You really hated Biology.

You're not even quite sure why you decided to take the subject when you've always struggled with science.

But with your finals taking place tomorrow, there's not much time for you to mourn over your terrible decision.

Mumbling to yourself, you read through your textbook for what felt like the hundredth time in the past hour.

Horror sets in when you realize you still don't understand most of the things you're reading - like what the hell is deamination?

Groaning, you rest your head on the table with a heavy thud.

You were never going to pass this test.

Tears start to fill your eyes, rolling down your cheeks as you bury your face in your hands.

You didn't mean to cry, but sobs start to escape you as anxiety rises in your chest.

Why couldn't you understand it?

Were you not smart enough?

What if you were the only one who fails in the entire class?

But those thoughts were shaken right out when the door slams open, startling you.

"Babe, what's wrong?" Anton asks, rushing over to your side.

The moment you feel the warmth of his arms around you, you burst into tears again.

"I'm never going to pass this exam!" you sputtered, tears streaking your face and nose filling with snot. "I'm gonna be the only one who fails!"

Anton's heart shatters at your words, pain biting at his chest when he sees how exhausted and stressed you were.

But he lets you cry it all out in his arms first, soft kisses pressed to your head to remind you that he was there for you.

When your sobs slowly turn into sniffles, he gently pulls away from you.

"Hey, look at me." he calls, tucking your hair behind your ear.

You look up reluctantly, slightly embarrassed at the thought of what a wreck you probably looked like right now.

"Don't worry so much about it," Anton assures. "You're going to go in there tomorrow and try your best. That's all that matters. And even if you fail, it's fine. At the end of the day, grades are just silly letters on a piece of paper."

You nod, too tired from all your crying to give a verbal response.

"And I think your health matters so much more, hm?" he continues, wiping a stray tear away gently. "You look so tired."

You didn't just look tired; you really were tired.

"How about we call it a night and get ready for bed? Your exam's in the afternoon tomorrow, so we can wake up early and study a bit more before you go for it." Anton suggests.

You'd say no, but sleep sounded so tempting right now.

So without any protest, you let him pull you up and lead you to the bathroom, hands interlaced tightly.

"My pretty girl." he sighs, kissing you on the cheek as he sets you on the bathroom counter.

The compliment makes you smile for the first time that day as he starts up a warm shower for the both of you.

When you're done, you let him help you change into your favorite hoodie set - which was all nice and warm because he threw it in the dryer just before you started your shower.

And like the absolute angel he is, Anton lights up your favorite scented candles and disappears into the kitchen to make you a mug of hot chocolate, a heart made out of whipped cream floating on top.

"Feel better?" he asks, massaging your shoulders while you finished your drink.

You hum a 'yes' in reply, pressing a quick kiss on his hand. "Thank you. I was a mess just now." you mumble, embarrassment keeping your eyes glued to the floor:

Anton scoffs at this, kissing you on the lips. "No need to thank me." he mumbles, kissing you again. "I'd do anything for you."

His words make your cheeks flush red as he takes the mug from you, disappearing again into the kitchen to pop it into the dishwasher.

By the time he's back, you're already snuggled under the covers in bed with your eyes shut.

Quietly, Anton dims the lights and gets in beside you.

"You worked so hard today." he whispers, carding his fingers through your hair. "I'm so proud of you. I'm sure you'll do great tomorrow."

He seals his words with another kiss on your lips.

"I love you." you whisper, wrapping your arms around his neck while you moved closer into his warm embrace. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

He tuts at this, pressing a kiss on your forehead.

"You'll never have to worry about that, because I'll always be here for you." he promises.

You thank the stars for blessing you with the sweetest lover ever as you eventually drift off to sleep, safe and secure in Anton's arms.

Well like many, the Loki S2 finale has me still reeling and I have had this little drabble on my brain and had to get it out. I am not really a writer, I've not written a fic since I was a teenager probably lol so be easy on me but alas, I hope this is enjoyed by those who also just couldn't bear the thought of Loki being alone at the end of time forever.

Description: Loki uses his time slipping abilities to talk to you one last time before making the decision he knows he has to in order to save those he loves. But, you aren't so willing to let him condemn himself to an eternity alone, or yourself to a lifetime without him.

Word Count: 1367

Warnings: DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVENT SEEN LOKI S2 EP6!! Angst, sadness, happy ending mostly

"How are you doing this?", you asked as you watched strands of space and time float around you and Loki throughout A.D Doug's workshop.

"We're outside of time. Darling, I had to see you. I had to speak to you." Loki said, a sorrowful look on his face that you had never seen before. "The Loom, it was a failsafe all along. And no amount of scaling can account for infinite timelines. I thought we had it, I really did", he explained.

"Damnit, we should have known it would be...", you lamented.

"I spent centuries trying to figure it out, and it was all for nothing."

"Centuries?" you questioned.

"It's hard to explain" he responded. "Darling, there are only two options. Go back and kill Sylvie before she kills He Who Remains and allow the Sacred Timeline to continue--"

You cut him off. "You can't Loki! The Sacred Timeline is full of misery, injustice, and sadness - what the TVA stood for under He Who Remains was all wrong! We can't go back to that. And you know you could never kill Sylvie...not after everything we have all been through together."

"I know...", he said, a sad knowing in his voice and his eyes. "But there is one other way."

"And what's that?"

"Me".

"What? You? I don't understand Loki..." you said cautiously.

"The finite power of a machine can never handle the infinite timelines of a multiverse, but the infinite power of a God can", he said as he watched your face intently for any hint of reaction.

It took a moment as you stared at him, blinking. "Do you mean..." you questioned, as the realization of what he was saying started to set in.

