Mogwai - Hunted By A Freak

'from the gyrating hips of elvis through to the spit of the sex pistols, rock musicians have always taken great pleasure in outraging, offending and just plain annoying as many people as possible. but with rock now well and truly into middle age, it has become harder to get shocked by anything that musicians do. or more importantly, by anything that any musician plays. so there's something refreshing about knowing that a few bands still have the power to make music that can surprise, upset and disturb.
on their recent uk tour playing support to the manic street preachers, scottish band mogwai managed to do all three. "we saw girls crying, people begging the bouncers for earplugs, folk scrambling for exits," laughs stuart braithwaite, guitarist and, for want of a better word, frontman for the band. "there was this group of fans following the manics around for every gig, and this one girl's face just got longer and longer every night we played. it was pretty funny."
"yeah, it's really good fun knowing you're upsetting so many people," agrees bassist dominic aitchison. "it was such a hilarious 10 days, we had such a great time. there were people there who were really into us, but there were others who just didn't understand us at all. you could tell by the look on their faces they were waiting for the lyrics to come in - which obviously never happens..."'
"i think most people are not used to having no lyrics to focus on," says stuart. "lyrics are a real comfort to some people. i guess they like to sing along and when they can't do that with us they can get a bit upset."
~ from marcus dunk's 1999 interview with scottish 'post-rock' band mogwai

#Pixy la ink series#
Charlie Corwin is the executive producer for Original Media. Pamela Deutsch is the executive producer for TLC. LA INK is produced by Original Media for TLC. These days, when not working at the shop she is a freelance make up artist. Before moving to LA four years ago, Pixie was a body piercer at atattoo shop in Minnesota. The former Fear Factor game show winner is a Pescatarian (vegetarian who eats fish), loves animals and lives in Los Angeles with her two pitbulls, Cup Cake and Chopper, and her cat, Monkey. Judging by the elaborate, colorful tattoos of cupcakes, Care Bears and other assorted happy visions, and intense body modifications that adorn her body, Pixie has a zest for life. LA INK shop manager, Pixie loves to surround herself with bright, colorful, yummy things. When not tattooing or spending time with her daughter, Hannah enjoys painting, knitting, boxing and traveling. A single mom, Hannah worked two and three jobs while apprenticing just to support her daughter. Specializing in bold, colorful, illustrative works including life-like portraits, pin-ups and classic Americana, Hannah enjoys a technical challenge in the tattoos she creates. Hannah Aitchison has been tattooing for over a decade. Kim now splits her time between LA and Chicago but always has her black Persian cat, Geezer with her. Tattooing professionally for 16 years, Kim first got her start in her native Cleveland, moving to Chicago and opening her first shop a few years later. Allegorical and illustrative works that express movement and flow dominate Kims portfolio. In his spare time, this married father of three enjoys playing the drums.Ī fanatical yoga practitioner, tattoo artist Kim Saigh takes a lot of the teachings of the discipline and puts it into her art. He has an extensive client list, including celebrities like James Hettfield from Metallica, Jason Giambi of the NY Yankees and Jesse James. A true master, Corey is known for his freehand work, drawing the image directly onto the skin, foregoing any stencil. He specializes in black & gray portraits and dragons that merge the traditional and classic styles with his own. Tattooing for over 25 years, this California native has inked people all around the world from Japan and Amsterdam to Hawaii and Paris. Joining Kat at her new shop is Corey Miller, a legend in the industry. In addition, many celebrities, athletes and entertainers seek out her services such as Jackass Bam Margera Steve-O and Ryan Dunn Slayer My Chemical Romance Guns N Roses Green Day The Mars Volta Eve and Mira Sorvino.
#Pixy la ink professional#
In more than a decade of being a professional tattoo artist she has amassed a devout following including over 1,372,000 friends on her page and thousands more checking her out at TLC.com/LA-Ink. Kat specializes in fine-line, black & gray style life-like portraits. TLCs season two finale, which aired on May 8th was watched by over 3,000,000 people*. Kat Von D was one of the featured artists on the first two seasons of MIAMI INK, which has traveled the globe, airing in many countries including Japan, Australia, Brazil and England. Now, after leaving Miami for her home-town of LA, she is realizing a dream by opening up her first business. Throughout her 11-year career, Kat has worked alongside men, not only surviving, but thriving.
#Pixy la ink series#
Through TLCs hit series MIAMI INK, artist Kat Von D tattooed her way onto the worlds stage, becoming one of the most talked about and sought after tattoo artists on the planet. Together, the cast of LA INK will share their lives showing the culture and stories behind tattoos. They set their own schedule, pick their clients, sleep late and party all night long. Following the lead set by their boss, Kat Von D, these tattoo artists ( and shop manager) play by their own rules and live a fast-paced, rebel lifestyle. Filled with gorgeous black and white photography and memorabilia signed by legendary rock artists and professional athletes, LA INK has a glam-rock feel that is inviting to celebrities, athletes, rockers and regular people alike. The shop, which Kat recently opened in Hollywood, will have a distinct rock-n-roll flavor reflecting the owners personal style. With the majority of the artists in the shop being woman, LA INK shows that great art shares no gender bias. The shop manager holding everything together is Kats good friend, Pixie. Joining shop owner Kat Von D at LA INK are renowned tattoo artists Kim Saigh, Hannah Aitchison and Kats mentor, Corey Miller. In TLCs new series LA INK (premiered Tuesday, August 7th at 10 PM ET/PT), the glass ceiling is shattered as three of the most respected female tattoo artists, along with one legendary male artist, come together to work at the newest and hottest tattoo shop in LA. (Silver Spring, MD) For centuries the tattoo industry has been dominated by men.

