I added a bunch of recommended firefox extensions, and it caused youtube to implode entirely. I can't watch any videos anymore, the screen is just black. There appears to be a single frame of some youtube popup about ad-blockers but I can only see it for a split second when I refresh the page so I haven't been able to read what it says. I guess it's the same one that used to show up when they started cracking down on ublock origin, but now the popup is immediately hidden by my plugins and the video player refuses to function. I've said it before, and I stand by it now, I would rather give up desktop youtube than go back to ads. I've been using youtube since at least 2007, but they've finally driven me away. I still have access to it via newpipe on my phone, but this means I have one less distraction on my laptop. They really asked me to choose between loyalty to firefox and loyalty to google as if I wasn't ready to drop them like a fucking rock.
Good riddance!

This fucking latest YouTube adpocalypse is so fucking funny to me because I’ve never seen her. I’ve literally never experienced whatever the fuck y’all are talking about. Skill issue.
Me n Firefox (with the Adnauseam extension) are over here making out with tongue and watching YouTube logged in completely unbothered by whatever hell y’all chromium users are in. Hope not using Firefox is worth it ✌🏾

Another reason to download Firefox:
You can do this with videos. On any website that plays visual media (Netflix, Prime, Youtube, etc.), you have a “tearaway” function on the video that overlays over anything else you’re doing: meaning you can multitask!
For my slightly ADD ass, this is perfect because I can draw and watch at the same time. I know I know I could just have it up on my phone too, but it’s convenient to have it on the same screen, and Firefox’s adblock extensions means I don’t have to deal with ads on Youtube, even if I don’t pay for a sub. This isn’t an extension either, it comes standard with Firefox.
Happy multitasking!

About browser privacy:
Your browser metadata includes but not limited to :
1.Your extensions
2.Your window size
So if you want a non descriptive fingerprint, something that is so uniform every Tor user looks the same for those sniffing traffic, while browsing you'd have to use Tor without changing the window size.
If you care about privacy you'd use Firefox with a handful of the most popular extensions (privacy possum, privacy bagder, ublocker, etc) and use some other screen size than full screen if your screen is some very unique proportions.
A fingerprint like this has actually been used to identify certain computers on a network and track their activity online, much like tapping someone's phone.

Customization: apart from the extensions, Chrome isn't as flexible when it comes to allowing the user to customize his browsing experience. We could leave it as a draw since Mozilla also provides us with over 15,000 extensions, which is not bad at all.

Extensions: Google doesn't offer data about its browser but its high market share and the fact that its web store is full make us think that it offers us all we need.
Speed and performance: both have a similar performance according to different measurement tools like JetStream, HTML5 Test or Kraken and in which, in general terms, Google's browser obtains better results when measuring GIF animations or running JavaScript elements.
Mozilla has evolved as time has gone by and now comes along with an interface that allows the use of complete themes.
Interface: Chrome hasn't evolved too much regarding its graphical aspect since it appeared in 2008.
In matters of taste, there can be no disputes, but there are quite a few aspects that differentiate both browsers which are the most popular in the world. Which browser is better? Firefox vs Chrome: the showdown
Reading mode to read without distractions.
Protection against trackers and adverts.
Synchronization between devices thanks to Firefox Sync.
Support for smart authentication cards.
SSL/TLS security system to protect the connections to servers.
Compatible with different web standards: HTML5, XML, XHTML, SVG, CSS, Javascript.
Here are some of the most important features of this great web browser: The guys at Mozilla state that it's capable of consuming up to 30% less in similar conditions and they've done so by giving priority to the active tab as well as the above-mentioned multiprocess execution. The latter include the new CSS engine, developed with Rust, and the capacity to execute multiple processes in parallel in the core, instead of sequentially.Īnother feature to be highlighted is the lower RAM consumption compared to Chrome. And although Firefox Quantum isn't exactly a new version of the browser as in the case of Microsoft Edge compared to Internet Explorer but we're talking about a partial renovation of Firefox, introducing plenty of updates. Version 57 brought along the Quantum project that we had been able to try out previously as a beta. Other browsers like Internet Explorer saw themselves in a clear disadvantage in this field, as they didn't allow users to improve its features by means of third-party developments, whether by professionals or amateur coders.

Anyone can develop them and they're really easy to install from the complement web or uninstall them from the extension manager found in Settings.įor years it's extensions have kept it in front of other browsers. The extension system of the Mozilla's web browser is one of its users' favorite aspects: you can add all sorts of new functions to its default features. Firefox add-ons and extensions: extra functions for your browser The success of this browser is due to several aspects, such as the fact of being an open-source development, its performance, its evolution or its add-on system that has been copied by other applications. We wouldn't dare to say so, but ever since Mozilla Firefox was launched by the Mozilla Foundation back in 2004 it has followed a path of success that has led it to become one of the most popular browsers in the world, battling it out with Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge (well ahead of Safari, Opera and others).įor Windows, for Mac, for Android, for iPhone, for Linux. Im gonna be so real Tumblr srsly needs to fix their damn searching system because I am trying to clear out some posts I made that I either think were made in poor taste, aged poorly, or revealed way too much to be comfortable and I cant search for 90% of my posts on my blog.
I gotta like. Ignore the unrelenting need to completely blow up my blog and restart because I still wanna be in the reblog circle with my mutuals.