"Yes, my love. Believe me, if there was any other way, I swear I would take it. But there isn't. I know what kind of God I need to be, for you, for all of us. It's the only way."

"Loki, if this is what you have to do, then please, take me with you at least!" you implored.

"My darling y/n, you know I can not do that. I must bear this burden alone, and you must go live your life on the timeline, the one you deserve to have. I could never condemn you to an eternity of solitude at the End of Time", he said sorrowfully.

"But you'll condemn me to a life of solitude on Earth? Loki, I can't live without you. There's no life for me down there if it's not with you! Please, as long as our friends are happy, and I'm with you, that's all I'll need. Please let me go with you!". The last part came out as a sob as your emotions got the best of you. You couldn't believe what he was talking about doing, the sacrifice he planned to make for the ones he loved.

"When I go back there, to that moment in time, you won't remember any of this. You won't know you said you wanted to go with me," he reminded you.

"Loki, every version of me across space and time would go with you. Even into the abyss, if that's where you have to go. I will follow you, I know I will!" you fully sobbed out as you threw your arms around him. The thought of him leaving you was killing you.

"They'll stop you if you try to follow me, you know that" he said, speaking of your friends back at the TVA.

"Then tell them not to Loki! Please, I'm begging. My place is beside you, always and forever, no matter where that place is."

And then Loki was gone and everything turned to spaghetti.

Loki slipped effortlessly back to just the right moment in the Loom control room, having been here in this moment over and over for centuries. This time though, it was different. This time, it was the last time. Loki looked over at you and his friends with a sad and knowing smile on his face. And then with one last look, he turned and ran down the stairs towards the blast doors. He knew he could keep you from following, lock the doors behind him with impenetrable magic. But he also knew that in your heart, you would never want to be without him. You would resent him forever if he left you on Earth alone.

You, Sylvie, and Mobius ran down the stairs after him immediately, but he was already through the airlock doors. The three of you watched Loki open the blast doors with his magic and start to step outside, absent of any protective suit. As you reached out to open the airlock door and go after him, Mobius pulled you back.

"Mobius, I have to go! I have to get to him!!!" you screamed.

"You can't! The temporal radiation will kill you if you open that door and go out there, you know that!"

"But it's going to kill HIM!" you cried out as you watched Loki walk out onto the walkway.

But something amazing started to happen. As the temporal energy shredded his TVA clothes away with every passing second, something else began to take it's place. Flowing dark green linen draped his form, traditional and humble shoes appeared on his feet, and a horned crown adorned his head. He looked absolutely Godlike and regal. As Loki walked closer to the Loom - this imperfect piece of machinery that took so much from so many - he lifted his hands, called upon his magic, and destroyed it in a flash of bright green and white light.

Then, there was darkness. Loki wasn't done, though. He reached out to grab a strand of time and suddenly it glowed back to life, his beautiful green magic allowing it to thrive. He grabbed another, and another. You, Mobius, and Sylvie stood silently in the airlock, watching as Loki brought the timelines back to life, one by one, gathering them in his hands. Above him, a chasm opened in the sky, revealing the End of Time. Loki looked back one last time at the 3 of you back in the airlock. He had no idea if you would really come after him like you said - but he wanted to see your face one last time if it was truly to be the last. Your eyes locked, and you knew now that the temporal energy was gone, there was no threat if you left the airlock.

"I have to go with him." you said to Mobius and Sylvie. "His worst fear is to be alone, and he is going to condemn himself to a lifetime of loneliness to save us all!" you said as you opened the door.

"Y/n, please! Stop! You don't know what you're giving yourself to." This time, it was Sylvie who pulled you back, holding your arm so you couldn't run down the walkway.

"Yes, I do. I'm giving myself to love. I'm giving myself to free will, to choice, to hope." you said.

"Sylvie, let her go," Loki called out. "It's going to be okay." he assured.

Sylvie let go of you hesitantly, and you started your walk out to Loki. When you reached him, he could not take your hand, but you took his arm. Together, you began to ascend the invisible stairs to the End of Time as he held the reanimated timelines in his hands. As you both crossed the threshold of the chasm to the End of Time, He Who Remains' throne and the ruins of his citadel came into view. Loki walked forward to the throne, the one he never wanted but was always destined to have. The timelines took on the beautiful form of a tree - Yggdrasil, the tree of life - the tree of the multiverse that Loki would tend to for eternity.

"This is where I'll have to stay forever, darling. I can never leave, never move. Tending to the timelines is my glorious purpose, my eternal burden. Are you truly willing to stay here with me?" he inquired.

"Yes, my love", you answered without hesitation.

"For all time?" He asked.

"Always".

in general magic is kind of weird there’s multiple methods to cast the same spell those being spell components, incantations, somatic (gestures). each has their merits and flaws/ u can choose to use only one/ any most people stick with 1-2

there’s all kinds of spells and people are either born with an innate specialty in it or grow up developing it; power is how strong their magic can be, control is how much of a grasp they have on their magic, the lower control is compared to power the more easy it is for someone’s magic to go out of control (aira in this AU but i’ll talk about that when i have the alkaloid one made). if someone has more control than power they’re able to do very precise things with their magic with no focus at all while others would need some focus; general populace has both equal, usually people that dont hone their skills (common villagers) stay at 1 star for both

niki’s outfit is very simple and inspired by his fs2, very versatile and such because he’s always out and about chasing after exotic creatures to add to his checklist cloak HGFSDH he learned to sew from Aira’s mom when he was little and made most of his clothes himself, his satchels, and even helps the others when they need his skills whenever hes in town. even though he clearly puts spices etc. on one side compared to his components on the other, he still mixes them up because he is silly Aka is very fluffy and has kind of wild hair like. someone we know. i wonder who bright blue eyes (also like someone we know. ) but foxes are funner to draw with just closed eyes

