Am I alone in thinking that just because you do art doesn't mean you're creative?

I'm not saying this to be mean, it's just that I would'nt consider myself creative. i feel like creativity has something to do with coming up with new, interesting and innovative ideas. So a person who doesn't do anything at all but has a lot of good ideas might be creative.

I do a lot of derivative work, I barely have new Ideas and I do struggle to come up with good ideas. I just like to draw a lot. I tend to draw the same things over and over, my characters tend to be based on other properties and I do a lot of fanart. I don't think I am very creative. i just create. (which II am cool with btw, because I am having a good time creating art)

#I don't know just a littel rant #got called creative again #I didn't disagree because I don't want to be an asshole when someone makes a compliment #the piece in question was also a waterclor painting I did for my sister #it was based on a fotograph I #changed it up to make for a better composuition and center her and framed her a little bit differently #i don't know #I just never feel creative #I feel inspired a lot by cool things I see #and I don't just blindly copy things either #but if I think about friends I have with like 20 OC's #with backstorys #a world with lore #I just feel like that's different #not to talk myself down #I just think that artistic skill doesn #t equal creativity
