Rome was crumbling.
But Hopper refused to let it fall. When his strong fist was threatened, it only grew stronger. The first order of business was clear: he would decide. No one, not a single soul, could deviate from his will unless they wanted to face exile or death. The choices were stark and simple now: obey him or endure a life of torment under his unrelenting wrath.
Operations came to a halt, and workers were laid off. Hopper had carefully crafted the narrative: it was the Dreyfus family, particularly Atta, who were to blame. He had ignited the strikes and stoked the flames of hatred, resulting in a massive uprising against the perceived injustice of Hopper's sudden decision to dismantle everything. His aim was to tarnish the Dreyfus name.
He knew that on the day of the wedding, Atta would attempt to distance herself, so he ordered his men to douse the Dreyfus trucks in fuel during the wedding, effectively halting all operations and reducing everything to ashes. Even before he could step outside the wedding venue, the flames had already engulfed their targets, as if fulfilling Atta's own desires.
His next goal was crystal clear, and it revolved around power—far beyond what he currently possessed. Money and strength were no longer sufficient; he hungered for influence and desired to wade into the muddied waters of the dirtiest conscience of all: politics. This was precisely why he had chosen Claire to be by his side in his business affairs, despite their estranged relationship. He was fully aware of her striking appearance, as if heaven and hell had struck a rare accord, and it provided him with the leverage he needed to access the other side. "It's time for me to secure a position in this grand play," he declared, exhaling a stream of cigarette smoke from his lips. "Before we open these borders, I intend to claim this entire place—everything within it." Colin's ambitions expanded exponentially; he sought not merely to be a king, surrounded by servants and resources, but something greater. He aspired to be his own law—his own god.

CPN: WYB is wearing a Fly Streetwear x Nike collab top @ the airport today 🛫 it’s a local brand in Shanghai that he was also spotted visiting before.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Known as the “Godfather of Chinese Skateboarding,” Jeff Han’s commitment to the culture manifested in a brick-and-mortar shop in Shanghai that transformed the local scene. Since 1999 Fly Streetwear’s been a cornerstone of skateboarding in Greater China by fueling generations with stoke.
Tumblr media
so aside from him wearing the 🦴 necklace but hidden ( probably because it got some unwanted attention from the LA trip ) and his staple apple watch + wired headphones ( cause he is a cool kid lol and coincidentally what xz prefers ) + the creases on his shirt signaling that he folded it ( lol this is so funny when bxgs point it out but it’s one of my fave cpns )
as for the shirt, yes, i’m well aware that yibo is a fan of the brand and it’s a collab with nike so that’s a plus ( even if he can’t wear nike publicly now ). you can say that it’s only about time that he wears it — but since we are clowns, we have to make it sweet. we are sensitive when it comes to flowers because of the whole hibiscus thing so everyone is willing to analyze this choice.
Tumblr media
the flower symbolizes pure and sincere love. just the word sincere/sincerity screams yibo to me, especially how he used that word and his message of being sincere during wuming’s promotion. this flower is common in China, tho some people are saying that it’s closely linked to Chongqing, i’m not really buying too much into that — but if its is then amazing.
anyway, Welcome to Japan Yibo!!!!!! 🫶🏼

the #FREEHEIDI fic
Another fic I'll probably never write, so please adopt:
It's common fanon that the vampire world might eventually get together and overthrow the Volturi. Specifically, I like the idea of this revolution igniting around a more specific rallying point besides just "We're tired of Volturi rule."
Heidi's predicament would be perfect for this.
In Breaking Dawn, Eleazar finally put two and two together re: Aro's habit of poaching gifted vampires by persecuting their covens. He (Eleazar) talked about this openly among the Cullen witnesses. He and Edward also spoke openly about what Chelsea does. Even the Volturi's witnesses might have heard Edward say that Chelsea was trying to break their bonds. This is presumably (?) new information to those witnesses, who in turn began to spread that news throughout the greater vampire world.
So this is some good dirt on the Volturi, maybe enough push dissent into open revolution. But whoever will be orchestrating that revolution is aware that making the cause even more personal will attract more support.
So they launch the #FREEHEIDI campaign. Heidi is well-known and probably well-liked in the vampire world already, and this is the perfect time to dredge up the circumstances of her induction into the Guard. The best part of the campaign is that they don't even need Heidi's cooperation; the whole point is that her free will was taken away. Much is made about how much she's lost, how hard she's being worked, and for what dark purposes her gift might be employed. Plenty of assumptions are made and those assumptions become facts.
There are other candidates for poster victim, of course: Demetri's situation is pretty similar to Heidi's. Benjamin could stand for all the free gifted vampires who live in fear of being enslaved, especially because his youth and gentle spirit give him an air of vulnerability. Vampires like Siobhan and refugees from the American Southern Wars can testify how the Volturi failed to protect/rescue them. Or the cause could focus around the casualties of Volturi greed: the focus could be on Hilda instead of Heidi, for example. Vengeance, after all, is a powerful force in vampire society.
