AU Mini-Series Part 1 of 3

This started as a request from @angelasscribbles for ONE scene. Three parts later... I decided to make this a follow-up and alternate ending to one of my favorite short, angsty AUs, Unblemished, because we needed more angst. All three parts will be posted today.

Series Summary: Tobias & Casey were friends turned lovers whose different dreams led them to become friends once again. Two years after their painful breakup, Casey has moved on. Tobias is in town to attend his friend and one-time love's wedding, with his new girlfriend on his arm. It's just the wedding of an old friend, or, is it?

Part 1 Summary: Tobias and Meghan leave Boston to attend Casey's wedding in Raleigh, North Carolina. It's a little getaway, a happy trip to see his two friends get hitched. But prewedding events lead to unexpected and uninvited emotions coming to the surface. Tobias gets a cold shoulder from Sienna, and their frank conversation leaves more questions than answers.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have touched down at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, where it is 80 degrees, and conditions are bright and sunny. We thank you for flying Transit Airlines and wish you the best with whatever brings you to the area.

"Sir?" A woman gently nudged Tobias's arm when he didn't reply. "Sir... I'm sorry, but I need to get...."

"Oh, of course," Tobias apologized, jumping from his seat to allow the woman through.

He was usually the first to get off a flight, but today, he found himself lost in his thoughts, and he still hadn't found his way back as he reached into the overhead compartment to grab his bag. All it took was an arm looping around his waist to snap him back into the present. The petite, red-haired beauty's smile lit up the cabin as she held him tight; she was as happy as he was pensive.

"I missed you," she beamed. "You were such a gentleman agreeing to give that mom your seat so she could sit with her child, but I have a warning for you."

"Oh yeah," he grinned. "What’s that?”

“If we’re ever on a flight longer than two hours, you’re prohibited from doing that. I need you near me... deal?”

“I’ll tell you what. If we’re ever on a flight longer than two hours, I’ll spring for first class, so it’s not an issue.”

“Hmmm, I could handle that,” Meghan smiled.

“Good,” he smiled, taking her hand. “Now, let’s get off this plane.”

He couldn’t describe his mood if he tried. Melancholy was too sad; wistful may be more fitting, though neither truly worked. He was happy, he reminded himself. More importantly, Casey was happy, too. It had been over two years since that cold Boston night when they tearfully said goodbye. Fast friends from the start, they eventually turned into much more. When different goals ended their dreams of “forever,” they were heartbroken and said goodbye, foolishly believing it was where their story ended. People don’t always see the invisible string that binds souls that are meant to be connected, and when Casey’s phone rang three months later, not answering was never a consideration. They started as friends, and perhaps that’s where they were meant to be. That’s what they were now. Friends. Good friends.

“Welcome to the Umstead Hotel,” an overexuberant young woman smiled. “What name is your reservation under?”

“Uh... Carrick. Dr. Tobias Carrick.”

“I have you right here! You’re in town for the MacTavish-Duncan wedding?”

“That’s right,” he nodded.

“Wonderful! The couple is hosting a cocktail reception for their out-of-town guests in the lounge at six.”

“That’s so sweet!” Meghan gushed, taking hold of Tobias’s arm. “We’re going, right?”

“Of course,” he smiled with some apprehension. “As long as I get in a nap... that early flight wiped me out more than I thought it would.”

“Fine, old man,” Meghan laughed as they entered the elevator, her head firmly on his shoulder.

He was just tired. He told himself. Besides, it was normal to feel emotional when a good friend was married. And Casey was among his best. It all made sense. Perfect sense.

The evening found him at the bar alone, anxiously twirling his old-fashioned in his hand. They had only been in their room fifteen minutes when Meghan realized she left her shoes in Boston. She was in an Uber on her way to the North Hills Mall in minutes, leaving Tobias to his nap. She promised she’d be back by six, but Tobias knew her well enough to know if shoe shopping was involved... he’d be lucky if she returned by ten.

He noticed a small group of wedding guests mingling toward the back of the lounge but didn’t recognize any faces. The normally social doctor wasn’t in the mood for small talk, so he stayed put. He didn’t want to come at all, but hurting Casey’s feelings wasn’t something he was willing to do. Now, it looked like she was a no-show for her own party, so he made a decision. He had already waited the requisite twenty minutes; he was finishing this drink and then making a beeline back to his room. But as he raised the glass to his lips, he heard her voice. It didn’t matter how much time had passed, he’d know it anywhere.

