Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday morning; the Cape is ~2 hr drive from Concord so it would have been a time crunch to get down there and ready for an evening wedding. Not to mention the celebrity guests appeared to be staying in Boston.

Imo I think this latest development is tough to swallow because everyone tended to apply her own lens to the situation instead of looking at things from both sides and considering the people involved manipulated information. People have been equating real relationship and marriage with love; I personally believe love should be involved in a real, healthy rs and for marriage, but many people marry for other reasons. Others continue to say things like "they hardly were ever together" or "people weren't there". Everyone involved in the mess (Chris, Alba, Tara, Chelsea, Justin) showed us what they wanted to us to see. We were not with them 24/7. We have no idea what was going on behind the scenes. For example, we have no idea exactly when CE & AB started talking; we believe we know because we go by follows and assume she was exclusive with LB, but we have no idea if what we saw was accurate. Another example is we know JA purposely kept CE out of the NYE 2.0 photos, but know CE was there based on the VD dump. For me, I grew uneasy the more people celebrated JA's supposed outing of AB not being engaged by posting a pic of her not wearing a ring; based upon his past behavior, I thought it was too convenient that he would "confirm" the ring question for us like that. Every stop of the way the crew clearly fed info that could play into both sides to keep everyone guessing.

I have seen people on various pr blogs over the past day question about why was there never any sightings of the CE & AB. I know of at least four sightings that were reported to these blogs. The issue was that there were no pics to go along due to various reasons (e.g. driving, seeing them unexpectedly not in a stationary situation). Understandably, the information was disregarded; however, it is inaccurate to say sightings never occurred. The people who reported were polite and never said that they thought these sightings indicated real relationship. For all anyone knows, AB could have been around to film pr content. Yet, people simply chose to ignore the information and attack (not politely question) the people who brought forth the info; therefore, it discouraged people from bringing forth further info including pics.

To wrap up, the most disappointing and frustrating aspect about the past year for me is that CE straight faced told the public during the SMA interview how much he HATES manipulation; yet, that's exactly what he, his now (alleged) wife and her cronies did for this past year. It's also disappointing that what he said he wanted in a partner was not what it appears he ended up with, but things change and that is easier to accept imo. It's the fact that he specifically discussed his hatred of manipulation when he clearly knew that was what he was about to do to fans as of a few days later and for the long haul.

You're so right about her being everything he's said he doesn't want. I feel like in this situation, everybody is manipulating everybody (including us, fans), and that's one of the reasons why this whole thing is so unhealthy and toxic.

I still stand by my take on sightings. I don't believe them unless there is proof; I don't care how people word it. Just because someone nice says they saw somebody somewhere (like how people said he was also in Bermuda, and surprise surprise he wasn't), it won't make it real. Until I don't see an actual photo of someone being somewhere, it doesn't happen for me.

I don't really understand why it was good for them that people were guessing about them and their relationship, especially since most people don't like them being together. But I agree that Justin's behavior maybe should've been more alarming, but I think most of us thought that this whole thing might be over and he'd just had enough of people attacking him and her, but we were wrong.

I also stand by my view that this is not a healthy relationship; it never was and never will be. Too often, people who love each other don't behave or act the way they should. Almost everything that has happened since Alba came into his life is out of character for him, and yeah, I know we don't know him, but I think his words somewhat matched his actions up until Alba.

for the SOLOS, each episode must be at least 300+ WORDS long. as for the THREADS, it has to be a 4 replies ( minimum 8 lines; two posts per mun ) thread and with ANOTHER CRYSTALLIS member. as the guest, the CRYSTALLIS member will not receive additional points for participating. it’s also advised that the CRYSTALLIS guest appears in one show during this cycle to allow other members to participate in the other shows. 

for every episode written and completed ( solo or thread ), they will receive +6 MCING/HOSTING, VARIETY, ACTING, OR PERFORMANCE, and +5 NOTORIETY. all of the +6 SKILL POINTS have to be distributed to one of the skills mentioned. HAUSING COMPANY CAMPAIGN

“this will be the last time we’ll be working with this company since the contract was supposed to last a year and in a few months it will be one year.” YEWON stated after taking a sip of her coffee. “the content that all of you were filming in the prior months have slowly been posted on the CRYSTALLIS youtube channel. the company is quite satisfied with the campaign that after this term, you will be moving into your new and final dorms. apparently it’s quite an upgrade from the dorms you’ve started with, so let’s keep this momentum going with the last few months of the contract left!”

as mentioned, Q2 will be the final term for the CRYSTALLIS members to film and promote the HAUSING COMPANY. however, all of the content related to the yearlong campaign will last until the end of Q3 ( sometime around late SEPTEMBER ). similar to the past terms, the CRYSTALLIS members will be moving into another building and staying there for the next few months.

the dorms will consist of three floors. listed below is how the arrangement would look like:

