Everyone thinks Astarion's insecure about his relationship with Tav because he believes they deserve better. That he's fearful of them one day realizing he isn't so wonderful, so they abandon him.

But, like…what if Tav's the insecure one? Like, maybe they're insecure because they're human. Perhaps they see Astarion conversing with other elves or vampires who are more remarkable than them, so they worry he'll someday leave.

Elves are unlike most races, you may think you are speaking to an adult but be speaking to a child. Elves dont reach full adulthood till they turn 100, then they shed their childhood names and pick a new adult name. Tav was not an elven adult. They weren't even a elven teenager they were 27. Astarion was from their math 239, a fully realized adult elf. While Tav was barely able to go and explore the world under the watchful eyes of their parents. However, they got scooped up by mind flayers and here they were. They wondered if Astarion noticed or realized it, Halsin had very easily. Calling them little one and offering father like protection. Tav liked that it was nice to look to Halisn and have him nod affirmation that yes this was a good choice.

The parent child relationship didn't come to light until Tav got sloppy and accidentally called Halsin "Da" in elvish during dinner one night. Shadowheart spit out her drink, Astarion looked relieved while the others looked confused.

Halisn sighed and said, "not long ago I prayed to the oakfather for a child and he delivered just not in the way I expected." He had put a large hand on Tavs shoulder as he said it, to Tav's embarrassment.

It added to Tav's worrys that they would all find out they were just a child blindly leading the group.

It especially stung when Astarion had to use his flirting skills to get the out of several tight spots. He could have anyone, he could certainly find a more capable partner, not just a convenient blood bag.

Tav had been anxiously waiting for the other shoe to drop since Halisn had revealed their parent child dynamic. It had been weeks.

"For the love of the oakfather stop pacing child." Halsin's voice stoped Tav short.

"Da."

"What's troubling you. Come you can tell me."

Tav looked around before switching to Elvish, "Its Astarion, he says he has something to confess."

Halisn nodded for Tav to continue, "he must of found out that I'm not an adult. He's probably disgusted I've tricked him. And and he's gonna leave me." Tav started crying at some point.

"Astarion isn't going to leave you." Halisn said opening his arms.

Tav ran into them hiding their face. "You don't know that. He probably hates me know he knows my secret!"

A new voice cut through the air, "I could never hate you darling. If anything I'm worried you'll hate me."

"'starion?"

"May I?"

Tav was shifted from Halisn's arms into Astarion's. "Lets go somewhere a bit more private my love." Astarion walked off carrying Tav, "I don't want your parent to rip my throat out."

After he put Tav down he held their hands. "There is nothing you can ever say that will make me stop loving you. Nothing Tav. So don't be afraid to tell me what your secret is it can't be worse thsn mine."

"It is! I'm 27." Tav let the words hang in the air. Like a confused puppy Astarion tilted his head.

"127?" Tav shook their head, "you have so much time." He breathed.

"So much time to hate me for taking advantage of you. I had a plan a nice simple plan. Seduce you, sleep with you, manipulate your feeling so you would never turn on me. Then I started to genuinely feel for you, and my nice simple plan fell apart."

"Astarion, you don't hate me?"

"What!? No! Don't you hate me?"

"No. I'm upset with you but I coukd never hate you."

"I'm also upset you didn't think you could tell me your secret." Astarion hummed. "Perhaps a late night strole just the two of us could help make it up? And we can continue this conversation when you've dried your face."

"I would like that."

What if after the "basement session" Silas find out that now the little thing has a really strong self harm tendencies? Like she start to bite herself, physical abuse herself and not only that! Of course he'll hate it :( he doesn't like when you're hurt, hence why he uses the basement as a punishment and not something physical. He hates to see painful marks on your body. He loves to see you painted in bruises, but not the ones that hurt. He'll make sure to tell you how beautiful and worthy you are so make sure that you know how much you mean to him. He'll dress you up in soft, fluffy clothes until you look like a marshmallow to make sure you won't hurt yourself.

He'd be both frustrated and amused. He would be able to playfight with you and not have to worry about you hurting yourself, but he'd be worried that you would be able to escape him easier now. If you weren't showing any signs of running away, he'd not think much about it and would enjoy getting lessons from you. If you could teach him how to be as good as you, he'd be able to protect himself and you better.

