The Dream Alchemist | March Update:

Hello! This month's screenshots show a couple side characters available in Alasdair’s route. The first shows Nova getting a touch jealous when someone pets her cat, the second is the beginning of a scene where Nova gets chatted up in front of cat-Alasdair.

Every romance needs just a little jealousy to keep things interesting.

I’m playing around with a tailored sex scene, as in Alasdair asks lots of questions about what the player might be into, and the scene changes depending on what the answers are. I’m not sure if I want to sneak them into the dialog from the beginning of the game, or just have Alasdair directly ask beforehand – since that’s something he’d be comfortable doing anyway.

The first way might be a pain in the butt to find, especially for anyone playing around with how that scene could turn out differently and will have to keep reloading to find them all.

The second way, which I’m leaning towards, would be kind of amusing, because Alasdair would have no qualms about directly asking what Nova’s kinks are. How Nova reacts to those questions is another matter, however.

So, where am I this month? Art is finished! Yay! April will be a big writing month, finishing off the last scenes of Alasdair’s route, lots of editing, reading and rereading. I’m hoping to have Alasdair’s route complete at the end of May, but early June at the very latest.

I’m not going to do a percentage thingie this month, just know that I’m almost done!

Two Girls playing doctor at art-studio I'm drawing in, what the actual is going on there?

They're operating on a drawing manequin, you know, the wooden one. One girl plays the surgeon/doctor while other one is the assistant. They're so invested, I heard the assistant continuosly try to give the Patient some laxatives, even when Doctor was having a talk with the Patient because he died.

Update:Now they discuss which one will be fired for killing the Patient. All of this is happening over some kind of tea party table with cups and tea and tubes of paint, with vintage christmas music playing, what is going on.

Additionally, overly sexualized depictions of scantily clad female video game characters (such as Tomb Raider's Lara Croft) may not appeal to some girls[3].

The Dream Alchemist | December update

Happy New Year!

Felix’s route release is next week on the 8th of January, you'll be able to download it here!

Alasdair’s route now is underway. This is the final route in The Dream Alchemist.

Alasdair’s suspicion that King Erik of Ssovhi is being steered towards war is more than likely wholly accurate. He has extended Nova a helping hand in discovering more, but when she accepted that help, he seemed unusually withdrawn.

Nova puts this to the back of her mind as she and Alasdair travel across the country to the school of magic in search of more information.

Drawn to the slightly mysterious, deeply ambiguous man with feline mannerisms, Nova learns more about who is and where he’s come from, and in doing so, his private lifestyle in his tower begins to take on a whole new meaning.

Will Nova take a chance on Alasdair and risk uncovering more than she bargained for?

So, where how are we progressing on Alasdair’s route?

Writing: 23k words or about 60% done on first draft.

Code: 40% done.

Art: 5/16 Backgrounds done. A few side characters from other routes will make a comeback in this route but with updated clothing. Nova has two new outfits in this route which are done, and Alasdair needs a new outfit too, I think, for fun.

My goal is a mid-2023 release for Alasdair’s route, and then I can start assembling the routes for a whole game release.