“Hello, stranger!”

They were just friends now, nothing more. So why did he feel his heart flutter? His signature smirk was firmly in place before turning to greet her. A natural defense mechanism to keep the butterflies at bay. But when his eyes fell upon her, all pretense disappeared.

How did she only become more beautiful? Etheral is how he’d describe her. Blonde hair pulled into a whispy updo, with delicate off-white flowers pinned to hold it in place. Her matching silk dress gracefully skimmed over every curve that he knew so well, and her smile. That smile had melted his heart and pulled him out of more bad days than he dared to count. And after all the years he’d known her, after all they had been through, it still rendered him speechless. Noticing his silence was lasting too long, he jumped from his bar stool to embrace her. A brilliant grin hid the war of emotions battling inside him.

“Stranger indeed! I haven’t heard from you in a while, kid. I was beginning to think you rescinded my invitation.”

“As if!” Casey laughed. “It hasn’t been that long. You try managing a busy career, a publishing deadline, and planning a wedding for two hundred of your nearest and dearest. See how much time you’d have to chat.”

“Casey... do you ever see me in that position?” He asked wryly.

He swore he saw her smile falter, and a bit of her effervescence was gone. But why would it be? She was happy. It must have been one old-fashioned too many.

“No,” she spoke softly. “I guess I don’t.”

“You look stunning,” he smiled. “How do you plan to outdo this on your big day?”

“Stop,” she said with a playful slap on his arm. “I’m immune to your flattery by now, don’t you know?”

They both laughed nervously as his eyes roamed the room. Still, no sight of Meghan, and someone else was missing, too.

“Where’s Craig? I haven’t heard from him either. I was going to see if we could shoot some hoops before the wedding.”

“He got called into an emergency surgery,” she shrugged. “The glamourous life of doctors. And where is Mandy? You said you were bringing a plus one. I assumed she’d be joining you.”

“Mandy? It’s Meghan,” he chuckled. “Mandy and I broke up some time ago.”

“Oh, sorry. It’s hard to keep up with you. So, where is your latest and greatest?”

“She had to run to the mall for a few things. But she’ll be back soon.”

“Good,” Casey smiled politely. “I can’t wait to meet her. How long have you two...” She raised her hands, visibly checking herself. Her cheeks red with embarrassment. “I’m sorry, that’s none of my business...”

“It’s OK,” Tobias laughed, reassuringly touching her elbow, then dropping it when the gesture took both by surprise. “It’s not a state secret. Only a few months... don’t worry... we’re not headed down the alter anytime soon.”

Casey let out a wry laugh, and her words came out more curtly than intended. “I didn’t expect you would be.”

“Yeah,” Tobias muttered, gulping down the remains of his drink. “Walking down aisles isn’t exactly my thing. Is it?”

“Well, it was your excuse for ending things with me,” she replied with her arms crossed. “But you never know. Sometimes people change.”

Casey felt her stomach drop. What if he had changed? Accepting that Tobias was generally opposed to marriage was one thing, but if he ever took that step, she’d have to admit that marriage wasn’t the issue... she was, and that was too painful to imagine. She began to perspire, and was filled with worry. This wasn’t the reaction she should be having when her wedding was just over a day away. Her eyes darted around the room, desperate for a reason to escape.

“Well, I should mingle with the other guest,” she settled on. “Without Craig here, it’s double duty for me. But you and Meghan will be at brunch tomorrow morning, right?”

He hadn’t been aware there was a brunch. And since laying eyes on Casey, attending more wedding events was the last thing he wanted to do, but he detected the hint of pleading in her voice.

“Do you want me there?” he asked softly.

Casey nodded effusively. “I do.”

“Then I’ll be there,” he assured. “We both will.”

Brunch was... awkward. Tobias was sure Casey thought seating them together was a good idea, but she probably didn’t know how long Sienna Trinh could hold a grudge. And with Sienna’s plus one coming down with the flu, Tobias, Meghan, and Sienna made for an awkward trio.

Casey viewed their breakup as mutual, but Siennna saw things differently. Tobias was a stupid man who let his commitment issues ruin a wonderful thing, leaving her friend heartbroken. He hoped more than two years passing and Casey marrying someone else would have changed Sienna’s opinion of him, but all indications said otherwise. Sienna picked at her stack of blueberry pancakes as they all struggled to make small talk. Perhaps they could talk shop?

