Been a while since I made a wreath and I quite missed their elegance and simplicity 😋 And since I chose Cherry Blossoms as theme for this month... how could I actually do without one? I actually wanted to ask you guys if you know any good tutorials/classes/tips on how to draw florals realistically. So some of these prompts are used as an opportunity to do a two for one. So for the first one I did a #helleborus from the book #floralsbyhand but used the day 7 prompt to #draw the same flower with 3 different tools. The page with all the colourful tulips, the prompt was draw as many flowers as you can in 3 minutes. I plan on using this as an activity in future with students. With mine, I drew as many flowers as I could and then I quickly coloured it after but perhaps if some of you were teaching older kids they can use three minutes to draw, three minutes to add detail, and three minutes to colour in? The black-and-white contrast piece that I used actual black #ink for, the prompt was incorporate geometric shapes. I used an activity from the book and did #wildroses. My favourite geometric shape has always been a #circle. Anyone else? I'm in love with this cheap Khadi paper sketchbook, did I mention that already? 😋 My boyfriend loves Cherry branches, so I thought why not indulge him? He's been planning and scheming every detail related to our new house and I can't help but admit how lucky I am to have a partner so engaged in our future and in our well being. It's also new for me to let go of control, ever since I was 19 I was pretty much on my own and taking my own decisions... and not really sharing much of my burdens with anyone. The downside of all that freedom was that I was alone almost always when I was going through a rough patch. Now he's here, he doesn't always know what to say or do, but you see how much he cares and it makes whatever is putting you down less important and less painful. So, to honor his beautiful influence on me, and his birth month, I'm going to go with a Cherry theme for August.
