I prommy these are one of last Trolls original species I'll make <3 I have one more but that's for a separate post (well technically I have another, but he's by himself and not a whole species)

FURBYS! It started with the concept sketch originally; this is Dove~ She's just a normal little Furby. Big nerd, probably works in a library?

But then I moved onto the actual lore-related ocs:

Royce + Dior So the original idea for these guys was a new villain-- this concept, if I ever turn it into a fic (I want to), is heavily mature.

Royce runs a club where he deals out drugs to all the patrons. The drugs are, not surprisingly, Trolls

Specifically, it's injecting or drinking Troll blood (cus if you can eat em whole and huff em I'm sure you can do it other ways)

That's actually why this exists: Juniper was lured in with the promise of drugs, Caspian went to find her.

Dior is one of the dancers for the club and they're kinda fucked up from overusing the blood (most of the time it's Royce enabling them and peer pressuring). Dior is also a 'plucked' Furby (meaning their body has little or no fur/feathers anymore; theirs specifically was self destructive and abuse)

No one who frequents the club knows exactly what the drug is made of. The only ones who know are Royce and his accomplice.

Dior does find out later and actually helps <3

Holmat Day 1 photos, I did not take many photos throughout the day, but I did take photos at the maid cafe. It was very yummy, the paper was my favorite part. Also my MOTHER shoved me in a bag all day, so rude. (@dreamlandcafe-blog)

as my birthday present to myself this year i FINALLY finished my pokemon card catalogue!!!!! only took me a year and some change :] 3,913 whole entire cards!!!!

How do you think xen would affect a furby

an alive one or a toy one? i think a toy one would kind of end up like that furby that got found in the middle of a desert. if were talking about furby as an animal, i think they would become best friends with the vortigaunts :-]

SHELBY (2001) Evolving throughout Paleozoic Era, mainly Permian Period. ~275 MYA. Related to clams and horseshoe crabs. Lives on coasts.

FURBY (1998-9) First appeard in late Triassic period. ~220 MYA. Similar to early mammals like Morganucodon, with Lystosaurus-like beak and reptillian parietal eye (infared sensor). Lives on sandy beaches.

FURBY (2012) Like some birds, evolved to have brighter colors in response to tropical environment and abundance of species. Ears are made of cartilage, and larger eyes as a result of having no natural predators. (It's literally called Furby Island).

BOOM (2013) Different coat patterns evolve through selective mating. Holes in ears for wider range of hearing.

PARTY ROCKERS (2013) Experimental subspecies with differing beak, ear, and eye proportions. Honestly probably boardering on extinction.

EMOTOTRONIC (2005) Emerged during early Cretaceous period. ~105 MYA. Similar to Repenomamus in size in order to compete with dinosaurs. Thick, leathery skin replaces beak, and forms toenails for rougher terrain. Lives in lush tropical forests.

FUNKY (2006) A selection of Emoto-tronics that developed brighter colors, and tails developed from selective mating.

CONNECT (2016) Antenna forms for advanced communication. Beak size shrinks to compensate for larger eyes, ears, and increased brain size. Almost like aliens.

FURBY (2023) Glowing ears fromed from gradual absorpsion of antenna. More advanced communication and higher level of conciousness. Beak continues to shrink and eyes continue to enlargen.

FURBLETS (2023) Smaller subspecies, exchanged bioluminescence for higher range of motion. Can fold ears over body for protection.

Someone has a theory that the Furblets could be a smaller Furby species instead of baby Furbys. I think there's a possibility that this could be true?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Hasbro has officially referred to the Furblets as baby Furbys. If they're meant to be Furby babies, then it's a little strange that the official Amazon listings and Furby Instagram account refer to them as "friends", and Furby keeps referring to the Furblets as smaller Furbys when interacting with them.

Furby Booms refer to their Furblings as their babies, but this new Furby doesn't refer to the Furblets as babies. The fact that the Furblets are music-themed and are referred to as friends of Furby, reminds me of the Furby Party Rockers.

Do you think you could review jubjubs?

JubJubs are one of those Neopets that are just certified Creatures(TM). These guys have a very specific aesthetic to them which I can best describe as an 80s retro toy look ala a Troll doll or Furby. However, they're much cuter than most 80s toys, sporting big eyes and soft fur. I've never been super into them myself, but I appreciate how unique they are compared to the rest of the Neopet species out there.

What's also interesting about JubJubs is that they're the only Neopet species without any upper limbs, which means that they use their prehensile feet kind of like hands. (This also causes them to not be super popular on the NPC front, as it's hard to anthropomorphize something that's literally just fur and feet. Which is a shame—I'd love to see more JubJub characters out there.)

I will say that my one basic grievance with them is that I never liked how they always have orange feet and eyebrows by default regardless of color. Feels like they should've just been a darker/lighter shade of the base, or a more neutral tone. Of course, plenty of PB colours fix this anyway.

Strictly speaking the JubJub's post-customization design is fine, but there's something just slightly off about it compared to the old art that I can't put my finger on. The foot always being up in the air is part of it, but part of it is also the eyes just being a smidge further apart and the fur being a more even shape. Still, for the most part they haven't changed drastically.

Favorite Colours:

Coconut: While not technically a species-specific color as Chias also come in it, coconut JubJubs are pretty iconic in their own right, appearing on Mystery Island frequently. Any JubJub color that plays around with their inherent roundness is fun, and I like the little tassels under the body that connect the feet to the rest of it. The orange feet also work better here, being a complimentary color to the brown.

(There's also an unconverted version, which sports crescent markings, different eyes, and a round mouth. It's not bad, but honestly it always felt really uncanny to me.)

Maraquan: What a nice color this is! Not only is coral a great fit, sort of playing around with the shape of their fur, but the colors are also beautiful—an orange-ish middle that becomes blue at most of the outcrops, with a complimentary magenta for the feet. Something about the mouth and nose here looks especially cute as well.

Halloween: Come on, it's a pumpkin! You can't not like it. While it lost its glowing eyes in the conversion, this design still looks great, sporting carved jack-o-lanturn facial features and a distinct pumpkin shape. The orange feet also now compliment the orange body, while the stem provides a nice pop of color. Great stuff.

(Side note: some of the unconverted art shows the pumpkin as more of a costume with a regular red JubJub inside. The converted version doesn't have pb clothing, and frankly I'm glad. It's much more fun to just think that it's literally a pumpkin than a JubJub that just happens to be in a pumpkin.)

Diet

1998-99: cracking seeds and smaller bugs

2005: tubers, seeds that do not require cracking, berries, and bugs

2012/boom: More adjusted to human foods, meats. Cannot consume most foods that a regular housepet cannot eat, treat it like any other pet.

Connect: They don’t eat, but when they do it’s what you’re eating right then.

2023: More adjusted to human foods, almost exclusively human foods actually. Can’t consume dairy products or heavily processed foods still