“So, Meghan, you’re at Edenbrook, too? What department do you work in?”

“I’m a paralegal. I work with the CEO.”

“Oh,” Sienna smiled politely, that didn’t work. After more uncomfortable silence, Meghan made the next attempt.

“I’m really looking forward to the wedding. The venue they selected is just beautiful! I’ve seen it on some wedding shows but never thought I’d get to attend a wedding there.”

Sienna held back a laugh. “I can understand that. I mean... because we live in Boston, and you know... you’re with Tobias.”

Losing patience, Tobias tossed his linen napkin on the table. “And what’s that supposed to mean, Si?”

“Just that you avoid weddings like the plague. I was shocked to hear you were coming.”

“It’s Casey’s wedding,” he smiled tersely. “Do you think I’d miss it?”

“I guess the answer’s no,” Sienna smiled smugly.

“You know, I’m going to run to the ladies' room,” Meghan announced.

Sienna wiped her lip, “I’ll join you.”

“No,” Meghan insisted. “I need a moment away from this cold war, and if you both care about Casey as much as you profess to, maybe you should work out whatever... this... is before her wedding day. Now, if you’ll excuse me.”

Tobias and Sienna sat slack-jawed momentarily, then a slight smile formed on his lips.

“I guess I deserved that,” Sienna stated. “Meghan seems lovely, and no matter my feelings toward you, I shouldn’t have made her uncomfortable. I owe her an apology.”

“Maybe what we owe her is doing what she asked us to do,” he replied. “Sienna... what exactly is your problem with me? I know people can be bitter about their best friend’s exes, but Casey and I are good friends. If we put the past in the past, why can’t you?”

Sienna shut her eyes, warring over how much she should or should not say.

“It’s different,” she started cautiously. “I got to see the extent of the damage after the two of you fell apart. Whose apartment do you think she ended up at that last night in Boston? Who do you think she sat on the phone listening to her cry all night after she moved? I know you were hurting after things ended, but I experienced her pain. You were spared that.”

“Sienna, breakups are painful. You know that! And no, I didn’t see her immediate aftermath because we felt not contacting each other for a while would be for the best. But I was living through my own personal hell. It was hard on both of us.”

“Then why’d you do it? Tobias? All she wanted was a future with you... You’re the one who said it wasn’t possible!”

“We wanted different futures. Hers included a wedding... just like this one... a house in the suburbs, two kids, and a dog. I never wanted that and didn’t want to promise her something I couldn’t guarantee. Don’t you think I had wished I could? I could put you on the phone with my best friend. Kerry would tell you how wrong it was for Casey to want that life more than she wanted me... but you’re both wrong. We made a choice together, and it was painful as fuck. But, Si, it wasn’t my fault.”

“I guess,” Sienna sighed. “It’s just hard to see you both throw something so special, so rare away. It’s two years later and still hard to see.”

“I understand, but... Casey was dating Craig six months later, and she’s marrying him tomorrow. She and I are friends, hell, Craig and I are friends... so why are we even discussing this?”

“Because I’m her best friend... and I know how someone should be acting before they get married... and I still don’t see that in Casey.”

“What... what are you talking about....”

“She’s happy, sure... to a degree... but I’ve seen her when she was truly happy, and this seems like a facsimile.”

“Sienna,” he stalled, “She’s busy planning this weekend and under a lot of stress, but I’ve been around them. She loves Craig.”

“I know she does,” Sienna replied. “But she was in love with you.”

Tobias sat in stunned silence when he noticed Craig mingling with guests across the way. Looking for any excuse to evade the topic, he spat, “There’s Craig, uh... I’ve been looking for him... wanted to see him before the wedding, but he seems a little evasive...”

“Of course he has. Don’t you realize? Tobias, you’re the one who got away. You’re her best friend... other than me... that is. Do you think he needs a reminder before he says his I dos?”

“I... I thought coming here was the right thing to do... I just wanted to... to be here for them... and to see...”

“To see what?”

“To see she really moved on. To really... let her go.”

“Right,” Sienna smiled. “But you’re over her. I’m glad we talked, T. I think my bitterness toward you is just my overprotectiveness of Casey. I love her. But I can be a bit of a momma bear.”

“No shit!” he said with a half-smile as Sienna narrowed her eyes at him.

“I’m trying to make amends. Shut up before I change my mind. Truce?”