I think Heidi is the best candidate, though, since she is already well-known and her story is so tragic. And the fact that she's still being victimized now and still in need of rescue now will lend a powerful sense of urgency to the cause. And the fact that she can't be present to speak for herself gives her place as a figurehead a certain legendary feel to it. It makes her larger than life (unlife?).
(The #FREEHEIDI name was sort of a crackfic joke at first, but...? This could be the first time vampire culture gets interconnected digitally. If enough vampires get online* together, this campaign has the potential to gain steam quickly and also succeed through good organization. And having a catchy name that stokes everyone's righteous anger...always a strong recruitment strategy.)
The question is: who is orchestrating this campaign? And what is their true motive?
------
*If the campaign starts online, the person behind it could stay anonymous. That'll keep things interesting.

beloved von can we get something about being lesbians w starscream i wanna be her butch so bad i want to hold her purse for her 🥺
he him lesbians he him lesbians he him lesbians
Usually it's a chore to be doted on. He's not the type of mech that enjoys someone hovering, prying, trifling with his personal affairs. Anyone caught treating him more softly or with greater irreverence than others in the upper ranks gets a sharp reprimand, if they aren't shot dead first. Starscream is the Second-in-Command, a strong and resilient mech. But... Surely, he can make an exception for you.
"Mm, how about this one?" He doesn't look back for your gaze, swiping the little holoscreen to display another potential color palette. He needs to look fierce, but beautiful. Strong and elegant. A good color palette will strike fear and stoke lust in his enemies.
"I think you look gorgeous in all of them, Star." He grunts at your lack of a decisive answer. Despite the fond nickname, Starscream doesn't correct you as he would Skywarp. You're different than his trinemate. He chances a glance at your face in the mirror, only to find those lovelorn human optics that are so familiar. If he were a greener mech, he would have flushed at the clear adoration, but he's skilled at keeping vulnerable feelings to himself.
He turns sharp on his thruster heel, stalking towards you like a panther, like a predator. You don't wince or cower back, though, far too used to Starscream's demeanor and mannerisms. This is his own form of gentle and loving; the softest he can manage. He slides into your lap, moving slow and graceful, his arms twining around your neck. He's even more lovely up close, the sharp lines of his face lit by the bright red light of his optics. You can't help the great care you take with tracing your fingers down his helm vents, the characteristic shape that is all Starscream. Your eyes could roam over his face for centuries and never tire of what they find.
"Don't think you can weasel out of giving me an answer," You give him that light sort of good-natured smile that has seldom in his life been directed at his actions or words. Starscream is well aware he's desired by many mechs, and yet, despite all his contempt for organics, he has only found comfort in you; ended up with you. You're strong, in your own way, far more dashing than most mechs he's met. And despite himself... He loves you. The words churn like a pit of acid in his tank, but he loves you. Which is why you get the privilege of bossing around Genericons and the low-ranking fodder. Why anyone who complains about a human being in charge of them gets four scoremarks across the faceplate. Even if he can't say what he feels, Starscream can put you in a reasonable position of authority.
You waffle for a choice on the color palette, eyes darting between Starscream's optics, his lips, the holoscreen, before pressing that wanting mouth to his. He supposes that's as good an answer as any.

So… I have a fic idea. Of course. I mean, I need to finish my two WIP first. But I like the idea enough I write something.
It’s inspired by the fairytale The Six Swans as well as the classic 80s movie, Lady Hawke. A Regency fantasy Au. Everything’s the same except there’s magic. Should I write it? Or just kick it down the road? No idea…
It was a calculated risk Penelope Featherington took when she threw herself in front of the Queen and her trusted warlock.
A gamble, a trick, in order to protect those she loved most without revealing the truth of her heart.
It was, of course, her fault the Bridgerton Family was cursed. But that did not mean she couldn’t prevent the worst of the spell from falling upon her favorites.
Penelope, in her writing as Lady Whistledown, was certainly witty. Yet she grew ambitious, wanting more recognition, especially from her dearest friend, Eloise, who was growing tired of Whistledown’s gossip. Eloise wanted to focus on greater equality for women, magic and non-magic alike, so that they may study at the best colleges as the men do. All persons had some innate magic, although some were more gifted than others. But while warlocks were trained and celebrated, women had been burned at the stake for wishing to rise to power, and were suppressed to be nothing more than regular hedge witches and medicine women. Eloise was one such talent, unable to do more than he taught simple herbs and remedies, and even that was frowned upon since she was of noble lineage.
Penelope’s own magic manifested in her writing, easily letting opinion sway one way or the other depending on her intent. But Penelope had never intended for the Queen to be so incensed by her words that she would seek retribution. But she had, and Penelope knew she was paying a heavy price.
The worst of it was, the Bridgertons were not even aware it was her fault.
