It was yet another excruciatingly hot day in the land of Edo, and Gintoki was not exactly having the time of his life. He lay on the couch, fully sprawled out and lazily fanned himself with that week's JUMP manga. He let out another guttural groan and threw a shoe at shinpachi, hitting him in the head.
'' Oi, be of use and go find us something to cool ourselves with."
Poor Shinpachi rubbed his head, scowling at him. "Broke as you are, you're the one with the funds here you know?"
Having given up on the possibility of negotiation, gintoki picked himself up and made his way to the door.
"Where are you headed?" kagura questioned.
"I'm getting us some ice lollies, it's all we can afford anyway."
And so, gintoki headed out on the street, dragging his feet in a lazy demeanor and looking for the ice lollipop vendor. After eventually finding him, he bought a few, popped one in his mouth and started making his way back home.
Something brought his journey back to a halt though, or rather, someone.
There you were, moving boxes in to the house across the street, with some help from the moving truck drivers. You were clad in your scrubs, indicating that you were either heading to, or coming from work. The beads of sweat on your forehead and slightly disheveled hair suggested the latter though.
You and the workers were wrapping things up as gintoki got closer to passing your residence. He noticed that you rushed into your house and came back out with a plate of what seemed to be....homemade strawberry shortcake.
You offered some to the workers and flashed them a bright smile. They eagerly accepted, got in their truck, and rode away.
You noticed a curious pair of eyes set on you, and turned to acknowledge them.
"Hey there, you live around here?" you asked, greeting him with a wave.
"Huh? oh yeah yeah, right around the block actually, I run the odd jobs place." He said, staring into the sky and scratching his head, trying to feign nonchalance.
"I've heard quite a few things about you guys." you announced
"Our reputation precedes us, that could be either a good or bad thing." Gintoki pondered.
"Good things." you continued, almost as if you could read his mind.
"Ha, I see, though I find that hard to believe..." His mind drifted to his less-than efficient partners and their lackluster resumé. "So you're a nurse, right?"
"What gave that away?" You joked "but yes, I am one, now if you excuse me, I have to get myself out of these scrubs. It was nice meeting you...?"
"Gintoki. Sakata Gintoki."
"Pleasure, I'm (name)"
Days passed by since gintoki's encounter with the new captivating neighbor. He often found himself thinking about you and the delicious treats you'd bake from time to time, they were so aromatic, he could smell them when he stepped outside. He also found himself thinking about the warm smile you'd flash people and wondered what it would feel like to be a cause for one.
Gintoki then thought of what he felt was the most brilliant idea he's had in a while. "KAGURA." he shouted.
"What?" Kagura entered the room with sleepy eyes.
"I need you to injure me."
"Is that because you want the nice lady down the block to treat you? She's way out of your league and wouldn't settle for you, you also carry with you the stench of poverty whereve-"
"Can you do it or no? Goddamn it." His patience was clearly running out.
"Fine..." Kagura then knocked gintoki out clean, with a quick hit to his left ankle. Even though he was in tooth-gritting pain, he was still a man on a mission, so he made his way out the house and towards the direction of your house.
"ARGHHHHH" He winced, holding his head up in pain and limping.
you were taking your bag out of your car, preparing to head inside when you heard someone shout in what seemed to be agonizing pain. It was your neighbor Gintoki, limping around with a swollen, almost futile ankle.
"Oh my god, Gintoki are you alright?" You hurried to him, holding him by his side and heading towards your house.
"Yeah it's no biggie, just a minor injury." He answered. You helped him into your house and slowly helped him descend into the couch.
"How'd this happen?" You questioned him with concern all over your face. "Just some rascal with his motorcycle." He made up a lie on the spot. "Hmm, that's odd...there are no skid marks on the ankle."
"Yeah...I guess it was a new motorcycle..." He looked around, trying to sell his lie.
You went to work straight away, helping treat and wrap up his ankle.
Afterwards, you served him a slice of pie you had made the night before, which he enthusiastically annihilated.
"Don't do anything to strain your ankle, and you should be fine soon!" You smiled at him, glad that he was now okay.
"Yes ma'am. Thanks again for the pie, do I owe you anything?" Not that he had any business asking, as he didn't have shit to his name.
"Nope! service on the house! take care now." You sent him off, not thinking much of what just happened.
Meanwhile, Gintoki marched home, feeling triumphant over this little encounter. He already had a few ideas of what was to come next.
Over the next few weeks, he'd fake several minor injuries just so he could see you, and get a little treat out of it. At first, you were unsuspecting of him, thinking he just had a streak of bad luck, but eventually started catching on to his tactics.
One day, he stumbled in your house holding his head and groaning.
"I have the meanest concussion right now..."
"Sit on the couch, I'll treat you in a minute."
Having figured out his cunning scheme, you were planning on confronting him, but not in a direct way. You took a cold compress and started making your way towards him.
"You know...for someone with a concussion, you seem to have found your way to the couch quite easily." You inched closer, still holding the compress to his head.
"Uh..uh yeah I suppose it's a mild one." he started to look around, avoiding eye contact.
You slowly put the compress down, still looking him dead in the eye and inching closer yet again. You then pressed a firm kiss to his head, right where you were holding the compress, and watched him turn into a blushing mess.
"This should help make you feel better for now, and the next time you wanna visit, know you don't have to be 'injured' "
Gintoki just sat there, for about five minutes. Dumbfounded, and not knowing how to respond.

Greetings! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*.✧
Can i silly request the sadist trio (gin, sougo and kamui but u dont have to do all 3 if u were to pick 1 i would be okay with just gintoki lol) with an s/o who's pretty short in stature and definitely not a fighter by nature and one day they find out their s/o is strong enough to pick them up? Lolol like maybe they save them from peril by catching them bridal style or they're just happy to see them and they end up picking them up in a spinning hug on impulse but in both situations they would have an airheaded ":D" smile on their face lololol! Thank you ^_________^
Gintoki Sakata:
-His new discovery is your ruin.
-“Oh-oh so you can lift me up? I expect to be lifted up every day, is it clear?”
-Gintoki wasn’t joking, he always comes up with a dumb excuse like “my bones are old” or “I worked so much yesterday, all my muscles are sore can’t even walk”.
-All of this because not only he is a lazy ass, but also because Gintoki loves leaning his head on your shoulder or feeling your arms around him.
Okita Sougo:
-“Oh I didn’t know I was in a relationship with a gorilla” he says while you turn off the stove.
-Sob, he is always so nasty; next time let the boiling hot oil hit him instead.
-Endless teasing, from your short stature to your newfound strength, you can’t win against sadist Kaiser.
Kamui:
-So, he can fight you? If you can lift him up it means you also have enough strength to fight him, right? Right???
-He’ll match your airhead smile for all the wrong reasons.
-For real, now he wants to spar with you and we both know you will never win, not even in your best dream.
-You’ll have to run as far away from him as possible; let’s see if the strength in your legs is the same as the one in your arms…

Gintoki wonders how he got here.
The park is nearly empty at this time. A few children still run around the playground nearby and a couple strolls down the lonely path hand in hand, but the sun is already setting and most people are rushing home to enjoy dinner with their families. It’s too hard to decipher the letters of his new Shounen Jump by now and he gave up on reading anyway, the magazine long forgotten in his lap as he watches Kagura and Shinpachi chase around the meadow.
They’re laughing loudly, dodging each other’s hands and hiding behind trees and bushes, sometimes even jumping over Sadaharu who’s been dozing off since they arrived and seemingly doesn’t mind them climbing over his back. Every once in a while his left ear twitches at the sounds of their giggles and his eyes crack open to follow the kids dashing around his sleeping figure before he falls back into his slumber.
“I think we should head home soon, it’s already getting dark,” you mutter beside him. Gintoki nods blankly, only turning his head when you dig the tip of your finger into his cheeks and although his expression doesn’t change once his gaze meets yours, his heart still jumps in his chest at the sight of you wrapped tightly in his white yukata to protect yourself from the cold breeze sweeping through the park. You look so beautiful and there’s nothing he can do to stop himself from staring at you like a creep when you brush a strand of your hair behind your ear and give him a gentle smile before you scoot closer to him and snuggle into his side.
Sometimes, he’s convinced that this is just a figment of his imagination. It’s in moments like these when everything seems just a little too perfect to be real that he wonders how he got here, how his life turned out to be so beautiful after everything he’s done — the kids are laughing and you’re reaching out to grab his hand, soft and warm against his skin, a small reminder that yanks him back into reality.
“Gin, are you okay?”
“What? Yeah, don’t worry ‘bout me. I’ll get the brats, you stay here,” he croaks, shaking his head to get rid of his thoughts and turning to call out for Shinpachi and Kagura right as she trips over her own feet. “Oi! Be careful—”
The words leave his mouth before he can even think, but it’s too late.
Kagura shrieks and instinctively raises her arms to shield herself from the impact before she lands face first in the dirt and Shinpachi, who’s been grinning from ear to ear only mere seconds ago nearly stumbles into a tree when he hears her fall. Worry is written into the crease of his brows as he whips his head around to check if she’s alright, even though his glasses have fallen into the grass and his vision has turned blurry.
“Shit, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Kagura groans as she fights to get up. Mud sticks to her pale cheek, a few leaves have found their way into her tousled hair and for a moment, everything seems to be fine until her eyes search his. Tears cling to her lashes and her bottom lip begins to tremble, barely holding in a sob and Gintoki is about to jump to his feet in panic, but you’re faster.
