Isn't a writer question but was curious; How does wenclair different from other ships you've enjoyed?
Is it solely due to having been a lifelong Wednesday Addams fan, or is it specifically the Netflix's Addams world that you find intriguing?
I ask mainly because I recall you once saying that your wenclair comics--specifically the Next Gen Au I believe--are written and made with a lot of intention in regards to dialog and the discussions had between characters.
Is this due to a greater insight into the characters or simply a mark of growth in writing comprehension?
I like to think I put as much thought in all ships I've been hyperfixated on tbh. Wenclair isn't even the one I've been obsessed with the longest. So far it's actually Trimberly, for which and I was hyperfixated with for like 3 years.
But yeah ok I get ur point lol The intensity this time feels different, I suppose.
I think it's a mix of both being a long time Wednesday Addams fan and how cute of a ship Wenclair is both in concept and the canon execution of their dynamics.
As some of you are aware, I've been a fan of The Addams for a while now. All incarnations of them are great in their own way, but one of the many reasons why the animated 2019 movie is my favorite is because it didn't give Wednesday a bland ass male love interest. I don't think the B/W series did it(because Wed was like six in that) but the 90's movies, musical, and netflix series for some reason found it necessary to give Wednesday male love interests so painfully boring and i hate it. This isn't even about making Wednesday attracted to boys. I personally headcanon her bi, as the ol' stereotype that all grumpy/angsty female characters must be lesbian isn't my cup of tea, and also because I like to think all Addamses just don't give a shit about gender when it comes to romance. I woulda been fine with her getting a boyfriend so long as they're not boring af and goddddd canon incarnations still haven't delivered. Joel was sweet but he was too much of a wimp, not even Gomez is that pathetic. Lucas' thing with Wednesday was just portrayed in such an icky way in the musical that I couldn't finish watching by the time their sexually charged duet came on, and don't even get me started on the boys Netflix gave her. I expected better of Gough and Millar...(unless the blandness was on purpose like it was with Lana Lang--)
Anyways, because of all said canon love interests, I've been desperate for Wednesday to have a love interest that is both not painfully het or boring for once. Crossover shipping with Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice the Musical was fun but was ultimately a very niche fandom. I could only draw and write for an audience of twenty or so people for so long. Parker from the animated movie would've been great, but the cop out with her mom dating Fester just made it too weird for me to be fully on board with the ship.
So when Enid Sinclair was introduced as a character I was absolutely ecstatic. On paper alone she already seemed great. She has a very distinct appearance (even if her "design" was inspired by Harlequin and it shows) that goes so well when she stands next to Wednesday, whether it's in the actual show, fan arts, or even in official merch. Her being Wednesday's complete opposite in so many ways makes her being paired with Wednesday so dang interesting too.
And I don't just mean aesthetic or personality wise. I'm talking about how one of Wednesday's struggle stems from having too much smothering love from her family as someone who gets overwhelmed too easily, and Enid's loneliness and insecurity coming from her own family's lack of love and attention where it matters most. Or how Wednesday's just girl who, deep inside worries about being an actual cruel monster like the very bigots she hates, while Enid is a supposed beast who resents herself for only being a scared little girl. Even the fact that Wednesday is an older sister to a soft-hearted younger brother while Enid is the youngest daughter to a bunch of rough-housing older brothers feels very on purpose.
Everything about Enid feels deliberate. Like she IS supposed to be paired with Wednesday, platonically or romantically. She's the best person to stand beside Wednesday as a character because they have enough differences and similarities to have interesting conflicts but also significant character growths sparked by each other. She's not bland or boring like the canon love interests because even without her attachment to Wednesday, Enid is still such a compelling character. The mere fact that she's as popular as she is despite an eight-episode series being her debut in a franchise that's been iconic to generations is already pretty amazing, and only a character as impressive deserves to smooch somebody as iconic as Wednesday Addams.
And their on screen chemistry is just *chef's kiss*

Hey uh, how does it feel to be that much of a great artist? Like, genuinely, you're so... Like, amazing what you do here, your art? Top Notch, the character designs are so unique, but they all feel like they have a soul, in the best way possible. All intrinsical shapes and sizes, motivations, color palletes, everything is so good. The writing? Stellar, basing your matters on actual folklore, history and mythology is genuinely so great. Your reinterpretations of Canon characters? Incredible, Metamorpho isn't really something I ship yet you somehow made me enjoy it when you draw it yourself, as well as things like Sir Arthur and Specially Morpho give me joy.
Your art is such an inspiration... You inspired me to make my own stuff! Even if I sometimes am jealous of it fjdjdj, like what you do is so good that it makes me a little bit angry, in the best way possible.
George coming in strong once again to boost my confidence. Your comments are very much appreciated and highly valued. Every artist longs for motivational boosts like this. I am flattered, to say the least and delighted to hear that I have inspired you!! eje6e5f2uf
That being said, how does it feel? I’m in constant fear of failure. I could probably easily list like 20 artists I wished I could be more like without even leaving Kirblr. If you ever wonder whether I too feel insecure about my art the answer is yes. I've been trying to find something to work on that the community enjoys in greater numbers for almost a year and failed time and time again. But we keep on going all the same :galathumb:
Anyway, on a brighter note, Metamorpho! Or how I like to call it Morphometa because the Metamorpho tag is terrible for finding art of them which might contribute to the low popularity of the ship. As a matter of fact, it is so unpopular there doesn't even appear to be a ship name to borrow from the Japanese fandom.
What is the appeal for me in this ship? They have chemistry for being warriors of similar moral standing but there gotta be more than that. In the case of my interpretation, spoiler alert, it's the depressed guy and reaper dynamic. One who views himself as a monster that wants to go out as a hero never to be seen as what he is and a one who on surface level is a being of life and light but has hidden flaws that haunt his mind every second of every day. One who sees the good in the other and wishes for him to see the bad in him as opposed to the one who just can't do either. There is a wish to be understood and over time they learn to be just that for each other.
Then Sir Arthur… a terrible person who is trying to become better without ever being held accountable for his action. Someone who thinks he has successfully left his past behind only for potential secrets to be exposed. A man who is willing to switch sides at any second if he sees no way towards redemption anymore. Never turn your back towards this man.

EXCUSE ME I RECENTLY DISCOVERED VOCALOIDS AND IMMEDIATELY FELL IN LOVE WITH OLIVER /p
thank you for blessing us with ur Oliver art <3 he needs more love fr. and more happy songs.
i just got here so im not sure if you've mentioned it before, but do you have a fav Oliver song? :3
I'm glad you like my art of him! I've been drawing him for 9-ish years now, but it's always nice to hear other fans of his also like my art! I don't actually talk to a lot of Oliver fans haha.
I always really really admired Dappleback/Lawlietlk's designing skill, and I had a whole presentation how much I appreciated his character design and how it lead back into why I think as a vocaloid he has one of the best designs.
Like don't get me wrong, Vocaloid (and other synths) have really good designs, just sometimes they aren't necessarily as good as Vocaloid designs y'know?
Like hear me out, I feel like the biggest appeal of vocaloid mascots is this: They can be whatever you want. Now on one hand you can argue that 'no mascot' is even Moreso freedom and should have worked better than mascot, but what's missing is the intrigue. There is a breeding ground of creativity hidden beneath restriction.
Like, often enough what people need most in order to create something is just a guideline, and for me that's what Oliver offers. Like, sometimes, too much canon is a bad thing, and people need to remember that.
The #1 selling point of Oliver's design is the intrigue his design offers. There's so much of it that once changed loses that 'space of expression.' And yet, no matter how much you are able to change, he also is able to maintain that 'constant' that lets you know that yes, that is still him, even if you change it. I don't have it anymore but it's been years, but I had a whole chart explaining it.