RInne just has his normal village clothes with like longer and some changes to make it more. fantastical???? idk im soooo bad at designing clothes lmfao but before the “fox” is out of the bag he doesn’t really shift back much except to stretch and mess around with meru so he doesnt really. get different clothes. def after the reveal he stays in that form more around niki and they do get him different clothes. idk what they would be maybe niki would make them because he gets sick of seeing both hiiro and rinne in his house wearing the same things all the time. oh yeah i havent gone over this yet but yeah hiiro does refuse to leave because rinne refuses to leave so he just. lives with them on niki’s couch LMAO. who knows. maybe he becomes a denizen of the beehive rinne also still shifts because he finds moving around as a little guy more convenient and also niki still finds that form cute and cant say no if he does the puppy eyes so it usually goes like niki: rinne-kun, no rinne: boo-hooo.. niki~kyun.... (swishes his finger and ina poof hes aka again with round blue eyes) niki: niki: i know what you’re doing, its not going to work this time aka (rinne): whimpers niki: niki: (throws his hands in the air) oh my god fine rinne: (quickly changes back and grabs niki and cheers)

i havent gotten to kohaku’s fic yet but he’s good at stealth magic. like really good. he can make himself vanish and no one will be able to find him when he’s right next to them. think about that as you will. when aira brought him to the beehive he only had a yukata and worn down sandals and since he and aira had similar builds he just ended up getting clothes from aira for most of the time; he does have shirts that are specifically his because they all have little pockets sewn on (by niki!) for rabu-han junior but with coats pants and outerwear he and aira just share except kohaku stays away from some of aira’s more. fancy clothes ?? lmao not to his taste rabu-han junior is a little hamster familiar that he met one day and made a familiar pact agreement with. rabu-han junior usually sits in his pocket, but if need be rabu-han junior can grow MASSIVE from 3 inches to 6 feet. Big mode. in big mode he can easily carry. 4 people. lmfao. rabu-han junior also shares magic with kohaku and technically is as strong as him and from that logic. rabu-han junior is better at magic than poor rabu-han (original)

merumeru’s clothes are all from kaname except the coat the coat is tatsumi’s. no idea why himeru hasn’t thrown it away though. maybe somewhere deep in his heart he does care for tatsunn his main reason for leaving was he didnt want tatsumi to always be in pain from seeing him, the very spitting image of kaname

all of him is just like kaname except: slightly older, longer hair, hair dark grayish at the ends and its not visible much and he does do illusion magic to change it but he has cat eyes pupils kittymeru is mainly dark gray (the same color as his human hair ends) with kaname-blue highlights and the long strand, the proof that kaname was the one that conjured him and essentially put part of himself in meru

Stretching in your sheets, your muscles tightened at the sudden movement, still tired from the previous days activities. You turned to face the alarm clock on the bedside table.

5.43AM

Sighing, you kicked your feet around, bumping into another cold pair as you turned back to face the other side of the bed. Now your eyes were adjusting a little clearer, a defined back lay in front of you. The shapes and shadows carved out by the shallow muscles in the dim morning light caught your attention.

Sunghoon was always so beautiful like this, his elegance proved constant throughout the endless moments you shared, just like this one. You reached a shy hand to his spine, trailing down his back, holding onto the lingering chill through your fingers. You move to the nape of his neck, grasping at the strands of his hair ang gently massaging his scalp. Yawning, you pull your hand back and continue to bore your eyes into his perfect figure, thinking about how lucky you were to have him.

Just as your eyes fluttered, daring to go back to sleep, a voice struck you like a chord, knocking any sense of sleep out of you.

“You know, if you take a picture it might last longer.”

Sunghoon’s voice spoke up from above the sheets. Your face went hot, sure he was your boyfriend, but he still made you a kind of nervous similar to that of a first date. You quickly duck under the covers as he quickly turns around, attempting to catch you in his arms.

His morning voice mixing in with his deep laughs make you feel butterflies yet again. He digs through the sheets, his hands landing on top of your head, fingers lacing through your hair as he continues to laugh at your embarrassed behaviour.

“y/n what are you doing?” He says through chuckles, you just visibly shake your head before he goes under the sheets with you.

“I thought you were sleeping…” you mumble, trying not to look him in the eyes.

“I can always tell when you’re looking at me y/n, you’re like one of those new born babies who can’t close their eyes.” He makes a motion, opening his eyes wide to mock your stare. You groan and kick him away, laughing some more. He grabs you before you can drag yourself out of bed.

He grabs you into a tight embrace causing you to let out a yelp.

“Ah! Sunghoon!” You giggle, he holds you tight and your noses touch.

“I love it when you play with my hair, you know that right?” You try and hide your smile at his remark.

He gives you a quick kiss on the cheek before drifting to sleep, waiting for the alarm to go off.

a/n: my first fic in a while (writers block://) and its a genshin fic🙏 im so sorry to my genshin followers who havent seen genshin content for so long but here u go!

"it's dangerous for you to be associated with me."

♫♪♩grew up in a case of fragile glass, but hammer away its time to crash.

you and xiao had been dating for about seven months. it started off rough, but you both eventually managed to make it work.

however, these days, xiao had been quite distant lately, randomly disappearing at night and refusing to meet you at the wangshuu inn.

that was, until one day he called you to the rooftop of the inn, saying you both needed to talk about something important.

"it's dangerous for you to be associated with me."

♫♪♩and as it shatters let me shatter into you

your body tensed up at his words. "xiao, i knew what i was getting into when i decided to be in a relationship with you."

