Torture. Pure Torture. It's absolutely painful to see and I can't imagine how they're feeling. It's torture and it's cruel and it warrants a scalding seat in hell for many israeli soldiers and government officials.

Over a thousand people from all over the region participated yesterday afternoon, Sunday 11 February, in the regional procession "Free Palestine, stop the genocide. With the resistance of the Palestinian people" organized in Genoa by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement, in which was joined by other movements, associations, parties, unions and a group of Palestinian refugees. Opening the procession, escorted at the beginning and end by the police, was a banner also written in Arabic: "Generation after generation until liberation". Banners and posters [had] the words "Free Palestine", "Stop arms trafficking" and "Israel, EU, NATO, legalized terrorism". The exhortation "Free Palestine" was incessant. Also in the square were a group of doctors in white coats with the sign: "Ceasefire now, 1,200 adults and 44 children without dialysis, 500 newborns a month without life-saving treatment, 10 thousand cancer patients without treatment".

"Hello Bruce. Until now, you've lived by one rule. Letting murderers live to kill again. Inflicting harm upon them, but sending them to a prison you know they can, and will escape from, only to maim and murder once again. Do you truly fight for justice, or the mere illusion of it? We’ll find out today. Live or die, Bruce. The choice is yours."
Trap scenarios for Batman. Each trap has a rogue’s gallery theme “ice trap for Mr Freeze / Poison for Ivy / Save two batkids at same time for two face” The gist is simple. Bruce has to choose between his rogues and his family. I have writer's block, so if anyone has trap/test suggestions, feel free to add them.
the final trap being Joker and Alfred shackled onto two tables with a dialysis machine looking contraption between them; they're both held inside a cage and a small pillar with a button on it is outside.
"Hello Bruce, and welcome to your final test. The men before you have played similar yet opposite roles in your life. One is an enemy that you have never truly conquered, and the other is an ally who has never wavered in his support of your conquest. In sixty seconds, the machine will begin to pump Alfred's veins full if hydrofluoric acid. If you push the button before then however, the acid will instead be pumped into the veins of the Joker. Will you do it this time, Batman? Will you take one life in order to save another?"

Before you depart, you leave an extra tip at the counter. The owner was more helpful than he needed to be. You feel indebted.
As you go out into the street, you give a long glance in each direction. You're paranoid even after the hours that passed since the unwelcome encounter. It's not just that one time, it's that this guy keeps popping up.
You walk the block warily, checking over your shoulder every few steps. Your building is quiet now that the maintenance is done, at least for the day. You go up to your apartment and drop your bag by the door.
What a long, strange day. Still, you got a lot of work done. You can just relax. You have another appointment tomorrow and that will be less than soothing.
You go to the bedroom and pull out a set of pajamas. You change a piece at a time, stretching as fatigue knots your muscles. You pull up the shorts as a shadow flickers by the window. You turn, finding nothing but the dimming sky and the rattling fire escape.
You don't think much of it. The wind often shakes the metal ladder and your apartment never quite gets the full shine of daylight. You grab your laptop and turn on the same show you've been marathoning for almost a week. You nestle into bed and yawn, even if it is a bit early to turn in.
You try to unwind and let go of the stress needling in your temples. You close your eyes, the heaviness less crushing, more hypnotizing. It drags you down even as the tension longers in your body.
You dream of the cafe and its moody owner, the other man like a shadow outside the window, the ambience overcast and sinister. At the edge of your subconscious is the glare of the laptop screen, the garbled audio skewing to a hum. A cool flow washes over you and sends a shiver up your spine.
You rouse slightly, enough to pull the top of the quilt to your chest. You hug the patchwork and grumble as you roll onto your side. You seal your eyelids and cling to the sleep that weighs on your lashes. The blackness slowly spreads and all at once splinters as your name gristles into your ear.
Your eyes snap open to darkness. Your laptop is closed and set on your night table. There's a weight over you that suggests more than a blanket. You feel something wiggle under your side and realise an arm is hooked around you, their hand tucked beneath you.
You go rigid and inhale, ready to scream your lungs out. The hand swiftly slides free and smothers your voice. You whimper and squirm against the intruder.
“You know, sweetheart, I just wanted to talk…” his nose brushes along the shell of your ear, his damp breath on your nape.
You whine and grab at his hand desperately. How did he find you? Jow did he get in here? This has to be a nightmare!
He hushes you and nuzzles your hair. He presses a kiss to the back of your head and growls. He wiggles even closer to you, rolling his hips against you.
“Now I don't feel like talking,” he snarls.
Your eyes gloss as his strength traps you. You don't understand. What did you do to deserve this? Why does he care so much?
“You know what I feel like?” He rasps, rocking against you as his breath shudders with his fervent motion, “I feel like holding you down and seeing if the rest of you still works.”
You squeak as you claw at his thick wrist. Your heart thunders and your ears burn. You've never felt this helpless.
He keeps his rhythm, his crotch chafing against you as his other arm snakes under you. His hand flutters up to squeeze your chest. He grunts between his quickening pants as the bed shakes with him.
“I can be a nice guy,” he huffs, “but you make a guy wanna be mean.”
Your tears break free, leaking down to stain your pillow. You writhe and throw your elbow back. He growls as you catch him in the same spot as before.
He leans his weight into you, turning you on your stomach as he crushes you against the mattress. He pins you with his body, thrusting against you as the fabric between your bodies grows warm. You murmur and bawl into his salty palm as you feel his bulge hard and throbbing against you.
“That's it, baby, that's it,” he coaxes as he rocks faster, “almost….”
He slips his hand behind your head and pushes your face into the pillow, suffocating you. He coughs and grunts and spasms. He shakes and his pace turns erratic and he slows, little by little, until he still and gulping for air.
He falls limp over you, his head next to yours as he pets your hair. He purrs and turns to kiss your temple. You turn your head away from him and sob.
What just happened?

