This is another post asking for help, as the latest has petered out. I have resigned myself that due to my severe OCD, and to the continuous and violent trauma I experience because of the way my parents assault me with emotional abuse every day, I'll be very much dependent on financial help for the next few months.

I need food on the daily, I still need clothing and that's a need that hasn't been fulfilled at all, I need to be able to buy essentials when they run out, I need storage products, and I need at least two of everything because of my OCD and my fear of (spiritual) contamination. I also need transportation money.

Please bear with me as I've never had to make a post like this before.

My best friend is in need of serious financial aid in regards to her gorgeous kitty, Sasha. The whole story can be found on the GoFundMe, but I'll give you a short summary:

Upon a visit to the vet to get what they thought was an injury looked at, they were told it was actually bone cancer. Injuries can sometimes "aggravate" cancers like this, but at the same time, it might be the reason why they caught it when they did, as she wasn't showing any symptoms before this injury.

Due to the insane medical prices in the US, this really is a case of if they can't get the amputation paid for, then they will have to strongly consider putting Sasha down which is devastating in itself but especially when they've had her since she was a kitten & she's 14 now! Funds will either go towards getting the amputation sorted as well as all the aftercare for that, or just to keep her as comfortable as possible for her final weeks with us. It's really sad that any life on Earth can be cut short all because of lack of funds.

Of course, if you're reading this and have no means to help financially then that's okay! But please consider reblogging & sharing around so hopefully we can find some people who are willing/able to help with this.

I'm aware there are A LOT of fake posts for GoFundMe's, especially regarding cats and animals. I'm sure once my friend has printed medical bills she'll be happy to post them on the GoFundMe page as well. But again, I understand the weariness regarding these posts so I totally understand if people aren't comfortable donating, but at this point, she has no choice but to ask for help with this, so please consider reblogging at least!

PSA: What not to do if you see a disabled person on the ground…

Yesterday I had a really bad medical episode in a grocery store that put me on the ground for half an hour. Because of the complexities of my disability, a lot of the typical things that would help someone don’t work for me.

There was no safe alternative to being on the ground in that moment. I made sure I was in a clean, safe area and that I was out of the way as much as possible. This was the first time I had to do this in public. I knew this could eventually happen and I fully expected people to approach me. Most people recognized that my service dog & I were in control of the situation and they left me alone. A few people came to check on me and offered assistance if I needed it but this one woman would not take no for an answer.

The gesture was kind. The execution was not. I told her I have a cardiac condition. That this wasn’t an emergency and it happens all the time. That the only thing that helps is to lay down and that I would be fine in a few minutes. That should have been the end of the conversation but it wasn’t.

Are you sure?

Can I help?

What’s your name?

What’s your dogs name?

Can I help you sit up?

Should I get a manager?

Do you want some water?

Do you want some lavender oil to calm down?

Should I stay?

I’m going to stay.

etc. etc. etc.

She was leaning over my service dog & I so she could hear me through my mask (she wasn’t wearing one). I was forced to sit up to answer her questions repeatedly. If I didn’t she would start to move closer and try to get even more involved. I was perfectly coherent and I was confident in handling the situation but nothing I did satisfied her. Ultimately, having to sit up and diffuse the situation made the crisis worse than it otherwise would have been and it took me longer to recover.

My body was telling me to lay down.

Be quiet. Be still.

But this one person was helping so hard that it hurt.

So here’s a PSA if you’re the type of person who wants to get involved. If a coherent person is telling you exactly how to handle their disability. LISTEN TO THEM.

EMERGENCY C0MISSI0NS OPEN! TLDR; My landlord died and left the house to his brother, after it was promised to my husband's stepfather for the past 6+ years and it was with no notice. His brother now owns the house, and has given us until May 1st to get out so he can sell it. I have severe OCD, CPSTD and ongoing trauma from living in an exhaustingly emotionally abusive household. I haven't been self sufficient in months due to the state of my mental health and continuous trauma and won't be self-sufficient in quite some time. I need money urgently for food, as I have now run out, transportation, and clothing, which is something I've been needing to acquire for weeks (knowing that because of my symptoms, I can't do second hand). In addition to my mental health issues, I also have digestive issues I have to attend to and I have toiletry I have to buy on a regular basis just to have a proper intimate life.
