Funguary Feb 18 - Edible Shaggy Ink Cap - Coprinus comatus

The self-aware and self-digesting edible shaggy ink cap can be found only seldomly unlike the mushroom it resembles. It has frequently generated bodhicitta, a spontaneous wish to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings. Through acceptance of the nature of cycle and decay, it is has learned to consume and calm the self to attain enlightenment. The opposite of humans, it has attained nirvana first, then transcended birth, old age, disease, death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, distress of mind and weariness.

Funguary Day 18: Inky Cap

I love the look of this mushroom; there’s something about it that feels like it’s from a dark fantasy. I actually knew this mushroom becomes poisonous when you drink alcohol, so I wanted to add my favorite type of alcohol: whiskey ;)

Funguary day 18! This one… kinda got away from me

Inky Cap Mushroom

This one had many inspirations! First was the inky cap creature I did in 2022 for funguary, from before I was on tumblr! Next was Anvil by LORN - both the song itself and the music video.

From there I just kinda… went crazy? No thoughts head empty just draw the coolest thing that comes to mind. I feel like there should be more to say about the design process but I really just went for it lmao. I just came up with things as I went.