Mogwai - Dry Fantasy (from As The Love Continues)
Really loving the new Mogwai album. This one in particular has grown on
me with it’s cinematic ambient sound (mix of traditional instruments and
those amazing keyboard electronics). These guys have always been one
of my go-tos for amazing instrumentals. Love it!

Mogwai - Performance & Interview (Live on KEXP at Home)
One of my favourite Scottish bands Mogwai perform four live songs for this KEXP at Home session. The interview between Mogwai frontman Stuart Braithwaite and KEXP DJ Morgan is also great listening.
The four songs performed by Mogwai live are Ceiling Granny, Dry Fantasy & Ritchie Sacramento from the new album As the Love Continues, which was released on the 19th February 2021 and How to be a Werewolf from their 2011 album Hardcore Will Never Die, but You Will.
This session was filmed and recorded at Tramway, Glasgow and was directed by Antony Crook. The band were Dominic Aitchison, Barry Burns, Martin Bulloch, Stuart Braithwaite & Alex Mackay.

After two very successful annual events, the classic rock extravaganza known as the Arroyo Seco Festival was put on hiatus this year. The two-day festival was a glamorous offshoot of the most prominent American music event, Coachella. While Coachella continues to cater to an ever-younger audience, Arroyo Seco was targeting a more mature audience. The event took place mainly on a golf course and public park adjacent to the Rose Bowl. On August 31, The iconic New Wave rockers, The Cure took over the same venue for a one-day celebration of music mostly from the Goth genre. The show was the brainchild of The Cure’s creator Robert Smith. He handpicked the nine opening acts for a unique line up of bands all with immense musical talent and original creativity.
The Saturday show took place on a blistering summer day with temperatures reaching near triple digits. The entrance to the festival was a struggle for some 25,000 music fans waiting in lines on the hot pavement of the parking lot for over an hour to pass through security checks. But once inside music fans were treated to a serene setting across the massive festival grounds, with grassy rolling hills. The Pasadena Daydream festival took advantage of two of the three-stage areas of Arroyo Seco festival, one a large tent and the other a large outdoor stage. Food and beverage vendors were stacked in strategic areas across the vast green fields. A pond with a water fountain stood at one end of the park. In the far corner, a cooling area with giant fans and misters helped beat the heat for fans lounging in soft inflatable furniture. The festival grounds were so immense that some concertgoers could barely see the stage from where they planted their blankets. Many concertgoers opted to take advantage of strategically cooler areas with groves of shady trees rather than be closer to the stages. But the majority of the crowd pressed closer to the two stages as the day wore on.

The Scottish group, The Twilight Sad, was the first to take the outside Oaks stage. The post-punk/indie rock band has been producing original music for more than ten years. The band features lead singer James Graham, Andy MacFarlane on guitar, Johnny Docherty on bass, Brendan Smith on keyboards and Sebastien Schultz on drums. Graham seemed to be channeling the late Ian Curtis from Joy Division during his performance. The Goth punk band was well received by the early-bird crowd singed by the early afternoon sun. Unfornatanely most of their set was plagued by a failing PA system that kept cutting out. But the band soldiered on, and luckily the technical issues were solved by the time the next group, Mogwai took the stage.
Mogwai is also a Scottish band formed a decade earlier than The Twilight Sad, back in 1995. The band features lead singer and guitarist Stuart Braithwaite, Barry Burns on guitar, piano, synthesizer and backing vocals, Dominic Aitchison on bass and Martin Bulloch on drums. Braithwaite led the band in 45 minutes of compelling moody jam band material. The group ended their set with their 1997 classic jam song. “Mogwai Fear Satan.”