1ST FLOOR: living room, kitchen, 1 bathroom

2ND FLOOR: 2 bedrooms ( 2 people per room; CREAM ROOM - JAEHWA & ICHIKA / SEA GREEN ROOM - HYEJOO & YUJIN ), 1 bathroom

3RD FLOOR: 2 bedrooms ( 2 people per room; TURQUOISE ROOM - SOYOUN & YURA / MAUVE ROOM -  YUXI & SOMIN ), 1 bathroom

the CRYSTALLIS members will film their initial reactions to the new dorms and their thoughts about how similar or different the dorms are in comparison to the previous ones they’ve stayed during their contract with HAUSING COMPANY.

in addition to that, each of the CRYSTALLIS members will have a meeting with the HAUSING COMPANY staff privately as they are asked to describe how their ideal bedroom would look like if they could have one. for this, imagine that they were given a simple floor planning map ( think a small studio room ) and they could pitch in the color schemes, style, and furniture for the room. however, do take into consideration that this bedroom would have to be suited for middle class young adults who might be interested in living in a place that fits within their budget.

SOMIN’S BIRTHDAY

for SOMIN’s birthday, she will get a chance to do a gaming livestream! the day before her birthday, SOMIN will suggest a few multiplayer games to NAHEE to help finalize what game she’ll be playing with ALIZE. then on the day of the livestream, SOMIN will have a 1 hour gaming session with some of the lucky fans ( and the room will be decorated nicely courtesy of the CRYSTALLIS members and their managers )! towards the end, NAHEE will be singing happy birthday and showing SOMIN a birthday cake created by the CRYSTALLIS members ( who were decorating it while SOMIN was doing her gaming livestream ).

for ooc knowledge ( because their comeback will be happening during the early weeks of Q3 ), CRYSTALLIS will receive 11 wins from ‘#MENOW’, thus totaling to 15 wins since their debut ( with 4 of the wins happening during SIESTA era ). the wins for ‘#MENOW’ will be from THE SHOW ( JULY 23 & 30 ), SHOW CHAMPION ( JULY 24 & 31 ), M! The X-Files Season 1, Episode 5: Jersey Devil

The production value on this show reminds me of mid 90's shows like the Outer Limits reboot that happened around this time. Something oddly comforting to me about it. Plus Mulder and Scully's voices is oddly relaxing to me. Anyway, Jersey Devil eh? Oh, I was mistaken on the title of the Coheed and Cambria song, it's Devil in Jersey City. Awesome song though. Old timey dude and his family get a flat in their old timey car, he gets dragged off, and the cops shoot the thing coming out of the cave, as they are wont to do. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Pay-phones and phone books make an appearance in this episode. Remember those? I do, because I'm old. Mulder getting information from homeless folks is pretty good, and he even starts to look schluby after a night of living on the streets, that's wild. Not nearly as wild as him looking at the bigfoot with tiddies! Oh my god this shit had me dying

Another observation, Scully keeps that thang on her. I think Mulder only pulled his piece out in the pilot, but Scully brandishes the blicky like she's on Instagram Live with Ja Morant. Mulder also looks like he's about to get some toppy from a Geico caveman woman. Hair dreaded like a Phish fan. Probably smells the same, and this fool is all "she's beautiful." Anyway, the local law kills her and she so conveniently falls and kicks up debris from the woods floor on her naked ass. Gotta love network TV censors. Surprise, there were feral kids too. Anyway, it was an alright episode. I do like the idea of humans not being at the top of the food chain. Bigfoot with cans had me laughing so hard I had to pause it. Also it's nice that it's not an alien episode. Next episode is Shadows. Doesn't seem it's about shadow people.

Apollo and Klavier go over Christmas plans. Klapollo week 2023 day 4: family

Christmas was a bit of a touchy time of year for Apollo. It hadn’t been Klavier’s favorite for a while either. The first year they spent together, it had been just the two of them, healing and finding comfort in each other’s company. They’d gone to the Wright’s party of course and made a brief appearance at the Prosecutor’s office event, but this year they were really ready to throw themselves into it.

“I asked Trucy about it. They haven’t planned anything yet, so if we want to be the hosting house this year, it’s ours.” “Fantastich! First we should sort out the guest list, ja?” “Ja. Did you want to, you know, invite anyone…”

Apollo was doing his best not to state what he meant directly in case that made Klavier feel pressured to do something he didn’t want to. Apollo had met the other members of the Gavinners a total of once and at this point figured meeting Klavier’s parents was out of the question. He still wanted that option to be available, though, in case his boyfriend felt like reaching out.

“Nein. Maybe we should focus on your family?”

Apollo recognized that tone as one that meant he didn’t want to talk about it right then. They had talked about it before and undoubtedly would again, they were very good at the whole communication thing after the initial stumbles, and Apollo knew there was a time and place for certain topics. That was fine. But he also recognized this made his boyfriend incredibly sad, and he hated that more than anything. Klavier was loved and he deserved to know it.

