ART just came alive as a character, and it’s so cool when that happens, when you kind of have a character sort of buried in the story. When they actually come on stage it’s like, oh, this is going to be an important character. And the more I worked on [Artificial Condition], the relationship between them became central to that story, not necessarily Murderbot finding out about its past on this moon, but that relationship. So after [Artificial Condition] was done and I was starting to work on [Rogue Protocol], I was really thinking about Murderbot’s relationships with the other characters and thinking... it’s like I really feel like ART is probably the love of Murderbot’s life, even though that’s not how they see it. That this is central, it’s going to be a really important relationship, and in some ways it makes a lot more sense for Murderbot’s most important relationship – I mean, its most important relationship with a human is Dr. Mensah – that it would have a relationship with another being who is more like it than a human is – so yeah, people who see it that way are pretty correct. That was what I was thinking about when I was writing it.

I love when people complain about dangerous drivers because... there are some dangerous drivers out there! However, the solution isn't, like, a surveillance state. The solution can be found (in part) in actually investing in free public transportation and a variety of transportation. The fact that we often live in a very hostile world for pedestrians and non-motorists is a travesty, and helps contribute to the mess that is driving.

You don't need to ban certain people from being able to drive. You need to pressure your local and state governments to actually invest in trains, buses, trams, taxis, public bicycles, well-maintained sidewalks and trails, and whatever may be best for your community. Banning certain people from driving isn't going to effectively keep drivers safe.

Absolutely begging able bodied people to remember that the accessible seats on public transport are NOT FOR YOU. You have the ability to walk two steps to sit in literally any other seat. Why do you insist on sitting in the ones specifically reserved for disabled people?

First of all, you can't always tell when somebody is disabled.

Second of all, not all of have the ability to stand there while you gather up your stuff and move, especially when the bus/tram/subway/whatever is moving. Sometimes we need to sit down immediately after getting on, which is why the seats right next to the doors are RESERVED FOR DISABLED PEOPLE.

I always knew that public transit was cool on a societal level, but I always assumed using it was like “whaddever, I’m commuting.” Why has no body mentioned it being FUN AS HELL. I stepped on the bus for the first time 3 days ago and the moment it took off I had to do everything in my power to act normal. Like wtf I’m on a bus right now! And it’s fucking moving!!!
