A Dollmaker's Muse

A/N: Alrighty, anon. Admittedly I've never written for character x character stuff, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway. I thought up a way they could be cute together and wanted to write it out. Thanks for requesting, I hope you enjoy.

They compliment each other like cheese and sprinkles; unlikely, but still possible. And somehow? They can make the relationship work. Their first meeting backstage, a certain dress-ruined mess incident, and Opera Cake’s decision to leave his old theatre group for the Fantasy Musical Troupe led up to their unique relationship now in the present.

For the time they've known each other, Soufflé's always admired the hat wearing singer and could never figure out a way to describe his admiration. Opera Cake was quiet in person, but on stage he could be anyone else. Outside of theatre, he was cold and lacked expression, saying only a few words when it was needed. That seemed to rub some people the wrong way and assumed the Food Soul was too arrogant and self confident. Whatever they thought wasn't true at all. Opera Cake just loved what he did so much that he'd give everything to perfect his talents to pursue it.

When Soufflé watched a performance of his for the first time, something seemed to resonate in him. Soufflé thought he was pretty and perfect as one of his dolls. He certainly liked giving Opera Cake a doll of each and every one of his roles in all of his plays, but Soufflé wasn't satisfied. He was similar to Opera Cake in that way: loving something so much to the point of wishing to perfect it.

Opera Cake found comfort in their little backstage meet ups. He subconsciously hoped that the showtime for his plays would come faster so Soufflé could see them and they could meet up again. Soufflé already loved being able to see Opera Cake on stage, and being able to have small moments with him afterwards was like a dream. While some members of the troupe weren't always hospitable to audience members going backstage, they didn't bat an eye if that person was Soufflé. If there was any trouble, Soufflé's... darker self might come out to "help out". Opera Cake was startled at first, but learned that he was still Soufflé. Different, but still him, and he didn't mind one bit.

If there was ever a time where the two couldn't meet each other, whether they weren't in the same place or they got caught up in other affairs, Soufflé was always quick to write his singer a letter, and perhaps a small token of affection to be boxed up with it. Opera Cake enjoyed the solace and peace when he could meet with the dollmaker, and Soufflé felt the same.

In his eyes, Opera Cake’s voice and acting were unparalleled, and while others thought of his off-stage personality as off-putting, Souffle didn’t mind being the one to talk for the most of their time together. Normally Soufflé gets shy and less talkative with other people in fear of being annoying. With Opera Cake, there is no such judgement between them. The singer has taken on so many roles in various plays, it’s only natural that he listens to others with a generally open mind. Soufflé feels like he could comfortably ramble on with the confidence of knowing that there’s someone who’s willing to listen.

Season two isn’t (fully) real, it’s a peaceful, fragile existence

The more I rewatch the show and read different theories, the more convinced I get that S2 is some sort of elaborate dream sequence or a distraction or memory alteration attempt (Neil’s chaotic angsty ineffable husbands fanfic?). But not all of it.

(This gets kind of rambly so if you want my true hook, scroll down to the Michael Sheen Staged gif.)

Let me make this perfectly clear on the outset: I don’t think all of it is a dream, and I certainly don’t think the final 15/kiss is or is going to be discounted (and not only because there would be literal riots in the street, because there absolutely would be, but also I’m putting trust in Neil and the team wholeheartedly). I think that could actually be the domino that brings them out of it. I read somewhere recently something along the lines of “something loved can never be truly forgotten” and I think that fits my theory perfectly. I’m also making no claims (yet) as to what I think is real and what I think is “enhanced”.

Also I apparently am either too far deep or cannot work the tumblr search function with any modicum of usefulness, so please link me to the posts I’m alluding to if you think it’s the right one. I will edit them in and sincerely apologize to the brilliant minds that exist outside the confines of the search function.

Now, On with the show:

You can be in charge of the biscuits

Maggie and Nina: Look, I get that recasts happen, they change the actor playing the character because of scheduling conflicts, etc. But to cast the actor/actress that is immediately recognizable from a prior interaction (whether with the characters or the audience) is not something you see. FFS Maggie DIED in S1, and Nina was pivotal (maybe too strong a word, but enough to be memorable surely) to the storyline. It’s like someone said “Hey, they’ll work, bring em in, no I don’t care that they were in S1. It’ll be a test of how well our facade is working. If they (A&C) notice, then the gig is up and we’ll know it.”