“They’re your family now, too, you know.”

Klavier felt that this was something he had known theoretically, but hearing it said aloud by someone else…

“Ja, they are, aren’t they.” “Ja. So let’s invite our family. Trucy is going to be so excited to hear about your new music, and Mr. Wright was interested in that smuggling case you picked up. Of course, if the Wrights are coming, so are the Feys and Mr. Edgeworth. Athena will want to show Juniper off to you, so add two more. We can’t leave Ema out, and she’ll bring Kay. And we’ll need to invite Debeste and Blackquill. While we’re at it, we should see if Miss von Karma and Nahyuta will be in the states. And if we’re inviting that many people anyway, we should invite the Gumshoes… Am I missing anyone?” “Would you be up to inviting your mother… ?”

Klavier had gotten along very well with Apollo’s mother, but that was before he knew everything that happened and that she was in fact the mother of the man he loved. He could understand Apollo’s apprehension. Just because someone was agreeable, even if they were a fantastic person, that didn’t necessarily mean they were a good parent. Not that he necessarily thought she was a bad one either, it was just complicated. He knew Apollo wanted to try getting to know her, mostly for Trucy’s sake, but at least a little bit for his own. It was especially odd for him not having known her until he was already an adult.

“I guess we should, huh? I’ll never get to know her better if I keep avoiding her. We should tell her to bring Machi, too.” “This time of year really has you charitable.” “… I don’t want to be alone. I don’t want anyone else to, either.” “You won’t ever be alone if I can help it.” Apollo blushed and turned away. “You’re such a sap.” “But you love me.” “No. And I love you.” Klavier blushed a bit himself. “Now who’s being a sap?” “Shut up.” Apollo kissed him gently. “Now if we’re filling this big ass house with people we’re going to need enough food to feed an army, so I was thinking we could have everyone bring a dish. I think he sent one back in the mail on the table.” “We should probably start actually looking at the mail when we pick it up, huh?” “That would probably be smart, ja. I think games are a great idea. “Don’t look so happy to see me,” Jasper says sarcastically as he joins Ellinor on the balcony overlooking the ballroom. He holds a flute of champagne out to her, but she sighs and shakes her head.

“Am I so obvious?”

“Always.”

She’d sock him on the arm if she thought it would do any good. Or if she really had the heart to. But even the sight of her best friend doesn’t bring a smile to her face like it normally would. Instead, it only makes her more blue.

It’s her first public appearance since Tristan broke off their engagement. Though she’s seen Jasper since—he’s gotten quite good at climbing the trellis of the Trevelyan’s manor into her bedroom—she’s seen no one else other than her family. She’d been surprised at the invitation to begin with, but it’s more than likely her mother pulled a few strings to get her out in front of potential suitors again as soon as she could. Not for my sake, she thinks bitterly, only for the family name.

“Don’t you know I’m a stain on the family tree?” she jokes. She doesn’t have to point out to him that no one has come her way for a dance or a flirty conversation. A year ago nobility would have clawed at the chance to be seen with the Lady Ellinor Trevelyan; now, hardly anyone bats an eye at her. And when they do, it’s with hushed tones whispered into heavily bejeweled hands, side glances, scoffs.

Jasper chuckles. “So I’ve heard. It’s a shame. I sorely miss scaring off unwanted attention to you with my vulgarity and masculine aggression.”

“‘Masculine aggression,’” she snorts. “Is that what it was?”

“You didn’t seem to question it if it was. I caused a scene on your behalf on more than one occasion, and I remember you being quite grateful for it.”

She sighs wistfully. “I was.”

“In fact, I remember you expressing your unending gratitude by wrapping your lips around my—”

“Well, those days are over,” she interrupts him. “If this is my mother’s idea of bouncing back my reputation after being jilted by Tristan—”

“—may his cock wither—”

“The phrase is supposed to be ‘crops.’”

“I said what I said.”

“Ugh.” She rolls her eyes. “Anyway, it’s clearly backfired. The high society of Ostwick is about as happy to see me as I am them.”

Jasper shrugs. “It’s a boring party anyway. Where’s the intrigue? The scandal?”

“She’s right here,” Ellinor says dully.

“If that’s so, you need to do a better job of causing drama. The most exciting thing to happen so far tonight is Messere Carrington getting a wine stain on his trousers. And he does that at every ball.”

She laughs at him. “So what do you suggest I do, Jas?”

“Really get them talking.” Without further ado, he pulls a small letter opener from his jacket, clinking it loudly against the side of the champagne flute.

“Everyone! Everyone, I’ve an important announcement to make.”

Quickly, the din in the hall begins to hush, and even the harpist stops playing.

Jasper looks at her and raises an eyebrow.

He’s giving me an out.

Instead she starts to laugh. Just quietly, just once, but the grin on her face is answer enough for him, and she nods. He winks at her. And carelessly, he throws the champagne aside, leans into her, and absolutely commits.