How would Silas react to a reader with a bad light sensitivity disorder? Like irlen syndrome? I have it and it realy makes me feel isalated as no one elce i have met has had it in eny form (and i have move a LOT) if u dont want to do that what about an s/o who has dislexia? Whatever problem you might be facing, whether it be physical or mental, he will be there for you. If you feel that it's hard to use your eyes, he will go to every doctor to try to find some kind of glasses to help you and if there are none, he'll be your eyes. The same with spelling and reading. He'll do everything for you. You don't have to lift a pretty finger :)

⚔️ But now you sound like Bi-Han, all raspy and almost drunk (very bad overall)

⚔️ So he probably expects you to go somewhat nonverbal, cradling you and letting you huff and cry into his chest

⚔️ It's never nice, feeling all icky and bad

⚔️ You'll never have to worry about going through it alone though, he'll become your clingy Koala

⚔️ Kano isn't the best person to help you get better, since he doesn't actually know what he's doing half the time and is completely winging it

Snapdragon - What is the darling’s day-to-day life like? Does it depend on how they’ve been acting, or is it always the same?

Most days are the same. Dimitri can't keep track of you at all times, you're pretty much being babysat by palace staff, guards, or his friends whenever the two of you aren't together. He likes to have you near him, obviously. He loves hearing your opinion on policy decisions and getting your perspective, although he's also incredibly distracted while working so it can be quite isolating despite his overbearing need to keep you where he knows you're safe. As long as you stay inside, you have freedom to do what you like. And it's not as if this is entirely unreasonable, right? You are his queen, he is forging a new status quo after a war. Although he is certainly popular to some, he's also the hated enemy of many. Which is funny because he is perfectly willing to put his neck on the line when it comes to tempting fate, but goddess forbid you ever put yourself in even the slightest bit of danger. For the most part, it's better for everyone to create the illusion of normalcy, even if that comes at the expense of a few not-so-veiled threats from his friends to keep you sticking to the status quo.

The exceptions are days he takes breaks for things like hunting/camping trips or traveling for diplomatic reasons. You're always expected to go with him. Outside of the palace, the leash only gets tighter. It's for your own good, right? Another exception is if you insist on being reckless or argumentative. Dimitri is usually willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. No matter what you say about your own feelings or how he treats you, he's ready to misinterpret it in any way that doesn't involve you wanting out of this toxic relationship and then lock you in your room to ensure you can't do anything dangerous for good measure. Better to beg your forgiveness after the fact than risk your safety. But, again, everybody involved has a vested interest in keeping you in line and maintaining the appearance of normalcy to ensure Dimitri can devote himself to his duty without having to worry about you constantly.

Myrtle - Is this yandere consistently the same during the time they spend with their darling, or does their attitude begin to change? If so, what prompts the change?

Dimitri's behavior can vary greatly, his mood shifting with very little discernable rhyme or reason. For the most part he's very sweet and considerate, albeit with varying degrees of stressed, distracted, and exhausted. Sometimes he's very, very loving and affectionate to the point of needful. It's borderline love-bombing, although in equal measure it's his need for love and affection to be returned so it's not as if it's some calculated ploy to manipulate you. Other times he just wants the companionship and conversation. And then there are days where he's barely communicative at all and, although he still has the obsessive need to keep you at his side and safe, he barely acknowledges you or even acts very brusquely. Dimitri doesn't get upset with you directly (that would ruin the whole idolization thing he's got going on) but he's also not above taking out his frustration on you either. If he does get upset with you, he'll focus that on outside factors. You find a way around his security, it's the fault of lacking safety measures. You're angry with him, it must be something else that is making you upset. What you need is to be loved and placated, or the things that are upsetting you need to be removed.

The biggest change would be the intensity of these shifts in mood, as they'd get worse the more obsessive/possessive he became as the paranoia and adoration deepened. The more he loves you, the more agonizing and terrifying the thought of losing you becomes. It's painful, this hellish state of utter bliss and sinking dread. And it doesn't really matter how much you love him back, or how completely you submit to his paranoid security measures, because ultimately he is still aware of how easily you could be taken from him, how vulnerable you are not only to the rest of the world, but to the part within him that has an insatiable thirst for destruction. So, yes, his attitude would change. It only gets worse.

Kaiba hates it when Atem gives him pet names. Anything of the sort crawled up his spine in a tingle, a little shock to the hesrt that made flips when Atem spoke out one of these "names".

"Oh darling, try not to worry. Mokuba will be just fine," Atem soothed him.

"My love, im sure you'll knock it out of the park," he'll encourage.

Or when things got heated in the bedroom:

"Mmmm...look at you, my incredibly fuckable husband of mine."

It all went under his skin. And he would growl eachtime Atem would call him these names.

Today, however, is different.

Atem didnt call him any names or being his cheerful self. He became stressed, moving franticly, trying to do all things at once.

This is what happends when he said yes to organise a day out with the geeks.