Also why in the world is the owner of a coffee shop offering Eccles cakes to calm down, when camomile tea is right there? (Resists the urge to go off on a tangent on how Eccles cakes were used to celebrate the “Eccles wakes” at the feast of St. Mary (yes that Mary) and how that ties into the second coming plot.) Do Eccles cakes count as biscuits? Ugh another thought for another day I suppose.

It has come to my attention during writing that Shax is the same actress as Madame Tracy. I have less of an affront to this knowledge since I’m 2 months deep and countless rewatches in and only just noticed. But I’m going to pop it in this header anyway. Are you really trying to tell me that a show that apparently has demon entrances happening precisely on the 6s really didn’t think these choices out very deliberately? (Edit 3: https://www.tumblr.com/noneorother/735823422626709504/the-secret-timeline-inside-of-good-omens-season-2 JFC why can I never find the blogs when I want to insert them? It was a breakdown about how all of the demon entrances happen at a 00:00 that ends in a 6.)

Text to mail disconnect: There’s been a theory pop up (at the time one writing this at least (edit 2: https://www.tumblr.com/azariah-z-fell/743434274903048192/it-is-extra-weird-because-it-is-on-the-record) that Maggie actually texted Aziraphale her request to talk, and it was magically translated into a physical form, and the spelling error (that so many people are shouting DEMON at) was just an autocorrect typo. But, surely Maggie would know he doesn’t text if she knew him for several years at least. We’ve never seen either of our boys text, only call. Seems like someone doesn’t know how phones work, but wanted to get the message received? See also: currency, below.

You ever think, what’s the point?

Numerous people have pointed out the same obvious background people. There are theories about the guy in the Hawaiian shirt being the second coming or something similar. I wonder if it’s some sort of play on a badly executed attempt to make Wickber Street seem “normal” in an alternate reality, an elaborate distraction, but they have to keep using the same character models because their imagination is just slightly better than Shadwells’ (Oh gfdi how did I miss Mrs. sandwich right there). I’m not saying we haven’t done a “oh oops silly me I forgot something” but that isn’t usually done in the middle of a sidewalk. When Aziraphale is initially talking to Jim with the blanket, there’s a guy just chugging his arms outside the window, not walking. Another one in E3 when Shax show up outside the shop, a guy in an orange sweatshirt passes in the background, then passes again, and not close enough in time/area to just be the continuation of the walk. Especially in the early episodes, there are veritable conveyer belts of people, straight lines, no trying to pass, etc. I’m trying to look at the background in S1 and while there are still tons of people, the background is… livelier. People passing, shoving past, actually going places.

“I’m looking at the statue of Gabriel.” “Oh, good job?”

Aziraphale basically learns fuck-all when he makes the trip to Edinburgh. Granted, I do believe most of that was to make the Bentley “our car”, but so many things are out of character. The no drink, the over-the-top “investigation” (as awkward as he is, Aziraphale knows how to act more normally than that with humans), the background on the drive up there…

Somehow ALL the businesses on the street are different from Season 1?

A normal person would have moved out of the rain instead of just lolling there letting raid splatter their glasses, yeah? (As a person with glasses I can confirm).

“We have all the hosts of hell searching for him” cue Crowley looking around like then why the fuck are there still demons around me?

“I’m a bit out of miracles” and “that’s not how miracles work” from the guy who got written up for too many frivolous miracles.

The lack of (accurate?) paid transactions seems like whoever is pulling the strings has no concept of earthly money and how it’s supposed to work, just that it exists. Crowley and Aziraphale talk bluntly about poverty and know that money is needed and used in current society (“Give her the money, Angel”, Rome, Globe Theatre, 1941 magic shop, etc.). Could be a “let’s not get lost in the trivialities” thing but it does strike me as odd. Caveat: Aziraphale forgiving the rent doesn’t quite fit, but cost of the record is obscenely low.