Rushing past him, you crouch down beside the girl and pull her into a hug, one hand cupping the back of her head and the other one resting on the small of her back to draw soothing circles. Small hands wrap around your chest and dig into the yukata engulfing your body, then she buries her face in your shoulder — she’s crying, sniffling and whimpering quietly as if she isn’t quite sure whether she’s even allowed to show weakness.
Gintoki knows she’s a Yato and she endured injuries much worse than this, but at this moment, as you rock her back and forth, comforting her with loving words and a tight hug, he is once again reminded that she’s just a kid. Much like Shinpachi, she was never allowed to be just that — and like him, they had to grow up too fast, never had a childhood that wasn’t defined by blood and violence, and never had someone who looks out for them until they met him.
And look, he doesn’t really think he’s made for this whole single dad thing he’s got going on since he picked them both up, but he’s been trying his best to make them feel safe and loved, and even though it’s quite exhausting to keep them both fed when his own wallet is empty, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He does have to admit that he’s grateful you came along though. Somehow, you completed their little family and it becomes so much clearer to him as he watches you inspect Kagura’s injury, the fabric of her pants ripped and soaked with the blood from her grazed knee, carefully dabbing the wound with a tissue to clean away any dirt.
She’ll get a bandaid at home, a pretty pink set with little dogs on them he got from the store a while ago, in case his kids got hurt because that’s what they are now — they are his kids and this is his family, not the one he was born with, but the one he chose.
“C’mon, let’s go home,” you encourage Kagura, grabbing her smaller hand to help her onto her feet. “I’ll buy you sukonbu on our way, okay?”
He groans loudly. These brats will cost him an arm and a leg and his pockets were already empty before they even came along.
“Right, Gintoki?” You give him a pointed look as if you could read his thoughts and he nods defeatedly, already searching for some coins in his worn wallet. Whatever makes you happy.

A Date With Shinsuke
A/N: this is my very first fic, so please go easy on me! thank you to @lilac-5ky for helping me with some ideas and for giving me your honest opinion! i don't really have anything else to say except the lack of shinsuke fics is criminal!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The warm air floating in through the window let you know it was a spring morning and you woke up to the lapping of the waves against the Kiheitai ship. You knew you were in Edo, for one reason or another. Probably so the infamous Takasugi Shinsuke could have a meeting with some high ranking official about supporting your cause. The Takasugi Shinsuke just so also happened to be your boyfriend. Although, what he meant to you could never fit that word.
You wish the man would take a break from his hellbent ideas on revenge and just take a relaxing day to do something fun.
When you awoke you already knew Shinsuke would be gone. He was always gone in the mornings because he was such an early riser, instilled in him from his Shoka Sonjuku days. You were the only one who he entrusted his past to and how he felt about his late mentor, Yoshida Shouyou.
You slowly made your way out of bed to get ready and find Shinsuke. He was probably still in a meeting with the other Kiheitai members, so there was no rush. You put on your favorite kimono that he bought you for your first birthday spent together. It was red with golden cherry blossoms cascading down it. Shinsuke always told you that you looked good in red and he would never admit it to anyone else, but when you wore the color it drove him wild. You pinned half of your hair back with a hairpin that he also bought for you and put your black boots on.
Making your way out into the main hall of the ship, you ran into Bansai leaving the meeting.
“Hey Bansai, where’s Shinsuke?”
“Looking over some papers, I daresay.”
“Of course he is. Thanks!”
Bansai waved you off as you made your way to Shinsuke’s room.
You opened the door and immediately made your way over to where he was sitting at his desk. Wrapping your arms around him from behind, you whispered in his ear, “There’s my hard worker.”
Shinsuke was used to your little antics so he just rolled his eyes, a little smile creeping onto his face.
“There’s my lovely, yet bothersome Y/N.”
“Hey! I’m not bothersome, you just work too much.” You retorted back at him.
He just hummed in return, not once looking up from his papers. Although, maybe it was better that way because then he wouldn’t see the look on your face currently. Shinsuke always told you, you had this certain look on your face when you were getting ready to ask a question, but were ultimately scared to.
You needed a little bit of time to steel yourself before asking him if he wanted to attend Hanami that night — celebrating the beginning of the cherry tree season below a sky of vivid pink; who wouldn’t want that? But looking at the man in front of you, you already had your answer. You very well couldn’t ask Shinsuke if he was looking right at you, so it was better this way.
“Soooo.. I was thinking…”
“Lets see, you’re wearing your favorite kimono that I bought you for your birthday and it has cherry blossoms on it. It also happens to be the start of spring, which also happens to be the time when the cherry blossom trees are in bloom. I’m assuming this is your way of asking me if we can attend Hanami?”
Damn, Shinsuke knew you way too well for your liking sometimes.
Before he could start spouting off the many reasons as to why he couldn’t go or shouldn’t go, you cut him off.
“I know, I know. What if the people see you? What if the Shinsengumi find you? I get it, I do. But, I want you to have fun and take a break! We never go out anymore and I miss that. We’ll be careful. Please.”
Shinsuke heaves out a sigh and turns around in his chair to face you, your puppy dog eyes and pouted lip at the ready. As soon as he took you in, he let out a little laugh.
“I hate how you think giving me that look will work every time, but..” He drags his hands down his face in exhaustion.
“Buuuuut?”
“But it does.”
“So.. we’re going then?” Hope sparkles in your eyes as you sit down beside him on the floor, head resting comfortably on his lap.
With a smirk on his face and his green eye boring into you from above, “I guess I don’t have a choice.”
Tumblr media
The cool night air of the spring season bats against your bare legs as you walk along the streets of Edo, with Shinsuke following close beside you. He donned a sedge hat and a plain haori over his otherwise noticeable yukata. The streets are aligned with multiple vendors selling their wares, string lights hung, and of course the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Groups of people shuffle by the two of you as you make your way smoothly through the bustle. Each vendor pulls you in with something that you find interesting. The many smells of different foods floods your senses as you go from vendor to vendor.
Shinsuke stops beside you at a vendor, his breath fanning against your neck as he whispers, “You had to pick the most popular Hanami spot, didn’t you?”
“It was close by, and that way, if we need to make a run for it, we’re not far from the ship.”
He sighs in agitation as someone accidentally bumps into him. You can clearly see his annoyance and let out a little giggle.
“Shinsuke… its fine, I promise. Just take a deep breath and try to enjoy yourself.”
“Enjoy myself? I am a wanted terrorist, you know?”
You turn away from him with a small smile on your face to receive the food and drinks that you ordered for the two of you. Struggling to hold both of your items, he gives in and helps you carry them. Walking side by side again you make your way through the crowd to find a spot to sit underneath the cherry blossoms. You find a secluded spot away from most of the other people and sit down underneath the shade.
Shinsuke stops a few feet away from you, “I’ll be right back.”
You look up at him with worry and curiousness in your eyes.
“Is everything okay?”
“I just remembered something that I forgot about.”
You side eye him as he starts to make the trek back to the vendors. What could he possibly be doing? He wouldn’t just leave you here by yourself to enjoy the cherry blossoms because he is afraid of getting caught, would he? Of course he wouldn’t and you knew better than that! Shinsuke is not the type to do that and he always longs to be by your side, the way you always long to be beside his. So what exactly was he doing? All you could do was wait for him to come back.
Tumblr media
The food you bought for yourself is nothing but trash now. Fireflies lazily flit around your vision as you stare aimlessly into the distance still waiting for Shinsuke to make his return. Its only been fifteen minutes at most, but it feels like an eternity. Your hazy vision slips over couples sharing loving whispers and soft smiles. Being alone makes your mind start to wander and you start to think about what it would be like if Shinsuke wasn’t a wanted terrorist. What it would be like if you two were just another normal couple able to bask in the daylight without potentially getting thrown in jail. Without having to hide in back alleys and making runs for it.
Your ears perk up at one of the sickeningly loving couples making their loud laughter known. You start to think about the very first time you’ve ever heard Shinsuke genuinely laugh like that and softly smile. The way his right eye squeezed shut, crinkles forming in the crease, his pure white teeth showing, cheeks flushed with a bright shade of pink. Your earlier thought of being a normal couple fades when you realize that you don’t want or need anyone but Shinsuke. That’s enough for you. He’s enough for you. You wouldn’t trade all of the close calls that you’ve faced together for anything in the world.
Light footsteps are picked up by your hearing and you know its Shinsuke. A warm, loving smile stretches your lips wide as you know his every move, every sound.
“Welcome back.”
A faint blush is detectable and he grows somewhat shy.
“Sorry I took so long, I didn’t anticipate it.”
Sitting down gently beside you, its obvious that he is hiding something behind his back. He takes a quick sip of the sake thats sitting precariously on the ground. Face still flushed he pushes a small black box towards you, “Here.”
“W-what’s this?” Eyes widening in semi shock, you poise your fingers to take the top off.
The lid being fully removed, you find whatever is in the box is carefully protected inside of pretty pink tissue paper. Cherry blossom pink. Fingers move nimbly to reach the contents hidden inside. Out of the corner of your eye, Shinsuke eyes you albeit anxiously. The soft pads of your fingers reach a beautifully crafted kanzashi and you let out a soft gasp. The color is a light red, bordering on pink. Gently removing it from the box and holding it delicately in your hands, you realize there is a string of cherry blossoms hanging from a golden pin. There are golden accents throughout the kanzashi, from the pin down to the string that holds the cherry blossom flowers together. You can’t stop staring at the absolutely exquisite gift in your hands. Looking over at Shinsuke in awe and wonder, you try to speak a coherent sentence.
