Btw sorry I just dipped last month I got a lot going on I went on a very short notice snowboarding trip (I had a blast, no dislocated legs this time) and now I'm back in uni and my schedule is actual hell I have 8am-8pm classes all week and work practices at the hospital now !! yippee !!!

Wtf Genshin leaks?!??!??!?

I redesigned Solomon! Gave his clothes some extra patterning. This is my Genshin Impact OC.

Backstory is under the cut! Content warning for: addiction, depression and suicide ideation.

Solomon was a Fatui field scout, captain of a small squad, and initially wielded a Geo Delusion instead of a Vision.

He was very depressed and suicidal. He actually hated his job and organisation - it wasn't as romantic as it was cut out to be when he entered, of course. It was very isolating, members were encouraged to turn on each other and to keep secrets, or to use and then abandon anyone when convenient. You know the Fatui. They're a mess.

Solomon wanted to leave the organization - but he knew way too many secrets. He knew the Fatui authorities would have to take him out once they realized he was no longer loyal.

On top of that, he developed an addiction to his Delusion, and the only reason he could keep it was for his job and missions. If he left - even if he were allowed to leave - he would have to hand it back (or else).

He didn't have the strenght to leave, and he felt trapped. Nowhere to go, no action he could take that would really free him.

In the middle of the Liyue quest, Childe asked the Traveler a favor to check on a Fatui team that had gone silent in Qingyun. That's how Aether met Solomon. He tracked him down, and when he got there, Solomon was contemplating jumping off the mountain.

And Aether for some reason talked him out of it, even if they were, technically, enemies. I mean. He's not just gonna let the man die.

Aether gave Solomon a shred of hope, and something he hadn't felt in a long time: Defiance, against the Fatui.

Solomon sees an opportunity in there and becomes an ally to Aether, in order to occasionally sneak Fatui secrets and intelligence to him. Like a double agent. It's rebellion, he wants Aether to be an obstacle, a pebble on the shoe of this organization that brought him so much contempt.

Solomon is still depressed, but after that, he starts working on a way to escape the Fatui without dying.

One day he finds the perfect opportunity and fakes his own death.

Except, of course, he takes his Delusion as he runs away.

It gets tracked, and he is found again by the Fatui, in the abandoned hilichurl camp he used as a hideout.

He is surrounded, there is a huge battle. And that's when he gets his Vision. His real Geo Vision. It severs his connection to the Delusion and grants him a gust of energy, enough that he can take down the soldiers surrounding him.

After that, well. The Fatui can get their Delusion back, and Solomon becomes a lesser problem. He is still wanted for the secrets he knows, but it buys him enough time to hide, and start the rest of his life.

And from then on, he has to discover what it's like - life - now that he's no longer tied to the Fatui. Now that he no longer wants to die.

There will be a road to recovery. Depression doesn't go away like it's magic, and neither does his addiction - he still has to live with the side effects of using a Delusion for so long. But now, he has something he didn't before. Now, he fights to live.

Kate is an oc that is very dear to me because I made her original Undertale version when I was in a very dark place. She represented all my worst feelings, the feeling of emptiness and also my worst intrusive thoughts about harming others (expressing those thoughts through fiction bc I could never do that to anyone IRL) and the shame that came about having those intrusive thoughts + holding oneself accountablefor the thoughts (her pacifist run / redemption & banishing herself from the main UT Timeline/AU).

Finding a light in the terribly dark world that one clings to as a reason to keep going and try to get better (for Kate the ErrorInk + Comos family, for me my online friends).
