I will always side eye someone who is uncomfortable w the unabashed confidence of somebody else. And when I say confidence, I mean true, unadulterated confidence—not insecurity masquerading as it (aka conceit). Tho tbh I sometimes raise an eyebrow at what others find to be conceit these days, bc it seems like it’s literally everything. You find yourself really attractive? Conceit. You find yourself really capable of a certain task? Conceit. You think you’re worth the high standards you set? Conceit. It’s also no coincidence that it’s women who’re always encouraged to be “humble,” whereas men who are openly confident are found attractive. Just makes you wonder

Genuine question: where has this idea come from that Tim, Oliver and Lou have insinuated that Buck and Tommy are gonna end relatively quickly come from? (Like at the end of the season) Because apart from Lou saying he was asked for an initial four eps, Tim said after 7x04 ‘that it’s an entry level relationship which only time can tell where it goes’, whilst also saying he’s writing it like a romcom and everything Oliver has said more recently points to him wanting to explore it more and them continuing to build the relationship on and off screen. And i doubt they’re breaking up in 7x06 because a) there won’t be time, b) Buck is coming out and c) Lou has said they’re gonna be ‘so cute’. Also Ik they can’t stay in the honey moon phase forever but I don’t think enough time will pass between now and the end of the season for them to lose how smitten they are about one another. So I’m just a tad confused why some people are so certain they’ll be done by the seasons end.

as true as the jokes about “everyone wants to rewrite ninjago” are i feel like smthn people forget when complaining about the inconsistencies of the show is that…. it wasn’t planned? it’s not like most other animated shows lately - it didn’t start with a deeply fleshed out world or a meticulously designed pitch bible with grandiose plans for a long-term story or character arcs. the ninja don’t originally get their powers from heredity because they weren’t hereditary powers yet. the magic system doesn’t make sense bc they literally just made it up as they went! they go back and forth on stuff like whether non-elementals can learn spinjitzu bc it’s a collaborative piece of media made by people with vastly different levels of control over the story, the animation, the sets, etc. that varied over the course of the series. it’s totally understandable and exciting to see so many people reworking the early stuff with the lore and logic later seasons introduced but i personally feel that… if you’re doing that. you need to understand why the show is like that instead of writing it off as being bad and shitty. it was working with what it had. it’s only what it is now because of that awkward troubleshooting phase, not in spite of it

what’s so funny is this spirituality drama was started by a person that basically posted “i don’t understand why some radical feminists don’t believe in witchcraft or don’t even show an interest in it” on the website of literalist blunt skeptical women who read the words “i don’t understand” and go “ok let me explain.” and then upon receiving a bunch of answers explaining exactly why many of us are critical of spirituality, was like “wow they’re attacking my beliefs, they don’t get what spirituality means to ME” when yall are the ones saying you literally think it is sad and closed-minded for us to not entertain spirituality in our OWN feminism and personal belief systems, and making all of these masturbatory posts about how uniquely enlightened you are because of your spirituality. and then you go on wondering why so many of us hate “woo woo” shit