“Sh-Shinsuke… this is so beautiful! What.. why…?”
You’re so flustered and touched by the gift that droplets of water form in the corners of your eyes.
Shinsuke scoots closer and gently leans into you, a loving smile on his soft lips.
“I wanted you to remember this night. I wanted to get you something that you’d have to cherish from this night forever.”
Your eyes shoot up to look into his green orb, “Oh…you didn’t.. you didn’t have to, really.”
He shrugs in amusement, “I wanted to.” He tries to hide the soft shade of pink that starts to grace his cheeks as he looks away from you, taking the kanzashi out of your hands and whispers, “turn around.” You do as you’re told, turning around with a smile as you feel Shinsuke’s fingers nimbly fix the kanzashi in your hair. Taking your face gently in his hands and putting a finger under your chin to tilt your head up to look at him, he smiles.
“Beautiful…”
The chill spring air of the night helps cool your heated cheeks down. Hands fumbling for his own, you move closer to him and he places a piece of your hair behind your ear.
You gather yourself and take a deep sigh, “I truly don’t know what to say.. I love it!”
Shinsuke continues to gently play with your hair while staring into your eyes.
“You don’t have to say anything.”
Shinsuke has almost never been one for public displays of affection, so you’re a bit taken aback when he passionately kisses you in front of the people gathered near you. You doubt they’re paying much attention, but your cheeks flame up just the same; the way his soft lips caress yours, your tongues dancing together. You can hear his breathing get heavier as he places his hand on your cheek to pull you in closer.
Breaking away, having a goofy smile on your face, “You kissed me..”
Shinsuke rolls his eyes and scoffs, “Yes.”
“In public!”
“Don’t go making a big deal out of it because its not going to be an all the time thing.”
You fling your arms around his neck as you give him a warm embrace. Placing your lips beside his ear you whisper softly, “Its okay, I like keeping our intimate moments between the two of us, anyway… it makes them more special.” You place a quick peck on his cheek before leaning back to look at him.
“I love you.”
Shinsuke doesn’t return it but you don’t need to hear him say it to know he feels the same about you. His actions make that clear enough as he smiles at you and pulls you into his side. His arms snake around your waist as he rests his chin gently atop your head.
“Happy Hanami..” Shinsuke whispers just loud enough for you to hear him as you both watch the cherry blossoms fall and welcome in spring and it’s new beginnings.

Hi there! Your writing is awesome!!! I love your headcanons and fics as they feel so spot on ❤️❤️❤️
I have a request if you are accepting - imma be angsty today - do you have any headcanons for Gintoki when he realizes he loves someone who was in love with him too late?
Thank you for this awesome blog!!! Makes my day to see posts!
A/N: Hi! It's been ages since I've done a request, but I was feeling generous (bad about being this lazy) and thought I'd give it a shot! Turned out more like a mini thing than headcanons lmao oops. HOPE THIS WAS GOOD ENOUGH, HAVEN'T WRITTEN ANYTHING FOR GINTOKI IN AGES, and THANK YOU FOR YOUR WONDERFUL WORDS! Hearing such lovely words is enough to make my day!
Warning: Didn't proofread .-. Angst
Gintoki was a bastard. Nothing new or foreign in particular. Everyone acquainted to the silver-haired samurai could name at least 10 negative traits of his, struggling to name just one good quality that would redeem him.
Everyone, except of you, that was. You didn't see Gintoki as the lazy, parasitic, sleazy, sadistic, gambling-addicted drunkard (wow he really has a lot of negatives) they made him out to be. You saw Gintoki for the kindhearted man that he was. The one who went around risking the color of his soul just to save another. The one who was whatever those around him wanted him to be: a friend, a brother, a hero, and why not a lover?
Admiration turned into Infatuation, tricking your heart into thinking you loved him. You'd linger around Yorozuya, offloading whatever menial task you could think of just for the chance to see him. Be it cleaning the leaves from your porch, killing that one cockroach that had sneaked in (one that had him running laps around the house while screaming for help) and even being your plus one to the wedding of a friend.
You dreamed of a day when you wouldn't have to come up with excuses for his company, and seeing as there were only so many times you could call him up to unplug your toilet before you ran low on cash, you decided to pour your heart out.
Kagura and Shinpachi knew. So when you asked Gintoki if he could meet you at your place on his own, they dolled him up and sent him your way with a "Good Luck" whose meaning he didn't quite understood until he saw you cradling a heart shaped box of chocolates-- plush cheeks flushing red, while pink lips curved into a shy smile.
"Gin-toki," the name shattered on your tongue. "I... I love you. Go out with me, please."
He stared at you for quite a while, as if you'd just uttered the world's most complicated joke. He wasn't sure if he should laugh or ask you if he knew what kind of crap you'd spat, and him being eager to verify his reputation chose the second.
"The yard seems clean enough to me. I'll be going now," he said, rejecting not just you, but the boxes of chocolate as it fell open onto the ground.
Tumblr media
The next few hours were the hardest. Sleeping on the same pillow where you daydreamed all about your future with him felt like sleeping on glasses of your shattered dreams. Not even an answer, not a single explanation. He'd broken your heart with such ease that it terrified you. How plausible was it that in this new era of canine looking Amanto and flying cars some alien had taken over his body and wore it around like a heart-less, soul-less puppet?
Denial.
It was easier to deny all that had transpired and pretended it never happened. You even passed by Yorozuya the next morning, willing to give this another chance, telling yourself that man wasn't Gintoki. But when you saw his apathetic face reading the newest Jump and picking his nose even in your presence, you couldn't stop the tears from streaming down your puffy eyes.
Anger.
It didn't take long for you to join the ranks of Gintoki's haters, seeing the man as nothing short of the Devil himself. Every terrible thing that happened, you pinned on him. Bumping onto the kitchen cabinet? He was jinxing you from afar. Running out of gas in the middle of town? He must have stolen it while you were asleep. A terrorist attack nearby? Weren't those goons Gintoki's old war-pals? Every natural phenomena, every misfortune of this world and the next was Gintoki's fault. Love? The mere notion that you once loved him made you laugh. Hatred was all you had left.
Bargaining
With each passing day, you felt your fury redirecting at you, gnawing and clawing at your insides, while small "What If's" plagued your mind like maggots. What if you hadn't confessed that day? What if instead of your place you'd called him to a restaurant? What if you'd gotten a different brand of chocolates? What if--
Depression
You couldn't remember when the last time you'd gotten out of bed was. Balled up tissues framed the four corners of the room, the tears contained in them enough to cause a shipwreck. You didn't want to see anyone anymore, afraid that if you did you'd spot a resemblance between them and the man your heart longed to see the most. You didn't hate him anymore... you missed him. You missed the sound of his name so badly that it threaded itself between pitiful chokes and sobs like a rosary.
You missed him.
Acceptance
The days in your calendar kept shifting until a month had passed. Taking baby steps, you'd done your best to return to an inchoate routine. You woke up, washed your teeth, showered, checked the functionality of your toilet's flush, ate breakfast and went to work, where you stayed until the stack of paperwork diminished, and until you were rewarded for your efforts in the form of a promotion. Your coworkers cheered for you, and for a moment life felt good again because you'd stopped searching for the familiar hue of a silver mop.
You were fine.
Tumblr media
The route Gintoki took to and from the pachinko parlor he frequented was predetermined. On hot days, he'd stop by that one ice cream joint with the world's greatest (and most affordable) soft serve. On cold days, he'd trade that for a warm bowl of red bean soup. Then he'd be on his way to the convenient store to grab the latest Jump and finish his day with a drink at the old hag's place.
Gintoki always took the same route, except of that one day he hadn't. The worn-out soles of his black boots carried him in the opposite direction of all those places and even home, bringing him to stand outside the two-floor house with the porch that needing cleaning regardless of season; your house.
He hadn't heard anything from you since God knows how long, and why would he? No one needed to remind him how much of a jerk he'd been, for the words in his brain repeated like a broken record he couldn't afford fixing. He was worse than a jerk. A despicable caricature of a man that couldn't own to the fact that he'd grown fond of you the same way you'd come to love him.
The look of absolute endearment whenever your eyes spotted him, a look that didn't change despite the crudeness of his actions. He loved that. The shaky fluctuations in your tone whenever he'd sit close enough to feel your hair tingling his face. He loved that, too. The smile that shone as bright as the sun itself and the little hand that waved at him -gosh, how he longed to hold that hand in his and compare the difference in size- goodbye. He loved that all so much. Too much. He loved you.
Or else why would he be standing out there when his beloved weather girl had issued a thunderstorm warning?
With his hands buried in his pockets, Gintoki circled the picket fence of your porch, head tilting between the wooden cracks at a chance to see your face. How was he supposed to start? Would an apology do? Would letting himself be beaten by that rusty rake or drenched from head to toe by your garden's hose do? How many "I love you's" would he need to spell out to convince you he was any less of a bastard than you made him out to be? What would it take for your forgiveness?
His fingers weaved through locks of silver, threatening to pluck them out. If he told you the truth, that he thought you deserved something better than a basket case samurai with no more than 300 yen in his name, he'd seem like a complete idiot. If he told you that the ghosts of the past he'd tried so hard to evade were catching up to him, you'd mistake him for a coward. And if he selfishly grabbed your hand and forced it against his chest, he knew he'd never be able to hear the three little words that directly countered those you'd said before.
"Gintoki, what are you doing here?"