The particular pamphlet that had stoked the Queen’s fury had been about the… failed progeny of her lineage, both in securing matches and actions. She had written a particular paragraph that the Queen quoted at them as she barged into the Bridgerton home unannounced, like vengeance itself in a gown of blood red, her tight black and gray curls piled high upon her head. A crown of onyx sat atop her head, and her loyal warlock, Grimsby, by her side. With a wave of her hand she forced the entire family on their knees in the parlor, trembling against the natural burn of her magical rage. Penelope, who had been visiting Eloise to get her opinion on the scandal sheet that day, was unaffected as she was not the target. She paled, hand quavering over her mouth as Eloise and Colin shook in confusion and terror. The rest of the family was no better, all of them, including Kate and the Duke of Hastings. Violet Bridgerton, a weeping Hyacinth bent over beside her, tried to speak.
“Your Majesty, please, my children–”
“Are apparently superior to mine in every way,” Queen Charlotte remarked dryly, snapping a finger so that Grimsby handed her a folded bit of parchment. Penelope felt her stomach turn when she recognized the printing.
“‘Gentle Reader, it must be acknowledged that not only are the King and Queen’s brood quite useless in making advantageous matches, but in doing anything of real import. While the unruly sons breed like rabbits with all the whores of the realm, the daughters simply sit and simper. It appears our monarchs are nothing but figureheads. It is a sad day when the exemplary Bridgerton family act and are treated more like royalty, with their good works and even greater looks. The Viscount’s marriage to the beatific Kathani Sharma, and the Duchess of Hastings growing home of her own already surpasses the accomplishments of the Queen’s spawn in a matter of two years. Soon, the rest of the Bridgerton children will follow, under the Dowager Viscountess’ exemplary care.’”
Queen Charlotte looked up to arch an imperious eyebrow at Violet who blushed deeply.
“My Queen,” Anthony hurried to say, sweat beading at his temples. On one side of him he had Gregory tucked under his arm, the other hand clasped Kate’s fingers. “We had nothing to do with this. We would never dare claim to be better than your most esteemed family–”
“It does not matter whether you did or not,” the Queen snapped, her eyes narrowing on Anthony’s pleading face. “The damage is done, and an example must be made!”
She waved her hand airily and Francesca began to sob alongside Hyacinth, fear gripping the entire family’s hearts. Violet and Anthony were pleading as Brimsley took a step forward. Penelope looked from the Queen, who was beginning to turn her back, as Brimsley stepped forward, the blood red cloak he chose to match his Queen stepping forward, raising an arm with the golden band around his bicep that marked his status. Penelope’s brain worked quickly, flying between options faster than a bird in flight. Queen Charlotte was from Prussia, a descendent of a family of old magic, the type of magicians who loved to make deals… Queen Charlotte could never turn down a challenge when she saw one, but it could not be too obvious. No. Careful–
Penelope made a calculated choice, but she had to make it seem as random and powerful as a lightning strike.
“No!” she screamed, purposely tripping over her feet as she chose her target. With barely a glance at Eloise and Colin, she stumbled to the astonished form of Benedict Bridgerton and shielded him from view. Turning towards the lithe artist she embraced him, his face nestling above her breasts in a way that was more intimate than any encounter she had ever had. She bent her head, her fiery red curls curtaining his face as she whispered, “Please.”
She prayed he understood. That he would play along and would not hate her. Her risk was calculated. To provoke the Queen’s challenge, she also risked infuriating her more, and Penelope was not willing to risk the Bridgertons she loved most: Eloise and Colin. Her heart ached at the mere thought of putting any of the children in harm's way, and the family needed their mother, and needed the leaders that were Anthony and Daphne. And without Kate or Simon, Anthony and Daphne would crumble.
But Benedict had no spouse, Benedict was not as dear to her as Eloise, Colin, and Violet. And Benedict was no child.
So she chose her sacrificial lamb, in hopes he would rise to the challenge. And Benedict locked his gaze on her, his ocean eyes meeting her sky blue ones. She recognized the exact moment he understood, and his face set in firm resolution. Penelope’s shoulders shook with relief, her heart twisting as she recognized the fire that blazed in his eyes. The look of a man who would willingly die for his family.
All of the Bridgertons had an uncanny knack for self-sacrifice.
Swiftly he wrapped his arms around her waist, as if he was to say goodbye to all he held dear, and said just loud enough for all to hear, “My love, no, you must not–”
Penelope cupped his cheeks between her palms and tenderly kissed his forehead in silent gratitude, thought to all around it would appear like a paramour clinging to her doomed love. She tensed when she heard Eloise start, frantic, “Pen–” But she was on the other side of Daphne on the floor, and Penelope saw from the corner of her eye the oldest sister grip her Eloise’s knee in a silent plea. Penelope dared not look at Colin.
“What is this?”
Turning her face, head bowed, toward the Queen’s rich voice, Penelope kept Benedict shielded with her body.
