Wobbledog DST / Don't Starve Together mod idea

not actually a mod! I cannot code ;u;

but, I like to overthink things anyways.

Wandy

The Wobbledog // "Woof! Ruff!"

HEALTH: 150 // HUNGER: // 100 SANITY: 150

*- Sensitive to foodborne mutagens *- Can recycle their own death *- Only A Little Bit Wobbly

(1) Wandy gains gut flora dependent on the food value of the foods they eat. Once Wandy has a certain number of gut flora, and at least one day has passed since Wandy's last pupation, Wandy can pupate. After pupation, 3 flora are chosen randomly to have their effects applied- then the effect chance is rolled. Mutations change Wandy's appearance, abilities and stats.

(2) When Wandy dies, they drop dog parts containing some of their prior gut flora (and canem labo), as well as a dog core. Wandy can hold onto an intact dog core for some passive sanity, or even socket them into Crab King's crown (where they function as random gems, or maybe have a wacky unique effect). Wandy can also crack a dog core and eat it, gaining Bacillus vitae gut flora. Under the effects of Bacillus vitae, when Wandy next dies, they will be able to survive at low health- but at the cost of becoming ancient (which causes them to loose the ability to mutate)

(3) Wandy can sometimes fall over, especially when moving at high speeds (chance increases by .5% for each 1% of speed buff), wet (above .5% chance for every point of wetness), or at low sanity (+.5% chance for every point of sanity below 100%), or when when carrying heavy loads (+10% chance). Certain mutations also increase Wandy's falling chance, such as short body, narrow body, and mismatched limb lengths. Default falling chance is 1% per 5 pitchfork tiles distance traveled. All mutations are absolute instead of gradual! Wandy either has them, or doesn't have them, for modding complexity's sake. All gloss/metallic/matte modifiers will not be included, and neither will pattern brightness or size modifiers.

When Wandy pupates, 3 flora are chosen randomly from the gut flora to have their effects applied- then the effect chance is rolled.

Mutation chances are: O- 100% ^- 60% ◆- 25% *- 10%

I was playing DST with my friend last night, and we have a world that is year 5 and we (although yes it was cheated) just killed Crab King and that wore us out so much we decided to do a new side where I play Webber and they play Wendy.

Anyway at like, 4 am my sib came into the room and I screamed. She looked at me and told me to be quiet (rightfully so) so I whisper to my friend "What happens if a meteor hits my crops?"

The face my sib gave of utter concern was so fucking funny omg.

Also the side is going great and my friend is totally not killing every fucking spider in existence when I specifically said please dont I can cause infighting for spider glands :)

This Week on Monday DST Session:

Crab king. I had never fought him before so I kept getting frozen and we had several goofups because I accidentally brought bees! Also one attempt a fuckin shark decided to be a nuisance and keep attacking grandma(me) and wyneer, lovely shark. :)

also i got frozen right as the boat sunk so white wickerbottom. I stayed like this until we rolled back.

After that the rest of the session was just cleaning up base and making it look pretty! We got a lot of good progress but I forgot to take a picture, next time! also wyneer default dance

Before anyone says "just play lights out mode in dst" that one isn't really fun since it doesn't change much besides the perpetual darkness. Love the idea of zombie versions of characters reviving on the lunar island. Maybe the game could have more things that are similar to the stagehands since I find those a bit unsettling

i think that lights out is a good start! i didn't try it yet but i remember wanting to do something similar back when DST was still in its beta, i think it's an interesting way to change the dynamics, but. we had it already in DR with story mode.......

idk again. i adored return of them i think it added a lot of horror and lore to the game and that fucking crab king but. if you don't care about lore it really feels like both the ocean and the lunar island were left kind of. "unfinished"? it's not the right word i'm looking for but. the archives are absolutely great, and of course now they're adding more content to the ocean, i'm not asking to have shipwrecked 2.0 even if it would be a great time to reintroduce fanfavorite girl walani, but the lunar island being able to make just hounds and pengulls go back to life feels like a missed opportunity

MCYT in Don't Starve Together!