Over the years Oliver has gotten a lot of motifs and concepts assigned to him, that only derive from smaller aspects of his designs, for example: His bandages.
While you may argue it's not entirely unique, that is exactly the beauty of it. It's because of that so many different concepts stem from it.
One of the biggest themes correlated with Oliver is a monster/horror theme and you have the bandages to thank for it. The amount of concepts I've seen born from the sheer mystery of his bandages were so vast it's crazy. Whether it's because he's a cryptid/monster/cursed or otherwise, people are forced to make an effort to use that "why?"
And on the flip side, there is other mysteries people find from his bandages that aren't horror, they're instead going for something else: A poor waif, a vigilante, a witch, and etc. Through the simple [why], Oliver becomes limitless.
And while we're still discussing his bandages, there is elsewhere you can find beauty in his design. I know a lot of his fans are or were children when they became fans of him, and I know for a fact that some of them related to his design. It's not like he had much to go against them in thinking that-- and it's not just because of his song. For me as a child I projected onto him as a (character) as someone I could relate to. That's uh, probably why a lot of people tend to use him for horror or darker stuff. I know that some people are... unsavory, but that's why I don't really like when people hate on horror content made from him. I know a lot of people are weird about him, but it's a form of self-expression all the same.
Even aside from his bandages, his design still manages to offer intrigue. While Miku allows herself to be a blank canvas (being a mascot with very little ties, a digital idol who represents exactly that) Oliver is more like... a puzzle? Except there is no wrong answer and every time you put it together, it's always different.
There was a lot of misconceptions around his design, but Oliver was based off choirboy outfits-- not that everyone knew that. A lot of people interpreted it as a sailor outfit with nautical themes. That's why you can often see Oliver with sea-themed artworks or songs and/or if it's still around, sea-side waif depictions of him. But on the other side, there were quite a few interpretations of Oliver as a time-traveler- a noble- or hell: a literal bird boy.
Had he been given a more generic design, a more modern one, a more idol-esque version of himself, most of these interpretations of him would not exist. There would be less incentive for people to create that answer without the "why."
I don't really have a proper ranking on a more 'objective' ranking of designs as vocaloid specific mascot designs, but I feel like it's somewhat similar to... actual popularity?
Like... If i had to separate them, there's three categories in a venn diagram: Just straight up Good design (though I'd argue a lot of the other two would still fit in here), Fill-in the blank design, and blank canvas design.
I would say the OG Miku fits in all 3 categories but has been erring into just good design or her own category: too engrained into pop culture to fail.
Fukase is a good example of a Fill-in design, because he also has the classic "why" to his design. (Why is his coat like that? why does he have scars? is he human? is he a robot? Is he circus themed? Who knows?) You can see a lot of exploration of his character through that.
Vflower I feel like is primarily in the blank canvas design, because she more-so encompasses a certain fashion style and is able to attract the blank canvas of gender expression as well.
At the moment, to be honest, I can't really think of someone who only fit's in the straight up good character design but doesn't offer any mystery or fluidity, but that might just be my personality.
To be entirely clear, this venn diagram is probably closer to just a single circle instead of 3, but I'm mostly talking about which part of their design they align most with. (and the most common consensus of how to interpret them.
To be honest this is probably why I feel a bit like a Fake Oliver fan, bc I care more about his design more than his voicebank itself. (Sweats as I look at the vocaloid editor on my computer)
Man. Favorite Oliver song is tough.
Favorite Usage
I'll only be mentioning the publicly released songs using him, since it's a bit unfair if I recommend you something you either have no access to or I'm unable to find again.
To be honest I'm not a huge fan of some of Oliver's most known producers, mostly because I know they're not great people and refuse to support them. It's none of my business if you still listen to them, but I'd rather not. But, It's nice going down my old masterlist of Oliver originals.
I really like Rawbeans-P, if you ever heard her usage of Oliver, it's crazy stunning. Probably some of the best usage of him you'll ever hear.
Cat in a raincloud I know is relatively popular among my friends that I've pushed Robyn's music onto.
I feel like high up there is also Corasundae, who is honestly has a pretty refreshing (?) song-making style. I'm really not a music guy- meaning I never learnt a lot of terms properly and can't describe a lot of things to you, but I really like the general sound that corasundae uses in her works.
I think T.V.V.S is a pretty iconic song, but I'm emotionally attached to Other Side.
One of the songs I see people rarely talking about is Requiescat in Pace- I get it's probably because it's an older song, but I've always liked how it sounded and was a staple for me as a kid (and still fairly fresh into Vocaloid.) I don't think PARADIGM really released much else, but this song is sooo cool, I think about it a lot!
I'm not sure if you don't like horror, or just disappointed that it's a majority of his songs, but I don't think it's leaning too much into horror? It's really good though!
youtube
Another one of my favorite Vocaloid producers (the one I bought a keychain from as well!) is Veran Kuriensu! I found them originally from their original Lay, and it's possibly still one of my favorite Vocaloid Oliver Originals still to this day. While it's my favorite, I do know that they've improved drastically and their other works with Oliver is crazy good, but Lay has a special spot to me and makes me feel especially Nostalgic.
I've always liked how the lyrics sounded as well. I think otherwise my second favorite song from them is 星をあつめに. It's really good I Promise. Please please do give their stuff a chance!!
youtube
youtube
I feel like another producer I'd recommend for similar reasons to Rawbeans-P is Baggagelizard. He's always forever been kind of a legend to me! He's a super cool guy, and he has really good usage of Oliver's voicebank as well. One of my favorite songs he's done is Song for the forgotten, which was even my Oliver Collab piece back in like... 2016? That's honestly a bit crazy to me seeing how long it's been.
Baggagelizard tends to have such a special sound to the music he makes, I think it's kind of... a morose wistfulness? If you're into this one, I genuinely hope you check out his other works as well!
youtube
youtube
Actually I'm adding this one, because I really like the atmosphere of it! It's called Tavern and it's a really fun song using Big Al, Oliver, and Kaito and I think it's such a fun song! Apparently other Oliver fans I've recommended it said it wasn't their cup of tea though (′д`σ)σ.
youtube
OH and how could I forget: Childhood Bye-Bye is honestly borderline a classic for me! I think it's a really iconic song, but it always surprises me that it's not as popular as I think it is. The producers other works are also really good!
youtube
Oooh, another Producer I can recommend is Compasscat! They use Uni, SeeU, and sometimes Oliver (maybe other vocaloids but I'm actually writing this in class (lol). You should try checking them out! I think I enjoyed it but I've been told the things I like are... different from how other people like things.
youtube
Actually, on the thought of not-so dark songs using Oliver, I hardly see any Oliver fans (or Yohioloid) fans talking about Yellow Card. I hadn't listened to it for years, but I still think it's pretty fun to this day, you could try checking it out if you feel like it. While we're at it, I'll add a bunch of special mentions for songs I knew were fairly liked enough when I was deeper into vocaloid but never see people talk about anymore as well. To be honest, I'd have a lot more to add to this list, but a lot of Oliver Originals I really liked are deleted or missing.... I understand it's at the producer's own discretion, but it's a little sad.
Unfortunately, A lot of the Bilibili/Niconico songs that I really liked were deleted or really really hard to access/find, but I'll reblog if I find them again.

This should be Week 9 of Daily Dragons! Apologies for the delay on updating this but I've been incredibly busy and stressed due to moving. And while things haven't settled down per say I am no longer on a time limit to move out so hopefully I can have the ball rolling on the daily dragon challenge a little better!