i think the funniest thing about trolley memes is how people dont even realize people have been making parodies of the trolley problem since 1988
Consider the following case:
A brain in a vat on Twin Earth is at the wheel of a runaway trolley. There are only two options that the brain can take: the right side of the fork in the track or the left side of the fork. There is no way in sight of derailing or stopping the trolley and the brain is aware of this, for the brain knows trolleys. The brain is causally hooked up to the trolley such that the brain can determine the course which the trolley will take.
On the right side of the track there is a single railroad worker, Jones, who will definitely be killed if the brain steers the trolley to the right. If the railman on the right lives, he will go on to kill five men for the sake of killing them, but in doing so will inadvertently save the lives of thirty orphans (one of the five men he will kill is planning to destroy a bridge that the orphan's bus will be crossing later that night). One of the orphans that will be killed would have grown up to become a tyrant who would make good utilitarian men do bad things. Another of the orphans would grow up to become G.E.M. Anscombe, while a third would invent the pop-top can.
If the brain in the vat chooses the left side of the track, the trolley will definitely hit and kill a railman on the left side of the track, "Leftie" and will hit and destroy ten beating hearts on the track that could (and would) have been transplanted into ten patients in the local hospital that will die without donor hearts. These are the only hearts available, and the brain is aware of this, for the brain knows hearts. If the railman on the left side of the track lives, he too will kill five men, in fact the same five that the railman on the right would kill. However, "Leftie" will kill the five as an unintended consequence of saving ten men: he will inadvertently kill the five men rushing the ten hearts to the local hospital for transplantation. A further result of "Leftie's" act would be that the busload of orphans will be spared. Among the five men killed by "Leftie" are both the man responsible for putting the brain at the controls of the trolley, and the author of this example. If the ten hearts and "Leftie" are killed by the trolley, the ten prospective heart-transplant patients will die and their kidneys will be used to save the lives of twenty kidney-transplant patients, one of whom will grow up to cure cancer, and one of whom will grow up to be Hitler. There are other kidneys and dialysis machines available, however the brain does not know kidneys, and this is not a factor.
Assume that the brain's choice, whatever it turns out to be, will serve as an example to other brains-in-vats and so the effects of his decision will be amplified. Also assume that if the brain chooses the right side of the fork, an unjust war free of war crimes will ensue, while if the brain chooses the left fork, a just war fraught with war crimes will result. Furthermore, there is an intermittently active Cartesian demon deceiving the brain in such a manner that the brain is never sure if it is being deceived.
QUESTION: What should the brain do?
[ALTERNATIVE EXAMPLE: Same as above, except the brain has had a commisurotomy, and the left half of the brain is a consequentialist and the right side is an absolutist.]

15 + jouno
15. “One more cheesy pick up line and I’m gonna bend you over the table and fuck you in front of everyone”
Tumblr media
Warnings: vaguely suggestive
Notes: sorry this one kinda sucks and also doesn't really conform to the prompt I'm out of juice
It's always eerie to see autopsy incisions on a living man. You swap out the drainage containers and check the various bags hanging next to his head. Blood, painkillers, saline, you have no idea how he's no nonchalant about these things. Jouno's hand takes your own and your heart skips a beat at the clammy fingers squeezing your palm.
"Something on your mind?" Jouno's hair is tangled, his head turned slightly away from you. You know by now he does this when he listens.
"I don't think I'll ever get used to a human body go through.... all of this."
"It's part of our job," he says simply, shrugging a little. "If it keeps the population safe."
"You're on dialysis every other month," you point out. "And all of you go through livers like alcoholics."
Jouno laughs lightly, letting you press your hand against his forehead to check his temperature. He's still holding the other one, and pretty coherent despite the anaesthetic. He might be building up resistance like the others, you think with an uneasy stir in your stomach.
Leaning forward to check his bandages you only realise how close you are when he shifts to face you, raising an eyebrow.
"Prognosis?"
"You'll live, like usual." Your heart is in your throat and you're sure he can hear it, especially the way it stutters when he pulls you down so you have to brace yourself on the bed, one hand on each side of him.
"Jouno?" You say quietly, shivering as his hand rests on your waist and circles it, just resting against you.
"Hmm?"
You look into his face, at his closed eyes and serene expression. "What...?"
His free hand comes up and strokes your cheek, the IV bumping against you. "You want this just as much as I do, don't you? I can hear your heart." It's a simple statement, and he already knows he's right.
"I- well yes, but not here! And especially not when you're just of surgery?" You stammer, feeling pinned under his knowing smile.
"No-one comes in here except for you, you're the only one on my rotation." Jouno leans in closer and you don't move away, a hair's breadth away from kissing him. "And I can no longer remain professional. Even if anyone did walk in, what can they do? Nothing, especially not if I ask Fukuchi to step in."
Jouno is smiling, sensing something in your heartbeat that obviously pleases him. And you want to, you've wanted to for weeks, ever since the first time you got put in charge of him.
"Just one," you cave, closing the distance with a soft kiss.
"Just one," he repeats knowingly, arm tightening around your waist as he pulls you in for another.