And honestly Kaiba missed the pet names Atem was calling him. It didnt feel like home, out of place and it annoyed him.

"Do I have everything we need?" Kaiba heard Atem mumble to himself.

Running out of patience, Kaiba sighed and slammed his laptop shut.

"Atem."

"Oh! Thats right! I need..."

"Atem." Kaiba growled.

"No they wouldnt like it-"

"ATEM!"

Atem stopped and looked at him like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Yes?"

"Could you for five minutes, take a break? You running around like a headless chook is getting up my nose. Sit down and relax."

Much to Kaiba's dismay, Atem resumed to his stressing about the hang out.

"I cant stop, Seto. Ive got to sort this day outing with everyone. I want to make this perfect. Its important to me."

Moving back and forth, passing by Kaiba, his blue steely eyes intently watching Atem move and getting frustrated by the minute.

It was time to take measures in his own hands.

Kaiba moved swiftly and caught Atem from behind his strong arms wrapped around his small partner, holding him flushed against him.

"You should really take a break. Stressing about this will do you no good, sweetheart."

"Did you just...Kaiba?"

A smirk of victory graced on Kaiba's lips.

"Why dont you take a hot bath, and head to bed? You've been working hard all day, my love. It would be a shame if you burn your pretty heart out, honey."

Now he knew why Atem took so much delight in calling him these names. It got Kaiba excited...

Too excited.

"Or better yet. How about I give you a full body massage? Let me take all your stress away, my gorgeous Pharaoh."

"Se-who are you? What have you done with my husband?"

Kaiba's annoyed expression now showed itself.

"Just get into the bedroom so I can fuck you, for fucks sake."

"There he is."

Kaiba rolled his eyes as he let Atem go.

Kaiba eyes trailed all over Atem's backside, seeing it sway and move.

"You've got ten minutes to strip."

Atem stopped midway upstairs, his smirk now evident and the stress forgotten.

"Oh myyy...How naughty of you, my sexy darling."

And there it is. Making Kaiba's heart jump with joy.

I have seen it! Aged up, as always. Takes place somewhat after the second movie. Similarly to the Tails on, you are a friend of the Wachowski family. If you want a different plot then I can do that. Can be seen as romantic or platonic.

Pairing: Platonic/Romantic

Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Yandere-like behavior, Possessive behavior, Violence, Obsession, Vague if platonic or romantic, Stalking (?), Invasive behavior, Clingy behavior, Jealousy, Implied thoughts of kidnapping.

- Knuckles in the movie is depicted as naive and a loner in the movie from what I remember.

- Like Tails, he is new to the whole friend/crush thing.

- He hates to admit it but he has to ask Sonic for advice on how to interact with anyone let alone you.

- Sonic mostly tries to emphasize the fact he can't be too rough on you, Knuckles is trained in strength, a handshake let alone hug could crush you.

- It's adorable to you when you learn Knuckles is fond over you.

- Following you home and preventing you from leaving the Wachowski house are some ways.

- Tom apologizes frequently to you but it's difficult to correct Knuckles.

- He's so blinded by you that he wants to do anything to get your attention.

- Including 'bad' things if it means you'll look at him.

- He prefers praise, admittedly, yet any attention is fine.

- That would make him come across as clingy, also, due to his past.

- To get him to leave you be, you'll get away with promises to him.

- But he keeps track of them so you can't break them....

- "You promise to come back tomorrow? You won't break your promise, right? It's disloyal if you do...."

- Knuckles would also be aggressive, too.

- He hates other people around you that aren't his family.

- Often making a fit if he sees someone else talking to you.

- He wants to be the one for you!

- He hates the idea of sharing you with anyone else.

- It takes either Sonic or Tails to talk him out of beating that person on the spot.

- He needs to learn he can't just claim you.

- No matter what his instincts tell him, that isn't how it works here.

- "I must fight for (Y/N)!"

- "Yeah, okay big guy. Let's take it down a few notches. You can't just 'fight for someone's honor' here!"

- Knuckles overall doesn't understand that his 'love' for you is obsessive.

- So what if he has to fight a few people or take you by force?

- All that matters to him is he has you with him at all times.

I really like your takes on Don’t worry darling and the misogyny you gave pointed out that exists in the fandom. This person seems connected to the film industry and has been saying that this is being blown way out of proportion due to the media and fans. I think your point that whatever happened behind the scenes, way worse has happened on films all the time and it’s only fandom focus that has made us pay attention here. So much of fans discussion about this whole film, this one part of Harry’s life has seemed crazy and so much terrible thoughts and information being passed around, it’s kind of put me off a lot of blogs that I used to trust, they seem so one sided about the whole thing and unwilling to consider other opinions even when they don’t really know what’s going on. it’s even put me off Harry. I don’t see how he comes out of this okay and that makes me anxious.