As always you can follow me on twitter where they’re posted daily
And read more info on each of them below the cut
Daily Dragon #56 - Fygar
Another cute, arcade dragon! Fygar was always one I was gonna do eventually, and I didn't have a huge oomph to draw tonight so I figured this was a perfect opportunity for a simple one! Tried to do a new take on it inspired by a few different designs :)
i know ive been posting these all so late into the evening, apologies, im all over the place lately lmao also, am i nuts or didn't there used to be grey fygar? i couldn't find ANY sprites of them so I guess I made it up. Oh well
Daily Dragon #57 - Percipitar
A mollusc-like dragon that swims through rivers and ponds, slurping up water to bulk up its pouches, then turns that water into clouds for fighting and hunting! Their shell is very hard, but the yellow flesh is VERY soft and gooey.
Since the last few were all redraws / fanart, I really wanted to make a brand new one today! Originally this was gonna be a poison mist spewing dragon, but I couldn't decide on a color/effect for the poison. And I eventually thought just regular water and mist powers were a little more interesting because we've already had a few poisonous dragons or dragons that spew stuff that has effects on enemies. Note to self, stop making dragons that produce some kind of toxic or mist???
Just for fun and some background because I have it here, this is the unfinished version of the picture when I was making it poisonous instead. I changed it at the last possible moment lol
Tumblr media
Daily Dragon #58 - Mega Charizard Z
"Its head splits into 3 to become a menacing Hydra. While its brain power is divided in this form, its fire power becomes multiplied!" Not sure what type I'd make it? Maybe Fire/Fairy or Fire/Electric or something idk
Also I already have ideas on how I would maybe tackle this design a little differently so, maybe we'll see Mega Charizard Z 2 in the future
Daily Dragon #59 - Feral Cave Dragon
My brother found some ANCIENT art of mine in an old book tonight, so of course I had to redraw all the characters on it!
Tumblr media
This is, as I'm sure you can tell, an old bookmark! From back when I used to read... Horrifying times! My brother said he found it in a book I was reading around 2011 or so?
Daily Dragon #60 - Dragon Girl Green
This fun little dragon is February's most popular dragon as decided by vote!! That means she gets new art! Soaring through the sky and flying by some migrating birds! Seems like she's having a magical day~
My personal favorite from February? There were a LOT of dragons I actually really liked. But ultimately I'm just really smitten with Percipitar! Been a rough month! March is gonna be rough too but we will get through it! Thank you all so much for your continued support!
That means there's like... 305 days left? 306 cause of leap year??? Roughly 300
In case you're curious about the votes:
Dragon Girl Green - 6 votes Three Frilled Clovradon - 1 vote Percipitar - 2 votes Howl Gravwyrm - 1 vote Shellizard - 2 votes Succubusaur - 1 vote Shelldrogon - 1 vote Dragostein - 1 vote Floofizard - 1 vote Neck Lizard - 1 vote
Daily Dragon #61 - Rawrnosaur
A large, feral dragon with some odd properties. It has chameleon-like eyes, salamander-like skin, gecko-like tail, and a long lizard-like tongue. They're often found in places with more humid climates and eat tons of food constantly!
This is yet another redraw of an INCREDIBLY old monster of mine! This one is even older than the Feral Cave Dragon (which I found out is from 2011-ish) as this would've probably been before I was even in Kindergarten. Crazy stuff!
Tumblr media
The original was found while we were helping my grandma clean her house, which is cute. Some things never change, I've been a reptile fan for life! I'm actually SO happy with how this redesign came out. I might have to go through and color it in later!
Daily Dragon #62 - Mountain Dragon
This dragon lives high on mountain tops, where it makes its lair. It rarely comes down to ground level, only occasionally to find shiny things to add to its horde or when food on the mountain becomes scarce. As such, they're a bit rare.
Been having a stressful week, so I haven't been having a lot of original ideas for dragons. So this is another redraw. This dragon from 2023 was just called "random dragon" in my files. So there wasn't much to work with aha

Yeah! The g3!! I know it has certainly been a uhhhh controversial topic lol
Imo draculaura looks sooo cute
Certainly lolll
You know how it goes I'm gonna ramble again so I'll put the read more thing for the sake of scrolling past it 😭
Well I'll start off by saying that, in this era of reboots and mass adaptations of every mildly old franchsie ever, is kinda impossible to avoid negative reactions from the people who were fans of the first generation of such franchises, because it happens, when someone takes something you grew up with and changes it to a modern audience most people's reaction will be "what in the world that's not how it was back in my days" + the phenomenon of older generations not liking the stuff that comes all for younger generations and etc. And I mention all of this bcs this definetely affects how people's opinions on things such as design (of MH in this case) go, there's lots of strong biases in this conversation of reboots and all
And tbh I wasn't immune to that 💀 at first I didn't like a lot of small decisions they made because I was used to the old one and "the og's always better" type of opinion, monster high was a big part of my childhood and probably a big boost to my interest in art! Which is what I live for baisically nowadays so ofc I felt strongly about it 😭 but when I came back after some time I realized, hey it's not that serious. I don't even remember specifically what those things I criticized were about, so that's an indicator of how much I actually cared, deep down lol. Like, pink Lagoona did not kill me, can you believe that? /s.
My opinion as of now, is that I think the g3 designs are really cute on their own!! I'm gonna stop myself from comparing it to the first gen because for the most part that's a waste of time and also a huge tangent from where I want to get 😭 recent reboots are a product of this era and they adapt accordingly. Sometimes they hit sometimes they miss, I think g3 mh is going well mostly!
(Talking about the concept designs and doll designs in this part) g3 takes from general modern fashion, clothing-wise the characters are not draaastically different from each other, they all just dress like how teenagers nowadays do but each got their own little motifs to their wardrobes. I don't think this "lack of difference" between each other's outfits is an enormous one nor is it inherently a bad thing because hey, if it looks good it looks good, and you can distinguish their clothings between one another just fine imo. In some cases I got some nickpicking in terms of "the pattern of this shirt is not working with these pants" or "whoa there's a lot going on with these colors" or "they really love to put bright pink lipstick on everyone huh" but it's rarely something I heavily dislike (only cases I can remember are that I wasn't a fan of was Heath 💀 feels like halfway through the process of his design mattel said "no you can stop now he's good like that" nothing is happening with that look, it's crazy, what happened to my boy. And Twyla, that wasn't as bad a s Heath's, but it just didn't work for me)
I can't say anything about the quality of the material of the dolls themselves bcs I don't have any of the new ones but oh my god, I also think Draculaura is adorable 😫 I think Venus dropped too recently and I'd buy her for sure!! The braided hair is everything and her fashion sense is probably one of my favorites so far? I also love Abbey's doll, and Frankie too especially that one line that they got a guitar? Instrument? Rockstar theme I think? (I'd cosplay that, no joke) from what I can see the designs are putting a lot more variety on drawing and sculpting different body types, features and details on the dolls and I think that's super fucking awesome! G1 also experimented with facial features and details on the body every once in a while but not as nicely done as now!
For the animated series I understand they had to tone it down to some extent because inserting all details the dolls and concept art had could lead to technical trouble (I think), so it isn't fair to compare them to one another. I'm just gonna ignore the animated series in terms of design for now, cause it's in the dolls and in illustration that a franchise like monster high work best anyway. I don't think much abt the cartoon tbh and I'm also not up to most episodes, idk who else dropped recently. But honorable mention, in the standards of the animated series my favorite designs are Deuce and Medusa for sure
That's long enough of a post so I'm gonna stop right hereeee, this was more of an overview of the g3 as a whole rather than ratings of each character, but yeah! I'm no longer a hater, I'm ok 👍 (if you're one of the people who heard me extensively complain over g3 before in another social, honestly I don't even know what it could have been about but you know what, disconsider it, it's easier that way 😭) I may have more opinions about it but that's all I could remember for now. Also my brain is fried.
