i feel sad that people who go 'bernie should kill her dad!!!' ignores that she freaks out when she does actually does it, and how she rather simply spend her life away from him forever
but also i feel like people dont appreciate putting him in a situation that he put her through and turning him into being a complete wreck as edelgard shoots the ground next to his feet, making him dance for the rest of his miserable life

hehe, the AVtech!Hubert and Richboy!Ferdinand modern AU.
Ferdinand is the rich boy whose father is throwing a big ballroom party for his birthday. But Ferdinand seems to be having a suspicious amount of interest in the labour, and vice versa

@brxtalsimulation (Edelgard) || Starter Call
          Taking lives was a part of war. An unfortunate natural cause brought upon by its ugliness. Still, it didn’t make it easy. It was even more difficult when that someone on the other end was someone you loved.
          Facing his father was almost enough to make Ferdinand take a backseat on the battle. Up until the very minute it occurred his heart was thrashing against his ribs and his stomach was in knots. Was there supposed to be something cathartic about taking out the man that sought to ruin everything they were fighting so hard for? Was he supposed to see relief on everyone’s faces when the only thing he saw was their pity?
          Since the moment he had taken his father’s life he’s been unable to pry the lance from his fingers. He swallows thickly as he looks at it and casts his eyes down at the stone stairs that lead deeper into the fort. The image of his father’s face, so eerily at peace, floats back in front of his vision. He squeezes his eyes shut to rid himself of the image before opening them back up only to see–––

          “Edelgard.” Back stiff, he quickly rises from the steps and gives her a bow. “My apologies. I did not realize...Am I still needed?”

Sorry to bother you again but was there ever an explanation on why Edelgard acted like a weak teenage girl during the second part of Azure Gleam? Fear of Thales transforming her i to a monster again if she disobeyed him?
In the "recruited Byleth" side of the route, the Chasm chapter has Edelgard be normal again (the bad guy says "This darkness is a mirror for the soul" and Claude goes "Is this why Edelgard returned to normal? Some trick of the darkness?"), and so you somewhat get explanations?
Basically Thales made her his puppet. That's it. She's not being threatened or anything, they just took away her agency/memory and have her do what they want
Edelgard says her actual last memory is of Arianrhod, which Dimitri reminds us was 6 months before this chapter.

i love how ferdinand's dad and how ferdinand views him are both central topics to his supports with edelgard and hubert. i know the prominent fanon view of duke aegir is that he was abusive towards ferdinand so i'm in a ways glad that's not the case and the two of them did have a good relationship outside of the duke's corruption and crimes. i do think that duke aegir did treat ferdinand well but mostly everyone else horribly and that's what really complicates ferdinand's feelings towards his father and also his own morals. the fact that ferdinand decides to kill his father as the result of all his crimes despite his reservations in the beginning is, for me at least, the perfect resolution for their relationship

Arval cheering Shez on against Byleth is really funny when I'm controlling Sylvain and have been for the last ten minutes. Sothis is complaining as though Sylvain isn't stunlocking her into a corner with a 4500+ hit gordian strike buff. beautiful

having some more thoughts about claude's route. on the one hand, i'm glad they decided to expand a bit claude's past and how he did trust judith this time about it, and i love how his opinion on the church is so clear (and it's not as different as in the og game, claude allying w seteth meant nothing, particularly when vw is a rework of ss) AND how the alliance w the empire is mostly out of his own interest but also recognises that edelgard and him share the same goal while using different means. however, i think the plot was too straightforward and added not that much lore??? and idk, introducing shahid when you're not going to tackle almyra's issues just for. what. some development on claude's part? which could be easily achieved having him kill another character due to how much claude values life?? huhhh. count gloucester should have been the villain and that's it