What I like about that link is that it emphasises that it's not that big a deal. As well as everything else that I've talked about, one of the things that has most driven me up the wall about fandom responses is how completely out of touch with any of the realities of the movie industry it all is.

Even if everything people said about Olivia was true (and there's no reason to think it is) it'd make her a director who is just about as much of a jerk as your average director (and just as likely to say one thing and do another). If this movie really doesn't work for some people, doesn't quite work for a lot of people, and works for others - that's also really normal for a movie. It's not a sign that anyone is talentless or useless or terrible.

I hope you manage to process your anxiety around Harry. I think it's pretty clear that he'll come out absolutely OK, if with some people thinking he's dumb and others thinking he spat on Chris Pine. One of the things that I think is really useful within fandom is to cultivate being OK that people are going to say negative things about someone you love. I think lots of the worst aspects of fandom come from people leaning into a distressed reaction when a 1D member is criticised, rather than noting it and realising it is not the entire truth o the matter.

Harry will be absolutely fine, even though people make fun of him. But Harry's fineness isn't why I think it's really important that fans resist the temptation to give their distress power. One of the core mechanisms of anxiety is black and white thinking. The feeling that things are all good or all bad - and therefore the suggestion that you (or anyone you identify with) is anything but completely good, must mean that they're all bad - and that is unbearable.

Now people can't just magic away this thought process - it's pretty baked in for a lot of people - often for really good reasons. But what worries me about fandom is that the process of identification an amplification really means people build structures that make them more dependent on anxiety thinking not less.

I wish you heaps of love and support navigating all this anon. It is really difficult and the fact that you're not giving into pathologising others as a way of dealing with distress is really important.

Alright, time for the post that no one asked for! Which ship had more development between Bmblby and Blacksun!

Gonna preface a few things first: I dont particularly ship either ship, so I'm going to do this with as little bias as possible.

This is only over the first 3 volumes, so anything after the fall of Beacon isnt taken into consideration right now.

And the rules are as follows:

First, winking will not be considered. Since people keep saying a wink isnt inherently confirming of a relationship, I'll ignore any winks and judge the scenes based on the content.

Second, scenes will be judged by whether or not you could replace any character and still get the same effect. (the more you can replace, the better in my opinion)

And lastly, since I keep seeing this coming up as well, the only evidence I will consider for absolute confirmation is of any sort of kiss in the first 3 volumes. Although, its going to feel a bit rushed and out of nowhere since the first 3 volumes takes place over 4-6 months at best.

Without further ado... everything will be under the cut.

Starting with Vol 1, after re-watching, there really wasn't any build up to either ship. Which, doesnt surprise me considering that Sun doesnt show up until the end of Vol 1 and the entirety of that volume is centered around introducing the characters, the world in which they live, and just general ideas on what it's like being a huntsman academy. But there are still a few scenes to note in vol 1:

Initiation: Its a quick blur, but you can see Blake rush across the screen once we see Yang walking through the forest. At that point, its safe to assume that Blake had already made her choice on who she wanted, which is further implemented with Blake helping Yang out with an Ursa.

Its safe to assume that between talking with Ruby the night before and seeing hearing how what she thought of Yang didn't quite match her thoughts.

Our next scene comes to Sun and his infamous "slow-mo wink introduction." As per the rules, I'm ignoring the wink and going straight off the content of the scene itself. Which, doesnt leave much. We know he pinpoints Blake as a faunus very quickly and he has some sort of infatuation with her, but the scene alone doesnt give us much.

However, that one does lead into the end of the Vol: Blake runs off from her friends and takes her bow off to finally show us her ears. At which point, Sun comments that he knew she'd look better without it. So that already shows that 1) Sun definitely pinpointed Blake being a faunus early on, and 2) he wanted to talk to her and this provided the right opportunity. Or... so he thought. Especially since the next scene opens up with him half complaining that they've spent 2 days together and all she's done is make small talk.

Which is all pretty on par for Blake. She then spends the next bit talking about her past, how she was pretty much born into the White Fang, stayed with it after it went from peaceful protests to more anger filled, until leaving Adam just a few months ago. After all of this, Sun asks if she's told her friends, to which we can assume she answers no to, you know, since she ran. Overall, it ends up leading Sun into going a bit gung-ho about helping Blake with the White fang.

Overall, Vol 1 did well to start putting together dynamics between Blake and her friends. Sun and Yang both make different impressions on Blake, both of which she ends up seeing as friends... for now.