And I can always change my mind on this, so there's that! Someone get me a Venus and Frankie doll rn please and thank you

Thoughts on ARCADEA / AWOL
Tumblr media
Quite a while ago now I played the ARCADEA demo on stream with my good friend Purea Patel… I'm only writing this review(?) so much later because Ive just uploaded the VoD.
To get things started, ARCADEA Is an upcoming RPGmaker game in which you take control of Maisie, a mute girl on a quest to find her brother Jas. To do this, we must go through the world of Arcadia. It should be noted that Arcadia here does not refer to the Greek province, but instead refers to one of the interesting phenomena that can be found here: you see, In everyone's dreams lies an Arcade machine which represents their innermost psyche or something. It seems that we can go into these arcade machines for… reasons. Something to do with a cat? Here's the problem with writing a review of sorts from memory months after I've played something, A lot of the exactitudes of the game story have become hazy in my mind. For instance, I remember there was a talking cat who acted slightly sinisterly and seemed to be important somehow… The only other thing I remember about him is that we made him Australian for some reason. A lot of my recollection is like this, so from now on ill just mention the stuff that's stuck with me the most about the game.
Firstly, I must mention the art here, especially the character portraits. It's very good, I feel like all the main characters have very distinct designs, they're all vaguely colour coded in these nice lighter colours which both makes every character easy to tell apart which also giving them a nice sense of cohesion. It's all very cute, and this carries over to the level art, which also has pleasing pallets whilst keeping a good sense of variety between zones. Secondly, I must mention the minigames: they are of paramount importance in a game literally structured around arcade machines, and they most certainly do not disappoint. Even this demo has quite a few varied little gameplay segments, and it honestly does better in them than even some other extremely well produced or popular RPGmaker games like Pocket mirror, which relies a bit too heavily on variations of the chase sequence. Of course ARCADEA isn't exempt from having one or two chasers, close to the end there's a chase sequence against a paintbrush monster thing… but at least there is a mechanic there where you can leave bait for the monster to stall it a little. The other games are a bit more interesting though, for instance there is a puzzle in which you have to stand on a certain spot and then line up a piece of paper to reveal a symbol that tells you what direction to go next. It's a bit like that one forest sequence from Metal Gear, except in Metal Gear, the devs just left you to flounder until you got out. There's also one or two quick time button presses that I was very bad at… but it's also an interesting change of pace from other games I've played.
Last thing I'd want to mention here is that in one scene you are put in a greenhouse and told to draw one of a few plants highlighted in the room, except there was also a random set of vines highlighted that had nothing to do with this, and I was very disappointed when I couldn't try to select the random set of vines over all the pretty flowers to draw.
Anyway, all in all I had a very good time playing ARCADEA, and I'm excited for the full release. I would highly suggest that you play the game for yourself, you can download it here.
After we finished that demo on stream, me and Purea still had a fair amount of energy left, so we decided to look at the other game that the ARCADEA dev has worked on, A Wave Of Lights (AWOL). It's a cute little visual novel about a shut in girl meeting an alien girl and then, like, being gay for two hours. I've not much to say on the actual game itself since it's relatively short, It's just well written and the art is also cute. I will say that, uhh, I made some choices on the stream's end that might have impacted the drama of it a tad… When we played it we decided to voice one character each and whilst Purea gave a pretty neutrally toned voice to the main character, I heard that the other character was an alien and like… I can only decide the voice I went with as somewhere between Skeletor and a Dalek, because alien. It was really something going into the more dramatic or serious scenes with the characters opening up to each other and whatnot, where Purea was playing it 100% straight, and I was doing the silliest goddamed voice I have ever attempted.
to close this out, I should say that the Dev for Arcadia is named Aishin, and you can find them here on tumblr @arcadea-rpg.
Whilst Aishin was the artist for AWOL, it seems that the writer and lead dev listed was Tabby Wright, who you can find here.
AWOL itself can be downloaded from here, and finally you can find the VoD for my stream here.

So, this year I did my first Art Fight; I had joined in 2021 but kept myself as a spectator to observe it and see what the rules would be like, how things are done, the general etiquette of it - and I think, being involved in the fight is very different from watching it.. Wholesome, sweet and kind on the outside; very distant, lazy and disorganized on the inside.
Personally, however, I had a wonderful time! I think I pumped out loads of art and I am proud of what I did for others; high-quality, fully-rendered, respect being given to character features and everything being on-model. I drew exactly 80 pieces, majority of them being waist or fullbody, and only about 5 simple-shaped characters and 3 mass attacks. It was heartwarming to see much of it later being posted on Toyhouses, in the character's reference pages, and elsewhere. All around, I was satisfied in what I was able to provide and enjoyed drawing characters I wouldn't personally design, like drawing really cute girls and ferals when I usually lean to monsters and men! I found unique designs, novices and beginners, all sorts.
And while I got a quarter of defenses in return which I absolutely cherish and some sweet comments on a majority of my pieces, I saw how others have complained about not being given responses for work that they've poured hours into... That made me wonder if that's just.. Generally the mentality of artists now; either too introverted to show appreciation to fellow artists in spite of us collectively knowing how challenging it can be to make art, or just joining to farm and then acting too tired or busy to actually participate. - And then the other half almost kill themselves and psychologically drain themselves in the parasocial cycle that Art Fight has to offer in its "trading environment". Sure I could be classified in the latter group too, but I still practiced self-care and got shit done compared to the burnout horror stories I see. It's quite a wild contrast to observe, and leads to psychological turmoil on both sides when one only gives and the other only takes.
There's also the case of people joining the fight and not contributing at all; just picking a side, dropping some characters, (sometimes a broken promise) and then disappearing. I do not want to hear the "they have real lives off the internet, they were busy" excuse, either - I too have a life: I am a teacher during the week /and/ I have a weekend job. When it is summer holidays for the Northerners, I am down in the Southern hemisphere, dealing with the winter, working and freezing my hands up to the point I don't want to create art sometimes when I get home - but I was still perfectly diligent and on top of things.. But hey, maybe I'm built different, and some people are simply just lazy and want rewards without the effort, or quickly assume they deserve more than what they should.
On the bright side, I'm glad I didn't deal with anyone hostile or disrespectful, and I only encountered two genuine art farmers who pretended they didn't know how to draw or "weren't skilled". Always the same excuses, at some point we have to stop giving them the benefit of the doubt so often; As gatekeepy as it is, I'd imagine a game for artists should be reserved for artists, it's not like an unfit marine biologist would want to participate in the Olympics, let alone be allowed to, so why should people who otherwise hate drawing or don't want to learn the skill and deliberately say such things want to join? In a sense it feels like a mockery towards art and the exchange of creativity in general, and I've been on porn sites that check the quality of your art before they post it better than this! There should be at least an entry requirement for signing up for Art Fight where you send in an artwork before the mods verify your account; there would be a fuckload less farmers, for certain.
I'm hoping that maybe, just because it was my first Art Fight, that /maybe/ this high-attack low-defense ratio of mine is to be expected, and if I just manage to spread my art to even further crowds and find new people to attack, I'll find others who will like my designs and be eager to draw them with the same level of eagerness I had to draw theirs. All that matters to me is if I find people who /want/ to draw my characters, not feel obliged to, in the same way I was never obliged to draw that pink, ridiculously-well-endowed Succubus or stocky, angry little Pokemon - but I did it anyway! I simply enjoyed the spontaneity and diversity of character design and unfamiliar fandoms. In the end, after all I've said, it doesn't matter how much art you get in return, it's about how proud you feel about what you contributed to the fight, and what you learned and discovered in the fun little world of character design.