"y/n, im doing this for your safety. lets.. end what we have." he crossed his arms and turned to look at you. when his gaze met yours, he saw tears pile up in your eyes.

you quickly realized this, and dabbed your eyes dry. "xiao- its okay. i know that you'll protect me. we dont need to end everythi-"

"enough! dont make this harder than it already is. stop being such a bother and just listen to me."

you were taken aback by his words. he thinks of you as a bother? had he always felt like this during the seven months of your relationship? was he just with you out of pity?

".. do you really think that?" you looked up at him. his heart felt a pang of guilt, but this was the only way he could get you to listen. he was silent, and you took it as a yes.

"i-i'm sorry- i'll leave." tears were welling up in your eyes again and you turned to leave, accidentally dropping your bracelet. xiao noticed it on the ground after you left, and picked it up to inspect it.

it was the bracelet xiao gave you the day he confessed his feelings to you.

♫♪♩ the soft candle glow, the music so slow, your skin on my skin, the room is spinning

"xiao? you wanted to speak with me?" he rarely ever called for you, since it was always you who started conversations with him. you got used to it though, he was always like that even when he met you.

xiao sighed to himself and questioned why he decided to do this. after all, he was an adeptus and you were a human, there were rules and or course you couldn't possibly be able to have a relationship.

yet, xiao wanted to break those rules for you.

"y/n. you make me feel... different. you make me feel warm whenever we meet up. you're the only person i could open up to. i'm not sure what emotions i'm feeling, but is this what you humans call love?" your eyes widened at what he said. you blinked once, then twice, before taking his hands into yours.

"you're not joking, right? you're not playing with my feelings, right??" you looked up at him hopefully, and he nodded shyly. you gave him a hug and he felt your breath against his ear. "you don't know how long i was waiting for you to say that.."

♫♪♩i've never been so fragile

gone were those times, and now you both went your seperate ways. xiao would be lying if he said he hadn't loved you. this was for your safety, he reminded himself.

♫♪♩its been a year and forty days, since you picked me up and swept me away

as you ran down the stairs of wangshuu inn, tears welling up in your eyes once again as you ran as fast as you could to liyue harbor.

it was already night when you arrived to the harbor. running through the bustling streets of liyue, you accidentally bumped into someone. tears still rolling down your face, you quickly apologized before you felt a hand on your shoulder.

you looked up and saw that it was kazuha, a friend of beidou's. you only saw him once when beidou offered you a tour of her ship.

"k-kazuha?" you looked at him, tears still running down your cheeks.

"are you alright? what's got you so upset, dear?" he asked you, confusion painted all over his face. you realised you were still crying and quickly wiped away your tears. kazuha, not knowing what else to do, he pulled you into a tight embrace. he always had a teeny crush on you, seeing you around the harbor everytime beidou and her crew stopped by liyue and feeling his heart beat faster in his chest, but he overheard you and beidou talking about your s/o, xiao.

you were surprised, but you wrapped your arms around him, returning his embrace. ah, a breakup.

"i'm here.. you're alright."

"i'm sorry.. i don't want to be a bother." you said, tightening your hold on kazuha's body.

he pulled away to look down at you, your eyes meeting. "you could never be a bother to me, y/n."

for some reason, in that moment, you felt a pair of eyes on you.

Hey hi um so since ch10 confirmed that Luke does indeed have our dear mc saved as Watson and he himself is Sherlock and both before and after they start dating those names are still used as terms of endearment in a sense I present the question,

Do Luke and Rosa, or at least Luke, ship JohnLock. If they did even or Rosa was aware of it, what does that mean.

and this makes it so much funnier that luke calls mc watson because if they ship johnIock, then being called watson is definitely Not Platonic. but it just doesnt click for mc for a while like

the last one im adding just bc i saw a post about it right before i started answering this ask: the full moon doesnt make remus horny. its a traumatic experience for him and he associates it with everything he fears - pain and loosing control. for a few days before the full he feels sick and weak and he hates everything and sirius has to fight tooth and nail to just get him under a blanket for a cuddle. right after the full he is exhausted and in pain. the further from the full the easier it is to get him in the mood, basically. (i feel like im the only one. at least on this one post every response was the opposite. i read just one ff with a similar thing - where its the new moon that makes werewolves horny.) i am not opposed to remus being horny right after the full tho

Towards the end of the tutorial/fic, there was a part 2 published that covered the events after WWX's death, and if the player was close to/dating NHS he'd confide in her after his brother's death. If the player lived in Cloud Recesses because she bought a house there or was married to LXC, then she might meet A-Yuan, but only if she didn't participate in WWX's death, because otherwise LWJ would never let her see his son.

I am looking for a very specific fic - wangxian, xuanli at the very least - takes place post-Sunshot. At one point (I believe during the Phoenix Mtn hunt) someone targets JXN but force-feeding his dog a magic core stone which causes it to grow into a massive dog yao and WWX and JXN have to fight it off together. Later one of JXN's other dogs is force-fed a core stone while a whole load of cultivators are trapped in a building and JXN has to stick his hand in its mouth to pull the stone out. From what I remember was that LWJ was obsessive and WWX was oblivious LWJ killed I think a friend of WWX at midnight at school and tried to cover up the body. I cant remember much plot wise but I'll give a brief run down of what I can recall.

It's a wangxian fic with wei ying being the bottom. There is mpreg but I'm not sure it's is omegaverse or not. There is a suprise reveal later after the pregnancy is announced that wei ying is pregnant with TRIPLETS. I think lan zhan or lan qiren faint when this is revealed. All I remember was that it was the beginning of the cloud recesses lectures and, instead of sneaking in and getting into a romantic sword fight under the moonlight with his soul mate, wwx is already a little drunk and instead ends up slipping while climbing the wall and falling on his head. Yes!! I love responding to comments! I want to discuss things with people reading my fics and (especially in the case of Ashes), I wanna see what my readers theories are on what’s going to happen. It’s one of my favorite parts of having people who read what I write!!

