The gods are like the world leaders ig. Like they're scientist. Polyphemus is Poseidon's son so Poseidon would be his builder, like he'd be a giant machine instead of a cyclop

And the crew would be like. A rebellion against them gods/higher scientist. And they HAVE to go against their wishes because they have their children and wives at home and they have to go back but there's like robots surrounding their city? Kingdom? (Ithaca was it?) so they have to like go against the gods to go home and

And Athena is like trying to help them but she's also one of them so she wants to use some more harsh methods and the warrior of the mind thing is like Odysseus has like a chip in his brain so he's the only one who can talk with Athena and she shows up like a hologram to him in his brain and in the My Goodbye song he like takes it off bc it's not directly in his brain is like in his head like the place where Xavier puts his fingers when using his powers so the chip is like there and camouflaged in his skin and in My Goodbye he takes it and breaks it on the floor and

And Circe is like more of a biochemistry gal so she does experiments with the guys and

let me preface by saying when i say dance number, it does not mean these should be the only moment where there is dancing since background characters and chorus can dance and have their own separate choreo from the main cast

1 - Horse and the Infant

this, to me is self-explanatory. it’s a battle scene and what better way to show a battle onstage than with dancing!

“but fluffy!” one might argue, “dancing and battles are very different mediums and convey separate tones!”

well, i would respond, dancing and battle are different, yes, but what is something that a battle still needs? choreography