He kisses her passionately on the mouth, pulling her close by the waist, tugging at her hair, slipping his tongue between her lips, even going as far as to dip her near to the floor before pulling her back up again. The crowd around them gasp, whisper, grumble their distaste. And when he finally lets her go, she laughs.

After a moment, the harpist begins to play again, more quickly this time, and the chatter—albeit much more scandalized now—begins to resume, and the guests do their best to pretend whatever happened most certainly did not happen.

“You—” she giggles, poking Jasper in the chest. “Are going to be in so much trouble for that!”

Jasper laughs. “I told you. It was a boring party.”

The (sad) life of Francis Henderson Junior

(When I thought John Laurens' life was sad enough this appeared)

The information that will appear was taken from here.

Better known like John Laurens' grandson, only surviving child of Frances Laurens and Francis Henderson, this newspaper talked some little details about his life.

They (Frances Laurens and Francis Henderson) lived together about a year, which time young Frank (Francis Jr) was born. (I suppose he was born in London and it was understood in Abbeville as I several times hear him say his vote was challenged at Cedar Springs in '30 or '32 for evidence that he was "civilized")

Francis Henderson and Frances Laurens married in the year 1795, Francis Jr was the only surviving child of the marriage, Francis Jr was certainly born in London and baptised there, about his year of born I don't know where's the source but most of mentions of him around internet said he was born during 1800 (as the article suggest).

Here, starts the most personal part of his life, one that, for lack of sources to refute or support this, I'm going to just copy it here.

The husband and wife spent the second year or a part of it, in Paris, and quarrelled and filed bills and cross bills for divorce, with evidences that looked ugly for both. I do not know whether the battle was in England, France or South Carolina; no disse lution of the marriage tie was granted, but the child was awarded to the father, and also the trusteeship of the estate , the wife being allowed an annuity of $1800, and the balance of income divided between father and son.

My understanding is, that the father placed his son in Scotland with his relatives and came himself to the United States to manage the estate, making his residence at Newport, R. I., where he again married and raised a family, spending the winter in Charleston and Abbeville, leasing and renting the property. The wife remained in England and was living at an advanced age 26 or 28 years ago. Frank, junior, (Francis Jr) was graduated at Edinburg College and afterwards went through and graduated also at one of the first German colleges, and traveled a year or two. He then came to Charleston and read law with Jas. L. Pettigrew, or another, and was ad mitted after a most brilliant examination and the highest hopes entertained of him. (This I learned from the lips of one who studied and was admitted with him.) But just at that seemingly propitious period, he learned of the existence of his mother, whom he supposed had died at his birth, and with the message there came too much for him; his proud heart broke, and though caring not for the bowl he sought refuge in it from thence un til the grave closed over him.

When I first saw him in 1834 he appeared to be between 30 and 35 years of age, and had reached his quart per day; in 1840 he could "run" it, and to the end there was no difficulty in disposing of it. He made Abbeville his home and never left it but three times that I re member - twice he spent the summers at Flat Rock, N. C., and about 1836 he went to Washington. His father was trying to get reimbursed for a large sum expended by the elder Laurens in aid of the first " rebellion , " and supposed his presence would aid it. During his stay he was the guest of President Jackson at the White House. Frank, jr. (Francis Jr), boarded with the McLaren family, (as also his father during his stay,) and was as regular in his habits as David Lewis Wardlaw, but they were unfortunately, not so well ordered. He arose 90'clock A. M., took a cup of strong coffee, a hot roll and butter, boiled Mackerel, ham and eggs or steak, (he cared not for chicken.) Then he would sit or walk until 11 o'clock A. M., and then took his seat near a table, and after having filled a glass half with spirits and half with water (never used sugar) he would, read and sip an hour and repeat, which carried him to dinner time, when hef fr would go in on nearly a bee - line and cl make a hearty meal; then at 4 o'clock P. M. he would read and repeat the morning potations until supper, eating again; then after giving supper one hour, he would read and run down a pint by bed time , which would C leave hiin in a condition requiring aan little aid ( always at hand among the fe well - paid servants , ) in getting rid of te his boots, & c. This statement explains him from 1834 to about 1842. for Afterwards he weakened rapidly and ar required aid at the end of day sittings, te and on the "quarter stretch" he had to read and drink mostly in bed went under in 1847. He went under in 1874.