“Of course. How could I be mad at you for being protective of Casey.”

“I know,” Sienna smiled, pushing away from the table. “Do me a favor. Just lay low until the wedding. Be there to support her, then go live your life and let Casey move on with hers. We have to trust that she made this decision knowing what’s right for her, and... we should both respect that.”

“I never intended to do anything but.”

“Good.” Sienna looked up and saw Meghan approaching the table. “I owe you an apology and want to thank you. This talk was overdue, and I promise. We’ll be grown-ups from now on.”

“Hey, I was being a grown-up,” Tobias protested.

“Tobias, is this the hill you want to die on?” Sienna snapped back.

“Continue...” he grinned.

Sienna extended her hand. “It was very nice meeting you.”

“It’s lovely meeting you, too,” Meghan agreed. “Maybe we can get coffee back in Boston?”

“Sure, I’d like that. Tobias, I like her... be good to her.”

Tobias slipped his hand into Meghans and smiled. “That’s my intention. Thanks, Sienna.”

After Sienna walked away, Tobias turned to Meghan and thanked her for forcing them to talk. “You’re pretty special, you know. that?”

“I do,” she smiled sweetly. “But let's go back to our room because now it’s our turn to talk.”

"About?"

"About why we're at this wedding..."

"Meg," Tobias sighed. "We're here to see my friend... my friends... get married. Nothing more."

"Good, then it won't be an issue to have a quick talk about it...right?"

He let out a soft sigh. It was the last thing he wanted, but he knew better than to think Meghan would let it go.

"Right," he stood up, extending his hand to her. "Lead the way."

Overthinking

Summary: Raleigh gets his sister's unsolicited opinion regarding his love life

A/N: Omg another draft I'm on a roll imao, hope you like it! Also, just to clarify, Aaliyah and Raleigh are actually half-siblings. It's not super relevant to this fic but I thought I would point it out

"Does it always take you this long to send a text message, Ral?"

Raleigh practically jumped at her sister's sudden appearance behind him. "What the hell, Liya?!" She chuckled and handed him a glass of apple cider.

"As someone who works for the FBI," Raleigh rolled his eyes before Aaliyah could finish her sentence, which earned him a slap on the shoulder. "AHEM! Roll your eyes at me again and see what happens."

"Cute, is that what all FBI agents say? Or is it just insufferable sisters who never shut up about being an agent," he said, casually shielding the screen from her.

"I was actually going to say you're horrible at being sneaky. Like anyone could see you nervously attempting to text her from a mile away. You usually only take a few seconds to reply to texts."

"Okay, Genius," He mumbled, knowing it wasn't a great insult if it was technically true.

Raleigh sighed and invited her to sit next to him. She settled herself onto the couch and rested her head on her palm. "Why are you so jumpy? Are you asking her out on a first date or something?"

"I wouldn't say first date..."

Aaliyah gasps dramatically. "Raleigh Bartholomew Carrera!"

"How are your fake middle names only getting worse-"

"You're falling in love with your fake girlfriend!" she says uncharacteristically excitedly. She clapped her hands like an eager child who was given candy. "What's her name again?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" he asks sarcastically.

"...Yes Ral, that's why I'm asking," Aaliyah sighed, her eyebrows furrowed as she thinks. "Wait! It's the One in a Million winner...something Katz? She was incredible."

Destiny.

"Shocking. You guessed who it was by using the internet," he scoffed.

"Destiny!" she called out, ignoring his tone. "Maybe it was fate you were both meant to be in love." She gently elbowed him. Raleigh didn't like getting his hopes up, but the fact that his own sister was being so optimistic about his relationship which she never was had to mean something, right?

"We have to go on another fake date before some award show and I remembered she said she's always wanted to go to an opera."

Aaliyah groaned. "Then take her to the opera, Ral! You don't need to overthink that part of the date right now. You already know her and what she likes and from the way you describe her, I'm 100% sure she likes you back. Now focus on being a good guy. I could see the headlines now: Raleigh Carrera's New Relationship Shows Operatunity."

"Since when do you care about my public image?"

"I don't. I care about your publisher not dying of stress," she comments, casually stealing the phone from him. "You know what? I'm going to handle this, just stay back until I get your final text approval."

"Whatever." Aaliyah smiles and furiously texts away at what she considers a perfect response. Raleigh leans back and sips the cold apple cider and suppresses a laugh. It's been a while since he's last cared this much about impressing a fake girlfriend. Or making sure they eventually end things on a good note.

