Danny raises Superman au

So we all know that Superman touched down in Kansas and was adopted by the Kents and bla bla bla. But you know what state also has farms and is only like 600 miles away? Illinois.

So Danny is chilling in the countryside, enjoying his sweet, peaceful early retirement when an alien pod, that's a little a lot off course, suddenly crashes near his house. When he checks it out, there's a baby inside. Welp looks like he's a father now. No way is he risking the government getting their greedy little mits on this precious ray of sunshine.

Clark grows up with a father who teaches him early on how to control his powers and use them for good (They may or may not stop a robbery or two occasionally). He also gets two cool aunts. One is free spirited and always bringing him souvenirs from her travels. The other is very grounded and teaches him many techniques to deal with his conflicting emotions (his father is not happy when he uses said techniques on him).

Danny for his part is happy we his son develops a support system like he did. They can even actively help him beat up the villains! He's overjoyed at the man Clark becomes and even happier when he brings home an ace reporter who knows how shifty the government can be. He might be already saving up for their wedding but who can say?

Been thinking about disabilities a lot recently between my hip fuckery and seeing firsthand progressing dementia, and God nothing opens your eyes more to ableism than firsthand experiences with it. The way my grandma is getting treated like a child who can't do anything by my aunts who also constantly use nursing homes and assisted living as more of a threat (like if it werent for my uncle living with her she def should be in a nursing/assisted living situation which is not a bad thing! That's just life sometimes and she deserves to be taken care of properly!)

My other grandma has also been having memory problems and the night and day difference between the sides of family is astounding and I love them both, but it's also made it so much more irksome to see the jokes about Biden having dementia. Because of fucking course that's something to joke about, idk if it's even true but good god the way its talked about is appalling

Weavile to me always seems like a gremlin, a little 3’0 ankle biter y’know.

LURANTIS LOOKS LIKE A BEHEMOTH OF A POKÉMON (at least 5’8 in my mind for some reason) BUT ITS 2’11?? SHORTER THAN WEAVILE?

In Pokémon S&M we actually see a Lurantis next to Ash & his friends, and it’s exactly their height! Which means that the Pokédex lied OR Ash is a 2’11 10 year old kid.

Lurantis is actually taller than he is now that I’m looking closer,,

To be fair I believe that was a Totem Lurantis which I guess could explain the larger size. But even then I dunno if can we trust the anime over the game data when it comes to heights (or general knowledge sometimes) ?

Also Nidoking (another behemoth intimidating pokemon in my mind) is 4’7 (1.4m)

Wildest thing supernatural ever pulled was the “two prophets can’t exist on earth at once” thing cause it results in a malformed prophet and..something something balance of the universe..something like that..I can’t remember. a lot of s1-3 gallavich narrative moments were directly influenced by the actors' ages. i wonder how things couldve been different if they were different ages when casted? do you think the showrunners wouldve had them kiss sooner? how would their on-screen chemistry be effected if we were more of peers off-screen rather than noel fisher being a mentor for cameron monaghan? its such an interesting topic, but obviously everything happens for a reason and noel fisher at that point in his career was PERFECT for mickey

i also think some fans get too attached to on-scren portrayals of characters. like obviously mickey is a fictional character played by a much older actor, hes actually a natural strawberry blond, the markers are drawn on with literal sharpie. as audience members we are expected to suspend our disbelief and not take everything literally. mickey is mickey, not (several-times-snubbed-by-john-wells) actor noel fisher. mickey is a kid. hes a natural brunet. his tattoos are real. even though thats not reality, we are to understand that this show exists somewhere else and not here. another example is in s11 when mickey alludes to not working out despite having a body you can only get from working out 😭 idk i guess what im getting at is id love to see more portrayals that are less literal? like him with his big ass tooth gap and noodle arms. the absurd gallavich size difference. actually being able to see/read him growing up physically and mentally. same with other characters. like MY s1 ian did NOT straighten his hair so i love to imagine it much more curly and messy (i know that poor kid was not using products for his hair type). or like can you imagine fiona looking barely college-aged? how much more IMPACTFUL that is for her story of being a mother to her FIVE siblings? or putting more or less weight on characters, changing minute physical attributes because it fits the character, not the actor portraying them... like we are the creators of our own realities we can truly do whatever we want. as an underclassman early morning classes and boring classes were what i detested and feared most of all. now it’s difficult classes and evening classes. my evening class last semester actively made me want to become the joker with how disruptive it was to my schedule. i sure would have never wanted to switch into a 9am yawnnnn history lecture class but at this point that sounds like a dream compared to all the tons of active work outside of class with every single professor trying to scare us to death on the first day. i would rather wake up early every day than suffer the hell that i’m currently slated for. last semester brutalized me so badly it’s not even funny i can’t do the same workload again yet worse i need a relative mental break. i do not have that dog in me. i will be going to my advisor screaming and crying tomorrow asking her to make some changes
