February request goals update
Tumblr media
I made a spreadsheet because I'm like that of all the requests I have from Halloween/early November I know it's been a long time. I'm sorry. So, I'm going try to get 7 more done this month (the ones in yellow, with the darker ones being the requests I'm working on this week). Yes, I picked ones with Simeon in them on purpose.
I put an upload schedule in the bio (Tuesdays 9pm, Saturdays 10pm PST). Let's see if I can actually stick to it. I'll try.

can people tell whats theater and whats real
#im watching an 1963 interview with malcom x and the manner of speaking was different then no yelling and splicing off words like a classic#election debate though obviously this was no election broadcasted debate. some theater is useful but i feel like progressively it has been#just theater now. the liberalism the wokeness the canceling cultures the men who say they are allies the women who say they are allies the#queer people who say they are allies. like a lot of it feels like theater. progressively so. liberally so. the ai the obsession with open#access with native american knowledges and indigenous knowledges broadly. the publicized and streamed violence and genocides. the state#mandated body cameras on the bodies of police as they go for the kill or for the maiming. the tiktok nurses and the tiktok isrealis. this#all feels like theater. the protesting with the cops inside the pride with the cops inside the happy lny! with cops inside the#isrealis blocking water and basic needs trucks the mass protests in egypt that had gang rapes at their epicenters the white american who#votes and then shames those who abstain the nonprofits that profit its funders where their criteria for who deserves help grows stricter an#stricter and more hoop like more circus like than anything resembling dignifying. the flood of ai generated art of sterile images that are#literally propaganda. and have been actively used for such ends - against the most vulnerable people here there everywhere.#this feels like theater. progressively. increasingly. liberally.#soy talks shit

How will the state of Israel be dismantled if the USA refuse to back down as a funder and ally? This is where I’m stuck.
The thing is that Israel is still getting weaker despite of that, the more people that get radicalized the more we have a unified consciousness that leads to revolution, and yes, inevitably through violence. This occupation definitely weakened Israel in terms of PR, international and national reputation, and Israel's government is already pissweak as it is and its citizens have no confidence in it. Hamas couldn't have chosen a better moment to strike because of that. You've seen the protests all around the world, Israel is just getting more and more enemies by each day that passes and people are seeing a genocide unfold. Israel is not gonna recover even if it somehow managed to defeat the resistance groups.

Daily update post:
Israel has been preparing for the possibility of a direct strike from Iran. To that end, the IDF has been initiating GPS jamming, first in the south, and now in central Israel as well. On a personal note, I had to calm my mom down today (I could do this thanks to having heard about it on the news already), because it's a scary thing for people, and they don't know what to think, when they open Waze and find themselves "appearing" in enemy territory. Iran's attack options might also include drone attacks, or anti-Jewish terrorist attacks around the world. We've heard about Esther and Mordechai's Tomb being attacked tonight in Iran itself.
Tumblr media
Speaking of the country that's the biggest funder of terrorism globally, tomorrow it's "Al-Quds Day" (Jerusalem Day) in Iran. It was established in 1979, after the Islamist revolution, as an antisemitic political measure, meant to help radicalize people against the Jewish state. Officially, it's a protest of Israel's sovereignity in Jerusalem, the city which has been the capital of the Jewish people, the place we pray to, for over 3,000 years, longer than Islam has existed. Some people worry that Iran will use this date specifically to strike against Israel or other Jewish targets around the world.
Tumblr media
With or without connection, the chief of Israel's army intelligence is quoted as saying in private conversations, "I have told you time and time again that it is not certain that the worst is behind us and we are ahead of complex days."
Tumblr media
Back in February, we heard that the niece of Hamas' overall leader, Ismail Haniyeh, gave birth in an Israeli hospital, and her baby, which was born prematurely, was treated in an Israeli hospital's NICU, the same hospital that had to have millions of shekels spent on, in order to make parts of it safe during Hamas' rocket attacks. While at it, we were reminded that several of Haniyeh's sisters live in Israel after marrying Israeli Bedouins, and that a few more of his relatives were allowed from Gaza into Israel for medical treatment. Just a small reminder that Haniyeh's personal wealth is estimated to be somewhere between 4 to 5 billion dollars (Taylor Swift's is only a little over 1 billion dollars), and if he wanted to, he could have flown his entire family out of there, to join him in Qatar, with the best facilities and care, rather than get medical care at a hospital subsidized by the "genocidal Zionist enemy."
Tumblr media
Now we get the news that one of Haniyeh's sisters, a 57 years old woman, has been arrested for helping Hamas, including support for the Oct 7 massacre.
Tumblr media
This is 34 years old Lidor Levi.
Tumblr media
He was critically injured in the Palestinian terrorist attack in Gan Yavne. He was in a hospital, fighting for his life for 4 days. Today we got the news that he succumbed to his wounds. He leaves a pregnant wife and a daughter behind. May his memory be a blessing.
Tumblr media
I will never understand how the accidental killing of 7 civilians in Gaza is making more headlines, and causes more rage, than the on going and intentional killing of so many Israeli civilians targeted in terrorist attacks along this entire war. I can't remember the world even addressing it, let alone raging about how unacceptable these killings are, and how they're proof that Palestinian terrorist organizations must be stopped. For that matter, I haven't come across anywhere as many headlines and world leaders' statements about an intentional drone attack that killed several rescue workers in Kharkiv, where a residential area was targeted. The hyperfocus on the one conflict where Jews can be demonized, is also leaving a lot less attention for, practical aid, and just general caring about other conflicts, which are in many ways far worse (just look at Tigray alone on the below map). It's harmful to so many more people than we come close to realizing.