(I love this game so much, let me have my moment)

Wilbur has at least a stack of grass, twigs, flint, logs, and other practical resources. He's making a plan for winter, has a decent base set up near pigking by day 12, but has somehow forgotten about food. Luckily, Niki didn't

Tubbo is scary good at the game, and already has a base set up next to the giant bee hive. They decide to jump in and out of a wormhole over and over, though, and died to shadow creatures. They found a touchstone, respawned, and then somehow befriend the Bee Queen??? She helped them fight shadows, somehow, so now Tubbo has access to nighmare fuel and is unstoppable.

Tommy spends the entire first day trying to kill a bird with his spear. He dies to darkness and follows Wilbur around as a ghost. Eventually Wilbur revives him with a tell tale heart, and Tommy immediately goes back to picking fights with small mobs like rabbits, frogs, and spiders. Once the war starts (because it's them, of course there's a war) he focuses more on gathering resources and food, and sets up a bunch of rabit traps.

Techno is playing the long game, he sets up a quick base at oasis and starts looking for bosses to kill. Somehow he takes down Crab King by himself on day 3 and goes back to his base. This is when he realizes he can grow potatoes in this game too, and fills the entire oasis desert with advanced farm plots and begins his empire. He finished before the first winter. This actually works as a survival strategy too, because he uses bundling wraps to keep stacks and stacks of potatoes fresh through the winter

Dream tries to speed run fuelweaver after seeing that the current record is over 2 hours, but quickly realizes that this game is very different from minecraft. He kills a beefolo to make himself feel better, and no one hears from him for a few weeks. Sapnap and George are a little worried, but then he uploads "Ancient Fuelweaver solo kill on day 14" and they're even more worried because H O W is that P O S S I B L E

Sapnap is just there to have fun, he messes around for a bit picking flowers and killing spiders, and eventually decides to burn down Wilbur's base as a prank. This ends up prompting a war between the two, so now they're both trying to build the biggest, best base they can to one up the other. Its not going well for either of them until they get allies.

George, who actually knows how to build, decides to help Sapnap in his war. He spends a few days gathering rocks and logs, but Tommy ends up stealing it all. It's basically another Dream SMP war at this point as George hammers down Tommy's work as retaliation, and uses the resources for him and Sapnap

Niki makes a butterfly garden, and a community farm in the deciduous forest. There's a berry area, mushroom planters, beefolo pen, pine tree section, and about 30 farm plots. Theres also a small croc pot area with a bird cage, some bundles she borrowed from techno, and a couple ice boxes. Needless to say, neither her now her allies go hungry

Eret spends most of her time in the caves, and made her base down there. She has a massive storage area, with most items in the game in abundance. Everything is lit up with mushlights. She spends a lot of time grinding or fighting, so if someone needs something rare, like a moonstone staff, or something tedious to get, like a few stacks of web, they usually ask Eret. She's also good at group fighting, so sometimes she, Techno, Dream, and Bad will go on ruins runs together or kill toadstool

BadBoyHalo felt bad when he killed the rabits, but it was worth it because he fed every pig in the village and now has an army of freinds. His main pass time is using a pitchfork to make pictures on the map. He pretty much ignores needing food and light, so Skeppy is constantly saving his life. Bad is also strangely talented when it comes to spelunking, and has gone to the ruins with Techno and Dream

Skeppy based near dragonfly, and kills her every time she respawns, giving him the biggest gem collection in the game. He's also got a nice crocpot area and a pig farm, so he doesn't really worry about food

JSchlatt is on the Nighmare Throne, no one knows how, he just is. I know its not possible to do adventure mode in DST, but he heard there was a throne and his lust for power made it possible