“Please, your majesty, I beg you to spare him! I–” Penelope closed her eyes and breathed deeply, feeling tears sting her eyes and spill down her cheeks. Colin’s face swirled in her mind as she said, “I love him.”
She heard the Queen tut in amusement, and the swish of the older woman’s skirts move across the floor. A firm grip took hold of her chin, forcing Penelope’s face up.
“Look at me, little Featherington.”
Penelope opened her eyes to see the Queen’s usually brown gaze glow a molten amber, analyzing her for falsehood. Penelope held her breath, hoping there was just enough truth to her words to pass. She had not specifically identified the “him” she had referred to.
Penelope felt the burn of Queen Charlotte’s magic flow and surge under her skin. Benedict’s grip on her waist tightened, and Penelope moved her hands to squeeze his own in response. Soon the amber dripped from the Queen’s irises, the chocolate brown returning. She smirked and Penelope shivered under her assessing stare.
“Interesting,” the Queen remarked. “I tell you what, child. Let us test your love for this man and his family.”
With an airy wave, Brimsley was by her side, his short, stout form never once hindering the fear he inspired. Brimsley and the Queen appeared to be having a silent conversation, completely possible when loyalty and magical bonds were formed between two fated people. While the Queen was bound to her husband by romantic love, the bond between the Queen and her most loyal servant was a kinship that inspired absolute awe in all who beheld them.
Suddenly Brimsley moved his short arms in a swift upward motion and both Benedict and Penelope were forced to their feet. Brimsley’s magic, similar to the Queen’s own, blazed painfully as it forced them to stand upright. Benedict was behind Penelope, towering over her, and with a grunt of exertion he gripped her hips in his hands, trying to soothe the pain with his own power, like cooling water. It was a mere trickle, but it was a small comfort.
“I shall give you one exact rotation of the earth around the sun,” the Queen said, “To break the curse that shall be placed on your family, as well as the one that shall be placed on the two of you.”
“What?” Benedict huffed, his throat tight, sweat dripping down his neck. “How is that–”
“Fair?” The Queen cackled. “Dear Mister Bridgerton, nothing about this is fair. That is not the point!” She flicked her fingers and with an almighty crack Benedict’s head whipped back as if he had been punched in the face. Penelope gasped, and Benedict’s family screamed, Violet’s cry most heartbreaking of all.
“Please, please, we shall go along. Just don’t hurt him,” Penelope pleaded, daring to look up at her. “I beg you, if you must hurt someone, hurt me.”
“No–” Benedict choked, blood trickling down his nose just as Colin and Eloise yelped, “Pen!”
The Queen and Brimsley shared a conspiratorial smile before she continued.
“As I was saying, one rotation around the sun. During that time the two of you will have to find me three items from across the British Isles: the saddle of the trusted steed of Niamh’s mortal love Oisín, proof of love yielded to an ash tree, and the beating hearts of one who has loved and one who has lost. Bring these items to the sacred site of the Coldrum Long Barrow at dusk, and your curses shall be lifted.”
The Queen chuckled as if it was a game, and she was the benevolent gamemaster. In a sense, she was. Penelope was very aware that she could have cursed them or killed them and be done with it.
“What is our curse?” Penelope asked and when the Queen raised a perfectly arched brow, Penelope went on. “I think Benedict and I need to know what our handicap will be.”
“I concede your point,” the Queen admitted. “But let's get a look at what the two of you will be fighting for first, shall we?”
With a nod, Brimsley’s irises shimmered copper before he brought his hands up and across in successive, staccato movements. Benedict and Penelope turned in horror to see the Bridgerton family’s faces contorted in silent screams of terror as their bodies bent and contorted, bones breaking and reforming as long white feathers sprouted from raw, irritated skin. Clothes ripped and Benedict screamed as his mother and siblings transformed into ten swans of various size, shape, and color. Their plumage was stained bright pink from the blood they lost as the feathers emerged, and Benedict stumbled to the swan that was once Anthony, large and stark white, honking weakly when Benedict went to rest his palm on his soft head.
Penelope stood there, frozen, and she thought she was going to be sick.
“Lady Danbury will not be happy that her beloved godson is among them,” the Queen remarked absently. “But I shall explain it is for the best. It is good the Duke and Duchesses children are with her today. Two cygnets would be quite tragic.”
When Penelope’s silent tears would not cease, and Benedict’s cries did not quiet, the Queen rolled her eyes.
“Oh stop your annoying worrying. They shall be safe in my menagerie, well fed and given shelter. I am being quite merciful, do you not agree?”
Her narrowed brows signaled to Penelope what she was required to say. Penelope gritted her teeth, before curtsying, her knees wobbling and her stomach roiling as she forced out, “Most merciful, Your Majesty. Thank you.”
Penelope straightened and walked forward, gently but firmly pulling Benedict away from his feathered family as they flapped their wings helplessly on the floor. She turned Benedict and used her small hand to push Benedict into a bow. Benedict knew what he must do, and he cursed his weakness as he said, flatly, “Thank you, Your Majesty.”
