All the bells and whistles and shiny new toys, this place had. Guin reassembled the one he'd helped himself to - a Nosler 21, shit, a pleasant surprise - for the second time, eyes elsewhere. Squinting at the unnecessary flatscreen guide to this gussied up firing range. He'd taken his time with it, letting his hands get to know the rifle on their own, unseen, as he watched through the range guide. Bleeding edge. To think, they could've set up a couple cans and called it a fucking day. Spared a few cool mil, most likely. Goddamn ridiculous.

That said, he couldn't not try the night sim.

Pressing the last cartridge into place, ready in the chamber, he let the bolt clack - smooth, quiet, good - and started clicking his way through the screen, going over modes and shit. Those fucking overhead lights dropped. Were replaced by a silvery-blue, faint glow, overhead. He dimmed that a little further. Just a sliver of moonlight. Or close as he'd get, in here. One last sip of coffee, another drag on his smoke - both first of the day, he'd got up early, ready to miss the no-doubt crowded defense seminar as he settled into the armory his own damn way - he balanced his cigarette between the lip and handle of his mug and stepped to the firing line. Alright; rifle shouldered, boot on the ready sensor.

The live alarm rang out, and - the goddamn door opened, with a hiss. Guin stepped back, clapping the Nosler to his shoulder, finger off the trigger. "Seminar's in the gym 'til later," he sighed, taking that cigarette back up, the cherry stoking red in the low, low light. He'd already had to tell a few over-keen new hires who'd mucked the schedule up. Site personnel, so far; this, unfortunately, was one of his. Theirs. Smooth Operator's. Whatever the hell. Somebody from that gone-stale meeting. "Back the way you came. Second door on your left. Sounds like a playground." Kato and his security set seemed alright, but... God, he didn't need to sit in on a pack of padded-up researchers and raw-assed newbies getting taught how to carefully fight for their lives.

gonna make a post ab something nobody else cares about as per usual! as a bit of a redneck it bothers me when people use "glock" to refer to all guns SO i am gonna provide a wittle bit of info relevant to the st fandom.

if ur writing st fic where people use guns: nancy has a soviet makarov (which is a semi-automatic pistol) that she got off one of the dead dudes in s3, and a smith & wesson revolver stolen from lonnie byers in s1. in s3, she uses a remington 12-gauge shotgun that belongs to hopper when the meat flayer attacks the cabin. the shotgun that she saws off in s4 is a winchester model 1200. hopper also uses a smith & wesson revolver in s3 and that would presumably be his personal weapon, not something issued by the hawkins pd. most people in hawkins, like hopper and lonnie, would probably favor american manufacturers like smith & wesson, colt, and remington. jason threatens lucas with a colt python.

it's also likely that a lot of citizens in hawkins would have hunting rifles. if you want a specific model to namedrop, one of the most popular rifles of all time is the winchester model 1894 (or model 94), which was produced from 1894 until 2006. they're often used for hunting deer and if someone says "deer rifle" they are probably talking about the model 94 or something very similar.

anyway that's ab it that should be like the basics u need for any fic casually involving guns in hawkins. if you have no personal experience with firearms and ur gonna write about actually loading and firing i'd recommend you watch a lil youtube video of someone loading/firing the type of gun you're thinking about. i will say that loading a handgun magazine can be deceptively difficult if you have small hands at least in my experience because it seems like a lot of them are manufactured with Dude Hands in mind. anyway that's all bye pls nobody unfollow me for having fired guns before <3

Venom,Thorpool an Cappool. they were sencond-hand of course an they came in a neat plastic box/storage case thing an had almost all their accessories,an some more characters that i split with someone. there was also Daredevil,Punisher,regular ol' Deadpool an the second half of this 'Deadpools Assemble' 4-pack,Cablepool an X-Men suit Deadpool with a suit of armor. i guess the original owner was a Deadpool an Marvel collector. i wonder how they parted with these :/

i actually think it's kind of a bummer to seperate the set lol but i also wasn't gonna just take all four either an i know he wanted the armored one. also he called dibs on Daredevil since he actually found em an asked if i wanna buy em an split em.

these are so much fun an they were a lot smaller in person than how i always pictured Minimates lol. i love their comic book-y shading an details.

also the removable parts an accessories are fun an you can get some different looks with em

like Venom here who's head an chest are removable like a helmet an armor revealing a printed on face an chest so you can have a different design Venom.

Tangerine could have stepped in. He could have stepped in long before the Captain, God bless him, had rammed a knife through that Nazi bastard's neck. But he wanted to see it. He wanted to see one of the real fuckers die before he did what he had to do. If they found out he hadn't stepped in, no doubt it would be a bullet in the head. But what they don't know won't hurt.

And speaking of bullets in the head...

...the cocking of a gun rung out behind the Captain.

"...the 'fing is, Captain, sir...I got a lot more on the line this time than a cold stack 'a cash. I got someone I gotta take care of an' take of them...well, first I gotta' take care 'a you."

He prepped the gun, removing the safety as a finger drifted to the trigger.

"Nothin' personal, Cap. In fact, I'd really rather not be doin' it to tell ya' the truth... I apologise."

A pause. A moment of hesitation quelled with a hushed exhale.