The planned Elowyn piece I have is something my girlfriend and I came up with together. So I have co-authored concepts

The first two or three chapter of Ashes, besides the prologue, there was a LOT taken from the discord RP that I’d originally come up with the plot of Ashes for. I had permission from that friend to use them. And I heavily, HEAVILY took out and then rewrote their portions (namely the Raine parts of the chapters “Moving Day” and “Hexside” bc the rest at the time were my characters). Their original writing has been scrubbed and a lot of Raine’s character and story arc has transformed into something else entirely. Pretty much all that remains is that they were the one who came up with the idea that Raine was Manny’s sibling. If they read it, they could probably still see the bones of what they wrote if they squint. But by the time Luz hits Eda with the door in “Hexside,” they’d already moved on from the rp. So it was very easy to rewrite around their parts and just reuse the posts I that I had written for those chapters.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Either the untitled Bungo Stray Dogs Heathers AU that was never posted anywhere, or The First Golden Guard.

Pretty much The First Golden Guard i have just notes scribbled out of the plot, what I think the first chapter is, and some various bits of dialogue from different moments in the fic. But then I started writing Ashes and that took over my life, and now I really want to write The Caleb Files, and the bonus stuff that got cut from Ashes. Plus the Elowyn fic. so I just don’t know if it will ever get written now

16. What are your writing strengths?

Description and voice.

I really love getting a little flowery when describing action or setting while writing. And in the case of setting in particular, I think I have a more natural ability.

I also really strive to make sure each character’s own unique way of talking comes through in their dialogue. Maybe not always when the narration makes the reader privy to their thoughts and emotions, but at the very least, their dialogue does.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Bro just cannot stop yapping!!

I actually genuinely do believe my greatest weakness is my inability to shut up sometimes. I’m sure if I go back and reread Ashes from the beginning, I’ve said the same shit multiple times.

Also sometimes I just get repetitive!! And I use certain colloquialisms like “just,” “after all,” and “as if” FAR too often.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

sigh.

I am a latinx person who lived through the VLD fandom… I have a LOT of opinions… and I have seen some bad Spanish dialogue written by non-Spanish speakers… the kind of shit that stands out to even me, when I have little verbal fluency.

Here’s the thing: I am not AGAINST anyone writing another language of dialogue into their fics. I actually do think it’s a good thing.

HOWEVER!!!

If you are a person who only speaks one language—if you’re a person who kind of doesn’t know what I’m talking about when I say ‘code switching’ or only understands the basic definition of code switching—I am BEGGING you to try and have someone with more experience in that language than you to proofread those dialogue sections.

The amount of times I’ve seen weird moments where the code switching didn’t make logical or emotional sense for the character beyond the author’s “I want to include Spanish here” is innumerable. And that’s not to say code switching needs to have a deep, profound reason all the time—sometimes code switching happens bc there’s no word or phrase in one language that directly translates from the concept or emotion you know how to describe in another! But from what I’ve found, there are a lot of people who understand code switching in concept (and that it’s important for representation) but not in practice bc they simply have no firsthand experience with it. I don’t blame them, though! It’s a hard thing to understand on description alone! Unless you’ve experienced it before, I don’t think it’s something you can fully comprehend. And it can stand out. You can even think you’ve done it right on technicality, but it falls flat.

A tiktok in how to spot AI images I once saw said “AI understands that a mirror, or stairs, or chair legs have to be there there, but it doesn’t understand why it functionally exists or what purpose it serves” and therefore it makes mistakes by adding twelve stairs on the right and fourteen on the left, or five legs on two chairs that are somehow sharing them, or mirrors won’t show the correct items reflected back. I’ve seen many well-meaning fic writers (and published authors!!!) do the exact same thing with language switching. They understand that it should be there, but not functionally why.

Also a basic “don’t rely on google translate” here….. but also a less basic one: different cultures of a shared language are gonna have different turns of phrase and different slang. I’ve also seen a lot of fics that have Lance (a Cuban character) using Mexican slang or words. That’s always awkward.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Ever?! Lmfao Harry Potter when I was a young teen. I didn’t understand what I was doing at all and only did it because my older friend who knew I liked writing my original stories at the time said that I should try writing fic.

I didn’t even have a plot or anything. I just genuinely thiugh fanfic was writing your little self insert OCs and perpetually playing with them in a dollhouse made of your favorite thing 🤡🤡🤡

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

It’s genuinely the first fic I’ve ever written where I have actually wondered if I was better off writing it as an original story and going the publishing route. Unfortunately for future me and fortunately for you all, I’m way too attached to the characters as their original names and incarnations to do that 🤣

It’s also the first fic I’ve ever written where I went into it already knowing every piece of the puzzle and having all the clues laid out to perfectly set them up ahead of time. I’m very proud of that and I long for the day where someone rereads Ashes after it’s over and discovers the tiny things in the extremely early chapters that were hints towards the end.

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?

I gotta brainstorm this

I used to use the word ‘jarring’ all the time because I say that in real life LOL

I think when it comes to writing and more dynamic themes, i think the main thing i try to emulate in my writing is that you know whats going on in the scene. I want to make sure that the reader knows the layout and how every person is interacting with each other. I try and go back over my writing over and over again to make sure it is understandable

I think a newer theme is emotions ? i focused so much on physical descriptions in my older works that it wasn’t,,,, fun? To read my stuff. So with my newer works i tried to experiment with more complex emotions, especially the physical repercussions of the emotions lol

SmutWithPlot on FF.net is an author who’s style inspires me SO MUCH. Their description style and flow is something I aspire to have. tension is so good….. (they’re also on ao3)

I’ve said this before but @eilwen is SUCH an incredible writer. No Reason is a fic that I cry whenever i see that its been updated. Their style is so poetic and detailed and i lovelovelove the story and world building its so incredible.