“Now,” Queen Charlotte said, clapping her hands and that now familiar burns flooded her veins again Penelope and Benedict were forced to stand upright, like little soldiers. “My two little lovers, your curse shall be quite special. For this mission you shall always be together. You cannot go more than 10 leagues from each other without feeling intense pain. Yet, forever apart. I have a fondness for animals, you see. And Brimsley here is quite good at making them. By day one of you shall be an animal while the other remains human. As the sun sets, you shall switch places. The cycle will continue every day until you break the curse, or forever if you do not.”
She laughed, high-pitched and shrill and Penelope had to physically fight back a wince.
“I really am quite merciful, do you not agree, Brimsley?”
“The most merciful and gracious, Your Majesty,” Brimsley said heartily. “Giving these two such an opportunity.”
“What creatures are you to force us to be?” Benedict ground out, visibly shaking in barely controlled rage. His face was flushed, his face crusted with dried blood, and Penelope could feel the quickening of his pulse through his wrist under her thumb. She stroked it once, trying to calm him with just a hint of her own magic, a fluttering of wind through the nerves.
“That shall be decided by your souls,” Brimsley said, and with a mighty crack of his knuckles, copper tendrils flooded his eyes again and he began to move. White hot pain enveloped Penelope’s body and she could hear herself screaming, yet she felt so separated from her own body. It felt like knives were shoving themselves up and outward from her skin, and she felt her bones break and disintegrate before they reformed into smaller forms. Her mouth elongated and sharpened, and soon she was cawing.
Cawing–
She turned her new eyes this way and that, her vision strangely sharp as she extended black wings with a strange, fiery red sheen. She could see Benedict shaking, collapsed on the ground from the aftermath of the curse. Light shown through the windows of the parlor and the cruel giggling of the Queen echoed around the room. Benedict extended trembling fingers towards her and she hopped on her small talons to be embraced by his large palms. He held her to her to his nose and it was there in the reflection of his glassy eyes that she saw herself.
Staring back at her was a large, raven, with unnaturally light blue eyes.

My Longest Most Detailed Out Of Body Experience Yet
I experienced the most dramatic Out of Body Experience (OBE) in the last few weeks. It was extremely long and detailed. And when I came out of it, I felt thrilled with the experience, particularly because I remembered so much of it.
Previous such experiences were fleeting. They came in flashes I could barely remember. However, as I practiced, these flashes gradually increased in duration. Still, they weren’t long-lasting. But they did come in increasing numbers.
We all enjoy such experiences. But our physical senses distort what’s really happening. What’s really happening is we all exist in infinite dimensions. They all happen at the same time. Our awareness moves among all these, even though waking consciousness doesn’t experience that.
The only reason waking consciousness doesn’t is because we train it to focus here. We train it to focus only in this dimension. Meanwhile, other “parts” of us flow easily between all our multi-dimensional experience.
Consciously becoming aware of that flowing is an OBE.
Everyone does it
Since all consciousness flows this way, anyone can do what I’m doing. It just takes practice. A Positively Focused practice soothes rigid attention to this dimension. It softens our focus so we can experience more of what we are. As that happens, signs show us our progress. OBEs are one such sign.
Here are examples of fleeting OBEs I recently experienced. I keep meticulous notes on my process. As a result I can share my experiences with clients. In one sitting, on April 18 this year, I experienced seven separate projections out of my body in 30-minutes. Here’s a description of that sitting. I’ve redacted personal information.
Tumblr media
^^Brief “flashes” of my consciousness projected outside my body.
Earlier projections were more brief than these; literally just flashes. But just five days later, I enjoyed a stable, long-form experience. An experience as real as this one wherein I’m typing these words.
Again, everyone experiences such moments beneath waking focused consciousness. We just block those experiences thinking they’re of no value. But they’re of immense value. That’s because these experiences represent something powerful. They represent us coming back into the fullness of all that we are. That I AM that is our true nature.
Living waking experience from that awareness, literally everything becomes possible. Now, everything already is possible. But rigid focus on physical reality limits us. That’s because infinite possibilities happen in nonphysical, that place where we all originate including events, circumstances and other people.
When we focus less in physical reality, we tune back into that broader awareness. Then we can leverage that. We can bring it back here, in physical reality. Then we can use it to do more. We can do more with far less effort. And far more joy.
Everything is possible
That’s why I’m eager to expand my self-awareness. I want to prove to myself everything is possible. The prospect of that thrills me. And it inspires greater desire to experience more of what’s possible. Which is everything.
As I said before, OBEs are evidence. They’re signs of progress. My latest experience is a great sign. The length and extreme detail I experienced tells me I’ve significantly soothed my rigid focus. I’m more able to focus in this reality and others at the same time.