We have reached the self immolation stage of protest.
And in its truest, most nefarious fashion, an Israeli-American officer aimed a loaded gun to the burning body of Aaron Bushnell. And as expected, what little American media coverage his story has gained has begun reducing his message as nothing but a “mental health” issue.
While others are far too pathetic to give up an $8 coffee from a prominent funder of the Palestinian genocide, others, like Aaron Bushnell, are willing to burn to death for the freedom of the innocent.
You, be of use, contribute to a cause, learn empathy for the people who don’t get to live as comfortably as you, and fight for them.
May he, and the tens of thousands of Palestinians, who were murdered by occupational forces rest in with quietest tranquility of peace, as their bravery and integrity scream the loudest in humanitarian resilience.
“My name is Aaron Bushnell, and I am an active duty member of the United States Air Force. I will no longer be complicit in genocide. I’m about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it’s not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.”
“Many of us like to ask ourselves, ‘What would I do if I was alive during slavery? Or the Jim Crow South? Or apartheid? What would I do if my country was committing genocide?’ The answer is, you’re doing it. Right now.”
- Aaron Bushnell

Genuinely curious, because I've seen some people say that one should vote biden because if you vote for trump or desantis their stance on the ongoing genocide and other matters would actually be worse than what we're contending with, and I have no true frame of reference: do you think that's actually true or a likely possibility?
I'm of the opinion that it really doesn't matter who we vote for anyways, the outcomes will still be the same. Biden is enabling 4 different genocides/ethnic cleansing (Palestine, Congo, Armenia, Sudan) and honestly, I don't see how it can get any worse.
They often make the argument that things will happen *here* that is dangerous but speaking as someone who has lived in a very Red state my entire life, it has never been safe or welcoming for me to begin with, along with others who have similar identities to me. Not to mention that bad things have already happened here under Biden, with the Abortion ban, book bans, and ban on critical race theory being taught in schools.
Trump is not great, like I don't want him to win either. He was the person who moved the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem and it was seen as a political slap to the face to Palestinians (click). Don't get me wrong they're both piles of shit. But I refuse to elect people into office that let such flagrantly terrible things happen in the world. These people have no oversight in their actions, are free to do what they want, and no manner of "democratic" intervention will stop them from doing the things they want, especially when they're afraid of losing funding for going against major lobbying organizations like CUFI and AIPAC.
This isn't the first time Biden ignored Palestinians in this term. Remember in 2021 with the settlements in Shiekh Jarrah? He didn't say a word condemning Israel for their forced displacement and their bombardment of Gaza (click). Sure the Abraham Accords sucked and that was brokered by Trump, but Biden could have undone that. He didn't. He just re-approved aid to Palestinians (which, who cares when they're under occupation? No amount of aid will help them attain liberation). Palestinians don't want aid — they want America to stop funding the Zionist Entity.
Everyone in Palestine already knows that the Israel's biggest supporter, America, is also their biggest funder. If they just stopped funding, everything would be cut in half. There is no way the Zionist entity would be able to sustain itself. Even now, their economy is failing because they relied on Palestinians for much of their cheap labor. They cannot support themselves without USAmerica's direct intervention.
I am of the opinion that we should organize to change the way our government operates or else things like these will keep happening. It does not help anyone but the ultrarich and the people in power. Things like Cop City and the genocide in Congo and Sudan and Armenia only happen because the US has a vested monetary interest in oppressing them. This will not change between presidents. Biden will just be quieter about it.
I don't know how to organize stuff like this, or where to go to organize, but if we keep playing in the system they laid out where they always win, then there's no way anything can change.