I don't feel discouraged to draw less next year, I'm going to simply relent, but I can see why other artists hang their heads after their first time when they encounter hostility, are ignored, or don't get what they want out of it.
I think these are some things that I would want to improve if I could:
The ratio should calculate points, that will really incentivize people into prioritizing quality over quantity with their attacks. If you want to see how many attacks VS defenses someone has, just go and check on their front page (if you want it to specifically see how many attacks and defenses they had in one year specifically, they should add a sorting filter for that). The only "downside" I can imagine is an increase in mass-attacks, a joy for some but not for others.
After July, I think that we should still be able to submit Revenge-Only attacks during August - and to not have revenge chains be exploited, only be able to post a revenge once on a Level 1.. Level. I see a lot of people seeming guilty for not being able to attack back within the month or being a minute too late to submit a revenge, and then also just being too shy to submit the attack off-site / not being able to do it offsite / not thinking it's worth it without getting points / etc. - and easy resolve would be to allow revenges to still be posted during August, and Moderators can calculate the event scores and winners in September; trying to cram all of the admin into 12 days is insanity and I am speaking from a perspective that deals with a painful amount of admin. Also, get a fucking search bar that's accessible for everyone, holy Hell.
I'm.. Not sure if my tangent was in good spirits or not, it's rather just thoughts that have been rolling around in my head while I've been reflecting on my experience. Hope everyone else had a good Art Fight and reached their goals, or met and made some friends through it. :)

Pigsy character sheet! 🐷🍜
(It's a work in progress...)
Is it bad that my second favorite character is the main character's father?? Also, PIGSY IS MK'S FATHER!! NOT WUKONG!! Don't get me wrong, I love Wukong BUT HE IS NOT THE FATHER!! *Insert Jerry Spinger meme* Ya know a oneshot I'm working on, (and just a silly headcannon I've seen that isn't that popular but it's cute) is that Pigsy adopted both Mk and Wukong. Like he got used to Wukong and just decided "Yep I need another one." and Wukong is Mk's big brother. It's cute okay. (Also I'm pretty sure that Tripitaka was a father figure to some extent to Wukong. I can't fact check that because I've never read Jttw but I think it's cute that Tang would be a father too Wukong twice after Wukong lost his family. (I don't know, I like it.)
Anyway back to Pigsy. Pigsy is a very underrated character and I wish he just got a bit more outta him. Like I know he's in I think every episode but I just wish we knew a little more about him. Like does he have siblings? How did he meet Tang and Sandy? Why does he yell at Tang for being a freeloader but still provide him food?
(I know the answer, they're married/srs.)
These don't have to be episodes or anything but I wish we knew a bit more. Exept the Tang one. I do genuinely want to know how they met. We knew from a photo in Pigsy's kitchen that they graduated together but HOW did we get there?? Just curious. Anyways back to my drawing and why I added stuff I added!!(Stuff will change so be prepared)
☆ Why he is so scruffy/fluffy??
1. I like the idea that Pigsy is a mix between a boar and just a normal fluffy pig. His mom is a boar and his dad is pig. I don't think female boars have tusk but shut up okay!! Let me have this. I just like the idea alot that Tang is this polished, rich boy while Pigsy is this fucking scruffy wild animal.
(Same dynamic with Wukong and Macaque. Wukong is this fluffy, golden, heart shaped monkie and Macaque is this scraggily animal.)
☆ Trans Pig??
2. Yes. I whole hearted believe that Pigsy is FtM. So is Mk. I just have this silly idea that Mk came out to both Pigsy and Wukong as Trans (Pigsy first obviously) and they both responded "Same kid." (I like Genderfluid Wukong but that's still under the Trans umbrella so ehh.)
☆ Lil details you might not have noticed.
1. Mk's little front hair part that sticks out of his headband is in the same shape as Pigsy's ears.
2. Pigsy has rips in his ears because he used to get into fights at school. (Another oneshot idea i'm working on where Pigsy is being made fun of like always so Tang decides to one punch man his bullies. Yeah Tang gets his ass beat and Pigsy and Tang get emotional.)
I believe that while most of Megapolis is accepting of demons and monsters not all parts like demons. Especially back when Pigsy and Tang were in middle and high school. It's better now be he still has scars from it.
3. Pigsy's wedding ring is on his right hand on the drawing to the left. Pigsy has a pretty and shiny wedding ring from Tang while Tang has essentially a tinfoil for a ring because Pigsy's couldn't afford much. (Pigsy feels bad about it but Tang wears that thing likes it's gold so he obviously likes it ALOT.)
4. Pigsy has both darker and lighter parts of fur. I have no explanation for this. Let's pretend it's because boars are darker than pigs so his Mom's fur tone is shining through. (Also that stupid "Pigs roll around in dirt and mud joke.")
5. I know I've talked about my oneshots on Wattpad (that's aren't out yet cause I want them to be good.) But for a Freenoodles oneshot I'm working on I 100% believe that Tang brags about Pigsy.
6. I updated my Tang design! If you look at my Instagram you can see this ugly art I did for Tang and Pigsy and they alot diffrent then I drew them three months ago. (Yes I am slow when I update.) I really like the way I drew him. His hair is really fun to draw.
I think this is as much as I wanna talk about this drawing. I've gone on long enough and I wanna work on other art projects. Anyways live, laugh, love Pigsy 🐷🩷!!

So, I have been busy making poor monetary choices again, in which I now own two different types of tablets specifically for art (ONE WAS VERY MUCH ON SALE, THE OTHER HAD A 50 BUCK COUPON, BOTH GOOD REVIEWS), and the first tablet I bought, that's honestly just a way of adding a touchscreen to a computer to me, cause like. It's a sensor pad? Well, it's proving that I can't mentally make myself apply a lot of pressure to technology, which my younger self with a ruined dsi touch screen would gape at. I have also gotten all my shelving units up! Not sure if they're staying where they are, or if I'm gonna move them around again, but I do know two that are staying where they are, mainly cause I am /not/ lifting that shelf all the way back up to chest level to take it back down again. Nuh uh, no ma'am, it will not be done. It's also gotten all my collectibles on it already, which has proven that I need to devote more of my budget to the Twins than Screamer. My frenemesis would be delighted to see my failure to my simpees.
Work has been better! Still hot, but we've slowed /way/ down, which means my supervisor has been letting me goof off on my phone or writing, cause we physically can't work too hard in the heat, but we also have no orders anyway, so... And because we've been able to get paid Not Working, I have gotten back into a werewolf story I started writing months ago! I'm setting it up one shot style rn, and posting the chapters as my brain accepts my pleading for their creation, but I also intend to make it a full and proper story once I've worked all the one shots out. I will openly admit to it being complete self service, cause I want a best friend who's 8 feet tall, fluffy, and has a crappy sense of humor. And is a cuddle monster, though that one is mainly cause I love glomming full force onto my people and displaying my awkward affection. I'm like a peacock, but instead of flaring tail feathers, I hug people in front of other people, whilst not actually really knowing socially accepted norms for hugging friends, tbh.
I also went through and completely reorganized my phones gallery, and got a very stupid laugh outta it. I have 461 transformers related pictures, and almost 400 writing prompts. Just. Saved on my phone. If I ever lose this sim card my writing career that i don't actually have will be over. On another other note semi related, I have been asked to design a friends tattoo! I don't know if I mentioned that in my last ask. He asked me to draw him a dragon to get tattooed, which, to be fair, dragons are among one of the very scant things I can draw well reliably, but also, dragon proportions curled into a ball sleeping are kicking my ass, and I am debating getting out my giant sketchpad to be able to completely control every tiny eetsy beetsy detail, cause my close friend wants me to do this thing that will permanently be on his body, and I really desperately don't wanna mess it up... Cause like. No one has ever asked me to ///draw/// for them before. I've gotten asked to paint, or do some small stuff with watercolors, but never /drawing/. And he knows I love dragons, it's part of why he asked. I just. It's a thing that happened that made me really happy, like hide in my pillow crying happy tears happy.