The track of guilt gave way to the sweetest melody known to his ears, hope daring spur him on. He wore his gentlest smile and turned around to face you, the same hope digging like a knife inside his wretched heart at the sight of fingers -ten, in total- intertwined together, five of them belonging to you and the other to a man whose face didn't matter. All that mattered was the joy plastered on your pursed lips, one he saw fade away the second your eyes locked. One that was meant for him no more.
"The yard seems clean enough to me," he pointed beyond the fence, boots diving in the first of Ketsuno Ana's warnings as the sorrowful record resumed.
"I'll be going now."

How about s/o has been trying to convince him to stop his plans but they took a hit for Takasugi! The injury is severe but it's not fatal! As much as they disagree with him, they still love him dearly. He had trouble staying calm because he already lost his teacher so he doesn't want to lose them too! After they recovered, he promised to abort his plans & be with them! Sorry for making it cliche though XD What do you think about it?
I think that this hits the spot— thank you for responding to the call for angst prompt!
Takasugi Shinsuke Headcanons:
The truth that Takasugi knows: He has no one by his side. There is nothing left to love, Shouyou is gone. Gintoki killed him. Shouyou is gone, and so, the world is ending. The world is ending, and he will make sure of it. Nothing matters. Katsura is gone. Sakamoto is gone. And so is Gintoki. They are gone, they left him. He is alone. There is no one by his side. He is by no one's side. Shouyou's gone. There is nothing left to love, there is no one to love. Not even you. Especially not you.
And so, the world must end.
You don't understand him, this, that burning need in him, the terrible thirst; no matter how many times he had wrapped his hand around your throat and squeezed, you just don't understand. You don't understand that he is not by your side. You share his food, his drink, his conversation, his bed. You think you share his heart, but when in reality, that is impossible. You won't understand, you refuse to believe, that you are not by his side, that you won’t eventually leave him. But neither is Bansai. Nor Matako. Nor Henpeita. None of them are actually by his side because he won't let them. He won't let you be there either.
You, who can still smile with your soul. You, who can still look straight at him in the right eye, and then the left socket, and still unwittingly call it beautiful, him beautiful, and mean it. You, who can still see the world as whole, all the good, and the bad— and still, still see it worth something salvaging. You, who has peered into his empty chest, and found something that isn't there— you looked at nothing and still, still found it worth saving.
You don't understand.
You are not stupid, but you are foolish. Foolish enough to follow a man who can't love you back. Foolish to try and convince him that he isn't alone. Foolish to fall in front of Gintoki's sword, arms protectively spread wide, like some badly written hero. Like Shouyou.
But this time, Gintoki is not killing anybody. He reels back with a heavy curse, jerking his sword, but red still erupts. Red blooms on the ground and on your clothes, on his. Red is the color of the world ending. And the world is ending, and he was the reason for it.
Fool, fool, fool.
"Fool," he hisses, hand trembling so bad he can't control it from grasping your soft cheek. Limp in his arms, you're crying. The bitter tears wetting his digging thumb. The way you're looking at him, the terrible crimson soaking your chest, the way you're saying I'm sorry, I'm okay, I'm okay— he realizes that the tears aren't coming from you. It's him.
Fool, fool, fool.
What the truth actually is: Shouyou is gone. Gintoki killed him. Katsura is gone. Sakamoto is gone. And so is Gintoki. They are gone, but they never left him. Shouyou is dead. But he never left him either. He is not alone. He was never alone. Everyone that matters is all there, right by his side. Everything matters. It always did, too much. Everyone is by his side, and he will be besides theirs. He loves them. And you, especially you.
(He tells you so. In that hospital bed. His forehead pressed against yours, his wrappings in the dust bin. All of him for all of you. A promise to last lifetimes.)
The world is not ending, it moves on. And so will he.
Takasugi is one foolish dude, Mr. Know-It-All.

A/N: omg this request is so cute I loved writing it! I hope you like it too
GINTOKI X READER SPENDING TIME WITH KAGURA AND SHINPACHI
Tumblr media
• For Gin the best moments for both of you are when you're relaxing and being lazy.
• There's nothing better than lying down and cuddling
• And honestly he loves it when Kagura and Shinpachi are home too
• Kagura making jokes, Shinpachi embarrassed and you laughing
• It's pure mess and chaos
•That's all he can ask for and it makes his heart warm
• Gin had a sad past and didn't think he could ever have a family again, someone to take care of.
• But watching the three of you have fun he realizes he might still have someone to love and love him.
• Please love and take care of him
• A wistful little smile covers his lips
• "Is there a problem, love?" you ask worried
• "I love you, idiot."
• "I love you too!"
• He will smile after seeing an affectionate face appear on you and will hug you so tight
• Gin is at home with the ones he loves and he can't ask for anything more than that.

Parents needs to keep their doors locked when the kids are home
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Shinpachi walks into a tense situation in odd jobs
A/N: I wrote something to pass the time for the next chapter on my other story. It might suck cause I wrote it over night.
Pairing: Gintoki x reader
Tumblr media
Shinpachi has walked into an awkward tense situation this morning at Yorozuya. He stepped into the main room to see cartera on one couch, looking to be in the very foul and angry mood while eating her breakfast and Gintoki, looking like a kid that got caught doing something wrong, slowly eating his portion of breakfast that was on the table, sitting on the other couch. And then there was y/n who was bringing out the food trying her best to look happy. Trying to act like nothing isn't wrong right now, like she can't sense the very awkward tense in this room as well.
Shinpachi was confused but not at the same time because he was used to odd situations happening at Yorozuya but ever since y/n came and applied to work here, some peace has come here and everything can be relatively normal, well more normal compared to their type of 'normal'. Y/n's job there is something similar to a secretary but she's more like a second house wife ,the first one being Shinpachi of course. While everyone else was doing jobs outside of the building she would maintain the phones, clean the house and cook the meals;
of course she was doing this because she also stayed here alongside gin and Kagura. But even so, she's kind of the only responsible one here and actually does her job; because of that and her kind and well mannered attitude (also the fact that she's a very pretty young lady) Yorozuya has been busier and gotten more clients coming in.
She used to this kinda behavior and has seen it many times, more than wanted since living here but this time something was off about her, that's what Shinpachi thought when he sat down next to Kagura. Y/n had her usual happy look but it looked tense and forced. She also seemed distracted because she didn't even greet Shinpachi at the door like normal. He had to cough to catch everyone's attention to his presence.
"Ah! I'm sorry Shinpachi-kun. I didn't hear you come in. Good morning to you." Y/n say with an embarrassed blush on her face. "Y-yeah morning Pachi." Gintoki says with his head down still, while Kagura was too busy angrily chewing her food. Now that he was sitting with everyone, the tension is so thick and suffocating you can cut it with a butcher knife.
'This is too much. I need to end this now.' Shinpachi thought to himself while trying to find the cause of the problem.
It doesn't take much to figure out that this whole thing is between Gintoki and Kagura. He must have done something to make her mad but he does that on the daily. Even so, she never looked this upset and he looks way too guilty for it to be one of their daily fights. And then there y/n too. She plays a part in this too but what is it? looks like the only way to find out is just ask. "Did something happen before I got here?" Hearing that question made the adults stop whatever they were doing out of nervousness and started to sweat . Totally not suspicious.
"What are you talking about, Shinpachi-kun?" Y/n say with a nervous smile. "Nothing happened. Right, Gin-san?" She asked Gintoki to get the heat off her, which he didn't like judging by the glare he gave her. "Y-yeah. Everything's fine here. Nothing happened. Just breakfast. " As he said that, he started shoving food in his mouth. "If that's the case, then why is Kagura-chan so pissed off?" Gintoki starts to think quickly to avoid (more) suspicion from Shinpachi. "Well, you know she is at that age where girls are pissed for no reason. Probably just on her per-" a hand smacked him in the face to shut him up.
From those responses, Shinpachi understands that the only one who would give a straight answer would be Kagura. Turning to look at the young girl, he sees that her anger has gone up throughout the conversation. She glaring at Gintoki so hard, Shinpachi surprised his head didn't explode yet. He didn't want to accidentally make her more mad but he needed to know what's going on.
"Kagura-chan?" She turns towards him with her still mad face. "Why are you mad?" Silence followed the question because she still chewed her food . She swallowed it and spoke for the first time today. "Gin-chan is keeping y/n-nee from me." She says with a pout. 'Huh' Shin thought to himself. "What do you mean by that?" "Exactly what I said, glasses! Gin-chan is hogging y/n-nee from and has been all morning!" Kagura yelled at Shinpachi. She reached her breaking point.
Since y/n been working at odd jobs, Kagura has grown attached to her. She sees her like an older sister and like a little sister, she always wants to be near her. So it makes sense for her to get upset if she thinks gin is spending too much time with her but this mad? Something is missing here. "Kagura-chan! Calm down! What do you mean by that? How is he keeping y/n-san to himself?" "Last night I had a nightmare, so I want to sleep with y/n-nee to feel better because she said I can. But when I try to go in the room, Gin-chan wouldn't let me in. He kept saying how she was busy and couldn't see me." Kagura told Shinpachi which confused him a bit. Why won't gin just let her see y/n? Doesn't make sense.
That is until he adds everything up. The adults being nervous. Not letting her in the room. Saying she is busy. Oh…
He looks at Gintoki and sees marks on her neck. Red marks. Oh… now he gets it.
"Kagura-chan. What he meant was she was really tired from the day before and you shouldn't disturb her. That's all." Y/n chimes in, cluing in on what Shinpachi is doing "yeah Kagura. I was super tired yesterday and I get really cranky when I don't get enough sleep. Gin wasn't keeping me from you. I would never let him."