Hopefully, he doesn't mess it up.

A/N: And the two meet Ethan and my MC at the opera. End of story

THIS. I just love this one so much because they're like my favourite characters/ favourite trio from my favourite book in the Playchoices universe, because that's a full body piece which is hard. They're the best<3

And the Cas x MC one! obsessed with this actually, because their outfits here is kinda very hard and I'm glad It looks exactly how I want it to look like. I'm not into how I draw their hairs anymore but I discovered something about drawing hairs here so yeahh.

Also, the piece I'm currently working on is one of my favourite! posting it in a few days maybe? lol

The Blaine Hayes art piece is where I experimented lighting. And It looks fine ig? I like it, I tried to make the light a neon light cuz neon looks cool!

And ofc, the Six Fanarts Challenge! you can clearly see the differences of how I draw their faces, Mal is the first one and Lawrence is the last. I think we can see more expression in Lawrence's face than Mal's, the lips, and the eyes. You can also see the differences in their outfits especially the F!Cas's one and Murphy's. F!Cas's fit, I made it more basic and changed the design of her top (cuz I was lazy💀✋) and It looks weird lol. And Murphy's fit, I completed it, the chains and the belts (guess I'm not that lazy here) same in Lawrence's! and how I coloured it looks different than the first ones too. Funny how a style can change in a few days XD

I'm gonna choose the Playchoices fam because it's the main theme of my blog. So, the first fanart I posted here is actually the Trystan x MC x Alice lol because I always doubt that I can draw digitally. I know digital art a longgg time ago but I'm just always not in the mood to try and learn the tools and this and that because they're a LOT, I was like, why can't there be a pen that draws exactly what's on my mind🙄 But I'm glad I pushed and teach myself instead of a pencil and a piece of paper that hurt my damn hands (but thanks to them I learned how to draw in the first place) but digital is where I improved.

That's not even the first ever fanart I made for the fandom! I just didn't posted it lol so I'll just put it right here ig?

Yeah that's Raleigh Carerra from Platinum and he doesn't have a face because I don't know how to draw a face then💀 I don't even know how to blend colours so yeahh.

This fanfic was requested by @kennaxval for the @choicesnovemberchallenge hosted by the one and only @ramseyandrys . As you maybe know I’m struggling a little bit with my writing now but I was so happy to receive this request and write a F!Raleigh x MC fanfic: I only hope I made one of my fave Choices pairing justice.

I decided to go back to the start when we all felt the angst of the fake romance with feelings attached before the beautiful happy ending the two of them deserved. The prompt was “Kiss” and we all know what a good kisser Raleigh Carrera is so...fasten your seatbelts, lovelies!

"God, I bet Raleigh Carrera is the best kisser like EVER"

The casual comment a former coworker at the smoothie bar dropped once scrolling her social media. Apparently, the picture of a steamy between the R&B star and her latest date triggered that random thought that -now Rachel knew firsthand- was, in fact, a prophecy.

Raleigh was the best kisser ever indeed. Her kisses never failed to leave Rachel craving for more. Out of breath, disheveled and unwillingly to part from that cheeky Puertorican goddesses. 'Cause being her arms truly felt like being in the company of a deity, Venus herself if it made sense. Raleigh had a way to caress her, her hands roaming over arms then further up her back before reaching her neck that sent bursts of electricity underneath her skin, through her veins the left her dizzy and burning with anticipation. The feeling only intensified when their lips touched and Raleigh oh so impossibly soft lips claimed Rachel's in a wild fierce kiss that tasted like Heaven.

Every kiss and every moment spent by Raleigh's side was a little glimpse of Heaven. Whenever the Puertorican star reached for her hand and intertwined their fingers together, whenever she cracked a witty joke to tease her, whenever she flashed her one of her signature smirks, a newfound sense of happiness took hold of Rachel. Whenever she leaned closer and whispered something into her ear so that only she could hear, whenever Raleigh's gaze fell on her and she noticed gleaming a bit brighter, Rachel's heart skipped a beat and she felt like an awkward teen in front of her crush again. Not that she missed that feeling considering how her highschool crush broke her heart choosing the dashing quarterback over her for the prom. But she could totally feel the same warmth flushing her cheeks red and the butterflies in her stomach around the R&B star. What an irony that she found herself slowly but inexorably falling for someone who wasn't even her celebrity crush, Avery Wilshere. She immediately clicked with Avery and her innate kindness and sweetness but -it was crystal clear to her now- it wasn't the singer who had been a recurrent teenage dream not to mention an obsession for years to light sparks with her. For some reason -but do love truly require reasons?-, the singer she had almost snubbed, all taken by her all-time idol, caught her attention and curiosity and was now threatening to steal her heart.

