I love to paint everything (including the walls in our house) and find constant inspiration in my daily life: dogs, cats, cows, horses, trees, fields, ponds and bayous, morning light, afternoon light ... you get the idea. My work is greatly inspired by the style of America’s Golden Age of Illustration, particularly the work of Howard Pyle, N. C. Wyeth, Maxfield Parrish, Jessie Wilcox Smith, Elizabeth Shippen Green and others. I’ve been painting my whole life, and I have sold my work to patrons all over the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe.”

My mom and I went to a Goodwill the other day and not only did we find ceramic plates that are nearly perfect for mixing paints, we found some gesso boards AND a pack of blank postcards!!

I've always wanted gessoboards (to try) and I didn't even know you could buy blank postcards to print on!!!

I had been toying with the idea of making postcards as part of what I'm trying to do is show people the cool botanical nature of Texas and I couldn't just walk by these when I saw them. I'll have to wait until I have a good printer to even try to print on those postcards but... it's nice to have.

This is a pretty old piece, it has my old signature and everything. I took my kids and a couple of their friends to a tropical fish store, and I swear they had every species that was featured in Finding Nemo.