And then, on the fifth, I found an exactly 8 year old video of my childhood dog that we had to put down... it was from the summer before he was put down, which happened during the school year. He had been all that I'd had growing up, so, it hit kinda hard seeing something of him that moved. Even after 8 years, I still cry every time I think about him. He was the best dog any little kid could've ever been raised with, and probably helped boost my immune system against my allergies to boot, hehe. I cried for like, two hours, cause it was a video taken 7/5/2015. And, I thought I had lost all my images of him. It was a happy thing, just. A very sad type of happy. I wish I could tell him that I did love him, even if I didn't wanna lay on the ground and cuddle like he preferred. He was a dog that was born old, haha, never wanted to play or bark, he just wanted to lay on you and be loved. I was always running around on imaginary adventures though, but I did love him. If I was upset, he was my safe place. I promise this is a happy thing, it's just that I'm gonna be legally allowed to drink soon, and sometimes I forget that it's been so long since I got to see him. Especially cause sometimes, I still have dreams about playing with him in our backyard, right next to a giant pine tree covered in cicada sheds, laughing as he dug a little groove to lay in under the old rusted out trampoline. He was the most patient, tolerant dog, and it's because of him and the cat he raised with me that I'm not afraid of so much anymore. Ma and dad weren't there when we had him, but... I'll admit to giving them up forever if it meant I got to have him back
~Smooch
Hello there Smooch~
Sleeping babee dragon sounds so cute! I've never designed a tattoo, so I can only imagine the pressure (and of course the touching part of him asking you to draw his tattoo design).
Interestingly enough I too spent a loooong period of time where drawing was a dragon-only zone. I think it was back in like middle school? If you're struggling with a traditional four-legged two winged dragon, have you considered another type? There's Asian Lung dragons, Wyverns, Wyrms, or even a Quetzalcoatl style dragon that can all be very cool and might be easier for you to draw as a sleepy loaf. If your friend doesn't have a strong preference of course.
Tumblr media
How exciting, on sale art supplies. It's kinda hard to decide sometimes between art supplies and if you're new to it, it's not a BAD idea to try multiple different types and/or brand names until you find what you like. I own two different art devices, one Wacom Intuos bought in High School and a Huion art monitor bought like four years ago. I was a traditional artist at the time I bought the Intuos tablet, so I quickly found that I prefer drawing on an actual screen I can look at instead of drawing on a tablet, BUT I had to try the tablet first to know that. What that all amounts up to is I hope you like one if not both of them ^J^ It's good to hear that your job is calming down. I'm sure that you're enjoying having the down time to work on your creative pursuits. At the risk of sounding too much like a hippie art teacher, I say it's very important to have some sort of creative outlet in your life. So it's wonderful to hear that you're getting to write on your werewolf story. I send you my best wishes that your muse stays nice and cooperative for the whole process hehe.
And lastly: The bittersweet memory of a good pet that has passed is something that I feel blessed to have as well. I hope that you can continue to enjoy your memories of a good animal without being bogged down in the sadness of their passing.
It's good to hear from you again Smooch, glad to hear you are doing well~

If I could reboot
Now I know reboots of classic and beloved shows of our youth are technically looked down on in certain fanbases for arguably good reasons. But here me out I’ve been thinking and pondering on something a question of which was “If I could reboot a show, what would it be? What would I change and what would I keep?, and the most important one of all how would it still feel like the original show or series and not step too far into fanfic territory?” ( and with that I mean your just doing your own thing and straying real far from the source material.)
So for what I came up with was if I could I would give the Powerpuff Girls another try. I know the 2016 version is one that is not in particularly loved especially by me & on top of that I didn’t really watch the show I just saw a couple of clips and from what I saw I didn’t really care for it. Which kind of saddens me because I loved the intro that CN released for the show when it was announced that they were brining them back. And also I love the PPG’S a whole bunch. So much so that when I found out that there was an anime version of the PPG’S I instantly wanted to watch it and luckily YouTube hade a couple of episodes uploaded and some were even dubbed which was helpful.
And let me tell you I also loved the anime versions of these girls and the changes they made for them. I mean yeah at first when I watched it I was a little taken aback with what they have changed but to me they weren't that jarring. I liked how they weren’t really sisters and how they became a cute friends, I liked that they went the route of them being “magical girls” and transforming into the hero selves. On top of it all to me at least it still felt like it was the Powerpuff girls, nothing was too different that would have me to dislike or hate it.
But what where here to talk about is what I would do if I was to revive this show. What I would do is combine the original Powerpuff Girls & Powerpuff Girls Z. Keep the 60s modern feel for setting and have the characters designs simple but close to an anime artstyle. Like for example Magical DoReMi’s style or say Studio Triggers style. Have the backgrounds in watercolor like in Sailor Moon or any old studio Ghibli movie. For concept we can take form PPGZ by having the girls 1) not be related. 2) have them hit by piece of an asteroid that landed near Townsville. 3) have the Professor be their gradian for helping them with their powers. 4) keep magical girls aspect of the show. What to take from the original PPG would be 1) their names. 2) their Villans. 3) setting ex: Townsville, USA. 4) Characters in general. 5) the girls personalities. 6) professor being single & a scientist.
What would I add would have to be 1) I would add some characters from the ‘16 reboot. only because I feel like they could be better characters if written and handled well. For ex. Sapna  or even Bliss ( the one many didn’t like because of how she felt like a character the art directors kids made and forced the team and working staff to write a story about her and put her in the show.) But like I said she could be interesting if handled better. For me she is another super who works for Dick Hardly who works as an agent or sponsor for hero's in Townsville. 2) some characters from PPGZ.  3)  an monster island for where the monsters live not to far from the city. 4) other hero’s that were in the old show maybe some from the 2016 show (maybe) 5) an agency that sponsor's hero’s
For the most part that's what I have in mind I might post some drawings that I have been working on. As well as more on this concept maybe get into more detail, but for now that’s it. If anyone has any suggestions or wants to answer the question of what they would reboot I would like to hear it.

THE MOTION ART JOURNAL: ULTRARUIDOSO'S RESTLESS IMAGES
by David Koblesky
Tumblr media
ORIGINALLY POSTED 12/22/22 ON UNDRGRND.IO
Imagine you are a traditional illustrator, and you are creating something new and are facing a blank sheet of paper.  But what if that paper enabled you to create something that moved?  Since almost all images we now look at are on a screen backed by a computer, this is possible.  The image that the illustrator will create, which used to be necessarily static because of the nature of paper, can now move because of the dynamic nature of the screen. Both are flat surfaces presenting an image.  But the one backed by a computer can easily move.
Argentine artist Ultraruidoso is like this:  Essentially an illustrator since all of the images are ‘static’ in that they are in one position and do not perform any real narrative ‘action.’  Despite being ‘static,’ they move in the most dynamic and exciting ways, made possible because of the computer behind the screen.  His images burst with life and energy even though they remain in one position.  XCOPY is an artist who works in this style, but Ultraruidoso also uses sound, which he discusses below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ultraruidoso was generous enough to answer some questions about his art.
______________________________________________________________
Do you have a day job?
