oh yea i forgot to tell my tumblr girlies that i finished rod's route today which means i'm officially done with playing lisa for now ! i dont really feel like doing joyed route variants [too much branching for me. also i beat hardest rider on pain mode first try so it would be. so easy] and i got all 5 joyless endings so that's satisfying enough for me :]

Bro that angst potential ur separated au is keeping me up at night. You've said since Mikey would be a powerhouse due to training at such an early age, would it be safe to assume that Leo & raph are too? They've been mastering their ninpo 4 years? And if yes then dam they must be tanks. Must be a force to be reckoned with the bros and drax being all chaotic. Did they start to train so early bcuz drax only saw them as soldiers n stuff? Just a heads up, I'm still figuring out the story of the AU, so I don't know all the specifics yet, but here are some of my thoughts. And also, this became a bit of a ramble, that's what you get when you send long asks lol /lh

The way I'm thinking how Draxum is gonna be like in this AU is that he didn't view himself as the turtles' father initially, not really because he only viewed them as mere tools for him to use, he always saw them as people with induviduality. But rather, he hadn't really connected the dots that creating children + raising said children = parenthood, which led to Draxum like a year after mutating the turtles having the sudden realization one day of "OH SHIT AM I A DAD!?" and having a mini crisis because of that.

Anyway, while I don't think Draxum is the perfect dad in this AU by any means, he does genuinely care about his kids. (If Mikey managed to win Draxum over in canon after having spent a whole season fighting each other, there's no way he'd care about Mikey any less in a scenario where they've been on the same side since day one like they have in this AU.) He started training the turles from an early age and they are expected to help him with his Definitely Not Evil World Domination Plan, but they are still allowed free time and hobbies and such. And aside from some "ugh I don't wanna train right now I wanna play vidya gaemes" occasionally, the turtles never really opposed the idea of them becoming Draxums super soldiers. Kids are really easily influenced and if your parent keeps telling you that you are the heroes who are gonna save the world from evil, chances are you're gonna latch on to that narrative without question. But after meeting Donnie and April, who knows, it might be what finally starts making the other turtles question if their cause really is as just as they think :) That being said, I still have to figure out how Draxum would react exactly to his sons starting to oppose his world view.

Then their abilities! I also have to do more reasearch into exactly how the magic system works in RoTMNT cuz uhhh it's a bit unclear sometimes. Anyway, ninpo is specifically the magic used by the Hamato clan, and considering Raph, Leo and Mikey weren't raised as Hamato I don't think they would have access to that specific type of magic (though I still think they'd be be able to possibly unlock it later down the line) They would still have access to yokai magic, and of course the mystic weapons that they stole in the show would just have been given to them in AU by Draxum. And oh yeah, the brothers are powerful. To be fair, Donnie was able to keep up with Draxum pretty well in the pilot episode, so he wouldn't be COMPLETELY outmatched by his brothers. His tech is powerful enough that he'd be able to put up a decent fight even if he lacks mystic powers himself but..... three against one? Yeah, Donnie isn't winning any time soon. The biggest advantage he'd have would honestly be that his brothers wouldn't really WANT to fight him cuz they'd be all like "Long Lost Brother™??? 😭😭😭 Please come home Long Lost Brother™ we love you!!! 😭😭😭"

And I think Splinter would have kept both of their origins secret initially like he did in the show, so Donnie would't have any ninpo either, but I also think Donnie would still learn about the whole Lou Jitsu and Genetically Modified Super Soldier thing earlier than in canon. And god, yeah, learning about all of that would definietly be A Lot, which is why I still need time to figure out Donnie's exact reaction sorry Anon you're gonna have to be patient XD

Thinking about how one of the reasons I was so disappointed by TotK was because I’ve been spoiled by more narrative-driven indie games lately. Even if TotK Ganondorf was only played like a villain resembling the scariest versions of The Princess when he was threatening to break his seal, we still would’ve gotten a character with way more depth and opportunities for emotional attachment/sympathy.

Like…I don’t want Ganon to be a cute, cuddly, super-palatable and marketable same-aged bestie to the teenaged protagonists. I want to have that same pathos and emotional connection that I felt with his Wind Waker incarnation. That guy may have still been a child-punching jerk who was desperately trying to justify himself, but he was also lonely, maladaptive, and struggling with having lost everything partly by his own hands. Out of all the incarnations of this guy, he felt the most human, even if it was the more self-serving, self-pitying, self-destructive parts of humanity. If we must fight him, I want to feel that same uneasy emptiness where I’m left wondering if things could’ve been different and he didn’t have to die instead of a simpler, “Yay!!! U Beat Da Gaem!!!1!!” sendoff.

And if there’s anything Slay The Princess taught me, it’s that you don’t necessarily need a super complex motivation to tell a compelling story, or to start spinning more complex conflicts and narratives outward from that origin point. Sometimes “Let me outta this basement!” is enough. Especially when the character in question is so driven that they don’t care what they have to do or who they have to steamroll to finally reach freedom. Even if all the prisoner does is vindictively torture the player instead of auditioning for their sympathy in their attempts to escape, you can’t help but develop a strange sort of admiration for their tenacity and resourcefulness. Not to mention that, even in a purely antagonistic relationship, such a motive is an easy “in” for emotional connection to a character. Nobody likes being trapped against their will. Everyone forced into imprisonment would want to be free. Also, solitary confinement in particular sucks, and eons of that would be enough to make anyone ornery and desperate.