Kuwakun or @tomboyyyaoi here on tumblr has the most beautiful like,,, poetic style of writing… i want to try my hand at poetry style writing one of these days. I have such a literal and straightforward writing style that i would need to practice if I wanted to write the beautiful imagery that they have in their works…. (I sincerely believe they are one of the only people that really understand trimax vashmeryl)

58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)

Hmmmm

I think outlining and editing are tied in my mind. I LOVE creating the story, and that happens when i outline. I see it all in my mind and can normally get it down on the page okay, but the story really comes to life when i outline, and then it is reborn when i edit lol

I love going back over my work and editing. It helps me realize what isn’t flowing well, what words were strange to use, what sentences just make absolutely no sense because my brain was moving so fast that i forgot half of the words lol. But I love editing in general…. Its so fun.

66. How do you deal with writing pressure (ie. pressure to update, negative comments, deadlines, etc.)?

So far i haven’t faced a lot, which has been nice. I think what helps is that I do this because I like to. I love sharing it with people and knowing that others really enjoy the story,,, but its really a selfish act LOL

If i get negative comments,,, those fly over my head. The positive ones far outweigh the negative ones (although, i havent gotten any ! which is so nice lolol)

Updating and deadlines,,,, i set those myself ? so like,,, if they need to be moved or adjusted i can just do that

And you can too ! please work at your own pace. Don’t feel burdened by those who read or consume your creations, I am certain most if not all are patient and willing to wait however long it takes for you to feel like its good enough to share

73. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?

Hmmmmmm im gonna be a brat about this and say I write stuff that flows well. Funfact about lace, this is because I have written so many history papers, and those need to flow well in order to make sense. I go back over my works countless times to make sure everything is coming across well and that the audience knows whats going on. Is it perfect? No. I went back and reread chapter 1 of in the meadow recently and immediately wanted to start fixing lolol (i might do that 👀)

I would say it helps that I know grammar lolol,,,, i try to not put dialogue for different people in the same paragraph or do run on sentences,,, but I am certainly guilty of using the same adjectives over and over or putting too many commas in one sentence lol

75. What scene in in the meadow took the longest to write? What was difficult about it?

Okay,,, there have been a few parts where i had to pause and take a moment before i actually got my thoughts down

The first was the fight between Milly and Knives about Wolfwood. I had planned that scene so early on,,, but I … i couldn’t figure out each character’s motivation for SO LONG. it took me forever to find why Milly would even put up with him when he was the one to kill WW but also Milly wouldn’t hold a grudge like that and yakjdlkfjsdlj it took so long and i went over it a billion times to fix it and change it ugh

Another one that was sillier was in the latest chapter (28) I was having the hardest time planning out the silly conversation with the sisters. It literally made me stop writing for like a week T-T I couldn’t figure out how to make the conversation flow or how to make Vash seem like a sleaze while not a huge sleaze or for the ladies to tease Meryl UGH

I still don’t think its good but it was the best i could get it

I also avoided writing the final chapter for a minute cuz i didn’t want it to be over,,, then i wrote the whole thing in one day lol (squid knows lol)

Mission; scarlet stars fantasy au (working on finding a name)

-Prologue; kayl-

Notes before story; i dont write multi chapter fics often. And character behaviors might not be 100% accurate to those when the full game comes out(relying on the demo rn), but im having fun! Also, since its still small, MSS was originally created by my buddy, boris! As an instaronpa. Now its becoming a full on game and hes directing it, alongside one other persob and a team. Id give the demo a try! Its on itch.io(? I think thats what its called).

Promotion aside, ive never written a huge fantasy stoey before. Mostly vampires n dragons. Ive been having fun with this though! I get to write and design fantasy appearances for the characters. (Still fighting the urge to give bear-taur mezsha a bear nose...).

Also, while i created a few ocs for this au, Ivernake is not one. Hes from the original mss!! (Not in the demo tho).

Cordelia and casper are two of said ocs. Others that might show up are; atlas, caspian, athena(named after the greek god), and a few unnamed dragon ocs.

Also i hope i wrote this right im not great at writing in the perspective of characters who are meant to be the big bads of the story. And i hope the hunters are written at least okay. I have covid rn and i havent been able to do anything othwr than write and overthink and im overthinking rn lol. Im trying. Not beta read really.

“Captain!,” A heavily scarred man shouted, holding onto a net and heaving it onboard, “We got one of them fish beasts!”

Kayl walked down the stairs very slowly, gripping the hand rail and walking to the flailing mermaid cautiously. “Get some water, now. We need them alive.” He ordered as he squatted down in front of them.

The crewmate scrambled away to grab a bucket, leaving Kayl to talk to the so-called beast.

“Oi,” he started, “What’s your name.”

The mermaid met his gaze, yellow eyes glinting in fear as they trembled. “...Cordelia.”

The red-head glanced over his shoulder as the crewmate returned. The bucket had droplets of water dribbling down the side, causing the mermaid’s eyes to widen in desperation. She reached her hand out and caught a droplet in her palm, sighing with relief and struggling to catch more.

“Cordelia. I have a deal for you,” Kayl said roughly, knocking on the deck to get her attention, “if you tell me where to find harpies and avians, I’ll set you free.”

The bluenette mermaid looked hesitant for a few seconds before she nodded. “Okay. There’s a a flock of harpies north of here. You’ll know you’re close to them when you pass a large oak.”