Rachel couldn't tell if she had fully recovered from her disastrous breakup with the liar of one of her latest hits, the one who cheated on her and made her feel small, weak, unimportant...but everything came naturally with Raleigh. They had chemistry, that kind of chemistry even many long-time couples lacked and "The Troublemaker" always knew the right thing to say, even though it fell out of the duties of their staged romance...or so it seemed to Rachel. Or so Rachel found herself hoping with every fiber of her being. She could have sworn that Raleigh's face brightened a little bit whenever she saw her, a light that wasn't there before. And whenever Raleigh searched her lips once more, pinning her to the ground and moving her jaw, her neck, her shoulders, Rachel lost herself in the moment and forgot about the cameras, as Raleigh's lips guided her down a sweet path of ecstasy.

Then the click of a camera. The spark of a flash at the corner of her eyes...and reality hit her.

All this was fake, staged, "made for the camera". To make fans absentmindedly comment on what a great kisser Raleigh Carrera must be and how steamy the winner of One In A Million and the hot "bad girl" were kissing in the street or making out in the park.

That was what it was all about. Gossip. Magazine covers. Career boosts. Social media trends.

Not love, feelings, affection.

Fake dates, fake romance.

Rachel tried to repeat herself a thousand times that refrain, to adjust with the hard truth that there were little chances that Raleigh, the Raleigh Carrera could truly reciprocate the feelings of the naive newcomer. "Maybe if it was a sappy rom-com", she said to herself once but the thought, supposed to amuse her, failed to draw a smile on her face. Instead, her mouth twisted in a grimace. The more she got closer to the Puertorican star, the more time they spent together going on "dates", she found herself wanting for more. Just like when Raleigh parted from her to catch breath: "don't stop, kiss me over and over again, I don't want this to end", she would scream internally, a silent plea that would never reach her lips.

So, in the end, Raleigh would just flash her another smile and walk away, after setting her heart on fire like a real troublemaker.

One night, as one of their dates was coming to an end too soon, Rachel summoned every ounce of courage she had and took her hand into her and guided her in a corner of the luxurious terrace away from the crowd. She perfectly knew what she wanted to say but as she met Raleigh's eyes and read a mix of concern and surprise, she fell suddenly speechless. No, she just couldn't say what she wanted to say, what her heart ached to say.

"Rachel, are you okay?"

Raleigh gently stroke her arm as if to encourage her to speak, not knowing that that little soft gesture would only make it even more difficult. Rachel just nodded, looking as less convincing as possible.

"Okay so...do you feel like sharing why you lured me in a private corner?" Raleigh asked, smirking.

No, not that smirk, not now...I'm trying to tell you-

"Oh I see, you couldn't resist the urge to get me all for yourself for-"

Before she can finish the sentence, Rachel interrupted her. "It's now or never".

"Kiss me"

It came out wrong but maybe there was still a way to make it work in the right way.

Raleigh looked surprised for a moment before raising an eyebrow at her.

"Someone's greedy, huh?"

”No, I- not like that" Rachel frowned and diverted her eyes.

"You know, I can offer a kiss for free to a nice girl even if the paps are not around" Raleigh said, but there was still a hint of teasing in her voice mixed with the alcoholic bitterness of tequila.

True, Raleigh kissed her away from the cameras a few times and it never seemed to bother her. On the contrary, she seemed to enjoy it, even looking forward to it. That what lead Rachel to think that maybe just maybe there was a chance that she wasn't the only one wanting more than a fake romance. But now she wasn't sure Raleigh fully understood what she truly meant.

"Even a...real kiss?"

Raleigh opened her mouth to say something but nothing came. Instead, her face fell and she froze for a moment. Then she winced and gently caressed Rachel's cheek. The sudden tenderness caught her by surprise but she could also tell it would only bring bad news.

"Didn't I warn you not to catch feelings, nena?"