They didn’t even need to do much to reimagine Ganondorf for a new audience. Just give him a more realistic response to the archetypal Zelda Series situation that he was forced into like BotW’s Link and Zelda. The Holy Maiden is made to suffer, the Hero is made to grow up too fast and put through grueling challenges, and the Monster is made to be imprisoned and be cut down after he escapes because his mere existence threatens the Holy Maiden. (And even if he suffers just as much as the Maiden, it’s all his own fault because he’s Evil, so don’t you dare feel sorry for him!)

Calamity Ganon wanted out of that basement, just like Zelda wanted out of her role and the pressures that came with it. You’re really telling me Nintendo couldn’t have done something more compelling with that? It’s absolutely possible for a character whose history has expanded him to a near-eldritch multiplicity and timespan to still feel human and relatable. You just have to be willing to look at that character with genuine affection as a writer, even at his absolute worst.

New Secret Boss OC!!! This is one I'm actually gonna use!!!

Alright, it's been a hot minute, so I made a new Secret Boss. This is her.

As you can see, SEE'S FREAKING ADORABLE I LOVE HER. Secondly, with the flower thing on they're neck, this is a boss for Flower King. Her name is Funn N. Gaems and she's gor a bit of a temper. You'd find her near the beginning of the Dark World (You'd need to get an item to get to her) and then you could sit and have tea with her. She's nice...until Susie makes fun of her. Then she does a 180° and demands bloodshed. After all, IT'S ALL FUN AND GAMES UNTIL SOMEBODY DIES!!! You'd use the light blue soul for her fight.

Now, I don't really have everything fully figured out with her. I don't have a speech quirk ready, I kinda have a concept for what item she is (Lost Board Game piece which Kris used a lot), etc. But I really like the personality I've built for her and just the concept and design. Just look at her!!!

Oh yeah, one last thing. I made this design while just jotting down half-finished designs for secret bosses. I'll leave it here in case anyone else wants to use any of the designs to turn into their own bosses. Hope you liked this!

So then tell me who are 3 easiest and 3 hardest bosses of Bloodborne for you!! (you may add more if you want)

Okay, first of all:

HAAAAHAAAHAAA LOOSER LOOSER WEENY BABY WITH A SKILL ISSUE AHAHAHAHAAHAHA HOW DO YOU FIND DARKBEAST PAARL HARD TO FIGHT LMAOOOOO FDJHFHSD HE IS SO WEAK THAT GASCOIGNE'S DAUGHTERS WOULD BE ABLE TO DEFEAT HIM BWAHAHAHA LOOK AT THIS FAILURE NO SKILL ISSUE ACTUALLY BECAUSE NO SKILL = NO SKILL ISSUE LMAOOOOO

3) Pretty hard: Motherfucking Watchdog of the Old Lords! This is hard to even explain, but for some reason I can never reliably dodge its attacks! Naturally, I mean the later dungeons one.

2) Very hard: Brador's dick when Laurence extends his hand for reverential kissing Laurence the First Vicar! The day when I am able to kill him without Valtr's help will be the cold day in Hell. ...except it fucking WON'T be because then this monster will get back at me and melt it all over again!! You might have noticed I am having trouble with the fire like a proper witch oughtta

3) Impossible: God FUCKING DAMN ANNOYING BITCH Abhorrent Beast in Lower Loran! Oh my FUCKING god, why the FUCK this FUCKING FUCK is in such a FUCKING narrow space!! @fantomette22 was there for me during this battle and helped me! I just can't keep up with the pace and start panic-running and panic-rolling, which is NOT the way to go with this fast fucker!

Now, to the easy Bloodborne battles.

3) Pretty easy: Shadows of Yharnam. I somehow just beat them up even faster than they pull the giant snakes phase...? I actually have to deliberately hit them less to see it, just out of pity fdhshd

2) Barely a boss: Father Gascoigne. It is quite easy to just stagger and visceral him, and also to know when to run! I don't know if counting the earliest boss is fair though... Still, pretty easy!

1) A little baby could do it: Darkbeast Paarl!! Damn, can you even IMAGINE having a trouble with this boss? Unbelievable! If I ever struggled with him, I'd be pretty ashamed!

I'm an early zoomer who wants to familiarize myself with the SNES and pre-GameCube games in general. Can you recommend any that can be finished in a short time, like two or three sittings?

I guess that depends on how long your sittings are, but I think SNES is better known for having substantially longer games than the more simple arcade ports that came before, so "two or three sittings" might be a tough recommendation. Personally speaking I get a bit fatigued and tend to take a while to finish games that are considered short and beatable in one sitting, I use save states in between play sessions ( or I used to, when I was still using emulation ) but if you want a shortlist of "one sitting gaems"

Super Castlevania IV

Magical Quest: Starring Mickey Mouse

Super Mario World

Any of the Super Mario All-Stars games

Do Dre Mi Fantasy: Milon's Quest ( may need english fan translation )

Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3, they're tough so some learning curve may be required

Generally any beat-em-up, Final Fight, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, ect, but Ninja Turtles is best.