That seems to satisfy Kagura since her mood changes from mad to happy in an instant. Shinpachi suggests taking Sadaharu for a walk together and she says a quick okay before rushing out with the giant dog. When she was gone, Shinpachi turned to the adults in the room with an emotionless stare that sent a shiver down both of their spine. "If you guys are going to do something like that, at least do it when Kagura isn't home." And left to catch up with the girl.

men who constantly send you money so you can get your nails and lashes done. of course it’s for your own benefit, but also for his. it turns him on—they’re perfect for giving head. his cock hardens when he feels your hand around him with beautifully done nails. not too long and not too short, just the perfect size to feel them with your grip. you give his tip kitty licks as your other hand makes its way to his abdomen, feeling his tense muscles.
“that’s it, such good little slut.” dirty praises leaving his lips. “eyes up princess” and you listened. your doe eyes decorated with lashes, every blink made you look more innocent and desperate. “so pretty f’me, on your knees, with my cock in your mouth, yeah” every word making you want more, so you take in his length and start bobbing your head. both hands on each side of his hips, as you deep throat him. his large hands gripping your hair and pulling you in. your throat aching from the roughness, your breath is limited but that doesn’t stop him. “keep lookin’ at me” your eyes flutter as you make contact with him once again. the lashes adorning your eyes that were filled with tears.
he hisses when he feels your nails on his hips; tagged with the gagging sound that echoed the room. his length pulses in your mouth as his climax reaches, small curses fall from his mouth when he pulls you in one last time. there is a loud ‘pop’ sound when he removes himself from you and releases his hot creamy cum on your face. tapping his cock on your lips to open wide and drink every drop. his strong grip picks you from the floor and throws you onto the bed. “you sucked me dry, sweetheart. now it’s my turn.” he growls as he buries his head in your needy cunt. your pretty nails playing with his hair for more, like a good little slut.

Hey there ❤️
May i request some hijikata × reader who's an incredible cook that doesn't mind his mayonnaise addiction but also makes him lots of hijikata's specials and how his reaction will be 🥰🥰
Tumblr media
a/n: thanks for my first ever request, anon! hope this doesn't disappoint. Sorry this took me a while to put out, I've been balancing my internship and two summer courses, all while trying to not pass out at 8PM (love that for me!)
.・。.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・..・。.・゜✭・..・。.・
You and Hijikata met when you were working at the small restaurant right around the corner. He frequented it all the time because of the homey, cozy feel that the restaurant had, which he definitely appreciated after being bombarded with his shinsengumi force partners' incompetence all day. He also did not mind ample servings of his favorite condiment, mayonnaise, and a certain waitress that he took a liking over the course of his many visits.
After he eventually worked up the courage to ask you out, you two quickly took a liking to each other's company, and grew comfortable around each other. However, there was one thing that piqued your interest.
His concerning mayonnaise addiction.
You took notice of it the day you made him a plate of chicken parm for date night, and he took out a whole tub of mayonnaise, piling dollops upon each other on the dish, resulting in an absolute monstrosity. You were almost offended but you loved him too much to be.
"This tastes impeccable, thank you love." His plate was almost clean. "You mean with or without the excessive mayonnaise?" you nudged his shoulder, teasing him. "I mean... I'd have loved it either way, I do love my mayo though."
You also noticed how he'd order a truckload of mayonnaise when he ordered his bowls of rice before you started dating. Putting two and two together, you concluded that he must've been eating his rice with an ungodly amount of mayonnaise.
Ever since then, you've been incorporating the condiment in the meals you'd make for him, and he always subtly expressed his gratitude. Time had flown by and you came to the realization that your one year anniversary was approaching, so you had to get your gears turning to think of something special.
Hijikata was a simple man, and for that, you were grateful. You shouldn't have been racking your brain trying to think of what to do for him, but you were too much of a perfectionist to give it a rest. Then it dawned upon you.
You just had to make him his special dish that he, oh, so loved. He didn't crave anything Michelin-star levelled, or anything crazy fancy. All he would yearn for is his simple bowl of seasoned rice and mayonnaise, and you figured it was a good idea to make him just that.
You planned on surprising him with the...revolting dish when he came back from a shinsengumi meeting, and you did.
He came home to the inviting aroma of your scented sage candle, and a dimly lit room with the inviting dish set on the small dining table you two shared. You were clad in the flowy little black dress that he loved on you, and had our hair in an updo.
"Well? Do you like the set-up?"
He slowly started making his way towards you, opening his arms wide open to engulf you in an embrace. "I love it." He softly said, whispering in your ear.
The dish caught his eye, and his eyes lit up. He then immediately got to digging. Hijikata really appreciated how thoughtful and observant you were, because he often had trouble expressing his feelings and emotions, and often came off as unpleasant or aloof. So you being able to pick up on the small things and take note of what he loves is something he will always be grateful for.

Could you please write a gintoki x chubby reader where the reader is a seamstress in the neighborhood and gintoki goes to her to mend her clothes 🦉🧡
Gintoki Sakata: -He always visits you because you are cheaper than most seamstresses and you treat him nicely. -His clothes are always shredded to pieces and more often than not you have to buy new fabric because the old one is too damaged. You should make him pay for it, but you do not… -But you don't mind! Mostly because Gintoki is the nicest customer you ever had. -Often Gintoki comes, using a broken handkerchief as an excuse to spend time with you. -He knows nothing about sewing but his red eyes always end up looking at your hands. -Once you start talking about food and the next day he brings you your fave. -You look down, biting your lower lip and Gin starts to worry. Did he understand wrong? He was keeping his attention while you were talking, maybe socials are really deteriorating his memory… -"Thanks Gin, but I'm on a diet." Ah. "For yourself or to make happy someone else?" "The latter." You sigh, still not looking up at him, until you hear him sitting next to you. -"Let's eat. It's been so long since I shared a meal with someone." He says with half a smile, pushing the meal he bought toward your hands. -From then on he always tries to visit you during lunchtime. At times just for a small chit-chat other times to eat together. -Gin knows he never pays for what you do, but he always make sure you know you can always count on him. -Unless you need money. You are on your own then…

The morning before you leave for the Joui war is a chilly autumn, with the last leaves barely hanging onto their branches. The four of you were to leave together: You, Gintoki, Takasugi and Katsura.
This particular morning, it is just you and Gintoki in the abandoned house that Takasugi and Katsura also lived in. Both of them have gone out for a bit. You didn’t know for what, but the house feels a little empty without the two.
Gintoki is keenly aware of you standing behind him, your eyes burning holes into his hands that are tightening his headband. He is about to attach his sword but decides to drop his hands to his sides instead, shaking them.
With his back still facing you, he spits, "Go back to Edo tonight. You have no use on the battlefield."
The monotonous banter, usually akin to a relentless fly, stings this time. It takes only a moment for him to realise the possible weight of his words. Tentatively, he looks over his shoulder at you.
Gintoki doesn't know if he is more than a friend to you, but he would carry all your burdens and sorrow if it meant you wouldn’t enter the battlefield with them. If he has to choose his life or yours, he will choose yours. He would do anything if it meant that you would tease him about his natural perm or jab him playfully at his sides again.
So, when he meets your unwavering yet melancholic gaze, he breaks the eye contact that barely lasts. His feet become a little heavier each time he sees you with that face. The more he trudges forward, the more he has to lose.
"I'm not useless. You know I can fight. Didn’t know you had such a shit impression of me."
You can, and you fight well.
“But you don’t need to fight. You should protect your ass when you can and live. You’ve always been a scared kid anyway. Oh, who was the one who used to be intimidated by me?”
You retort back, but there’s no bite in it. “Shut your ass trap. I’m not chickening out now. You sound like the one who’s scared now.”
Gintoki’s heart is trembling. He sees the grim reaper preparing for its shift to make rounds and he does not want to see you among a pile of corpses.
He flicks your forehead, takes your headband anyway and wraps it around your head. You too, carry the same pent-up fury from the Kansei Purge as everyone else. You have your grievances to air in your way too. Hell, if you asked him not to fight, he would have called you an idiot and ignored you.
His arms hover around your head as he ties a knot securely at the back of your head. Your head is almost on his chest, and his mind wanders to how close you are to him.
“It hurts.”
“Ah, sorry.”
His hands move to loosen your headband, but you rest one hand on his forearm to stop him. You stare straight into his chest and your free hand fidgets with the side of your pant leg. Gintoki realises that you are thinking about so much more than the headband.
If he could even be audacious, he thinks he knows what you are thinking of.
He tries to think of something to say. For a split moment, he even considers a hug. Even though it’s not something he has ever been good with. But before he gets to do anything at all, Takasugi creeps up from behind him.
“I can’t believe you guys. Getting all touchy-feely before the fight?”
Gintoki immediately steps back, creating some distance between the two of you. He hurls some insults at Takasugi and the two of them bicker. When Katsura returns, instead of breaking up the fight, he joins in their nonsensical argument that is not even about the two of you anymore.
You take in this scene and etch it in your mind. This is the perfect time to have time halt if it is ever possible.
The four of you set out when it was time. As you attach your sword to your side, Gintoki comes up to you with his faux nonchalance. His eyes wander everywhere for a bit, one of his hands rubs the back of his head and the other seems to be lost on what to do. "You already know this, but do me a favour and buy me some strawberry milk on your next trip to the convenience store again. Keep them in the fridge.”