So here’s the experience I had on April 23:
Tumblr media
^^From my detailed journal: The longest OBE I’ve experienced so far
If you’re inspired to have similar experiences, I promise, it’s worthy stoking that inspiration. I find my satisfaction in life has expanded tenfold. My confidence and joy is increasing too. As is my awareness of what’s really possible.
I encourage every person so inspired to not pass up the chance to learn more about yourself! It’s so worth it. If you don’t know where to start, I can help. Contact me.

good day my internet friends, it’s just your friendly neighborhood nerd of many interests humbly inviting you to visit my side blogs should you be interested in or curious about any of these topics —
Greater Stokes Awareness ✨ >>
a Brian Stokes Mitchell appreciation blog dedicated to my favorite Sunshine Baritone ☀️ his singing, his concerts, his broadway shows and all the other places he appears like tv, movies, animated musical shows about centaurs, you know the usual. He’s my favorite human that exists on planet earth and I just think more people should be aware of his talent and wholesomeness. It’s always been my dream to document one of my deep-dive research projects and this blog is the result. The fleeting nature of broadway has me over here basically creating the Brian Stokes Mitchell internet archive and idk I’m proud of it.
Holmes x Watson ✨ >>
a blog mainly concerned with iterations of Victorian Holmes and Watson where I mostly reblog the most beautiful collection of fanart (bless the artists), post pictures of Jeremy Brett (he’s so weird and pretty and i love him like i love nature itself) and reblog tons of Granada & Victorian Holmes related gifs-clips-meta-fanvids-etc, and where I archive my nerd research by highlighting books, fics, and tv/movie adaptations of Holmes and Watson as I encounter them. Recs of all kinds are so so welcome. Feed me Seymour.
Geordie & his vicars ✨ >>
an episode-by-episode highlight reel of DI Geordie Keating from the show Grantchester as played by one of my favorite faces of ever, Mr. Robson Green including gifs, screenshots, and clips. I’m currently on season 5 in my rewatch. I started this page because I did not find what I considered to be a sufficient amount of Geordie love on these internets and I’m secretly hoping that a talented fan vidder will use my chaotic episode guide to make the best fanvid of all time

Americans stereotype because of their geographical ignorance
What are the main causes of the use of stereotypes by people from Western society, (particularly North Americans) and how does the domestic emphasis on American geography/history in schools, leading to geographic illiteracy contribute to this phenomenon? By understanding the results of this educational/cultural approach and the propagation of stereotypes in popular culture this essay seeks to cut American stereotyping by its roots. The thesis is backed up by various articles and authors.
USA citizens attribute stereotypes to other countries for many reasons. Although American stereotyping can be attributed to factors highlighted by Bruce Stokes in his examination of the US people's perceptions of Japan, USA citizens attribute stereotypes to other countries for many other reasons. This exemplifies the generalization, exaggeration, and selective perception of foreign cultures by Americans. In this example, we will analyze the stereotypes Americans hold of the Japanese (mostly positive), associating them with attributes like hard and honest. This favorable perception is supported by means of over 90% of Americans linking the Japanese with being hardworking. Negative stereotypes like intolerant, aggressive, or selfish, are less common. Stokes' findings underscore the impact of stereotypes on international relations, trade, diplomacy, and cultural exchange. Finding mutual understanding between cultures is one of the most important objectives of current society. A good example of how beating these stereotypes can change our society for the better is the story of Daryl Davis, a black musician who convinced over 200 members of the Ku Klux Klan to leave the clan by focusing on individual characteristics rather than group identity. The psychological and literal forces behind stereotyping need to be directly targeted and methods such as storytelling and personal connections need to be implemented to break down stereotypes and build empathy.
Patriotism focuses education on domestic affairs, making Americans geographically ignorant. However, despite the USA having a high school system world ranking, patriotism coupled with nationalism, common in the United States, reinforces the insular educational system, perpetuating North Americans' focus on domestic geography and culture." This exacerbates stereotyping, as familiarity with other countries reduces the tendency to rely on false or exaggerated stereotypes. Zach Fitzner's article underscores the visible geographical illiteracy among USA’s population, illustrating a root problem of their global knowledge deficit. The issue extends beyond schools, affecting college-educated individuals and adults, as evidenced by studies that reveal a significant lack of understanding of global geography.
This ignorance impacts geopolitics and foreign affairs.  Although, this ignorance not only fuels stereotyping but also directly impacts U.S. policy decisions and national security. The inability of Americans to answer crucial geopolitical questions, such as the global presence of U.S. troops or political alliances. Furthermore, all of these pose a threat to foreign policy. But can it lead to ill-informed decisions affecting international affairs and national security?. Fitzner's research emphasizes the need to reform geography education in American schools, as a greater focus on current global events is vital to bridge the gap between historical knowledge and contemporary global issues.
