*#toughestbattles #preachtheKingdom #thehighercalling #provingthefaith #actsoffaith* http://ChristianityOriginal.com/Proof *#followingChrist #worksoffaith* Aren’t we supposed to follow Jesus Christ to prove our faith? Yes, of course. But *how does one follow him* really? *Jesus himself answers:* Jesus said to another man*, "Follow me."* He replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you *go and proclaim the kingdom of God"* Luke 9:59-60. This view from my window 🤟🏻 - Idk, but ever since traveling to California, I’ve felt the destined need to go back there. I’m not meant to finish the rest of my soul journey being bound by the hills of Appalachia. God placed me here so I could learn and grow and become who I’m meant to be through the experiences I’ve gained during my time spent in the mountains of West Virginia, but I feel in my soul I’m at a point of spiritual transition now, a crossroads, leading me to the personal truth of my entire life...my destiny — a period of boundless love and light and sharing the journey with God and with you 🙏😇💯 - Be well. During the old times, the people of God were either so obedient or disobedient. There is really no in-between. Now, as the Israelites disobeyed God many times, God has given them prophets to remind them in the way they should go. One of these prophets is Moses, who personally talked to God in mount Sinai, and who really witnessed how powerful our God is. So part of these reminders is our verse today. Moses reminded the people of Israel to walk in obedience to the commandments that the Lord has given to them so that they will live and prosper, and they will prolong their days here.
Why did Moses have to remind them about all of it? It is because they are hard-headed and like sheep, they tend to walk away from their shepherd and venture into places that can endanger them. Actually, as we hear how they were able to talk to God, and how they literally can hear His voice and see miracles, we can ask why they would still continue to disobey Him? However, as our knowledge deepens, we will know the fact that we are really naturally sinful. All of us are naturally sinful and we always desire to sin. Whatever we do, we always desire to sin. So, that’s why whatever they see, hear, or witness, they will always desire to sin and not to obey God.
Thus, this is the reason why Moses has to remind them about these all over again. No, this is not only for them but also for us. If they were able to disobey God, even after witnessing Him first hand, how much more, we? So, we really have to be always reminded by this that we must walk in obedience and obey what the Lord commanded us to do. We are not under the law, but under grace, but that doesn’t mean that we are free to do any sin because we are saved. As people who are saved by grace through faith, we also have to understand that our salvation produces obedience. If before, they don’t have the power to obey, now, we don’t also but through Jesus Christ we have.
So, we are expected and we ought to follow God and obey Him because we can. It is not impossible to obey Him, but it is possible through Christ. Therefore, we must walk in His path, focus our eyes on Christ and follow all that He commanded us to do. After all, if we believe and claim that we are truly saved, our desire to obey God will naturally come out. Although our sinful nature will always try to crawl back, we have now the power to ignore it and choose to obey God above all else because of Christ. Thus, let us obey God, walk in obedience to the commands He gave us, and He promised that we will prosper and live long.

What Is True Happiness?
Tumblr media
How many people have gotten into their minds, that God is not a happy God. That the Christian life is not supposed to be about being happy. Sure it's supposed to be, but not really happy.. What I found in the Bible and in the teachings throughout my life in church, is something very different than that. Happiness is good. I find that happiness through Jesus Christ, actually brings us eternal happiness, also bring us here and now in our present lives - the happiness and joy in Christ! Obedience, following Christ, serving Him, glorifying God, enjoying the riches of who God is, sharing the gospel with other people. That's what brings happiness to our lives. God bless you, Read the full article

Not a typical thanksgiving wish to all BUT it must be something we chew on We all have so much to be thankful for but let’s be honest, how are we all doing with that? God brought this verse to my attention yesterday as we sang “yes I will” @deepwaterchurch and it was the Lord asking me a question that I will leave all of us with “Will you truly bless my name in the lowest valley? And will you truly praise my name when your heart is heavy?” This verse shows us why thanksgiving is more than nice things, turkey, best wishes, and whatever other positive things we are want or have. When nothing is working, when there’s no clarity of how things will work out for the better, and when there is just failure after failure with no results, we are called to REJOICE Not because we should bat an eye to what’s going on but because God is good - Hes saved us, he’s delivered us time and time again, and He is the only true hope we have in the times where the weight is too much for us to bear God bless everyone on this day to give thanks... “Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?” Isaiah 58:6. . . It’s really easy for us to miss the point of fasting. Especially during the season of Lent, it often becomes centered around what we’re “giving up” or “doing” for God, and it turns into this religious ritual or even a bragging right among peers. Meanwhile, our hearts and lives are hardly changed—we continue to lie/cheat/steal from one another in different ways, but it’s all good, because we’re fasting for God, right? . . Something I’m continually learning is that to God, it doesn’t matter how obediently we follow these religious rituals if our hearts are still filled with the same greed/lust/hatred/selfishness/injustice/etc. Why bother fasting, serving, or even praying, when inside our hearts remain unmoved and unchanged? . . Jesus says: “On the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness [...] Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.” (Matthew 23). . . What we say or do (or fast) is meaningless if it does not come from a heart that is wholly surrendered to the love and grace of God... But if our hearts ARE surrendered, the power of His love and His Spirit produces a LIFESTYLE of humility, grace, love, justice, etc. that go far beyond the act of fasting in itself. . . #foodforthought #Lent #day2 #39daystillEaster #YOBL #day46 #dailybread #dailyreflections #fasting #obeying #followingChrist #notjustreligion #lifestyle

bibleverse biblereflection “Jesus replied, ‘Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them’.” - John 14:23
When we are asked what is the best possible way for us to show our love to someone, how should we answer it? On an honest note, we may say that if we give our time or we give them gifts or know his or her love language. However, we have to see that the best possible way to love someone is through sacrifice and obedience. When we love our significant others or our parents, our family, we will see that it is not just merely giving our time or giving them gifts, it’s actually sacrificing. It’s them over us. So, where does obedience belong? Well, obeying or respecting them in such a way that you follow them, and not doing what they don’t want you to do.
So, we came to the understanding that love can be shown in the best way through sacrifice and obedience. Now, this is why we are reminded of this so that we will understand our verse today. We will get to see why Christ said that if anyone loves Him, they must obey His teaching. In loving, obedience really comes together with it. We cannot say that we love someone, but continue to do what the other party loathes. If we love, we have to come to an understanding that we will sacrifice what pleases us that can hurt the other party. So, if we love God, we will obey Him, and follow Him even if it means sacrificing our pet sins. After all, it is still for us, not for Him.
We have to understand that the one who will benefit from this is not Christ, but we are. God will remain, God, He will remain loving and good, even if we don’t obey Him. However, we are nothing without Him. We need Him, and the only way to truly have Him and the Father in us is through accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior. Now, it is not just accepting Him or believing in Him by words, but also by the heart. If we truly believe in Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, it will manifest in our lives. It will make us obedient to Him and follow His path. Yet, if our life doesn't show it, then we must check ourselves again. So, we must understand that loving Christ means obeying Him and living our lives filled with Him. We must not continue to sin because we are not slaves of sin anymore but we already have freedom.
Therefore, as people who claim to love Christ, we must obey Him and make sure to give Him our lives. God is not asking for a sacrifice that requires death anymore because Christ has already done it for us, now the only response we can do is to offer our lives as living sacrifices. Thus, we must give our lives, and obey Christ at all costs. Let us live our lives in complete obedience to His commands, and have Him as the center of our lives. May we fully accept Christ and manifest Him in our lives through loving others unconditionally too.