Over on the Willow stage, a string of female vocalists brought a more demure, all be it Goth inspired, mood to the tented venue. The darker atmosphere seemed to fit the mood of many in the crowd in full Goth regalia, from thick black clothing to Kabuki style makeup. Kælan Mikla, a three-piece punk/no-wave band from Reykjavík Iceland, opened with a short, moody set. The group consists of three girls who perform their own poetry and have been described as an avant-garde, fresh breeze into the Icelandic music scene. The prodding Goth sound would be a good soundtrack for a Game of Thrones Episode. Emma Ruth Rundle, an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and visual artist based in Louisville, Kentucky, followed with another short, moody set, a bit more folk-inspired. Chelsea Joy Wolfe, an American singer-songwriter and musician, followed with another 30-minute set. The California native led her band blending elements of gothic rock, doom metal, and folk music into a crowd-pleasing cocktail.

Over on the Oak stage, the most massive crowd of the day had gathered in the still scorching sun for a searing set of music by full metal rockers the Deftones. The aptly named California band is well known for its earsplitting manic live performances that incite mass stage diving and mosh pit madness. Singer Chino Moreno impishly whipped the crowd into a sweltering frenzy. Moreno whirled about the stage as the rest of the band played like madmen on ear-shattering tunes like “Knife Party” and “Hole in the Earth.” The Sacramento band was well received by the Southern California crowd that had swelled massively by the time the band ended their hour-long musical assault.
Two more great sets took place over in the Willows tent, featuring the Welsh band The Joy Formidable and the Rhode Island veteran rockers Throwing Muses. Unfortunately, most people in the vast audience missed their sets as they crowded the MainStage and didn’t want to lose their place.
Black Francis (Frank Black) has been leading the Boston based Pixies as an alternative band since 1986 with punk-inspired rock music that sounded like Grunge before Grunge rock was a musical genre. The singer guiltiest seemed to be reveling in the moment during his 75 minute set in Pasadena. As the massive crowd got a second wind in the setting sun, the band tore through some of their well known, classics eliciting an occasional sing-along. Songs like “Bone Machine,” and “Caribou,” inspired the sweaty crowd to respond emphatically. The bands cover of Jesus And Mary Chain’s ”Head On,” seemed to fit the festival perfectly.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
After the Pixies set no one left the front of the stage during the hour-long set change. Much of the crowd began to press in more tightly. A man frantically searched for his wife after he went to the restroom. A couple from Mexico city seemed to be lifted off their feet as they were swept forward in the crowd. “We are closer than we were in Columbia,” the man exclaimed. Everyone began to test cell phones to capture the moments. As massive smoke machines began to eclipse the stage in fog, a euphoria seemed to pass over the exhausted crowd. The band emerged eliciting screams from the crowd pushing ever closer to the stage. Then out of the thick fog, Robert Smith emerged onto the stage like a Gothic deity, and a thunderous roar echoed from the massive gathering.
The English band The Cure are probably best known for their string of New Wave hits in the ’80s, but the band was really on the forefront of the Gothic rock genre even before that. Charismatic lead singer and guitarist Robert Smith, the mastermind of the Cure, looks much the same at 60 as he did in the ’80s, resembling a Gothic Teddy Bear. The beloved singer thankfully has maintained surprisingly eloquent vocal skills throughout his career. While the band plays hit songs that is not what distinguishes their live shows from other groups in their genre. The band under Smith’s tutelage is first and foremost a jam band. The groups live performances are legendary, and they are simply the best live band of their musical genre. The two and a half-hour show in Pasadena was a relatively short one for the group known for their marathon performances. But they managed to squeeze a wealth of music including 27 songs, into the phenomenal set. The band can seemingly take a song in any direction they fancy on Smiths whim. The group can jam a song like the epic “ A Forest” for 30 minutes or more. But they can also play a perfunctory version like at the Santa Barbara Bowl in the last millennium. At that three hour-plus show the band performed past the venue’s curfew and played a mini two-minute version of “ A Forest” as their final encore before being cut off. The Pasadena show saw about an 8-minute version of the moody jam song.

The current line up of the Cure features a powerhouse quartet of rockers backing up Smith. American guitarist Reeves Gabrels has played with the band since 2012. He was David Bowie’s former guitarist in the band Tin Machine. He brought relentless lead guitar riffs to the armada of jam songs. Animated bassist Simon Gallup has been bringing heart-thumping rhythms to the band on and off since 1979. Roger O’Donnell has played keyboards with the band on and off since 1987 and brought magical sounds to the Saturday show. Drummer Jason Cooper joined the group in 1995.
The Pasadena show followed the formula set in London by the band last year during their 40th Anniversary tour by playing most of their 1989 Disintegration album as the core of their show. The band opened with “Plainsong” before fading into a moody “Pictures of You.” Smith seemed to be enjoying the euphoric mood in the crowd. He would walk to the edges of the stage between songs smiling devilishly. The crowd would surge forward, chanting his name. The enchanting singer also played guitar frequently and even a penny whistle at one point. The band continued mixing deep cuts with some of their biggest hits including,
“High,” “Lovesong,” “In Between Days” and “Just Like Heaven.” Bassist Gallup shined on a moody jam of “Fascination Street.” Smith seemed especially giddy while belting out “Friday I’m in Love.” Spirited versions of “Close to Me” and “Why Can’t I Be You?” followed. An obviously elated Smith ended the set by saying, “It’s been the best day of the summer.” Then the band launched into a sing-along crowd-pleasing rendition of “Boys Don’t Cry.”
The Cure Brings a Festival of Goth to California After two very successful annual events, the classic rock extravaganza known as the Arroyo Seco Festival was put on hiatus this year.

