Skating into the Groovy AU, Here Comes Julie!! Also known as WildFlower!! Oh she has skates, so she is so much more chaotic! Dumb JATP as parents/guardians/uncles/aunts of t(w)eens headcanons re: slang

Luke: does not understand modern slang, does not want to understand modern slang. Only uses slang from his own teen years and is mildly offended it is considered dorky or uncool.

Julie: Understands modern slang but does not use it, unless a targeted attack to embarrass the nearest teen because they somehow deserve the embarrassment. Uses it sparingly so it doesn’t lose its effect. Does use slang from her own teen/early 20s with Flynn though.

Willie: Understands modern slang. Intentionally uses slang from eras before his time and gets away with it half the time because he just has the Vibes. Also intentionally mixes slang from several eras.

Alex: Understands some modern slang. Intentionally uses modern slang in a deadpan voice. Sometimes uses it wrong on purpose, because he revels in the D: faces

Reggie: Understands most modern slang and uses it, oblivious (or choosing to ignore) that it is Uncool for him to do so. Will very seriously say stuff like ‘my tummy hurts but I’m being so brave about it’.

finally finished my 70s-inspired patchwork platform dream shoes!

#don't reblog please :)#patchwork platforms have always been a bucket list wardrobe item but the real vintage ones are like $300+ which is INSANE #so i thrifted these steve madden platforms for $13 and got free (vintage!) fabric from a lady in my area and just mod podged these up!#anyways. if anyone remembers i started this project last july and then had absolutely no free time from august until now to finish #but they're done just in time for groovy gal summer pt 2 (mike nesmith edition) and i cannnnotttt wait to wear them #they're a little messy (especially the one i did last summer. what was past me THINKING) but it doesn't matter much to me

Ohh i could not stop thinking about the one commercial with the Wally plush!! Where he says "Groovy", "Far out", and such!! And if you look up "70's background" There is just soooo much aesthetic suiting of Wally!! So i really really wanted to dress him up in some Groovy clothes!! The fish shoes were his original shoes, but i made them an alt cause they are hard to draw! pfffft! Wally can Dance! He can teach You how to Dance!

Alternate blue glasses, i could not decide on the color of his John Lennon's, so he can have many pairs! Oh and he definitely has a wide wardrobe!!

more toned down, i think! less "i literally cannot imagine a life without you" and more "two stray cats that bonded and are not inseparable". i imagine that Frank & Julie were planning on living in the same town, but they wanted their own living spaces to do with as they please without having to compromise. i like to think that they got neighboring properties - or do they live in the same apartment / condo building? still thinking about everyone's living spaces...

and Yes! i like to adhere to canon as much as possible with my aus. i imagine that when they met in school Julie may have developed a crush on Frank, but has long since grown out of it. and she learned pretty quick that uh... hon... Frank's a lover of men <3

Sick.

You felt sick after eating that cake. It tasted like pure sugar cane mixed with coffee creamer. The taste was sweeter than any treat you had eaten before.

Yet you don't utter a word about it to your plucky, so-called, "neighbors".

"Well, would you look at the time? It looks like it's late... Er. I think, but I gotta keep.. Unpacking? And I'm sure you all have plans of your own tomorrow."

You pick up the plates quickly, but some of the slices were barely picked at. Other plates are not even a spec of crumbs.

"Yes, of course!" Poppy said, hurriedly fluffing up her feathers in case of any stray pieces of dessert on her.

"Mhm, the post office isn't gonna' run itself." "Nor the bodega!" Howdy and Eddie laugh, Frank, chuckling off to the side.

"Yes, I gotta get some beauty sleep if I wanna dream big!" Sally agreed, pushing out her chair.

"Then I guess it's settled, we'll see you tomorrow, right neighbor?" Wally asks you. Dropping the plates in the sink, a few break on impact. Your hands try to pick up the broken pieces. But recoiled at the sight of your blood staining the fine china.

"Ye-yeah... Absolutely."

"Wonderful!" Julie cheers, coming up to your side by the sink.

"You must join me tomorrow! Your clothes are so odd! I've never seen a style quite like it. I would love it if we could dress up together!" The puppet chattered.

You nodded uncaringly, more focused on the cut on your palm.

"Groovy-..!"

A sharp gasp escapes Julie as Frank comes to her side.

"What... What is that?" Julie questioned you.

"Oh-... it's a cut. I hurt myself..."

"H-HURT! Who said hurt!?" Poppy stumbles near your side, her gaze softening as she asks if you were okay.

The other puppets now standing behind her, awkwardly trying to see your cut.

You hesitantly show the bird-puppet your palm, albeit shaken up by her. You thought she would bite your arm off with her beak.

Instead, she holds out her feathers, tenderly holding your arm.

Her expression turns into one of confusion. "That's odd..?"

"Wh-what??"

"There's only paint, I don't see any stuffing. Are you sure you are hurt?"

You, in turn, give her a puzzled look.

Had... Had these puppets never seen a human before? Much less a human being bleeding?

You take this as a good sign. Glad that these "puppets" didn't eat or have an appetite for humans or blood.

"Paint you say?" Frank bumps in, carefully analyzing your cut. He hums in thought, "Would you mind if I poked your cut?"

"No...Can I have a band-aid or something to close it up please?"

Frank nodded and backs off as Eddie hands you needle and a thread spool. "Here, found it by some of the boxes."

"Thanks..." You said, disregarding the puppets staring at you attentively as you place the items down. Saying you'll clean it up first.

You reassure them you'll be fine as you usher your "neighbors" to the door. Gladly holding the door open for them as they say their good byes and farewells.

Wally was the last one to leave, he smiles sleepily at you. You smile back at the tiniest puppet, feeling your mouth muscles twitch when keeping up the charade.

"I'll tell Home you said 'hello', good night. Neighbor."

Welcome Home Drawing Week Challenge - Day 3

Day Three - Favorite Ship/Friendship

So uh

While I must say I do enjoy many of the ships in the fandom, I have to say one of my personal favorites is Wally x Julie. So much of the fanart for it is just so cute, and I just love the fandom’s dynamics for them. That being said, I drew those two for this one. Don’t ask me why I decided to draw them dancing, I don’t draw characters dancing very often, but for some reason these two as well as my humanoid Home design just got me drawing some groovy peeps.

Anywho, enjoy!

Honestly, aside from maybe the lil hearts, you could very well see this as a platonic dance time if you aren’t a big fan of the ship. I love the pair as buddies as well so it works either way.

I had to adjust the anatomy on these two so many times cause for some reason I just couldn’t get it to look right at first 😅 I’m happy with the end result tho!
