It’s funny that you’ve been getting asks about Jay’s loyalty to Voight (I feel like everyone here in on the same page lol) as in my drafts, I have a WIP where Hailey calls Jay out and refers to herself as Jay’s ‘side partner’ like ‘side chick’ at work and Voight is his real one, to get Jay to try and realise what his loyalty looks like.
In the story, he does more in favour of Voight which further justifies a comparison like that e.g. stopping at work longer than necessary to keep Voight company even though Hailey is waiting at home.
I think in 9x22, Jay telling Hailey that Anna killed ‘on our time, cause of us.’ & Jay trying to send Hailey off with Kim, Kev and Adam was actually kind of unlike Jay to me (his head didn’t turn when Kim called out her name and he was like 1.5 metres away so he deffo heard) so it just put me in Hailey’s head and if my man and partner of 5 years was keeping me in the dark about something that didn’t personally involve him or KEEPING ME FROM DOING MY JOB, I’d be feeling pretty crappy and frustrated so that’s why I had to have Hailey calling him out in the story.
Well done to canon Hailey for trying to keep her husband and partner’s head on straight with the ‘we can’t do this again, you and me. You can’t save him from himself.’ She’s experienced the aftermath of getting involved with Voight’s wildly unethical/illegal plans, it nearly ruined her and affected her relationship (the most important relationship she’s had (1st real deal relationship)) and she doesn’t want the same for Jay.
My hope for season 10 is that Jay can’t get out from Voight’s spell. The time in 9A where Jay was hostile towards Voight was amazinggg! And honestly, I hope Jay and Hailey can have more fun as partners as I feel like their ‘partner-partner’ scenes were a LOT more enjoyable pre-marriage. Maybe we can get that Jay and Hailey back for s10?
Sorry for long post. Just wanted to get my thoughts out in one go rather than multiple asks especially as I’m choosing to remain anon
Jay’s pov towards Voight in the finale confused me too. How do you go from “I don’t trust you” to helping him try to cover up another murder so quickly and easily - even after their deal. At the same time, I thought back on the Marcus/Angela situation in s7 and I know part of them letting her off was because they didn’t want the truth to come out about Jay, but I think he would’ve let her off regardless of that. I reached a point where I realized it has less to do with looking out for Voight and more to do with looking out for Anna. Regardless, I still think it would’ve been more in character for him to find another way out instead of just letting Voight do his thing. He found a way of doing the right and the wrong thing in 8x06, why didn’t he press further to do that in this ep.
I agree, we need more eps of jay and Hailey being individuals outside of Voight and his hold (kinda like 9x13/9x18). Hopefully s10 will give us a step back from this Voight drama. And no need to apologize for the long ask!

After their trip to Russia next Tuesday, the following week's episode will feature one very big returning face as former series regular Paul Blackthorne reprises his roles as Captain Quentin Lance and it looks like his timing couldn't have been any better as he partners up with the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and the Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) to stop a new threat to Star City.
Meanwhile, it also looks like Oliver and Team Arrow will finally be learning about Harbinger's (Audrey Marie Anderson) secret alliance with The Monitor (LaMonica Garrett), which should make for one extremely interesting Thanksgiving dinner in the Arrowcave

Hey crazy idea, but how bout we all just NOT watch the final ep of GOT and boycott it instead?
Think about it: the more people watch it, the more money D&D make. They probably don’t care about the criticisms we’ve been throwing their way, they only care about how much money they’ll get anyways at the end of this. If we all just didn’t watch it, it would definitely send those assholes a message.
Just a thought tho.