No, I’m an independent artist, a crypto artist, and I live from my digital art sales. So far, I haven’t had many sales, and my income is low, but I’m confident in what I do. I never had much money, so I know how to get through periods where I don't sell, but I hope this situation improves. The most important thing is doing what I feel I’ve got to do. My art is my passion, and I enjoy creating with image and sound.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Buenos Aires, in a small urban area. As a child, I drew monsters, aliens and space travellers. I dreamed of going to the stars in a spaceship, but I already lived in a galaxy far, far away, thanks to Star Wars. I liked and still like Horror, Fantasy and Sci-Fi movies, but I want to watch everything! I liked skateboarding and looking for “haunted houses” with my neighborhood friends. I love music, and since I was a baby, I listened to Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Led Zeppelin, Yes, The Beatles, Queen, Kiss, Giorgio Moroder and Kraftwerk on my dad's vinyl records! Yeah, this beautiful mix made me listen to The Ramones, Nirvana, Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Snoop Dogg, Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas, Spinetta, Charly García and Soda Stereo at the same time over the years, to name a few.
Did you have art training?
I’ve always been self-taught, and also decided to study academically, which helped me interact with people and also confirm that I can’t follow others’ rules and that it is better for me to find my own way. I studied Image and Sound Design. I learned about visual, musical and cinematographic language and how to write stories and create with images and sounds. I studied animation in a very experimental school workshop where I animated all the time using different techniques. And experimentation has led me to learn skills in creating oscillators, piezoelectric microphones, homemade instruments, bio-interfaces and even to draw sound on film strips!
How did you start making motion art? How do you feel about motion work vs. static work? Because essentially your work is static, but in motion, if that makes sense?
I experimented with still images, motion and sound, looking for my own style, a way of creating with which I feel is me, with which I can flow, have fun, have catharsis and be happy. I discovered that the best way to express myself is through animation, drawing and creating something alive, bringing out everything I’ve inside. I wanted to do it in a particular way; I wanted my art to be seen as losing the perception of time. I wanted to create a living image that you can always find new details in, details that you haven’t seen before. With static art, I couldn't achieve this, but I like the power of still images. I like it because you can enjoy simply looking at them or looking at them for meaning. When I created still images, I tried to create dynamism with my strokes, colors or adding sound to give them temporality, but still images are frozen in time. I wanted to create restless and live images, providing space for contemplation and reflection. Yeah, my art is motion, and at the same time, it’s static! I create animated lines, dots and shapes that form a figure that, if you abstract yourself, you can see as a whole static thing even though the parts that compose it are moving in an infinite loop, so this thing it’s alive. I create illustrations that are alive! But I also profoundly need to play with sound, make noises and music because, with these, I also express myself.
What role do you think sound plays in your work?
Sound is the soul, the essence of my visual art because I create from my internal sounds and sound experimentation. I’m always creating with sound. Rhythm is in all my animations, even if they’re silent. But if my art has sound, it’s always to create meaning, say something, and give a sensation because sound creates a whole artwork with the image.
What tools/processes do you use to create your work?
I draw my animations and create sound with an iPad Pro. I like my Pencil and interact with multi-touch interfaces. Sometimes I have an idea or concept before starting to animate or make sounds, and other times it’s a catharsis of feelings or thoughts that take me on unknown and unexpected paths. I like to experiment, improvise, I want to play. I create my figures by drawing animated loops. Each one has different timing and all animations are a whole. They aren’t created to be viewed separately. My animations are short, usually one second long, and they’re designed to be looping endlessly. So GIF is the best format for me. Sometimes I animate from my sound experiments that I listen to while I’m drawing. Other times I let myself fly away with my mind and heart sounds, my inner rhythm. My state of mind influences the character and motion of each stroke I draw or each noise or sound I create.
How long have you been in the NFT scene? How has it gone so far?
I started showing my art as NFTs in March 2021. I consider myself a crypto artist. People are getting to know me, and my art has received positive feedback. I’m so happy about that because it motivates me to create more and more! I didn't use Twitter before, and it took me a long time to learn how to interact with people on this social network. But now I’m more comfortable and even create Spaces where I improvise with my sound, sometimes something musical comes up, sometimes it's a noisy madness, it's so fun!
What artists do you like and follow?
XCOPY, A. L. Crego, Mirai Mizue, Jan Švankmajer. I would like to mention Norman McLaren and John Cage because I really like their work.
Do you think that Motion Art is a new Art form as I lay out in my initial piece?
Motion Art has been around for many years, using all kinds of techniques and media. But not long ago, artists began to create art using the GIF format, whose main characteristic is the ability to repeat itself continuously. The repetition may or may not be noticeable, but when it isn’t, when you don’t know when a motion begins or ends, I think that art transports you to a timeless space. You can contemplate the artwork differently than a static illustration or an animation that starts and ends forever. I chose this way of creating with motion because I intend my art to seem alive, that you can look at it for as long as you want without being able to find the beginning or end of the motion of each element that I animate, that you can see it in constant motion, without noticing cuts, and that you can be surprised with a detail that you haven’t seen before. Because this way of creating art is becoming more and more popular, I agree with your thoughts about Motion Art. I'm not sure about the name because many people would argue that there’s a lot of motion art which may be created in other ways or follow different rules. Nor do I care about categories, but I think it's good that there are people like you who analyze art. I’ll be happy if you look at my art and feel the energy with which I created it, the motion that immortalizes my thoughts or feelings in an infinite loop. And thank you so much for your interest in what I do.

hello! i ran into your blog through the fanart you made of @/heartfullofleeches's OCs and honestly, i have too much to say to you. your artstyle is honestly so captivating, i decided to scroll through your blog's works the moment i saw your drawings of baron, maddox, and alasdair. it's the artstyle i've always wanted, in a way. i've given up on art for a while now, but whenever i imagined myself becoming the artist i've always wanted to be, i imagined i'd have an artstyle so similar to yours. the way you draw characters are just so attractive in a way, just so appealing and easy to the eyes. they're by no means in a style of pure realism, but if i could choose and redesign the look and visual of our reality, i'd certainly choose your artstyle! and then i'd deem everything pretty. not to mention, your character design (or your interpretation of certain OCs) really excites me, as strange as that sounds. to put it simply, it's really, really good! :D and perhaps i'm just ignorant and god awful at character design, but i honestly found all your works to look so fucking cool! the way you designed maddox (hoo boy), the vibe is on point and i am down on my knees and don't even get me started on baron! my adorable demon boy has just become more malewife than ever and i am absolutely IN LOVE with monsters so your drawings of all three of them just absolutely QUENCHES my thirst. your other drawings for certain OCs are also so so pretty. they're better than pretty and my words can never justify the level of skill you have, but, but, that's honestly the only word i can find. it's all the good things in the dictionary and pretty. don't even watch/read/play danganronpa, but your chiaka fanart and the way you use colors, also good!
anyway, the point is, i'm a big fan of yours. i know how hard it is to be an artist, writer, content creator in the internet, so i was hoping this could bring you motivation because honestly, you deserve much more praise than you get. am absolutely in love with your art, so i do hope you continue to dish out some amazing pieces! :D
Thank you so much 😭
I’m so touched 💕💕💕💕💕

Artist Challenge "Dimpro"
Diversity and Improvement ==> Dimpro
I thought of this while texting a friend and it seemed fun at the time. Plus I’ve wanted to improve my art for quite some time, so here we go! A list of things I (and probably others along with me) have had trouble with and, in my opinion, would, not only improve, but also diversify your art!
Dimpro challenge!
Tumblr media
1. Yourself
Introduce yourself by drawing yourself, the pose and clothes you’re in or the way you see yourself :)
2. Perspective following a dynamic motion
Animation often follows the motion of the action (e.g., a baseball player but the camera is looking at them from the bat, someone running but the pov is from the ground looking up etc.) It gives the illustration a dynamic feel (plus it looks cool;))
3. Hands and legs (+ at least 3 pairs of shoes)
Since they seem to be a difficulty to many, let’s finish this off in the beginning. (Shoes must be different types, can’t be all, for example, boots, or all sneakers, etc.)