Suppose any fighting game, if you care for those, Super Street Fighter II would be a god choice.

Star Fox, I'd recommend trying out the Star Fox EX romhack, as it makes the game run a bit more smoothly and has a lot of extra content.

Kirby superstar is five smaller games in one and each one is pretty short. You could easily split those play sessions up

An American Tale: Fievel Goes West is an adaptation of a sequel to a fantastic Don Bluth film. I don't remember if the sequel was any good but the game was a pretty average platform shooter that I beat in just a few hours, not very hard, mouse protagonist is cute.

You could probably take down Yoshi's Island pretty quickly I think the Mega Man X games are designed to be beaten in one day, they're a bit too hard for me though.

And you can probably pick up just about any puzzle game or arcade port and have a good time, some of them aren't meant to be beaten, rather, you set a high score. Bust-a-Move, Tetris Attack, Wario's Woods, things like that. If you want some interesting history, check out the SNES Mouse and Mario Paint, as well as Mario and Wario.

Kingdom Hearts isn't that complicated

lol here's my no context tl;dr of kh. It'll be very vague, rambly, and impossible to understand which basically defeats the whole point of this but it seemed funny to me to try as like a crack post since i havent posted much in a while:

So basically, sora and riku are best friends. They care very much about each other and u mustt understand this to understand why tf anything else happens in this universe.

In the first game, sora and riku are separated by the evil forces of Darkness. Sora goes on a whole adventure to find Riku, except Riku falls to darkness on the way and betrays sora. In the end tho, they make up and reunite. Except in the fight to contain the Darkness, sora and riku end up separated again.

In the next gaem, sora is yet again looking for riku since they were separated in the first game. The Bad Guys lure sora into their Evil Lair by implying/telling sora that riku is there. Except riku isn't, sora falls for the trap, and gets "put to sleep" as a result.

The story continues on riku's end, who is now on his own quest to "wake" sora from his "sleep". Except a few of the Bad Guys are absorbing sora's power while he's asleep, so riku has to deal with them in order to wake sora up.

We're now at kh2, when sora wakes up, presumably thanks to riku. Except they're still separated, so sora goes on another adventure to find riku. They eventually reunite and defeat the leader of the Bad Guys from before, and they can go home, roll credits, in peace, yes?

No. Because the guy they just killed wasnt actually the Final Boss, and so now sora and riku train and take a pacer test that will give them a Special Ability that will help them defeat the Final Boss (if they pass). They're supposed to be taking the test together, but mysteriously, sora and riku are separated at the beginning of the test. But even separated, they manage to work together to finish it.

Except, towards the end of the test, the Final Boss reveals himself, and reveals that he's put sora under a spell, basically, and so now, sora's "asleep". (Yes, again.) Riku (and friends) get rid of the Final Boss (for now), and riku completes his test by "waking sora up". So now riku has completed and passed his test, and therefore gains that one Special Ability that will help him defeat the Final Boss. But sora had succumbed to the sleep spell, and did not pass, and therefore does not gain the Special Ability.

So in kh3, sora goes on another adventure to gain the Special Ability, while riku uses his to enter a Dark World to search for a lost party member. Yes, they're essentially Separated Again, until sora can get the Special Ability. But nothing seems to work, until riku runs into trouble in the Dark World and sora's determination to save riku grants him the Special Ability. They reunite, find the lost party member, yada yada, until the time comes to finally face the Final Boss. And sora defeats him not by using the Special Ability but, by just. Talking it out. I guess. Lol

So the Final Boss is taken care of, the world is at peace, and sora and riku can go home, roll credits, in peace, yes?

No. Because actually, before sora defeated the Final Boss, the Final Boss kinda maybe sorta killed e v e r y o n e . And so! Sora went back in time, and used the Special Ability to bring his friends back to life. And then defeated the Final Boss as not-explained earlier. And because sora misused his Special Ability that way— he dies! Dies.

So that's it? No, because surely sora isn't truly gone, he's probably just "asleep" as fucking always, and so riku goes looking for him. Wow, role reversal.

Except, sora kinda maybe sorta is dead. But where do anime disney boys go when they die? Apparently they end up in some alternate universe purgatory until their fate is decided by disney execs.

But how would riku ever even think to look for sora in some parallel universe purgatory? Thing is, he runs into someone who's from the parallel universe purgatory, or at least the world it's based in, and she leads riku to that world. Where riku continues looking for sora, presumably to wake him up for the tenth time. Who tf knows what sora's doing tbh. It's hard to tell from the trailer lmao

Lol so that was my kh tl;dr. I coulda totally summed this up in one sentence but i settled for summarizing some story beats/plot but with no context. This would probably be better in video form so i could actually use sound bytes instead of capitalizing every overused placeholder term lol