How a man could drink so much, so persistently, and so long, is a puzzle. My explanation is this: he in the first place inher ited a perfect physical development, strengthened by the school and college discipline in Europe, and he was free from all irregularities or habits taxing the system until perhaps 27 years of age with the basis of a good constitution established; again he always ate his meals and slept; and drank only the purest spirits, and never before breakfast on an empty stomach. He usually purchased by the bottle or demijohn, and whoever had the best "Otard" or "Dupuy" found a good customer. He drank mostly in his room, but sometimes with Robert Cochran whom he liked, and his seat was at a table in the back room. He ap courteous and enquiry, but I remember was polite and proachable for a proper accessible only to a few to have heard at the time of his being accosted on his way into Cochrau's by an impertinent fellow who mistook him, from his neat dress and having seen him standing in a tailor shop, for a "jour," and addressed him as such, which cost him a horizontal position and a bleeding head from a lance wood cane. He always dressed in fine taste, of the finest material, and had no use for cotton. He would in his better days have passed for hand some , but for his projecting eye-balls, the most so I ever witnessed. withstanding his habits he kept up with the current literature of the day, and was as nearly an Encyclopedia on walking library as ever came withing my reach. He was familiar with all the great authors and their writings, except Pollock, whose "Course of Time" he had never read through, nor found any other who had. He had visited all the great cities and points in Europe, and had seen, or was familiar with, all the potentates, politics and leaders of the day in Europe. He knew but little on this side of the water, and cared less. His American politics were a friend to Jackson.

He took a fancy to me early as a boy, and I to him as a man, and his room was open to me at any hour. I availed myself of him often, and am in debted to him for many facts and ex planations I might not have known without him. He was one of the finest readers I ever listened to. On one occasion I found him reading Richard III and he repeated some passages which may be excelled, but how I cannot imagine. At other times he read selected Psalms in a manner that seemed to give a meaning far more reaching than my own to me. He was a man of fine moral and religious sentiment, without the practice, as understood by rule or prescription. No one had a higher respect for the clergy and those who followed in sin cerity their teachings. He seemed to be a fated man under a cloud and carried onward by a power and circum stances beyond his control. And may it not be true that,

The last parragraph is from a poem written by Robert Burns, called "Address To The Unco Guid, Or The Rigidly Righteous", the Unco Guid is a Scottish term used for those who profess a strict morality, and the poem is in fact, a satirical critict to the hypocresy of the religious and social moral. Such a sour detail from the article author's part.

Best Laid Plans: a brief Secrets Can Kill story

Jake walked into his room and threw his backpack at the foot of his bed, muttering a few choice words to himself. More carefully, he set his video camera onto his desk, but then swore again and kicked the one of the legs of his desk. 

That…maybe could have gone better. He wasn’t planning on Mitch pulling out a gun in the middle of discussing arrangements. Maybe that was some lack of foresight on Jake’s part…. Sure, Mitch was just some stupid criminal, too dumb to go to college, so he worked as a custodian at the pharmacy, school, and as maintenance man on top of his drug racket, but he was still a criminal. Duh, some of them carried weapons.

Jake winced. His face still hurt, though.

But Jake was smart. Smarter than Mitch. While he and Mitch were arguing in front of the video lab in the school (they’d met there at six, and plenty of athletes, janitors, and security personnel were still in the premises, so the door was unlocked), Mitch pulled out his gun, pointed it at Jake, and yelled at him to give him his video tapes and video camera. Jake had yelled back at Mitch, hoping to attract somebody to the video lab to scare Mitch off. 

After about a minute, his plan worked, but not before Mitch had hit him with his gun.

Jake winced as he touched the side of his face. That was going to leave a mark. He’d been stunned for a moment, but before Mitch could hit him again, they’d both heard footsteps rapidly approaching the video lab. Once they’d heard the footsteps, Jake ran out the doors of the school, jumped on his bike, and peddled away…though he wasn’t sure where Mitch had gone.

He sat on his bed and cursed to himself again. If that had gone better, then he would have gotten enough money to be out of Paseo del Mar by the end of the week.

If he wanted to get money out of Mitch, he had to do something different. Maybe not meet him in person again, Jake didn’t like getting hit and would rather not repeat such an experience again. Maybe Jake could leave him another note somewhere, or use Daryl or Hector as a deliveryman. Probably Daryl, since he knew Mitch already. Or maybe not, considering who knew what would make Mitch pull out his gun, though Mitch did rely on Daryl for running what was most likely drugs, so Mitch probably wouldn’t attack him. And besides, Daryl wasn’t smart enough to get the best of Mitch. Jake had outsmarted both of them. He could take care of himself. If Jake could organize some sort of dead drop or something, that would be best. Something that wouldn’t require any face-to-face communication with Mitch. Just let him control Mitch from the shadows and then disappear once he got the money he wanted.

He did take comfort in the fact that Mitch hadn’t shot him. Maybe the gun was just for intimidation. Maybe he was all talk and no show. Maybe he wouldn’t really kill anyone. 

Jake would just have to watch his back while at work and school to make sure Mitch didn’t show up and mug him.

Something tapped at his window. 