But this does give me hope about the 3rd 1941 flashback, because they were using money accurately there, which hopefully means the flashbacks and memories aren’t being altered, just “present day”.

We’re real people

One of the overarching themes in Season 2 (and S1 now I think of it) is “stop interfering in the lives of other people”. Maggie and Nina, Job, Elspeth, the entire dance party, Warlock, the book of prophecy. It would be a shame if someone were to make sure I failed to be messing about in their own lives.

I had brothers, you don’t scare me

Something happened just before Maggie told them to “Come in here and say that to my face.” Another demonic turn potential here, but also kind of like someone’s saying “FFS get on with the plot”.

The book of love has music in it

This post https://www.tumblr.com/noneorother/731977308306636800/all-the-music-you-didnt-hear-the-good-omens (finally, one I can find!) popped up, and there’s another one that purports to have noticed that there’s music lines missing from the opening sequence (edit 1: Found it!: https://www.tumblr.com/dadesu/726651737165938688/anyone-noticed-the-missing-half-bar-in-good-omens ). Possibly Clueing us in that there’s something that’s missing elsewhere (I mean obviously, that’s the whole point of this season, is it not?).

So where do we go from here?

As much as I’d love to say “Alright so the kiss breaks the spell whoever was put over them because of ✨the power of love✨, the ruse will be revealed, and they’re not talking because they don’t have to”

I don’t know, my thoughts are just the overarching patterns I’ve noticed over many, many rewatches and probably reading a few too many magic trick theories and/or fanfics. I don’t intentionally make my theory posts open-ended, but in the end that’s the fun of it. Nothing has to be mutually exclusive (yes I’m referencing my “Is Crowley already the new Supreme Archangel” post, I think I’m allowed that much). I’m happy to be proven wrong, and probably will be.

But I will leave you with one parting thought: Crowley knows. He knows there’s furniture missing. (That’s why he keeps just tossing things everywhere, because he know it doesn’t matter.)

And he. Does not. Care. For it.

Mousse's Master Attendants, the princess doesn't like his new friends, so she tried to reverse the time to the day before they get to know them. Blue Cheese and his friends saved Mousse and form a troupe. Unfortunately Mousse was still harmed and "lost" his memories. Blue Cheese asked Nougat to join them.

Mousse always try to run away and saying Blue Cheese kidnapping him.

Mousse actually didn't lose his memories.

Blue Cheese want to recover Mousse so he ask his cousin, Mashed Potatoes for the "seed of Tree of Life and Dead", and also stole "Energy of Time and Dimension" from Sachertorte.

Blue Cheese and Nougat was summoned by a famous violinist, named Jackie.

Blue Cheese met Mousse, Chiffon Cake and Spanish Paella in Mousse's country and become friends.

Opera Cake is the singer invited by Blue Cheese.

Opera Cake joined the troupes after he finish performing the play for "Sin of Time", where he met the butler, Souffle and the author of the script and duchess, Fruit Tart. (They will be mentioned on the other blog)

(Note: The post is not much complete due to others story has not yet been out. But I'm just excited to post this now because I been waiting for this gang to be completed so...😋 And I'll try to update this when I've read all their stories. )

Some headcanons for maybe a MA who's into music and they summon either Blue Cheese and/or Opera Cake? :O

•Low-key it’s that possible but I headcanon that with a musical!MA that Blue Cheese and Opera Cake are summoned almost right after the other.

•Both food souls are very surprised to be summoned by such a music loving MA, But they are very happy about it.

•They both often ask MA to come watch them perform, wither it be just for a small practice in the restaurants garden or at their studios. Sometimes even at the theater.

•They constantly ask what kind of music they like and try to write up something close in their own style for them.

•They also like to sit and talk for hours about music, most of the time it’s about things like old records or Classical music. They really do enjoy having a MA who likes music just as much as them.

Not sure if I'm proud of this one really, but the Fantasy Opera Troupe do remind me of Morfonica that I wanted to make another set of Bandori × FoodFan.

