I just realized, if Henry doesn't get killed by something, he's going to live a really long time. Like, stupidly long.

He's a druid and at 18th Level he gets access to the class feature Timeless Body, meaning that for every 10 years that pass, his body only ages one year.

He was mid-thirties when Odyssey took place, it's like two and a half decades later and biologically, he's only now in his late thirties, maybe forty at a push. He probably looks more like Lark and Sparrow's brother than their dad.

Also I fully believe that Henry wouldn't think it was magical in nature, he would be totally convinced it was due to lifestyle choices.

Glenn - Henry, look, here's a picture of us from twenty years ago. And here's a picture of you I took earlier today. Side by side, look, you look exactly the same.

Henry - Well, would you look at that? Gee, it looks like wearing all that sunscreen is really paying off!

Ron - Okay but you're sixty and your hair isn't even thinning.

Henry - Huh, I guess you're right. That's probably the all natural shampoo that Mercedes makes - she puts rosemary oil in it, she thinks it smells nice, but it's also supposed to be good for hair follicles. I guess it's working?

Darryl - Henry, everyone else your age has creaky knees and back problems and groans when they get up out of a chair!

Henry - Ah, yes, but you're forgetting I do yoga every day, so, that keeps me limber.

I couldn't tell you why, but something about Halsin taking the time to write "My Dear Nettie" and reminding her to take care of the animals and not to feed anymore fish to Tuffet the bear really gets to me - the note is literally rushed and scribbled, but he still took the time to be kind.

I can’t believe I’ve never completed a full picture of Amoré & Agatha, since she’s another NPC I tend to yoink for AUs a lot.

Anyways, this is the first addition to the character scrapbook that I never got around to drawing when it happened in session.

Amoré has a really complicated relationship with her (great 10x??) Aunt. She didn’t even know she existed until her parents sent her off to get some magic items appraised by a reclusive relation that lives in the woods.

Within half a day of being there, she got hit with the knowledge that this woman now has full guardianship duties over her. Despite the fact that Amoré had only seen her parents as a convenient but minor annoyance for many years, it still completely blindsided her that they could make this decision at all. And without her finding out until she was already out of the Estate.

This woman she barely knows somehow holds all the authority to strip her of her family name & status. She declares that Amoré has failed to perform well on a task she set for her, bringing into question her worthiness as the next heir to the Bellridge Legacy. She suspects that Amoré has lost her connection to her Angelic Guide, & is forcing her to face the reality of it.

Also…she stole two highly trained Bellridge staff & gave her Sylphi as collateral, which Amoré did not hesitate to make it known she found it to be “not a fair trade.”

After their first night in Agatha’s home, Amoré’s old nightmares begin to resurface after a few months of deceptive peace. And now she is torn between shoving away this woman who pokes mercilessly at her most tender wounds, & leaning on her as a source of support as the only person who could probably guide her through her broken Guide connection.

Too bad Amoré is allergic to asking for help ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

it’s completely bananas to me that halsin's sex scene features a moment where he somehow loses control of his druidic powers and wildshapes into a bear, because he’s apparently that horny. like...gale had to be infected with a mindflayer tadpole for him to make mistakes in his spellcasting, even though he already carried a small nuclear bomb of evil, weave-consuming magic in his chest. what THE fuck is halsin’s excuse? like, as funny as it is for an archdruid to be so overcome with lust upon seeing a tdick that he loses his grip on his abilities, it makes absolutely no sense! what do you mean that this guy has enough power to open a portal to the shadowfell, and rescue a little fey boy from it, but he can't control his wildshaping because "bear horny?" HUH?

#bg3 #thoughts about media #the more I think about halsin and SH. the more I grow resentful of their writer in specific. #genuinely. what the hell was this guy thinking. #like how is this scene meant to be sexy? #as a monsterfucker- I GET the appeal of a man fighting his “inner beast” to be with his partner. #but it doesn't come across that way in the halsin scene. it feels...silly? nonsensical? #he's an extremely powerful druid....losing control of his wildshape because he's aroused makes him look...immature. #is the appeal of halsin not that he is an experienced but lonely older man? #when confessing to your player character- he expresses his appreciation for the care with which the PC has treated him. #which I LOVED because it developed upon that initial dialogue of his where he reveals how alone he really is! #his family is all gone...so he only had the grove. #but the people at the grove held him in such high regard...it was like he wasn't a person anymore. just a “leader.” #it makes perfect sense to me that he would fall for someone who treats his feelings as important...who treats him like a person! #but the sex scene devolves so rapidly into...god...something out of a badly written fanfic? #honestly- forget the wildshaping. your PC should have had the opportunity to top halsin. #it would have made MUCH more sense given why he's even attracted to your PC in the first place.

It's not that I "forgot" to cleanse the Shadow Curse, but I legitimately thought that the army being gathered by the Absolute Cult was somewhat contained by the Shadow Curse (because there's no way they could have enough pixies to shield thousands of soldiers when each lantern only covers a 6-foot radius) and decided to handle General Thorm first, but I WAS WRONG!

When the narrator said "You feel sorrow for the lands you leave behind, but it's nothing compared to what Halsin's feeling" and Halsin walked away all distraught, my heart fucking broke

Day 8 had Ornate and Shapeshifter as prompts, and I can't believe I spent so much time thinking about how to incorporate steel dragons into this when Zenithal was right there... Granted, I think only her cat form got an official design (and also any use in the campaign), but still!!  Her!!  And being abstract about it!!!

Anyone else have beef with random historical figures for no good reason. Had to make a presentation about Augustine of Hippo once for a shitty college class but I hated the book we were learning from (see tags) so I associated the two together and now everytime I see his name I furrow my eyebrows and say "Augustine..." like he's my nemesis

#see tags: i hated the book because it wasnt actually a history it was like. a motivational book? but by an author that clearly assumed #that the reader would both 1) be christian and 2) trying to stand out and be an exceptional leader individual #i and my friends were neither of these things tbh and we drew the line at when the author started talking about 'pagans' as a single group #and like. im talking about like. the author seemed to think all pagans were fantasy druids? and was UNCITED just talking about like #'pagans had no sense of time as a progression and only thought of time as cyclical' was the main thesis. which. what??? #it didn't matter what kind of pagan either as long as it fit the authors intention. im talking greek. celtic. native american. and more! #sometimes the author didnt even specify! he just would start talking about pagans like they all were homogenous and shared all beliefs #and because i had to present on THIS GUYS conception of Augustine i kindve just associate that author with augustine now lmao #sorrrrry augustine i know it wasnt you who did this but tbh what little i know about you you probably would've agreed #BY THE WAY #a happy ending! we talked to our professor about our issues with the book and he took it off the list for upcoming years #i wish i could remember the title but oh well #it was literally called like 'expreasing individuality' or some shit #leadership major future politician CEO nothingburger ass book #the whole class was also structured around that nonsense leadership and entrepenuer and ceo grindset type shit #(i took this class cause it was required for a good scholarship i had lmao) #... now that im thinking about it #this was also the class i attended while on the afterglow of LSD. #so uh. yeah. lmao

Gotta say the new DnD movie is accurate as hell regarding all the chaos players get up to. It is utterly ridiculous and I love it.

It is not a serious movie or a movie one should take seriously. It has the same tone as my old college group had, but with less campaign derailment.