He ignored it and stood up from his bed. He’d mostly sorted everything in his room into “I want to take this with me” and “I don’t want to take this with me” when he moved out, hopefully next week, if all went according to plan. He’d almost finished writing the letter to his dad explaining why he’d be randomly gone one day. Though it might be a while before his dad noticed. Their paths didn’t cross all that much. This week was an exception, since with their current house guest, Jake’s father wanted to try to eat dinner together to at least keep up appearances; awkwardly try to get to know his ex’s daughter more while she stayed at their house. Jake doubted his dad would organize a massive search party to pick him up, even if he or someone found the video tape saying Jake was going to Dread Isle. His dad was apathetic like that, didn’t really care about Jake. Jake was, too, he didn’t really care about his father. Their relationship was convenient like that. 

The tapping continued.

Maybe he could give Mia some more clues to find his video tapes. Sure, his half-sister would only be here for another few days, but if she really tried, she could probably find all of the clues needed to find the hidden tapes, or at least the one showing where he was heading next week. Especially because some clues were hidden away in the library. She liked reading, so he imagined she’d be especially thrilled to find he’d inserted clues into the library’s catalog. Sure, she didn’t live in Florida, but if she just confidently walked into school or Maxine’s after hours, no one would suspect anything or question her.

More tapping.

And hey, if she--or anyone in the school, though he doubted anyone in the school would find out anything, since everyone at the school were all idiots--found the clues he’d left hinting at his classmates’ misdeeds, good for her/them. If not…well, at least Jake could forget about them when he was on Dread Isle. If Daryl kept up being a drug runner, if Hector continued stealing and using drugs, if Connie kept committing fraud, if Hal kept cheating…karma would catch up to them eventually. They were all obsessed with going to college (waste of time, if you asked Jake, he had showed in the past couple months you didn’t need a college degree to get money), and even if everyone threw away Jake’s messages on the bulletin boards, someone would eventually find out what disgusting hypocrites they were; walking around with their holier-than-thou attitudes while committing crimes of themselves (especially Daryl, Jake genuinely hoped he met the same financial ruin as his father when his perfect, golden boy reputation and appearance crashed and burned eventually, because if there was any justice or karma in the world, that would happen). Maybe it wouldn’t be Jake who ultimately exposed them, but out of sight, out of mind. Thinking about them would ruin his private island/life of solitary luxury, so he’d do his best to avoid letting them ruin his retirement.

The tapping had turned into pounding.

Seriously, what on earth--he thought as he turned around towards his window.

And gasped, jumping backwards, his throat suddenly constricting as his heartbeat shot up.

Mitch was standing there.

How on earth did he--?

He had been tapping on the window with his gun.

Jake pressed himself against his dresser, trying to remain standing, despite his limbs suddenly wanting to give out. Why on earth was Mitch here? This was Jake’s house, he was supposed to have privacy here, how did he follow him here? 

“If anything happens to me…” 

Okay, he hadn’t actually thought that something was going to happen to him when he’d recorded that on his video tape; he was just supposed to take Mitch’s money and have the guy leave him alone.

Mitch was glowering at him as he made a “come here” gesture.

Jake was feeling rather sick but he tried his best to ignore such feelings as he straightened up--he just startled me, that’s it, I’m fine, I have control of the situation--and walked to the window.

“What do you want?” he muttered, opening his window. “Here to pay up?”

“Not at all. We’re going to meet again.”

“I don’t have anything else to say. Give me the money or I’ll turn you into the police and--”

The word died in Jake’s throat as Mitch shoved the gun into Jake’s face.

“I have a few different things to say,” Mitch said quietly as Jake crossed his eyes staring down the barrel of the gun. “Meet me at the school tonight, by the entrance in the back of the school to the boiler room at 11 p.m.”

“Wh-why do you think I’d be stupid enough to meet you then, when the security’s left for the night by then?”

A ghost of a smirk tugged at the corners of Mitch’s mouth. “It is unfortunate for you, isn’t it? Would you like to know what will happen if you don’t?”

“I can guess,” Jake said, forcing himself to look away from the gun and instead at the man holding it. His face must have been ashen, but he tried to wipe his face clean of emotion as he faced Mitch

“I know where you live, Jake,” Mitch said, his voice uncannily quiet, considering he’d been yelling at Jake at the school not one hour ago. “Obviously. If you aren’t by the school by then, I’ll come here and shoot you. And I’ll shoot anyone else who lives here. And don’t think you can run away, either--my, ah, business, as you called it--it has a lot of people involved all around Florida. Within a few days, they’d all know what you look like.”

Jake didn’t say anything, and Mitch continued, “So we’ll discuss arrangements on my terms, this time--at the school at eleven tonight. I’ll see you there.”

And he put his gun away, backing away from the window. A few minutes later, Jake heard a car engine turn on and drive away.

He exhaled and ran his fingers through his hair, slumping against the wall.

He wanted to meet…tonight…at the school. With no one else around. No risk of security or anyone else running into them.

A sudden, horrible thought slammed into him.

You’re not getting out of this alive.

Shut up! 

You’re outclassed.