In conclusion, the widespread American practice of stereotyping is intrinsically linked to geographic illiteracy. 🌌THE LONGEST NIGHT🌌 Be wary and be aware. The longest night approaches. It is easy to slide into the night terror or the shadow of depression at this time. Many of us teeter there already, exhausted by giving light even while we survive the darkness around us. Hang in there. Keep the fires burning. You from the stars, you have bounced from constellation to constellation in search of a new place to rest. It may not feel like it at this moment but that place is here and that place is now. Sitting at the bottom of the empty well, with only a scrap of night sky as a promise. You don’t see the full map, the journey you have traced to this point and the trajectory you will take as you move inexorably into the future. There is still a vigil. Even our most holy teachers feel the weight they have been carrying and must withdraw to take test. What is the answer? Is this winter not darker than all the others? Can we still believe in the light when blindfolded and hidden from the rays of the sun. We do not have the sun but we do have the fire. The fire within and without. And when you leave this current darkness, step by step, weary and wondering how you keep moving forwards, it may take some time to rebuild. Make sure you leave in the shadows what belongs in the shadows. Because the greater the darkness, the greater the light to come. Here in the shadows, wings wrapped tightly around me, I feel you children of the sun and stars. Stay strong, stay you, stoke the fire, keep its embers alight. We hold vigil for the return of the sun. In the year 2024, a time besieged by shadows of anguish and tales of trials, there stands a solitary figure, resolute in carving a path unique and unworn. This soul, you, embark on a journey not just of transformation, but of reclamation, a venture to reclaim the self, in its most authentic and vibrant form.
Your resolve, about an unyielding force, propels you towards a physical metamorphosis, a change that resonates deeply with your spirit. The pursuit of a boob job, not a frivolous whim, but a profound step in aligning your outer self with the inner truth, a truth that whispers of beauty and confidence, hitherto unexplored.
Amidst this personal revolution, the ambition to juggle a multitude of roles emerges. To sustain a full-time job while nurturing the seeds of your own store and music, is analogous to dancing gracefully upon a tightrope of time and responsibility. Yet, in this dance, you find rhythm and purpose, a testament to your resilience and multifaceted prowess.
The year past, a turbulence of pain, serves as a forge in which your resolve was tempered. To heal from the scars of yesteryears is not merely to close wounds, but to emerge stronger, more enlightened from the crucible of past afflictions. This healing, a journey in itself, becomes a beacon, guiding you back to a track of stability and certainty.
In a world echoing with sighs of despair and narratives of suffering, your creed is to envision a life unbound by conventional chains. You see a horizon beyond the prescribed, a realm where the impossible is merely untried. This belief, that each soul harbors potential far greater than what is often perceived, becomes your mantra.
To embody beauty and charm, for you, is not an endeavor in vanity, but a challenge that stokes the fires of self-confidence. It's a conscious choice to embrace an aspect of self that demands courage and self-love, a move to quell the disquiet of dysphoria, to cultivate a self-image that reflects your true self.
In this quest for empowerment, you acknowledge a profound truth, the realization that our greatest ally and confidant is often ourselves. In a world where consciousness is a mystery shared by all yet understood by none, you anchor your existence in the certainty of your own awareness.
As you stride forward into this year, your goals are not just milestones to be achieved, but beacons of light guiding you towards a version of yourself that is empowered, healed, and resolutely beautiful. In this journey, you're not just transforming, you're redefining the very essence of who you are and what you can become.

Addressing these knowledge gaps is imperative to create an informed and globally aware society. Understanding how nations perceive each other has implications for international relations and geopolitics in an increasingly globalized world. To work towards stronger, more cooperative global relationships, both Americans and the international community must prioritize a deeper understanding of each other's cultures and societies.

STOKING YOUR PASSION
When you become hungry for God, activities that used to comfort and feed you lose their attraction. Unhealthy substitutes no longer satisfy you as they once did. You are being drawn by the Holy Spirit to discover that Jesus is your source, your food, your delight, your passion, for it's time to make Him your passion!
We do not live as the spiritually blind do – we come to understand our Christ identity, as one who is born again in Christ Jesus.  We want the glory of Christ to shine on us ever brighter, illuminating greater knowledge and greater understanding of His purpose for our life.  God’s desire is to fill our hungry hearts so that we may do exceedingly and abundantly above what we can think or ask.
One sign of hunger for God is that you become aware you have lost intensity in your faith. You may be able to look back and see a past time in which you were more passionately in love with God than you are right now. Now, you miss the fire and zeal you once had. This is what happened to the church of Laodicea (Revelation 3:14-22). Once upon a time, their love for Jesus had been their supreme focus, but they had lost their appetite. They had gone off the ecstasy and into the mind-numbing world of sloth because they had not come to understand their Christ calling and how to bear fruit that remains for His Kingdom.

Man of La Mancha follows the trials and adventures of Don Quixote, who is delusional. He fights windmills believing that they are actual human opponents. He only gains self-awareness when he is confronted with mirrors that reflect back his true image, an apt metaphor for attaining insight in therapy through self-reflection guided by a clinician.