Match #1: Trios Contest Da Soul Touchaz (Marshe Rockett, Acid Jaz & Willie Richardson) vs. Merlok, Hermit Crab, and Cajun Crawdad It’s the first time DST has been in CHIKARA in six years and they made good on the return, with Crawdad getting pinned after Richardson “Dropped the Bomb” (top rope legdrop) on him. WINNERS: Da Soul Touchaz Match #2: Tag Contest Lucas Calhoun and Stray Kat (2 points) vs. AC/DC Once again, Kat wanted her belly scratched and Arik Cannon wasn’t having any of it. Darin Corbin knew what to do with a Kat, and pickpocketed a cat toy from the ref to gain an advantage. After some extended slo-mo, Kat and Calhoun hit a pump kick/Samoan drop combo on Cannon to pick up the win and their third point. There was said to be some slight tension between Cannon and Corbin the whole match, resulting in Corbin abandoning Cannon post-match. WINNERS: Lucas Calhoun and Stray Kat (3 points) Match #3: Singles Contest Solo Darling vs. Icarus Said to be a good back-and-forth contest. Solo had Icarus in the SharpStinger at one point, but he got to the ropes in time. A spear followed by the Wings of Icarus secured the win for the senior member of F.I.S.T. WINNER: Icarus (1 point) Match #4: Trios Contest The Crucible (Evan Matthew Demorest, Tunku Amir, and Matt Makowski) w/Ophidian, Strixx, The Whisper, and Frey Nassar vs. Fire Ant, Thief Ant, and Green Ant Yup, the entire gang was out. The Crucible’s been awfully busy this weekend despite not even having much of a presence on the Aniversario cards to begin with, and this was no different. Demorest and Makowski had no problem running roughshod over Thief and Green Ant, respectively. Fire Ant was the only one who managed to get in some offense at one point, but Amir caught him in a tombstone. The Colony rallied back against the triple-team tactics of the Crucible, but Thief was caught outside after a crossbody, Fire Ant got dropped outside the ring, and Green Ant was KO’d by a kick to the head from Makowski. Yup, Ophidian’s “resources” beat the reigning King of Trios. This year’s tournament should be very interesting. WINNERS: The Crucible Match #5: Singles Contest John Francis of Coronado vs. The Whisper Said to be a pretty good contest, punctuated by the two trading near-falls back and forth ‘til one of John’s finally stuck. Whisper quickly indicated that he’d been “this close” to getting the pin himself. WINNER: John Francis of Coronado (1 point) INTERMISSION Match #6: Singles Contest Ophidian vs. Mike Quackenbush It’s weird saying this regarding a Quack match, but...SQUASH. Ophidian wrecked him in about two minutes flat, making him tap out to the Ophidian Death Grip. WINNER: Ophidian (1 point) Match #7: Trios Contest The Proteus Wheel vs. Thunderfrog, Wildcat, and Air Wolf Surprisingly given how awful they’ve looked lately, the Wheel seemed to return to form for this Trios contest and got the win via a pile-on pin on Thunderfrog. WINNERS: The Proteus Wheel Match #8: MAIN EVENT, non-title Lucha de Apuesta (mask v. mask) Dasher Hatfield vs. Boomer Hatfield “You’re a horrible father” chant to the tune of “Seven Nation Army”. Clever, folks. Very hard-fought contest. Also apparently a lot of shots of Molly McCoy in the crowd, cheering on Boomer...and tweeting support for both with the exact same tweet, just with the name changed. Boomer finally made Dasher tap out to a guillotine choke. Post-match, Boomer couldn’t bring himself to unmask his father, resulting in Dasher berating him and unmasking himself... ...then Molly jumped in the ring to cover Dasher’s unmasked face with a towel, blaming Boomer for the entire thing and saying she’d never forgive him, confusing a lot of people once more. Seriously, we need to talk about Molly McCoy for a bit. She was introduced as apparently being from Touchdown’s side of the family (so Dasher’s wife was a McCoy?), but rooted against Touchdown in the ladder match. She was friendly with Boomer and worked with him during the IG, yet cackled and mocked him for being eliminated by Dasher. There’s what happened during this match. There’s her tweets. Is she intentionally trying to stir the pot, or is she just mentally unstable? WINNER: Boomer Hatfield (1 point)