He pauses as he watches your face shift from confusion to understanding.
“It has to be the Azuri brand one! Don't you dare drink it."
Your hand resting on the handle of your sheathed sword tightens.
“Okay, you better fucking come for it.”
Gintoki catches you with that melancholic smile again. He bumps your arm gently with his fist. Noticing you walk with less of a drag in your feet, he assumes it is good enough.
(You are always so difficult for him.)
Sometime towards the end of the Joui war, when the bodies all start to pile up and the soldiers are all weary, he loses sight of you. His eyes can no longer find the silhouette he has become so familiar with and his ears cannot find the rhythm of your steps that he has memorised by heart. You do not return to base when night falls.
The voices all say you’re dead and gone, but Gintoki tries to protect the flickering flame of hope in his heart as he continues to fight. You promised him a carton- no, cartons of strawberry milk. You are far from stupid to take a promise to the afterlife with you.
But when the Joui war ends, he disappears, just like everyone else. Along with the dying fire in his heart that he wilfully thought he could protect. Hope is a heavy thing to carry after all that has happened.
The Amanto, who had kept you in a dark room for what felt like weeks, releases you into a world you are no longer familiar with. You find out that it’s only been days and that you were originally to be executed the next day.
The sky is cluttered with more spaceships and the sun feels a little more cruel than you knew it to be. You walk with no aim, looking back now and then, thinking that you hear familiar voices. It goes on till the sight of the convenience store you frequented with your friends slowly pulls you back to reality. The weight of your emotions kicks in when you hear the welcome chime of the store. Your wounds start to weep and your muscles burn as you limp towards the refrigerator of cooled drinks.
With a throat full of screams you bite back, you place a few cartons of strawberry milk from the barren refrigerator of the convenience store into your arms. Large ones to keep in the fridge, small ones in the event he wants to bring it out. The counter staff asks you if you are okay while he packs your purchases, but you simply brush him off.
As you drag your unwilling feet into the town that spells a lonely journey into the future, the carton of strawberry milk treads too to its expiration date.
(How naive of you, to think Edo would be the town you could call home with everyone you cared about and the one man you loved.)
-
You wander within the city after you receive treatment, searching for a sign of anyone you know. Eventually, you traverse out of Edo.
Whenever someone mentions the Four Heavenly Kings, you find your spirit to be lifted, only to be let down without fail. It is a name that strangers use so freely and carelessly. The four you know are now only legends, reduced to mere tales. They are unreachable, even as someone who has grown with them. You start to think maybe they are dead. Maybe you have just been searching for a time that has ceased to exist.
(Besides, you may have escaped death when you were released, but you think a part of you died that day too.)
It’s a long time before you force yourself to get your shit together. When you return to Edo, you see wanted posters of Katsura everywhere, the corners already peeling. One, hangs on by a small strip of tape, at a lamp post outside a humble ramen shop on the outskirts. You get a job at this ramen shop, and you stare at Katsura’s mugshot as you work until the poster gets blown away one day. With your pay, you get by and live in a simple rented apartment nearby.
When you finally bump into Katsura himself, you think you’re seeing the distant light at the end of the winding tunnel. He manages to fill you in on a bit, but takes off soon due to his predicament. The bare, discreet conversation you have with him ends up doing the opposite of what you hoped, whiffing out the little hope you carried instead. Sakamoto is assumed to be in space, which makes you a little relieved knowing he’s living his dream. But, the fact that the whereabouts of Gintoki and Takasugi are still uncertain makes you feel you’re still at square one.
Despite the time that has passed, you still see Gintoki in many things. The Shounen Jump on the shelves. Anyone with their permed hair, even if it’s clearly artificial. And especially those fucking cartons of strawberry milk you keep. They are an anchor to your past and their tarnished, rusted edges dig into your skin. You want to throw them out so bad, but you can never bring yourself to. You stay at square one with these rotting cartons for the passing seasons.
On a chilly winter afternoon with snow that’s taking its time to fall, you find Gintoki when you pass through Kabukicho. Walking past Snack Otose, you catch a glimpse of a head of silver in your peripheral vision.
You don’t recall when this… Yorozuya Gin-Chan came to be above Snack Otose. But you always pass Kabukicho in a hurry. Maybe it has always been there.
An old lady talks to him at his door, blocking him from your view on the ground floor. But you wouldn’t mistake that natural wavy perm of silver, even though all you see are strands peeking out from the sides of the old lady.
When she walks off with a face of frustration, you withdraw into a nearby alley in a flurry. You take in the scene of Gintoki with his exasperated look. He scratches his head a little and sighs, before he goes back inside. You take it as your sign to leave.
(Gintoki sees you. And he isn’t ready to talk to you either. Not with the way your fists clench. He immediately guesses what you’re feeling, if you have not changed immensely into someone different. He shakes away the urge to approach you and convinces himself again that just knowing that you are alive and warm is enough. He is content.)
The snow does not stop even when night falls. When Gintoki returns home, he turns the television on and stretches out with his feet propped up on his work desk. The doorbell rings and he sits up. His heart throbs, in anticipation for a certain someone. He tames it. Expectation is a potential recipe for disappointment.
When he opens the door, he finds you carrying two plastic bags. Your hands are very tightly wrapped around the handles. You refuse to look up at him.
“What? Asshole crawled back up from their grave? Not happy with what you got?”
You enter the house wordlessly and he shuffles out of your path. You drop the bags on the coffee table, causing a loud thud to resound in the room.
“Hey hey, the landlady downstairs is going to complain. She already came up bitching about the rent earlier this afternoon-”
“I owe you something. Did you forget?”
You pull a small carton of strawberry milk out of the bag and set it on the table. It is worn from weather and time. You rip open the top of the carton and the straw gets yanked out of the plastic, soon finding itself in the opening.
Shoving the carton into his chest, you gather the courage to look him in the eye. The carton starts to wrinkle even more from your tightening grip. You hold it tighter, as if it would stop your tears from welling.
He notices the expiry date printed on the carton, which was more than one and a half years ago. His hand wraps around yours and he doesn’t let you slip them out.
“I don’t forget what people owe me that easily. Even if I died, I would demand for the guardians of hell to arrange a delivery to get them from you.”
Your grip loosens a little when you notice the soft, subtle smile on his face. There’s a lump in your throat again and you take a few deep breaths to stop it. The sound of the television fills the silence between the two of you for a bit.
“A little less than a year ago, I crossed paths with Zura. He told me both of you disappeared and didn’t know where you were.”
The next few words almost escape him. It makes you feel small and helpless to say it, even though he was right in front of you. “I thought maybe you died.”
A stray tear streaks down your cheek. He gently pries the milk from your hands and sets it down on the table.
(He thought you died too. Sure, without realising it, he started to carry hope in his heart again. But it felt like the weight of the world sometimes, and he had to carry it by dragging it across the ground. The possibility of you being six feet under rang so loud in his mind.
It only became lighter when he bumped into Katsura for the first time a few days ago. It was when he heard about you from Katsura. Gintoki headed down and watched you work in the ramen shop from the other side of the road. He left without approaching you. He didn’t know what he was going to say to you. Besides, seeing him could reopen old wounds and he didn’t want to do that to you. And just maybe, he was a little bit of a coward when it comes to you.
But he guesses it is all futile. You found him after all.)
With his thumb, he brushes your cheek. You notice scars on his arm that you don’t ever recall him having.
“You worry too much. It takes a lot to kill me.”
“But it hurt, didn’t it?”
It did. Even now, the wounds on his soul throb a little. He thinks he’s underestimated how much he missed you. “They’re just scratches.”
You inch towards him and put your arms around him for a hug. He tenses up at your touch, but he manages to loosen up and pats your back gently until you stop crying.
“Did you cry like that when you found Zura?”
“No.”
A stray smile tugs at the corner of his mouth. “Don’t waste your tears on Zura.”
“So you’re saying it’s worth it to cry for you?”
Gintoki’s eyes dart off in another direction. “No. Don't cry for me again.”
The way his sentence seemingly hangs thickens the air between the two of you. He scoffs and sits down on the sofa. Refusing to make eye contact with you, he rubs the back of his head and frowns.
He is still the Gintoki you committed to your memory and love. Even as time passes, he still has the same habits. Even though his fashion sense has changed, you still see him adorn the same shades. You can still see the pureness of his soul even with the haze of time. Despite the tears, you find a hearty laugh rising up your throat. So you let it out.
He freezes upon hearing your laugh and realises that he has not heard something so genuine from you for so long, even from before the two of you parted.
As he runs his fingers through his natural perm for the last time and stands up, he suggests, “Let’s go to the supermarket. We should get new cartons.”
You glance at the clock. “Sorry, maybe not today. It takes a while to get to the supermarket and I need to get back to my apartment too. I live on the outskirts.”
“I’ll send you back. I have a scooter now.”
“Wow, I assumed you couldn’t pay rent. Where did you get the money for that? Did you rob a bank? It’s well within the capabilities of the White Yaksha.”
His eyebrow twitches. “Quit yapping and move along. I bargained hard and relentlessly for a lower price.”
As both of you make your way to the scooter, you continue to make more snarky comments about how he got the scooter. When you see the scooter, you decide to make some more comments about the scooter, though you actually think it is a fine thing. He smacks you on the head, eliciting a giggle from you instead of what he thought would be a retort.
“Your home is so damned far away, you know,” Gintoki complains as he turns on the engine.
“You were the one who offered.”
Without much thought, you tease him as you sit behind him, “Then, where should I stay? With you?”