No, I’m not. I’ve already blackmailed four criminals.

Did any of them come to your house to threaten to murder you?

Shut. UP.

It was almost seven now. He’d have to leave a bit past 10:30 to make it to the school by eleven.

A strangled noise was building up in the back of his throat, and breathing was starting to sound faint, shaky. 

Shut UP. Come on, think. 

Wait, the bulletin boards…

If he went to the school now, he could make it back to school at about 7:30. The security guards, athletes, coaches, janitorial staff, and maybe some theater kids cleaning up after rehearsal would still be there.

If someone asked what he was doing, he could tell them that he forgot to do something, forgot to leave something on the bulletin boards for tomorrow, say he left something in his locker, something. He just needed a printer and some paper. Maybe just even paper and a pen.

Messages, he could leave messages…

Someone knocked on his door, and he jumped.

“Jake?” Mia called.

He cleared his throat and exhaled slowly, calming down. “Yeah?”

His half-sister opened the door and frowned. “You good? What happened to your face?”

Oh that. Again, he unconsciously brushed against his injury. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just, uh, fell off my bike.”

“Uh-huh.  Dinner’s ready.”

“Oh. Right.” He cleared his throat. “Actually, Mia, you and my dad can eat without me. I have to run to the school to do something real quick.”

She frowned and crossed her arms. “You know, you’re weird, Jake. The way you were talking to that kid in the library. You were exchanging papers or something, and that kid really looked unhappy. You told me that you really hate your classmates, and that they hate you…but I guess I underestimated how much. Even walking down the hallway, people were throwing you dirty looks! You don’t seem physically strong enough to shove kids into lockers. And now you show up with the side of your face injured. What are you doing? Why are you exchanging papers with people? Why does everyone hate you? Why do you look like you were punched? And why are you being so mysterious about what you’re doing next week?”

Ooh, she was good. Definitely worthy of being his sister. Jake guessed their mother had been the smart one in her and Jake’s father’s brief relationship, since Jake definitely didn’t get his intelligence and cunning from him.

“I…” He tried to give a confident, nonchalant smirk, but suspected it looked more like a pained grimace. “Um…would you believe me if I told you I have a job, some side-hustles outside of my job at the diner?”

She raised an eyebrow. “You a drug dealer? My friend says that every high school has them. Or do you gamble? That can get you a lot of money if you rig the system. Or do people in a random Florida town have blackmailable secrets?”

You’d be surprised. He shrugged noncommittally, avoiding looking at her. “Something. Uh--I promise I’ll give you more hints and stuff later,” he said, standing up. “I’ll--”

“No, really, are you okay?” 

She had dropped some of the accusation in her tone.

“Uh, what do you mean? Of course I’m fine.” He could feel the situation, their conversation slipping out of control, out of his control. Come on, he had this all planned out for weeks. Mitch wasn’t going to ruin his perfectly-laid plans. He wasn’t scared, he wasn’t scared. “I told you that I just fell off my bike. You don’t need to examine everything, you know--”

 “It’s not just your face. You look kinda sick and pale, and that’s saying something. You’re one of the whitest guys I know.”

“I--I’m fine,” he said. He really wished she would leave. He could tell that his voice was losing its strength, becoming more unsteady. He kept seeing the gun Mitch had pushed in his face twice now. “But I just have to run to the school and do something real quick. I’ll be back in forty-five minutes or an hour. Don’t wait for me. I’ll…I’ll give you some hints about what’s going on later, okay?”

OCCE - Sol Life in the Valley

Overview

So first there was Parker, which was fine. Inconvenient and a little scary, but dealing with someone around their age was manageable. Then there was a middle aged woman which made the panic increase, but Jade seemed to be fairly understanding of the situation and had been nothing but kind during the duration of her stay.

The hope was that by studying the portals, Skylar would be able to figure out how to reserve-engineer some sort of spell to send them back, but then when Lord Baron opened up yet another portal and a child fell through Skylar knew this needed to be stopped immediately. 

After making sure the kid was alright it was straight to Magnus because while they could cover up Parker and Jade as visiting friends and relatives to everyone (with the exception of Victor + the ASS trio) they didn't know what to do with the sudden appearance of a kid without any parents. 

Seeing that they were around the same age, Magnus asked Morgan to tend to their guest while he and Skylar talked to which Morgan agreed.

Morgan: Hey, you want to see something cool? Sol: ? Morgan: Pretty neat, right? Morgan: You're a mage too? When did you learn you had magic? Did you have to drink a gross potion? Are you training under someone? What have you been learning? Does your teacher let you invite other kids over? Magnus and Sky, *thinking*: Oh, yoba… Magnus: I'll report this to the ministry. Skylar: That's probably best.

After that, Skylar started dropping off Sol at the tower each morning before going to work on the farm.

Unsurprisingly really good at magic since it's mostly intuitive for her, but Magnus still insisted on learning the theory which Sol hated.