Raleigh's voice was unusually sweet and sad matching the look in her eyes. She sighed deeply before adding, her voice almost a whisper:

"You know that I am no good, Rachel. I would only break your heart"

WIth that final grim statement -and much internal struggle- she leaned closer to press a kiss on her forehead and walked away. Rachel followed her silhouette disappear into the crowd of the loud party on the other side of the glass. As a gust of chilly night wind blew through her hair, Raleigh was gone and other attendants joined her on the balcony for a smoke and a moment of quiet.

From the inside, John Legend's voice filled the silence.

"And don't say goodbye tonight Save that kiss for the mornin' light Till the sun comes up, we'll be lost in us Don't say goodbye The night was made for love, love"

They resonated inside Rachel, forcing her to turn away and lean over the railing for support. Her eyes wandered into the distance as they welled with tears.

Don't say goodbye, Raleigh. Please come back and kiss me again. Kiss me like lovers do. Like real lovers do.

Four Drinks | F!Raleigh x MC (Talia Lewis)

A/N: This fic just kinda… happened. Sorry if there are any grammatical errors, this was written in a very short period of time and English is not my first language.

It was long over.

Raleigh was inside a bar, three empty shots of tequila in front of her, and one in her hand. Her surroundings began spinning, the ground beneath her was not enough to keep her steady.

It was already a month since they broke up.

Their relationship was supposed to fake. Then fake feelings turned out to be true. She was afraid at first, afraid that she was already catching feelings as how Talia phrased it. Raleigh had the reputation of a heart breaker and a player, but when it came to Talia, it was different. It was like she set her aflame every time their eyes meet, like her heart would burst out every time they touch. It wasn’t anything like what she had before. Her relationship with Talia was entirely a new feeling for her. That was why she was afraid. She was afraid that she would only break Talia’s heart.

And she did.

The first months of their real relationship was easy for the both of them. They were fake dating before, the only thing that changed was they were not pretending anymore. As time pass by, their relationship went through rough patches, as all couples did. They fought, but they always resolved it before the dawn comes. But as time continues to fly, things started to change. Before, they had the time for each other, but now, they’re barely together anymore, with Raleigh working on her new album and Talia who just finished her tour. And when they would fight, unlike before, Talia would walk out and she wouldn’t return until tomorrow. They would fight, she’d walk out, and again and again.

They’ve changed.

But what happened last month was different. Raleigh was coming home from recording for her new album. She was tired and all she wanted to do was sleep. Talia sensed it and wrapped her arms around Raleigh to ease some of the tension, but she wasn’t in the mood for anything. That was when she snapped at her.

“Jesus Christ! Stop being so clingy and let me sleep” Raleigh said as she pushed her away.

“The hell is wrong with you?” Talia asked, outraged by Raleigh’s sudden lashing out.

“I told you, I’m tired. Now, won’t you shut up so I can rest now?”

She saw a tear falling down Talia’s cheek, before her face harden with resolve.

“Fine. I’m fucking tired too.”

Talia got up stood up from the bed and walked out.

This time, she never came home.

Raleigh tried calling her but she wouldn’t answer. She tried going to her house to apologize but she would not open the door. The next time they met was a week after. Talia was the front of her door. At first, Raleigh thought that she was just drunk, that she was just imagining seeing her.

“Raleigh.”

“Talia!” her voice was slurred from the alcohol. “Where have you been? I thought that you’re not coming home anymore”

She noticed how Talia looked away from her. “No, I’m not. I… I’m just getting my stuff”

“What?”

Talia blinked back her tears. “I can’t do this anymore, Raleigh. All we do is fight, again and again. I...I think it’s best for the both of us if we break up”

“I…” Raleigh was stunned. She cannot move or speak, or even form a coherent thought.

“I’m going to pack my stuff now, if you don’t mind”

It was already a month since she fucked up. Funny how her wounds feel like it was still bleeding. Funny how she, the heart breaker got her own heart broken. Now, she was celebrating the success of the release of her new album (one of the things which got in the way of their relationship) getting wasted, when she had nothing else to do, and no one else to celebrate with.

She downed her fourth shot of tequila.

Then, she saw a very familiar figure with a straw-blonde hair. But maybe it was just the alcohol. She had four drinks and she was wasted. But maybe four drinks would be enough to see her again, to taste her lips against her very own. Maybe it would be enough to feel her own body pressed against hers.

Maybe four drinks would be enough to be hers again, even if it was just all in her head.
