R.I.P. lksjflksdjfsdf i need to remember that if i'm not prepared to be called out ab sth to not put it in tags. well. it's fine. i will answer so that no one out there thinks i'm heartless or something. there is one (1) human being on this planet that i Want to hold hands with and that is my wife, and even then, very often we will just link pinkies instead. i think holding hands is adorable n sweet and i have nothing against it as a concept! to get v personal i have really poor circulation in my extremities, so my hands will often either be cold, clammy, or uncomfortably warm, ergo unpleasant to hold :( i'm really self-conches about it i cannot believe i'm even talking about it it is my least favorite thing about my physical self and though i know that my wife loves me enough to hold my cold/hot creature hands anyway, sometimes the sensation just isn't great for me and my brain revolts. so linked pinkies is our workaround solution :')

ngl my whole take on will's bday thing now is that they're not gonna edit it to May for the whole wait up to S5. but!! when S5 drops... they'll change the dates in S4 lmao like move them either a week or two after.

i think it's just super likely that it's misdirection or sth. make people think the duffers don't care about will ergo they don't care about making him happy in S5 (i.e. making byler canon). people do keep bringing it up, right? like why would they do this or that or be fussy about this detail when tHeY fOrGoT aBoUt HiS bDaY (man typing that was hard).

the other reason is maybe time/memory shenanigans. but that's a little bit harder to pull off i think? even with the whole clock theme in S4. a while back i theorized it may be possible that henry is making everyone forget about will's bday like how henry made will forget about everyone -- well, mostly everyone -- in S2. what for? beats me. but like, imagine feeling like something important is supposed to be happening today but you can't figure out what or why. so there's like this invisible tension tying you up. you can't figure out the reason but it's making you go insane, maybe literally. like this date is supposed to be important but WHY.

anyway, of the two, the first is more likely to me lmao. easier to do anyhow.

BERGO FISH! Updated his uniform. 

he runs on water! as in, he's got water coursing through him and it powers him. Ergo's purpose is Empire Management, and his goals are solely that the Empire is run efficiently. Eggman created him to do this. He’s not strong at all, though his weapon of choice is a fencing epee. Ergo is also a very fast swimmer but he’s abysmally slow on land. He would have done a lot of the maintenance in Aquarium Park had he been around but...

Eventually Eggman lost focus and couldn't handle Ergo's critiques of him and how he was running the Empire, so he shut him away in the basement of the base, and turned him into a super computer/server.

He was brought back online because the Empire sorely needs management, and the blunderbots aren't cut out for the job. Unlike Orbadillo and Cubrador, Ergo's body isn't a roboticized Mobian. It's purely machine, built from the ground up.

He'd have more in common with Belle and Metal than he would Orbot and Cubot.

Orbot and Cubot AUs? 👀 I'd love to hear some, please! 👉👈

Okay I'm gonna make a list of the ones I have some decent amount of stuff for but fair warning I do a LOT of angst so there's a lot of sad stuff. Everything's TW'd, you (or anyone else) can pick one for me to ramble about first if you want:

Soldierbot AU - AU where shapebots are weaponized and mass-produced like more intelligent Badniks. This particular AU focuses on a team of soldierbots that don't follow the social rules that have been imposed on the soldiers, which makes those in charge of them view them as a threat. My first Orbot and Cubot AU, also has a few shapebot OCs. TWs for abuse, minor character death, possible references to torture.

Stranded AU - This is less of a solid AU and more a collection of oneshot ideas based around the same scenario. Basically, Orbot and Cubot come online one day to find they've been left in the middle of nowhere, and are trying to get back to Eggman on their own before they run out of battery. No TWs apply.

Ask Cueball - I can't really ramble much about this one yet because I worry if I do I won't finish the actual comic, but anyone who hasn't read it yet can check it out at @ask-cueball.

Axleverse - It's several years after canon and Orbot and Cubot have accidentally made a son, Axle. Axle is a mix between Orbot, Cubot, and a little bit of Egg Pawn (and the fighter code in him from the Egg Pawn can cause problems sometimes). This one's mostly family shenanigans, but there is a bit of angst along with Eggman's harsh disapproval for Axle's existence. This AU has multiple spinoffs with varying types of content, but in the main Axleverse, no TWs apply.

Botfight AU - This one started as an Orbot and Cubot AU but has since extended to the whole cast. Heavily inspired by the show BattleBots. For the part involving the shapes though, basically botfighting is the most popular sport in the world, and Eggman is a legendary botfighting captain, his champion bot is Metal Sonic. He bought Orbot and Cubot off some other inventor and has modified them against his will into fighting robots and has them "train" for the big leagues in illegal botfighting rings. This is a more recent one that I've been fixating on a bit lately. TWs for abuse, heavy injury (not gore), minor/background character death.

KyOri (Human) AU - AU where Orbot and Cubot are humans (or human-passing androids, no one really knows except Eggman) named Ori and Kyu. Erin (Ergo, the Sonic Unleashed Orbot) is also human. The rest of the cast are still their canon species. TWs for abuse, heavy injury (not gore), starvation/ED, gaslighting/manipulation.

His Faulty A.I. AU - Loosely based on KyOri AU, Kyu (Cubot) is a young computer scientist that created O.R.I. (Orbot), an AI with sentience and personality. This one's basically a slowburn "robot that falls in love with its creator" story, because I'm a sucker for that trope. No TWs apply.

Those are all the ones I have a lot of ideas for, I have a few more (Transformers AU, SA2 AU, Bugsnax AU, probably a couple more I'm forgetting) but they aren't nearly as expanded on, some of them have nothing more than drawings.