Vol 2, is a bit of a strange one. Our first introduction to Beacon is Sun basically telling Neptune how cool team RWBY is, emphasizing a bit on Blake. Which does end up bringing us to the meat of the first half of vol 2: Blake worrying over the White Fang. Now, because of this, we dont see any build up between Blake and Sun or Blake and Yang while they go around town to figure out what the White Fang and Torchwick are up to. Sun makes a good point that Blake shouldnt go to the rally alone, and the two pair off while Yang goes to the club with Neptune.

Once the dance arc comes along, that's where things take an interesting turn. Sun immediately asks a sleep deprived Blake to the dance, in probably the most awkward way since he's trying to say the dance is lame, but would be less lame if the two of them went together.

Sun definitely cares about Blake and actively tried to help her calm down a bit. Which, ultimately, she never says no, just that she doesnt have time for a dance. So, I give this one a +1 in points for build up.

Then, we get to the burning the candle speech. Which, a lot of people seem to write off as either pointless or not build up. Personally, it gets a +1 in points on build up for me on this. First, Yang is absolutely worried about her partner, seeing her go down the same path she did when she was much younger. She immediately starts by telling Blake that she doesnt want her to stop, just to slow down and take a breather. And she ultimately makes a strong point: slowing down isnt a luxury, its a necessity.

This also end s up being the first time we see Yang open up and drop the party girl demeanor that she's had. She talks about her mother, someone that she doesnt talk to many people about, and just how much it hurt her to find out that Raven left shortly after she was born.

After an emotionally charged discussion, we finally see the point that Yang had been trying to get Blake to see:

And it finally does work. Blake slows down, takes a rest, and ultimately enjoys herself at the dance. Which, in her own words, she technically goes with Sun.

Overall, the dance arc in general gives great build up to both ships. Which ultimately is the end for the Black Sun build up.

Bmblby doesnt get much more build up in vol 2, the only other notable scene being the campfire where Yang, Blake, and Weiss start opening up a bit more to each other to figure out why each of them are becoming huntresses. Which absolutely gives a bit more foundation to the friendships they have.

Vol 3 ends up having most of the build up between Blake and Yang. The first major scene being after Yang was disqualified for breaking Mercury's leg. When Yang finally asked her team if they trust her, Blake is the only one who doesnt immediately say yes, instead, saying she wants to. Leading us to this face from Yang:

(yes, I know, captions are a bit off, deal with it.)

But Yang ends up being distressed by her own partner saying that she wants to trust, but doesnt yet. Blake ultimately ends up opening up about Adam, telling us how she used to trust him... until accidents started piling up. Eventually, she looks at Yang and asks her to look her in the eye and tell her she didnt do anything wrong. When Yang does, Blake allows herself to trust Yang.

Which then brings us to the biggest piece of buildup between the two: Adam. When Adam shows up, he starts using words like "my darling", hammering in that at one point, the two had something going on. He decides immediately he wants to hurt Blake just like she hurt him by leaving. But what really hammers in Blake's feelings for Yang, is the fear she had on her face when she heard Yang's voice not so far away... and right where Adam can hear her. It doesnt take long for Adam to look down at Blake, notice the fear, and then look in the direction of Yang, ultimately stating that he'll destroy everything Blake loves, starting with her.

Now, I know a lot of people will dismiss that as "it could've been anyone. If Sun had shown up, it would've been the same." And honestly, yes, it would've. This moment here is what solidifies who Blake ultimately cares about. Had it been Sun to come around, no doubt she'd show the same fear. But it wasnt him. Instead, it was Yang, who immediately found Weiss and asked where Blake had gone. And we further see her feelings for Yang cemented by the way she blames herself that Yang got hurt. The way she stays close, gently reaches for Yang's hand, the emotion of the entire scene after they get to safety.

Sun does ultimately care about Blake, and helps out where he can, but at least in vol 3, he had his own priorities of making sure everyone could make it to safety.

TL;DR: Both ships had a bit of build up in vol 2 and 3, although, the build up that Bmblby had outweighs the buildup that Blacksun has. Blake definitely had feelings for both, but ultimately, it took until Adam was a threat for her to realize the feelings that she had for Yang, and even then, she still wasnt entirely sure what they were until later in the series. At this point, the only reason anyone can say that Bmblby has little build up is due to either a higher bar for f/f ships (because, lets face it, everyone takes the wink from vol 1 as absolute confirmation for blacksun because its m/f) or they continue to deny that sometimes, there are multiple ways to show buildup between two people for a relationship and the slowburn route usually takes an emotional route over a physical route. And look, Blake has two hands. Take that as you will.