I feel like Mousse and Tsukushi would get along pretty well, since they're both the shortest and being the leader of their group. Touko Toko and Chiffon are really talkative, watch them become friends under a sec lol. Mashiro would definitely ask Opera Cake for advices on singing and have him critique her lyrics. Blue Cheese and Rui? I think they would talk about their bandmates, with a mixture of good and bad. As for Nanami and Paella, I think she would be so impressed with Nanami knowing how to dance. She's a fast learner after all.

He is the Japanese voice actor behind Natto and Opera Cake (Food Fantasy) and Aether/Male Traveler (Genshin Impact)!

Right now, I only know little about his anime roles, but he did a good job as Hiroto Yasaka (Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue/ My Roommate is a Cat) and Sariel (Nanatsu no Taizai). Others may know him as Enta Jinnai (Sarazanmai).

A Night For You And Me

A/N: A soft and fluffy (and romantic) request? I hear you loud and clear, anon! For the time I had to write this one, I think I did pretty good! Thank you for requesting, I hope you enjoy.

Blue Cheese

Blue Cheese has always taken the greatest care for you, as he cherishes just about everything and everyone he loves. Every time you laugh it's like a special melody just for him to hear. He loves when you're close to him, every touch from you causing his heart to beat fast and his body to warm. Just the idea of you always brought a smile to his face.

On one night when both of you aren't busy, he brings you to someplace beautiful. Likely surrounded by nature, perhaps to a forest nearby, or a garden, or the sea if you happen to be close to one. Though, if none of those options are available, he hopes you wouldn't mind a grassy clearing.

You two would arrive there when the sun began to set and the stars sparkled into view. Violin in hand, Blue Cheese would play you whatever you want. He also has a song dedicated to you. He'd been stalling on it since he fussed over what melody suited you best, but in the end he decided to improvise, going off of the feeling of the night, the earth beneath your feet, and your gaze focused on him. After he finishes, Blue Cheese reveals some small snacks he'd taken with him for the two of you to share under the stars. He hopes you enjoy them.

Blue Cheese is so incredibly fond of you. He swears that even the best symphony wouldn't rival the lovely sound of your voice. Any imperfection you think you have, he'd shut it down as fast as he could make a new melody. He can't fathom how lucky he feels, how especially how lucky he is when he's with you.

Opera Cake

Ever since Opera Cake was summoned by you, he realized that he might've grown to like you more than he should. It was natural for Food Souls to be loyal to their attendants, but his loyalty to you seemed... different.

He appreciated your hospitality and kindness for starters. You were especially nice to him and he couldn't help but feel a certain warmth from you. Every smile from you makes his heart skip a beat, any compliment enough to catch him off guard. It's taken him a while not to hide his face from yours with his hat. He's been flattered by many others before you, mostly for his voice and opera performances, but your attention stirred something in him that he can't describe.

As a romantic outing, he decided to take you someplace after one of his opera shows. He got you tickets to the best seat in the house, cost free and with the best service. You already went to most of his shows whenever you could spare the time, and he appreciated your audience every single time.

Opera Cake still gets shy from time to time, not always brave enough to initiate things between the two of you. But this? When it's just the two of you, here and now? He thinks he can manage; he certainly doesn't mind being the centre of your attention.

·Souls with charm/silence (Peking Duck and Foie Gras in particular. Also an Opera Cake with an atk spd. FA can be quite formidable as he has a charm effect on his energy/linked skill.)

·Crab Long Bao

·Mapo Tofu

·Oyster (a 5 star Oyster can and will shred your team. Especially with his link partner Spaghetti.)

·5 star Turkey

·If you see a team with one-three souls and they have a high soul power rating, run. A full team doesn't necessarily mean you'll win here...

·Linked skills that have instant kill effect (Double Scoop + Moon Cake, Soufflé + Opera Cake)

·Boston Lobster has such an effect on his basic skill

·"whale food" teams (5 star Turkey, 5 star Mapo Tofu, 5 star Oyster... Etc.)

·While B-52 isn't as big a threat, his stun on his energy/link skill w Brownie is worth noting. Although it can be countered with timing/dispel/certain artifacts.

·Charm>Silence>Stun