You realise what you’ve asked and you’re about to make a comment to brush it off. But Gintoki plops a helmet on your head before you can do so, and starts the scooter. As he begins to drive off, you place your hands tentatively on his waist. He throws a glance over his shoulder at you. “Hold on tight and don’t let go.”
It doesn’t take long for you to get used to your hand on him and he can feel your tense hands slowly relax. With his eyes on the road in front of him, he’s not 100% sure, but he thinks you’re leaning in a little.
(The scooter doesn’t go as fast as those flashy sports cars the rich use to zoom around town. But you still get to the convenience store a lot quicker than you expected. It’s too fast, you feel like you will never have enough time with him.
Even though he is right in front of you, the lost time makes the vast distance between the two of you so clear. It is one that you cannot cross now with your arms, even if you gathered the courage to wrap them wholly and tightly around him. The thought that he might disappear again will gnaw at you for a while.
That night, he pays for the strawberry milk. The two of you take the last two cartons of the Azuri brand he very much prefers. You take your time to sip on it during the ride, watching his wavy hair let loose in the wind and catch the lights of the slowly dwindling traffic around you.)
-
Gintoki gives you a face when he looks up from the grocery bag on the coffee table. His eyes fill with incredulity and his lips downturn dramatically. "What is this?"
You put up an air of innocence, teasing in a sing-song voice, "What's what?"
"THIS!"
He pulls out a carton of milk from the grocery bag with two fingers gripping it and waves it around hysterically.
"This is plain milk!"
"You're stating the obvious."
He drops the carton back into the grocery bag and yells out in exasperation, hands grasping at nothing in the air. You stifle a laugh.
"Still gives you the protein that you so absolutely love in your strawberry milk, doesn't it?"
He plops down on the sofa and crosses his arms. Eyebrow twitching, he begins a lecture.
"Listen [name]. Plain milk is not the same as strawberry milk. Strawberry milk is NOT just syrup or sugar getting added into milk."
You nod, pursing your lips so as not to let out a laugh at the bewildering he says and the ones he might say.
His doctor highly recommended that he cut down on sugar. Based on your internet searches, strawberry-flavoured milk has more sugar than plain ones. And because you love your boyfriend so much, you decide to take it into your own hands to buy plain milk which would be much better for his health. Watching him become exasperated over it is just a huge cherry on top.
Sensing that you found his reasoning ridiculous, he whines and throws himself face down onto his sofa. You don’t bother to suppress your laughter when he starts kicking his feet.
Out of nowhere, he jumps off the sofa and slides his wooden sword into his belt. “You did this on purpose, didn’t you? You offered to buy it because you planned this, right? Because the doctor said I had to reduce my sugar intake.”
How dare you, his beloved, commit such an act of betrayal to him! He adds a little shout in between his rambling. Then, adds, “Sugar is life, [name]! We have to go buy them now!”
He tugs at your arm and you refuse to budge. Initially, you reason that he can’t leave the house because Yorozuya’s opening hours aren’t over yet. As he tugs harder, you start to mock him for having such a sweet tooth, how he’s weak for being unable to go by without strawberry milk and how ungrateful he is for you. He retorts back saying you shouldn’t have backstabbed your boyfriend like that, and there’s nothing sinful with having a sweet tooth. In the end, he lifts you by your waist with his arm and out of the house into the spring evening. Conscious of the looks of onlookers, you smack him on his back harder and harder till he complains about how it hurts and puts you down.
Gintoki continues to lecture you about the strawberry milk as the two of you walk to the convenience store that opened months ago. In the five-minute walk, you let him go on about the difference and hum now and then as an indication that you are listening. At the same time, you imagine the pink cherry blossom buds overhead. You imagine the falling sakura blooms around him. A mental image of the blossoms in his silver hair surfaces.
When he finishes his sentence, you comment, “I think you could be a strawberry parfait too.”
“Huh?”
It’s now your turn to talk in this walk and Gintoki sees the vision you’re having. He’s about to make a dirty joke, but you jab him at his side before he can say it.
When the two of you enter the store, he runs straight to the refrigerator. You trail behind him, already finding his arms full of large and small Maiji milk cartons although it has only been one minute.
It has become normal for Gintoki to take the Maiji brand carton without a second thought. You can no longer find the Azuri brand milk in Edo anymore, and possibly the whole of Japan. It took him a little getting used to and some whining to you, but he has come to enjoy it.
When you watch him try to arrange and squeeze everything into the basket, you think maybe your plan to help him cut down on sugar has backfired. Mans simply trying to stock up at this point. You end up having to do some convincing in that narrow aisle, with some other shoppers, for this manchild to put a few back.
From the refrigerator to the cashier and back to Yorozuya, Gintoki keeps pouting. You poke his cheek with his free hand, but all you get is a “hmph”. He’s not going to give in so easily! It takes so much more than paying for his sweets and saying he looks like a strawberry parfait!!
You think about offering to pay for his parfait, but you tell yourself not to give in to him. You want him to live a long life and die of old age, not go out way before his time in agony because of sugar.
Gintoki plops down at the corner of the sofa when the two of you return to Yorozuya. He starts reading the latest copy of Shounen Jump with one leg crossed on the sofa, sipping loudly on his milk in an attempt to irritate you. You sit on the other corner with your drink and magazine you bought yourself earlier, and you prop your feet on top of his lap. He smacks your feet once, but he lets you be as he always does. On other days, he enjoys doing it to you too.
Every now and then, you look up to see him engrossed in his manga. Sometimes when you blink, you still see images of the past versions of him with Katsura and Takasugi at his side.
You get up and give him a kiss on the cheek, before heading to the stairs outside. He’s a bit caught off guard, but you leave him to process it.
On the street downstairs, a few kids scramble around, presumably to head home. Your mind wanders to the three boys you grew up with. There are still days you think you wake from your nap in the classroom to the three boys duking it out in the dojo. But when your bleary vision in the morning clears and you notice that the ceiling above is different from the one at Shoka Sonjuku, reality settles. It’s just a ruckus made by some kids outside. You stare at the ceiling, remembering that Takasugi is at large with his new comrades. You remember that Zura now has his own faction, which both you and Gintoki reject his relentless invitations to. You remember that Shoyo-sensei is gone.
You hear the sliding door open behind you and Gintoki leans on the part of the ledge beside you.
“What’s up?”
“Nothing.”
Gintoki notices you running your finger back and forth on the grooved surface of the ledge. He places a kiss on your temple. A little hesitant at first, but he goes for it. He then shifts behind you slightly, resting his hand on top of yours. With his steady frame behind you, you lean back a little on him.
(Gintoki wonders what Shoyo-sensei would think about the two of you. Hopefully, he approves, even though Shoyo had witnessed him disturbing you in class and outside of it. Hell, Shoyo even thought Gintoki was bullying you at one point and Gintoki had gone to lengths to prove otherwise. He would also argue that he was teasing you to get you to break out of your shell. Though in hindsight, maybe he had been a little mean about a few things.)
The wish to return to the bygone days still squeezes your heart with its agony. The days that Shoka Sonjuku was your home. Its invisible hands still try to grasp at the memories that are becoming ever-distant and drifting away in the stream of time. It is always the worst when you find resemblances that you find hard to ignore.
But everyone has found their place in this new era, including you. The night he dropped you off after reuniting, he asked you’ll come to Yorozuya again. You said you’d try, but no promises because it was far. Though, as you watched his receding figure ride back into the brightly lit town you once detested, you knew you would.
You're glad you did. After all, you found a place with Gintoki. A place, in this still unfamiliar city, that you can finally bring yourself to call home again.

Heyyyy😏 can you write something for Gintoki where you get in an argument with him (cause he’s a jerk) and then he says something so back handed to you (cause he’s a jerk) and you just walk of and like cry or sumn cause it hurt so much and he just tries to apologize and it gets a little emotional idk I just need something that’ll hurt me a little bit 😔😣
A/N: Hi! I feel like Gintoki is more likely to apologize through his action than his words, and so his apology is mostly done than said :p Not sure if this is super angsty, but I hope it's good enough!
Plot: Gin being a piece of shit who never cleans and upsets poor innocent reader with his attitude.
Warning: Gets a bit suggestive with language and some minor angst ig?
Arguing with Gintoki (x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
(just look at him being disgusting and cute.)
There are many reasons for one to pick a fight with Gintoki. Be it Otose arguing with him over rent delays, or Kagura and Shinpachi demanding their pay, there’s always someone at odds with the Odd Jobs’ boss.
However, when it came down to you, perhaps you had an easier time letting things slip. You’d stayed around long enough to get acclimated to all those wacky situations Gintoki involved himself in, as well as his hectic and lazy persona.
At this point, you’d earned yourself the nickname “saint” from his peers, considering how you seemed to be the only one with enough patience to put up with him. But even a saint’s patience has its limits.
When you walked into Yorouzya on a day like any other, finding an absolute war-zone where his couch once stood, not even that Buddha’s patience of yours was enough to shield your faint heart.
No way in hell would you willingly pick up his dirty underwear off the fan, or clean after the millions of empty takeout boxes residing under the kotatsu (just how much food can a person consume overnight?!), while Gintoki remained idly picking on his nose like a primadonna. This had to end.
“Gin,” you asked in a near pleading tone that went unnoticed.
“Gin?” Your second attempt was too ignored, his attention monopolized by the weather girl inside the little black screen.
