The drone builds, and builds, and breaks. A piece using all three tELHARMONIC outputs.

With the new rack, I find myself leaving patches up for days at a time, and revisiting them when inspiration strikes. This is great for developing an idea, but horrible for just getting things out. And also, due to that lag, I'm not sure exactly where this patch started - I kept switching things out here and there.

This piece is made of three parts, each coming from tELHARMONIC which is being modulated by Bloom and a very slow LFO from Ts-L. The Harmonic output goes through Ikarie, then Data Bender adding pitched repeats and saturation. Phase goes through through a slew limiter for antialiasing then Melotus Versio. Finally, Noise goes through Sinc Bucina, and is panned around by Vice Virga into Jumble Henge for noisy glitches jumping around the mix and the stereo field.

I'd love to do more detailed patch notes like I used to, but quite frankly, there's too much going on. Planning to pick up Quadrax when the Perfect Circuit Labor Day sale comes around, and there will definitely be some cables in my cart too.

Bass/chords are tELHARMONIC H output through Ikarie, then Data Bender (micro mode. DB is clocked, so changing repeats and time creates rhythmic changes throughout the piece. LFO into break CV further keeps the texture evolving. Flux and Centroid both have looping smooth random from Marbles.

Ping sounds are both Ts-L (sequenced by Bloom) with envelopes from Pam on euclidian rhythms. The PWM (receiving the same LFO as break CV) has a longer logarithmic hit, while the sub/square has an exponential decay. The piece starts with the latter at sub-2, but it's switched throughout to define parts of the piece. These switches are very exciting to me - they take the sound from percussive to a second "lead voice." Both of these are mixed into Yester Versio for further rhythmic emphasis.

It's been awhile since I posted here, but today I got another little pocket camera. I've had the Olympus trip 35 and petri color 35 for awhile and I just got the Olympus XA2 today so I decided to take a little group photo. All three of these cameras are great options if you aren't a big fan of the plasticy full blown point and shoot cameras, but want something easy and pocketable. The petri color 35 is especially cool because it has full manual control. The light meter does not work in mine though, unfortunately. The two Olympus cameras are full auto, except for focusing. All three of these cameras use zone focusing with pictures and distance markings. No rangefinders here. I've put a test roll through the trip 35 and got great results. I have not yet developed the test roll from the petri color 35. It was a true test of my abilities as I metered only by eye and guessed the distances. I'm looking forward to sending a roll through a XA2, I've heard it's lens is great. The trip 35 and petri both required some disassembly and repair, but the XA2 came with its original packaging and only needed a battery to get running. If you run across any of these 3 cameras for a good price pick one up! They are great fun. I got each of these for around $20-30 but I am thrifty.