4. A fight scene/a spots event (bonus if it’s a short comic)
Again – for dynamics and motion
5. A cyborg/steampunk
I’ve always had trouble with doing cogs/robot parts etc. This is to make it more fun. Remember to use a lot of references!
6. Vehicles/means of transport (+- someone in it)
Self-explanatory. Do trams, cars, bikes, etc.
7. A furry/anthropomorphic animal
Someone once said that furrys were the best artists because no one made the art they wanted, so they had to do it themselves. So, design yourself a cool little furry/anthropomorphic animal. If you don’t want to make one, Disney has made enough anthropomorphic animals that one can chose from ;)
Preferably use an animal you have trouble drawing/don’t draw often.
8. An animal (must be different from your furry)
Draw a regular animal (or maybe a bunch of animals). Don’t make it the same as the furry, we need diversity after all!
9. A feral animal (not the same as 7.)
10. An unusual piece of architecture/exterior
Draw a complicated or some sort of fantasy building. It helps with perspective (bonus points for more details)
11. A homeless man, a 12-year-old boy and a hooker (bonus if in one frame)
This is from a song, but character diversity is important, so what better than this. Bonus points for creativity if they’re in the same scene and/or interacting.
12. A band on stage
Preferably find a reference picture of a stage performance and illustrate it. (reminder to use reference.)
13. Strong perspective/fisheye
With reference! Link reference as well :)))
14. Bird view of a city (may include the bird itself)
Similar as the fisheye one, but from bird flight hight.
15. A monster/cryptid/strongly non-human creature
This one is just for fun. Thinking of monster anatomy, bone structure etc. can be fun, so go wild!
16. An illustration of what a fly sees (multiple hexagons and everything)
17. A character sheet (with outfits and expressions) for a website generated OC
If you don’t know how/want to search for a generator, here are some I like:
18. A short motion picture/action frames for an action your website generated OC (around 5 frames?)
You don’t have to study/want to be an animator to see that doing the outlines of animations will help improve your sense for movement/motion. It can be the simplest of tasks like picking up a piece of garbage or pointing at something passing by.
19. Interior
As important as exterior, and almost as neglected. Draw your workplace or a café you enjoy! Use reference!
20. A grumpy old person/grandma(?)
Combining facial expressions and wrinkles/more complicated facial features is important.
21. A back alley
Have fun with this one :)))
22. Design a trashcan (with a personality)
Give the garbage bin a personality. Treat it as if you’re making a character sheet all over again (accept this time it’s an inanimate object.)
23. A biome of choice
Scenery, nature, do as you’d like.
24. Free
Do whatever you want
25. Yourself
As a goodbye and to show your progress ;)))
No deadline, improvement shouldn't be rushed!
Have fun ;)))
If you do it pls tag it with #dimpro challenge and/or tag me <3

I was intentionally being super vague when I posted Colormania but I feel like maybe I should just say Colormania was made in pony town a few years back she was just random and inspired by one thing "art" her design was meant to embody and represent art I only made her for that purpose and ditched her a while after designing and abandoned pony town for a few years after her creation never being that big in the MLP scene BUT I started working on a AU for undertale half a year ago called "Surfacetale" it's starts out easy enough to explain but as I've kept writing for it I've created a lot of other things and need a better way to summerize it all properly however that's besides the point
Colormania was eventually recovered from Pony town when I started playing it again for a friend of mine while development for this project was still underway at first I didn't consider using her for this AU but as writing progressed I decided I needed more villians so I created 5 villians
●Chara
●Flowey
●Razor
●Dr Kumo Olvidado
and Colormania even though I think she came before Dr Kumo Olvidado and both of them came way before Razor who I stole from another AU of mine called "Grieftale" which no it's not my first time sourcing characters from Grieftale and moving them over to Surfacetale he's just the 3rd example of me doing that which actually works because Surfacetale and Grieftale are linked together in a odd way
Grieftale happens FIRST and Surfacetale happens AFTER Grieftale I don't wanna dive to much into these projects and the characters yet but I just felt like elaborating because hey why not?
I created a lot of different things for surfacetale and it's a pretty big AU with grieftale ending at around season 5 or 6?been a minute since I've checked but I think it only has 5 seasons before Surfacetale
Grieftale is a genocide run and Surfacetale is a neutral run
All the characters I've created for Surfacetale here
●Wysteria (Species: Earth monster) <originally made for Grieftale (she's the 2nd example lol)
●Grilby (Species: Fire monster)
●Frostflake (Species: Ice monsters)
●Isabella (Species: Human) <the player's REAL identity she was also made for Grieftale (She's the 1st example)
●Dr Kumo Olvidado (Species: Crystal monster) <sorta not though cause the void messed him up a LOT mentally and physically but he USED to be a crystal monster (I'm still being vague)
●Dr W.D Gaster (Species: ????)
●Colormania: (Species: Unicorn) <She is the ONLY one of her species in all the underground she's quite the anomaly (still being vague)
●Brayden (Species: Human)
●Razor (Species: Cat monster)
●Flowey (Species: ????) <doesn't belong to an established species in the underground but when you look a bit deeper and at the ghost possessing the flower I suppose he's just the same species as his parent's
●Chara (Species: Human)
●Sans (Species: Skelton)
●Papyrus (Species: Skelton)
•Snowdazzle (Species: Ice monster)
There are a lot of different species and the underground is a lot larger in this AU I even created some of my own species and new locations a few examples of these are
Melody monsters and Crystal monsters
Harmony hallow and Sunken shores
And so much more it's not done and may not be for a long time but as far as I'm concerned I have a lot of fun working on this and Colormania belongs in this AU I've really utilized her greatly in this AU and gave her a redesign in my drawing of her I hope one day to get these AU's out into the world and see what everybody thinks I tried not divulging much during this Surfacetale is a really big project and I know more then I'm letting on

As it is The 31st of October and Halloween j have decided to share some of the most spooky and not uhh mildly threatening artwork.
-note following artwork is not actually that threatening hopefully
So yeah this is mostly a massive dump of Halloween themed art that I made this month I hope you enjoy!
Drawing of a witch: A year ago vs now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I took art up properly about a year ago as an amature and over the course of a year I'd like to think I've gotten at least somewhat better but I'll leave that up to you to decide.
Character designs/interpretations for the characters Laura(on the left) and carmilla(on the right) from the Novela Carmilla
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah, I started reading this novel sometime earlier this month and my god was it fun! I love the whole mystery aspect to it with the characters feeling really layered with me personally having lots of theories about what's to happen next. Although I doubt I'll finish it during October sadly as I have tbh been a bit overwhelmed with college work and lost track of time. Also, castlevania- I watched wayyy to much castlevania. Btw apologies I hope its not but like I'm assuming as this novella came out like what over 100 years ago It probably has some form of problematic element to it although of course I haven't finished it yet so don't take me posting art of it as a condoning of such things if they are present. But if it's somehow unproblematic colour me surprised and very happy. Again, I need to finish it.
Here's a concept for my interpretation of Frankesteins monster
Tumblr media
So yeah, I originally had to study this novel for college, but yeah, I actually really enjoyed this novel as like whimsical twink commits crimes against god. What more could I ask for. I mean yes he is amoral af and I feel bad for the monster but like I'm happy yet surprised Victor isn't on sexypeida and the monster is. Like fuck yeah good for you Frankensteins monster™.
Random vampire oc I choose you!
Tumblr media
So yeah I ended up making a vampire oc! Is because of my hyperfixarion of castlevania? Yes there will be no more questions vampires are just plain out cool dammit. Also name is currently a work in progress so sorry if it happens to be the same name as another character or some irl person who's problematic or something.
But yeah that wraps it up I hope you enjoyed!