There is a strong argument to be made for musicals being the perfect art form for exploring mental health. Theater allows the audience into the characters’ inner lives through dialogue and song. When words alone are insufficient—a song begins. The combination of words and music allow us a deeper understanding of the people inhabiting the world on stage and thus a greater understanding of ourselves.
Best,

The Reality of EV Two-wheelers- what is said about it by an Insider?
Tumblr media
India's population adores motorcycles. They like traveling, particularly to mountainous and hilly regions. All age groups, including students and working professionals, like using electric vehicles on Indian roadways, two-wheelers (such as bikes, mopeds, and scooters) are the norm.
People prefer two-wheelers over four-wheelers because they can move about more readily in congested areas and on non-motorized routes. Two-wheelers are also preferred since they are far more economical and need less upkeep than automobiles.
Vehicles are a fundamental need for people to move and deliver commodities, but they also hurt the environment.
Researchers have discovered a solution in the form of electric scooters to address the environmental dangers posed by carbon dioxide emissions and the usage of oil-based fuel. They respect the environment.
What fundamental changes have been made to electric vehicles?
E-bikes possess Greater Gear Ratio
Customers are drawn to the automobile because of its outstanding design.
Tubeless Electric two-wheelers employ tires that are lightweight and use less energy.
It is distinctive and ecologically beneficial since just one motor is used to recharge the batteries.
Electric vehicles are the ideal fuel substitute:
Electric scooters, which are the ideal replacement for gasoline-powered automobiles, have increased dramatically in India. All current automobiles need gasoline, and the price of fuel is rising daily.
Researchers have an excellent way for electric scooters to reduce their fuel costs and decrease pollution. The engine that burns fuel is one of humanity's greatest inventions.
The cost of an electric scooter in Kolkata is lower. At 15% of the price of a litre of gasoline, it will provide the same range as a petrol scooter.
EV Two-Wheelers significantly impact the market:
India's market for electric two-wheelers is growing daily. The rising general knowledge of emissions of greenhouse gases and environmental damage is the main driver of the market's rapid growth. Electric vehicles offer a significant potential to lessen reliance on crude oil as fuel.
The government has developed several EV initiatives that have stoked consumer enthusiasm in purchasing an increasing number of EVs.
Because of government incentives, the affordability of EVs, the long-term savings on crude oil, and their environmental friendliness, electric vehicle sales are on the rise in India.
The market size and growth prospects for the years 2021–2025 are provided by the study of the electric two-wheeler market in India.
The following are the main drivers of the Indian market for electric two-wheelers:
In surrounding locations, EV prices are becoming more affordable.
Government initiatives are being increased, and long-term crude oil savings are being combined with environmental friendliness.
Increasing awareness of environmental degradation and greenhouse gas emissions.
Government and business cooperation in the development and production of electric vehicles.
Problems with electric vehicles:
The infrastructure for electric scooters is the problem that is most often discussed. The most necessary component for EVs is the charging stations, which are not always present. Due to the lack of charging stations, we are unable to utilize electric vehicles on highways.
The charging time is the other significant disadvantage. A couple of hours are required to fully charge an electric scooter. People in India are always pressed for time and cannot wait for charging for a lengthy period.
It is more difficult for residents in apartment buildings to charge their electric scooters.
Although many electric bikes have detachable batteries, recharging an electric bike is still more laborious than refueling a scooter.
Two-wheelers powered by electricity are more costly than those powered by gasoline. The most highly rated two-wheelers use pricey lithium-ion batteries, which makes them expensive EVs with slower speeds than gasoline-powered scooters.
The current lack of information on the precise cost of EV services makes them a significant difficulty.
Customers are unaware of the financial benefits the government offers on electric two-wheelers, and the remainder knows nothing about the reliability and after-sales services of EVs.
The weak road and sophisticated logistical infrastructure in India are another barrier for EVs and autonomous scooters.
The Evolution of Future Technology:
The automotive sector is aggressively pursuing technological advancements and strengthening its capacity to address environmental problems.
Cleaner and faster transportation together with urgently required greenhouse gas emission reductions in the transportation industry will be the future of e-scooters in Kolkata.
The infrastructure and technologies for electric vehicles are now the focus of research. They will keep working to lower manufacturing costs and boost battery capacity.
Mobility in the future is expected to be quiet, efficient, and much better for the environment. Public procurement is anticipated to be a significant driver in the next year.
Metropolitan communities will see this transformation as a result of the timely adoption, electrification of current scooters, and expansion of the charging infrastructure.
Conclusion
In conclusion, delving into the reality of EV two-wheelers through the perspective of an insider has shed light on the remarkable advancements and challenges within this burgeoning industry. The insider's insights have underscored the undeniable potential of electric two-wheelers in revolutionizing urban transportation, offering eco-friendly and cost-effective alternatives to conventional fossil-fuel-powered vehicles.