Kayl nodded, grabbing the bucket from his crewmate and splashing some water onto Cordelia. “One more thing before i let you out of the net, do you know if any of those birdies is in contact with a mage?”

Cordelia wrinkled her nose at that, slapping her tail on the deck in frustration. “I don’t. Please, let me free now.”

Kayl stood up with a sigh, waving his head. “Well, i am a man of my word… Casper, undo the net and toss the fish overboard. There’s one more of these beasts that I must talk to.”

The creature had been on the ship for days, refusing to address the crewmates or the captain. They had been starved, dehydrated, even threatened. But they refused to speak. Kayl was sure it’d change today.

“Moth,” he said smoothly, briskly making his way to the cage, “are ya ready to speak? Name first. And then I’ll ask questions.”

The moth-creature looked up gloomily, their eyes sunken with exhaustion and hunger and thirst. “...Ivernake.”

“I’ve heard of ya. Famous boxer, i think? Must make loooots of money. I got a proposal for ya; if you give us a few thousand gold, we’ll let ya leave! Deal?” Kayl stuck his hand in the cage, cracking a grin.

Ivernake scoffed, smacking his hand away. “You aren’t getting anything from me. No matter what you and your scum crewmates do, i’m not gonna give you anything for my freedom if it risks others like myself being hurt. I’d rather die.”

The captain’s face became a sneer. “Then die you will.” He hissed, drawing the sword from his hip and planting it directly in the middle of the moth’s back.

Just as he drew his blade out and let the boxer fall to the ground, his crewmates broke into a riot. “CAPTAIN!”, one yelled. “SHE’S BACK!” Another screamed.

Kayl dove for cover before looking up. That purple-haired vulture had made a return, her arms full of bottles and her wings flapping furiously against the wind.

Drop, smash, drop, smash. It started with small yellow bursts, but then it grew larger. The ship began to sink, the cages began to slip around on the deck. His crewmates were wailing and abandoning ship.

It took a lot of effort for Kayl to stand up, but he managed. The last thing he saw before he slammed into the water was the lifeless, unforgiving, eyes of Ivernake.

He didn’t feel remorse, though. He felt angry. He couldn’t die now, he refused to. He swam against the tide and gasped for air, watching as his ship sank to the dark abyss– and a feeling of hatred engulfed his heart. He watched as the vulture dove down for one single cage, dragging it up in her talons and calling for help.

Three more avians flew in and lifted the cage with the lifeless body inside.

How many times had that same group come to sink his ship, how many times had he lost a crewmate and some good money? He couldn’t keep count. He was mad, and he certainly wanted those birds gone for good.

1. ride or die ship (your otp): CUNNINGWAY!!! They’re my girls. Chrissy and Heather my beloveds. I have never been so hyped for a ship before and this is the first time I’ve put this much effort into one, but if I don’t advocate for this rarepair then who will? (the answer is bambi. bambi will. but whatever, you get the point)

2. most annoying ship: there isn’t really a ship i find WHOLLY annoying. stancy maybe. i also think jancy and mileven have ran their course and jopper gives me a lil bit of the ick. obvi no hate to the ships or those that ship it!!

3. second favourite ship: ima have to say harringrove, but there are others i like a lot too!!

4. favourite platonic relationship: heather, chrissy & billy. the chaos trio. more should be done with them <3

5. underrated ship: there are so many!! argyle/chrissy (which i am lovingly referring to as pompompinapple, just try and stop me)? byergrove (billy/jonathan)? calicheer (billy/chrissy)??? how can i possibly choose????

6. overrated ship: uhhhh this feels dangerous. but steddie. dont get me wrong, i love this ship, but the boom in works for them was INSANE cause i dont think they have TOO MUCH chemistry in canon (tho there 100% is a good bit and it makes sense)

7. one thing i would change in canon: the blatant lack of care the main cast have for characters outside their group. no empathy for billy, barely anyone looking into heather, characters dying that no one mentions again…

8. something canon did right: I really liked steve and dustin’s dynamic. like, a LOT. they cocked it up a bit in s4 for the sake of ‘haha, dumb steve’ but yeah. theyre sweet :)

9. a thing i’m proud of creating for the fandom: my sideblog @poolsidepanic . i know that its a niche ship but i hope i help other people who love them as much as me actually be able to enjoy their ship and not just… be disappointed when they come up empty handed. the art and little fics and such i make over there make me so happy <3

10. a character who is perfect to me (wouldnt change a thing): heather. sassy, bitchy, yet kindhearted lifeguard? yes. the only thing id change is the DISSERVICE THE DUFFERS GAVE HER WHEN THEY KILLED HER AND IGNORED HER EXISTENCE.

11. the character i relate most to the most and why: steve. just how he responds to the offhanded comments the people he cares about make to him, that they never seem to realise hurt.

13. something ive learned from the fandom: idk. ive always wanted to be a positive person but seeing some of the toxicity in the fandom has made me really want to keep my little blog as positive and safe as i can for everyone. some things we see SUCK but if i can make someones day a lil better id like to? so not really a learn but an encouragement to be nicer wherever i can

14. three tags i seek out on ao3: i dont read a lot of st fanfiction, actually. i havent been in the mood for it for AGES!! but in general im a slow burn, hurt/comfort, angst kind of person. i love the occasional, agonising right person not enough time or some character bashing for the sake of compelling suffering (if done right!!!)

