Should I really tell you who won? I think you can guess it, but okay for everyone who isn't knowing it: The winner of the british grand prix is Max Verstappen!
But from the beginning. Verstappen got wheelspin on the start and lost the lead to Lando Norris and almost Oscar Piastri would've been through also. So Lando Norris was first after the first corner and was able to hold the lead for a few laps, but Verstappen claimed the lead and overtook Lando after some laps. But both McLaren were keeping up with Max and followed him within 1.5 seconds for the first half of the first stint. After 9 laps Esteban Ocon had to retire his car in the pits and was the first one out of the race. Hamilton battled Alonso and after some laps gained the position, his teammate George Russell was in fifth place and Carlos Sainz forgot what plan B was. In the middle of the pit window, after 31 laps Magnussen's Haas decided for a barbecue and had some flames coming out of the back of the car, so he stopped on the track and first the VSC was deployed, a lap later the real safety car. This brought Lewis Hamilton in third place, between both McLarens. The McLaren had hard tyres now while the cars around had softs.
As the Safety Car left the track, Max Verstappen was driving away in front, but Hamilton tried everything to overtake Lando Norris, but Lando was defending very strong and kept his position and three laps later he was able to create a small gap and was faster than Hamilton. A few laps later and a bit farther behind, Lance Stroll touched into the side of Pierre Gasly who had to retire his car with a suspension failure afterwards.
I have to say, McLaren was extemely strong this weekend, and if it is because of the new update, then there will be a new competitior for the podium positions over the next races.
Ferrari wasn't that strong and just claimed the two last points in this race.