Frustrated beyond compare, you threw about the first object your hands could find onto his head, leaving him with no other choice but to face you. The noodle box ended up landing like a party hat, with a string of curry dropping down his forehead. He sported a somewhat disturbed look, though that wasn’t enough to prevent him from turning back to the tv the second the noodle box fell to the floor.
“Gin!” Unable to contain your temper, you jumped to block his view.
“Huh? Y/N?” Gintoki queried as if he wasn’t even aware of your presence in prior, something that only added fuel to the fire. “What are you doing here?”
“Not cleaning your mess, that’s for sure. What’s this?” You paused to point at the underwear and then his leftovers. “And this? Who’s going to clean all this?”
“Quit nagging, it’s not even 12.” He yawned, stretching his limbs across the couch. “Kagura will probably feed them to Sadaharu, or Tama will pass by later. Just leave them be.”
You couldn’t believe in your eyes, or rather your ears. How could someone this irresponsible be running a business, when this was the kind of reception he had in store for any poor soul that dared walk in? It wasn’t as if Yorozuya was ever the pantheon of work ethics to begin with, but this was too much even for him. Feeding the trash to the dog, just what was he thinking?
“Are you for real? Why would…? Who would… ?” One unfinished sentence followed the other while you struggled to find the right words. “Nevermind. It’s no wonder no one sets foot in here nowadays. Only an idiot would choose another hare-brained idiot to handle their job for them.” You spat bitterly.
“Then I guess that makes you into an even greater idiot, Y/N. Or else you wouldn’t be showing at my doorstep to bitch about something this trivial, especially when it’s none of your concern.” He followed in the same tone, bringing the already heavy atmosphere even further down.
“It’s none of my concern whether my boyfriend’s house reeks like a dumpster? Or whether it gets infested with cockroaches? Then whose is it?” You crossed your arms over your chest. “You know, since I too spend the night here from time to time, I would appreciate if the smell of soured ramen didn’t have to compete with that of your underwear.”
Gintoki sighed in response, lazily combing through his disheveled hair with one hand. You’d always been fond of that scruffy appearance of his, but right now, all it did was add more fuel to the fire, providing you with yet another reason to stay mad at his disposition.
“And do something about your appearance already! It looks as if a crow nested in there!”
“Oi, Y/N. Is it that day of the month? I don’t remember you being such an overbearing control freak.”
“I don’t remember you being such a bum.” You argued back.
“If I’m such a bum then why do you insist on coming here?”
“Maybe I shouldn’t.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t.”
The lack of sound succeeding your heated exchange was perhaps even more disturbing than the argument itself. You got so caught up in talking back to him, that before you knew it, such regrettable words came pouring out your mouth.
“What are you standing here for?” Gintoki asked, his otherwise dead fish eyes now beaming with resentment. “The door is right there. Leave.”
Was this really… it? Was he about to forsake everything the two of you had come to be over a silly argument?
With your questions unanswered and your steps heavier than before, you paced outside Yorozuya. This definitely wasn’t the kind of time you’d hoped to spend over at his place. Part of you expected to hear his voice a final time, to receive the affirmation that this was nothing but a silly lover’s quarrel, though silence came to be your sole companion. Silence, and whatever this gut wrenching emotion was.
Little by little, you felt the oxygen within your lungs igniting you whole, slowly burning at your fuse until you couldn’t go on anymore. Crouched near the ground, all you could do was bawl right outside Otose’s bar, meekly hoping that no one was around to notice your muffled cries.
Was it frustration or was it hurt? You couldn’t tell. The only thing you knew was that this was the first time you’d ever felt such uncertainty. Shoes of different color stopped before you, each pair belonging to yet another passerby who felt entitled to shoot his look of pity your way, but not entitled enough to pry any further, to approach any closer.
It was your fault. If only you’d kept your mouth shut, then nothing would have happened. Gintoki wouldn’t get annoyed, he wouldn’t raise his voice, he wouldn’t dare say such horrible things, and he…you…
No. It was his fault for being this messy and unjust. Even if you were a bit too harsh, you acted out of genuine concern. You had no intention to watch as he festered within the four rusty walls of his house. Gintoki had always been the kind to take care of everyone, but when it came down to his own self, he seldom bothered to lift a finger.
What others attributed as mere laziness, you knew better. It was almost as if by wallowing in such unspoken misery, he was atoning for something. As if he was repenting for past sins only he knew of. Either way, his disregard for his own well-being showed in every single aspect of his lifestyle. From the sorry state of his house, to his own unkempt appearance.
You remembered of the first time you met Gin. You recalled thinking how despite his exterior, he bore resemblance to a mirror. A blurred, borderline shattered glass, be it one that let you see an image of yourself clearer than any you’d seen before. The good with the bad, the beauty and the ugliness, the flaws and the imperfections. Everything that made you into who you were was right there, delving in those maroon eyes of his.
Perhaps Gintoki was never meant to shine on his own. Perhaps his strength lied in making others shine brightest, in reflecting not the image you longed to see, but the one closest to reality.
You liked yourself when you were with him. You felt certain and grounded at the same time. That should you ever lose your way, one look at him would be enough to guide you back. You liked that, but more importantly, you liked him. That silver gleam of his was what made you fall for him in the first place.
He was right. You were overbearing and overzealous and butted in his business without thinking twice, and that was precisely why you wouldn’t give up on him. No matter what it took, you’d never quit clearing his soul off the distortions haunting it. Not before making sure that the man known as Sakata Gintoki would never grow dim, that was.
And so, you wiped the tears with the back of your hand and rose to your feet. One by one, you climbed the steps to Yorozuya all the way to the top where you stood still. What would you say to him? Apologies were never your forte and neither his. Showing up to clean his apartment as if you were part of a clean-up crew didn’t seem like a great idea either, especially when one considered the nature of your argument. What if he pushed you away again? What if he demanded that you leave?
No. No, even if he did that, there was no way you’d run. It didn’t matter if he called you names, if he dragged you outside or any of these things, really. You’d made up your mind to clean after his own mess for however long he needed you to. Until he learned to do it for himself. Until he was forced to get a real look at who he really was. That self destruction bullshit of his had to end.
Before you had the chance to contemplate any longer, the door went wide open with Gintoki appearing on the other side, evidently taken aback by your sudden reappearance.
“I-” You said in unison, each stopping at the other’s interruption.
“You-“Another failed attempt.
Taking a deep breath, you decided to blurt out everything without giving him the chance to cut in a third time. Here goes nothing.
“I’m sorry for acting like an evil mother-in-law and yelling at you the way I did. You are right, I am an overbearing control freak, but I never meant to criticize you. I felt as if that was the only way to make you listen, and I honestly can’t stand to see you living life in a swap because, Gintoki, to me you are someone very important and I only want to see you thrive. Why are you so unkind towards your own self? No matter what happened in the past, you shouldn’t let it bring you down.”
You took a short pause. Perhaps giving him a lecture about past trauma would only get him to retreat further in his shell.
“My point is, I don’t intend to stop bitching at you. Whether you like it or not, I’ll keep interfering in your business, until you stop doing yourself injustice. So please, accept my earnest concern and, for the love of god, allow me to clean your house.”
Your outburst imposed a bemused expression on his face, one that was quickly replaced by a forced snort.
“What are you talking about?” Gin leaned against the frame with his index lazily poking past the shell of his ear. “I don’t recall you paying any visits whatsoever.”
“Wait- what?”
“You play weird pranks, Y/N. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Or is this a dream you are talking about?”
It was your turn to be dumbfounded. Was this a joke or was he simply going to act as if the whole incident never occurred in the first place?
“Why are you looking at me like that? Did I grow an extra set of balls on my forehead?” He asked, patting down his head.
You brushed his comment off, unsure of what to say next. The mood had completely shifted with Gin returning to his usual “charming” self, something over which you were truthfully thankful. Of course his throwing you out meant nothing. After all, this was nothing but a silly lover’s quarrel.
“No… but looks like your wish is granted.” You jested, removing a noodle that was dangling between silver strands of hair. “It’s finally straightening up.”
Gintoki frowned, looking away while you chuckled.
“If you have the time to be running your mouth, come in already.” He mumbled before scooting to the side.
Upon entering the hallway, the first thing to catch your attention was the scent. It smelled like primrose and magnolia, the sweet vanilla essence completely taking over the foul odor previously emitted by his living room. Did someone visit him while you were gone, or did he actually douse it with perfume?
As the two of you progressed to the living room, your surprise only increased, to the point of making you wonder whether you’d entered the wrong building. Rather than encounterig the same chaos you did earlier, you found a spotless table and an even more spotless couch. The noodle boxes, the plastic cutlery, even the half torn underwear; they had all disappeared.
If you didn’t know any better, you’d place your bet on a second Amanto invasion happening, but the moment you took notice in the half concealed mop lurking between the closet’s folds, there was no doubt anymore. He had cleaned. Gintoki had actually cleaned!
“Gin…” His name was cut in half by a sole sob.
“What are you crying for?” He asked, genuinely confused by your reaction.
“I can’t believe you did such a thing.” You went on, feeling truly grateful. “Everything is squeaky clean!”
Perhaps Gintoki sucked at apologies, but when it came to making things right, he never failed to impress. He always knew exactly what to do. A push was all he needed.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Gintoki said as he approached you from behind. “It’s always clean around here.”
You were about to object to that, when you felt a pair of arms snaking around your waist, pulling you closer for him to press his body against yours. Instinctively, you looked up at him, the look in his eyes indicating he was up to no good.
“But if cleanliness is not what you want, I know of a way to make things dirty again.”
On second thought, a bit of disarray never hurt.