15. a song i strongly associate with my otp/favourite character: ooooh fun!!! ‘Groan’, ‘Wet’ and ‘Maggot’ by Dazey and the Scouts are so Billy. ‘Drunk Walk Home’ by Mitski gives me Chrissy vibes, and ‘Maggot’ again for her tbh (billy and chrissy, my sad beloved blorbos). there arent any songs i associate with cunningway yet tho 😔

it started back in mid octoberish last year, i was still riding off the tragedy high of There’s Something I Have To Say and i watched several youtube videos about building collapses and fires and i thought hehe i should do this to the seisoukan dormitory

BUT I COULDNT JUST BE NORMAL ABOUT IT NO.. i had to decide who dies now.. who lives.. who gets injured.. and i couldnt decided that on my Own of course . so i had a randomizer decide for me! live on vc with erin, i had a randomizer choose how many idols died and who would die ^_^

i cannot stress enough it chose violence Off The Fucking Bat . it killed TEN idols. THATS A FIFTH OF THE CAST DEAD. and what more it chose THE most tragic people to kill LOOK

AIRA? TSUMUGI? TORI? KANATA HIMERU YUTA MAO SHU? MITSURU AND NAGISA?? ALL THOSE FATALITIES.. i also determined casualties and witnesses through the randomizer and my GAWD.. not a single unit went unaffected by this mf fire!!!!!!

i started this fic actually because i really really wanted to write disaster aftermath and maybe a little bit of anzu stress 👉👈 becos i thought itd be so slay if ensemble square suffered an insane loss and had to figure out how to bounce back when its biggest greatest stars have been snuffed out by tragic fate.. also wanted to write some insane political dialogue between P-Association, ES’ executive board, Eichi, etc etc etc becos i havent read main story at awll and wanna see P-Association fight for their lives trying to keep ES together

for what i actually have of the plot!! it starts with Anzu reflecting on the aftermath of the tragedy (but i may change it to be her presence at the scene after emergency services are called in?) and the actions she has taken since. to mitigate immediate public outcry and limit how much backlash the idols themselves got, after releasing a very rushed investigation, Eichi determines that it was simply an unprecedented accident with no one at fault, but was unable to produce evidence in what exactly even caused the fire; of course, people start to blame the P-Association for not protecting their idols better, so Anzu turns to launching her own investigation into what happened with Ibara’s help !!

for reasons on what actually caused the fire i have very little . something something building’s integrity was failing but no inspections were scheduled for a few months before the incident. Tetora left the gas stove on and the kitchen brerw orp . Natsume performed some insane tragedy curse Gone Wrong . i do not have anything set in stone because its all about Anzu + producers managing the aftermath

at one point Anzu and Ibara ask the idols themselves for help because terrible as it is, first-hand account is some of the best evidence one can hav.. leading to a big therapy-styled circle <- this is The most daunting part of writing because i have to write everyone Right or ill die. but i do like what little i have so far.. maybei will bost it.. b it thank you for reading my looong long rant about seisoukan fire ^_^ my idea is that it really was Tetoras fault but not entirely his. something something Tetora leaves the gas stove on overnight, the building’s gas meter is malfunctioning so all the propane goes unnoticed, an explosion occurs the next morning and several gas mains go craaazy and also ecplode. there is no sense to any of this by the way i just want insane amounts of literal tragedy to happen to ES

also yes the enstragedy mood WAS inspired by hiddeneclipse’s We will be fine i cannot stress enough how much that fic has changed me how much it had rewired m . if i ever meet hiddeneclipseni think i would simply fall to my knees and kiss their feet

Does Jeff ever miss his little brother? Does he know he's alive?? And how would he react to seeing his baby brother?

not going to structure this like my normal posts since this might be more rambly but but!!

tackling the first question first: my personal interpretation of jeff is still standard to what you would expect from many other interpretations (at least.... i think so... i must admit i havent interacted much with the fandom since the 2010s sooooo... not sure if it stills holds to any present day hcs!)... you know, arrogant immature and full of himself, just about still as unhinged as before... but i like to think that every now and then he has moments where hes just. normal. well not normal normal, definitely not going to get there anytime soon especially given that in my au hes on the run and bouncing around. cant really receive any mental help when youre hiding from authorities.. getting back to the topic, these moments are few and far between and its in a weird way, him reminiscing on how things used to be. i fully blame this on a fic i read in middle school, that literally shifted how i view some crp characters (shrugs)... but yes, i think in those moments he would miss him. a lot. those small pockets generating enough guilt to get him to slow down and think over everything that's happened since then. i think it would send him in a short little moment of depression, actually. at least as long as hes alone and by himself where hes left with his thoughts. again, these moments dont come often nor do they last for long. slaps that man with mental clarity

second question! at least within the context of my hcs and au! i dont think he would know unless he stumbled upon him! though imma be real ive considered making liu... dead in my au since i never got into his lore and stuff but who knows.. maybe hes out there doing his own thing while jeffs over here doing his own stuff.. but as far as jeff is aware, liu is deceased

third question: i think it would be a mix of emotions! i think it fully depends on jeffs current mental state that will determine his reaction. theres so many factors that can go into this too; is liu trying to get revenge? was jeff going to kill him before realizing who he was chasing? do they just casually run into one another? loads of possible scenarios, really! but as i said, i never got too into lius lore so im unsure which is most in character for him. i feel if jeff is having one of his moments mentioned above i think he might try to apologize and make it up to his brother... might be totally crushed when he receives no forgiveness (rightfully, in my opinion).. or maybe he'll try to act buddy buddy with his brother, like nothings changed (i can see this being more likely when jeff is just. being jeff).. though i dont think any real connection can be made between these two anymore... though reading through lius wiki, its said somewhere that liu forgives him.. so maybe theres an understanding between the two, but still no connection. peaceful parting, you know? many ideas many thoughts, im just unqualified to build on them at the moment due to not knowing much of liu