My husband asked for my help with talking to someone in one of his IRL communities about the level of involvement that the USA has in the ongoing genocide because they didn't believe that the US was more culpable than other countries, so I made this reference sheet updated as of today (March 2nd 2024) and thought I might as well post it to put some of the information in one place
Point: The USA is the #1 supporter of Israel and the IOF by a lot in the international sphere
Proof:
US military funding of Israel (3.8 billion per year of tax money) (compared to EU’s 1.8 million per year friendly neighbor policy of funding to Israel)
US actively suppresses anti-zionist movement (which also happens in Germany in somewhat comparable amounts)
US has repeatedly veto-ed ICJ rulings regarding Israel’s genocide (1) (2) (3) (Uganda did vote against it but does not have veto power)
US is the #1 weapons supplier/funder of Israel stretching back years since 2004 (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8)
The US has increased support since October 7th (also true of Germany)
The President purposefully spreads Zionist propaganda that has been debunked (1) (2) (3) (4)
American media has become propaganda-- CNN now runs everything by the IOF by law, media blackouts occur around protest movements, streaming services based in America run propaganda ads, Paramount+ and CBS cut off anti-Zionist statements during the Grammys, etc
USA is looking at punishing South Africa on an international level over genocide trial
USA continues to not punish Israel for civilian harm (1) (2)
House of Representatives publicly chastised a Representative for being anti-zionist
Biden ran on a Zionist campaign
US military preparing to support Israel on the ground with some reports of there already being military support (1) (2) (3) (4)
The US has instituted unprecedented amounts of Zionist laws aimed at suppressing boycott work since 2014
The US has done nothing regarding the rise in hate crimes against Arab people since October 7 (source on hate crimes, no source on doing nothing because they haven’t done anything and have ignored it)
The US has been bombing Palestinian allies
Biden was judged as complicit in genocide, and then the case was forcibly waved (1) (2)
The US has had a stock of weapons stored in Israel, and allows Israel to use their stock
The US has blocked the UNSC’s ability to condemn mass civilian violence done by Israel

We, academics, clergy, and other public figures from Israel/Palestine and abroad, call attention to the direct link between Israel’s recent attack on the judiciary and its illegal occupation of millions of Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Palestinian people lack almost all basic rights, including the right to vote and protest. They face constant violence: this year alone, Israeli forces have killed over 190 Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza and demolished over 590 structures. Settler vigilantes burn, loot, and kill with impunity.
Without equal rights for all, whether in one state, two states, or in some other political framework, there is always a danger of dictatorship. There cannot be democracy for Jews in Israel as long as Palestinians live under a regime of apartheid, as Israeli legal experts have described it. Indeed, the ultimate purpose of the judicial overhaul is to tighten restrictions on Gaza, deprive Palestinians of equal rights both beyond the Green Line and within it, annex more land, and ethnically cleanse all territories under Israeli rule of their Palestinian population. The problems did not start with the current radical government: Jewish supremacism has been growing for years and was enshrined in law by the 2018 Nation State Law.
American Jews have long been at the forefront of social justice causes, from racial equality to abortion rights, but have paid insufficient attention to the elephant in the room: Israel’s long-standing occupation that, we repeat, has yielded a regime of apartheid. As Israel has grown more right-wing and come under the spell of the current government’s messianic, homophobic, and misogynistic agenda, young American Jews have grown more and more alienated from it. Meanwhile, American Jewish billionaire funders help support the Israeli far right.
The Israeli government, Goldberg stated, fights against human rights, democracy and equality and propagates the opposite: “authoritarianism, discrimination, racism and apartheid”.
“Accusing Israel of apartheid is not anti-Semitic. It describes reality,” he said.
Goldberg’s standpoint was not an outlier, he urged Klein to understand. Rather, it represented a growing chorus of voices, including leading Israeli academics propagating the term apartheid to describe the treatment of Palestinians by the current regime. In fact, if Klein were right, Goldberg wrote, then some of the best-known Holocaust and anti-Semitism researchers from Israel, the United States, Europe and worldwide would be anti-Semites.
He referenced a petition co-initiated by Omer Bartov, the Israeli-born historian and professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Brown University, titled The Elephant in the Room, which states: “There can be no democracy for Jews in Israel while Palestinians live under an apartheid regime”. The petition has been signed by more than 2,000 academics, clergy, and other public figures at the time of writing and is emblazoned with an illustration that includes a large elephant with the words “Israeli occupation” alongside a speech bubble that reads “Let’s just ignore it”, and surrounded by dozens of people freely waving placards for various social justice movements. “Palestinian people lack almost all basic rights, including the right to vote and protest,” the petition reads, “Settler vigilantes burn, loot, and kill with impunity.”
...
It is a position shared by Bartov, who recently told the Washington Post: “You can call me a self-hating Jew, call me an antisemite … People use those terms to cover up the reality, either to deceive themselves or to deceive others. You have to look at what’s happening on the ground.”

Copy and pasting Rashida's latest email from yesterday Feb 13th below. TLDR join a protest if you can.
For months, Israel’s military has driven Palestinians south in Gaza. Nearly 1.9 million people are now packed in Rafah, the last place in Gaza before Egypt’s border. They’re trapped and living in tents, having been displaced multiple times already in the past 4 months. There is nowhere else for them to flee. But Israel’s government has been bombing them with U.S. bombs. And while the Super Bowl played on Sunday, the ground invasion began. As the biggest funder of Israel’s military, the U.S. has the leverage to stop this. Instead, the U.S. Senate just passed a bill that would send $14 billion more American taxpayer dollars to Israel’s military. Grassroots groups like the Palestinian Youth Movement are asking people to mobilize emergency protests to demand an end to this genocide now. Find an urgent “Hands off Rafah!” action near you this week. JOIN A PROTEST NEAR YOU If you don’t see an action near you listed on the above site from the U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, you can find links to other resources on that page. Please keep the pressure on the White House and your members of Congress to stop aiding and abetting this genocide. In solidarity, Rashida