She does eventually become good friends with Morgan though which makes them feel a little less lonely since they can't always hang out with Vincent and Jas nor can they talk to them about magic the same way they can with Sol.

Morgan also likes learning about what Sol's world is like (even though it's a bit difficult for Sol to describe since some words don't really translate). In return they tell her about the monsters in the Valley, and how they hope humans and monsters can be friends in their world too.

Skylar definitely dotes on Sol far too much for Sol's liking though. It's not that Skylar is intentionally underestimating Sol's abilities, it's just that their grandparents were around 24/7 to take care of them so they don't understand just how independent a kid can be. And it's hard for Sol to convey this as well.

Jade and Sam are the ones who have to convince Sky to ease up a bit after assuring Skylar that Sol wouldn't spontaneously combust if left alone for more than 5 seconds which Sol was grateful for.

Since Jade recognizes how independent Sol is she generally leaves her to her own devices unless prompted for something. Sol does like to help Jade out around the farm when Skylar is busy though, and Jade often hums tunes to herself while they work which Sol finds soothing. Jade also tries to help with any homework Sol gets from Magnus, but even though one of her daughters is a mage, Jade herself doesn't really understand magical theory, so it isn't much she can do to help.

As for Parker, well… Parker is the last person anyone wants to leave a child with. I mean they're completely irresponsible and reckless, and there's no way they would ever be a good influence on someone's kid.

At least that's what Jade and Skylar think. 

But Parker comes from a big family with lots of younger cousins, so they're actually really good with kids and is probably the one Sol enjoys being around the most. (Not to mention they're the one with the most free time which makes it easier to keep an eye on Sol.) This rings especially true after Parker realizes Sol likes pokemon (although they aren't sure if Sol is being serious when she says she's from Pallet Town or if she just has an active imagination. They go with the former because, hey, magic dimension portal. Anything's possible.)

The two of them can usually be found exploring the forest together looking for forge and other treasures when Sol doesn't have lessons, playing games, or cooking things. Parker also tells stories to Sol sometimes which Sol enjoys as well. 

When it's not just the two of them, Sam, Vincent, (and sometimes Jas and Leo) can be found not far behind which usually leads to everyone ending out tuckered out by the end of the day.

Now Lance in particular is a fun one because if you were unaware, he's pretty much exactly like the Elite Four Lance (the regions' most powerful pokemon trainers) in Sol's world. And not only this, but Pokemon Lance is ALSO a child of the Viridian Forest, meaning he also has magic to a degree in Pokemon. So you can probably imagine Sol's enthusiasm upon meeting him in Stardew.

*Shiny pokemon are rare pokemon that have different colorations and “shine” or sparkle when encountered. Sol's Charizard is like this, so she's making a joke since the two have a similar style.

She does find it comforting to see a partially familiar face, and Lance does actually help with her magic assignments when he and Skylar aren't busy. (Even though this is rare for him) 

Overall, I think Sol would enjoy her time in the Valley and would still be happy if she had to stay there.

Emiri. Adi's sister Tia and brothers Kisin and Zak(they're still kids though, dunno if they count). And I feel like Josetta's All-work-no-play mindset means she hasn't had a serious enough relationship for a kiss yet.

7. which oc has the most cohesive color palette? the craziest color palette?

I tend to prioritize cohesive color palettes for my characters, definitely within an outfit, and if they become one of my Main OCs they tend to get signature colors I try to stick to for all their outfits(ex. Vikkari's blue-green-purple, Jaaide's deep green, Trinne's red/pink-purple(-green), Tavi's teal and yellow, Adi's pale pink/cornflower blue). So pretty much all of them have a cohesive color palette, I guess the closest some get to "crazy" is maybe one of my alien OCs from SWtOR, where I'm trying to match an outfit to green/blue/orange skin?

22. which oc likes to read to their partner? which oc prefers being read to?

Adi definitely likes to read to Heodan, and also likes it when he reads to her. Emiri doesn't have a romantic partner yet, but she loves reading out loud, usually to Aloth since he's her bff(and the one who taught her to read). Tavi likes to listen to Aloth reading.

Vica and Endrali will both read aloud when Theron or Arcann is in the room but aren't necessarily reading to them.

Jas absolutely loved listening to Tristian reading, now loves listening to him tell stories.

28. which oc would start a podcast? what would it be about?

Adi would start two, one for baking and one for history. Occasionally overshares about her personal life.

Eisza would start one that's stories from bounty hunting. Half of them sound too wild to be true.

Vikkari would start a cooking one, dishes from all the places he's visited. There's usually a story behind how he learned each one.

Kei would have one about weapons and their care, probably goes on semi-regular tangents about "swords don't work that way" or "that's a FARRIER not a BLACKSMITH" etc

Trinne would start one about the different schools of magic and their use/history but either she gets bored and gives it up or she gets shut down for her not-entirely-negative views of entropy and blood magic.