WWE Raw - March 18, 2019: Highlights and Review
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman open the show
This week WWE Raw got opened with a promoas usual. What wasn't usual though, was that Brock Lesnar made an appearance on Raw after god knows how long. He got booed by the Chicago crowd as he made his way down the ring.
Heyman starts the promo with his usual schtick introducing Brock Lesnar to us. He challenged the statements made by Rollins the previous week. He said Brock Lesnar defeated all the man that Rollins said he had a hard time with. In the end, he was the victor against Styles, Bryan and Balor. He hyped the main event of the show saying that what was Rollins thinking challenging a career killer like Drew McIntyre for a match days before his match with Brock Lesnar.
This brings out McIntyre who is happy that he is finally getting the respect that he deserves. McIntyre suggests to Heyman that he must find another opponent for Brock because after McIntyre is done brutalizing Rollins, he won't make it to WrestleMania.
Seth Rollins comes from behind and hit McIntyre with chair shots on the back. He looks at Brock and heads towards the ring with the chair in his hands. Lesnar just jumps out and leaves.
This was a fine segment. It is always nice to see both the competitors hyping up their match instead of the same promo by only one of them. Also did a decent job to hype the audience for the main event of the show.
Rating: 3.5/5
Finn Balor is out next. He will be in a tag team match with a mystery partner against Lashley and Rush.
Blair grabs a mic and said that he wasn't a lucky Irish last week when he lost his Intercontinental championship match to Bobby Lashley. He said he wouldn't be a former champion for too long though.
Lashley and Rush interrupt. Lashley poses with the title. Balor said he will get his hands on the title very soon. And his partner will get his hands on both them. Brain Strowman us revealed as Balor's tag team partner
Finn Balor and Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush
Lashley and Rush dominate Balor. Balor gets very little offence in the match. The heels tried to avoid Baloe tagging in Strowman into the match. Strowman finally gets in the ring with Rush. He throws Rush across the ring before stomping him on the chest. Rush almost made a comeback when Lashley hit a spear on Strowman. But Braun kicks out after a frog splash attempt from Lio.
Rush tried to run away but he is caught by Balor. Balor got shoulder tackled by Lashley, who got run over by Braun. Braun throws Rush into the ring for a chokeslam and then a running powerslam for the win.
Winner: Finn Balor and Braun Strowman
I am not that much invested in the IC title storyline. The match was fine. They are still booking Lashley to be strong. Balor barely got any offence in the match which is not great.
Rating: 2/5
Backstage, Ronda Rousey is walking into the arena with her husband, Travis Browne. They walk into the referee John Cone who told Ronda that she is late. He also told her that in addition to the fine on Ronda, they have also increased security. Rousey just ignores and walks away.
A Moment of Bliss w/ Elias
Bliss hyped herself up as a great talk show host. She said she has inspired Lily Singh to be a talk show host before she introduces Elias.
Elias comes out playing his guitar. He announces that he will be the headlining musical act at WrestleMania. He made some field goal reference which I didn't get. But the Chicago crowd did who booed him. He is talking about how if someone interrupts him at Mania he will... But before he can say anything else he is interrupted by the No way Jose's conga line led by Otus and Tucker. One of the members hit Elias and it was revealed that No way Jose was an intruder in his own conga line. Okay...
No way Jose gets into the ring for a match with Elias.
Elias vs No Way Jose
Some back and forth action in the match. The crowd was dead for this one. The conga line tried to rally the crowd chanting his name but no one else made a sound in the arena. The finish came when Elias hit Jose with an elbow drop led by the drift away.
Winner: Elias
I guess this is a feud now. No one is interested in it but it is a feud. The match in itself was nothing special.
Rating: 1/5
Kurt Angle announces his WrestleMania opponent
Kurt Angle reminded us that he will have his farewell match at WrestleMania. He also said that his farewell tour will continue tonight. A "Thank You Kurt" chants by the crowd to which Kurt thanked the crowd back.
He went on to thank the McMahon family to allow him to choose his WrestleMania opponent. And he announced that he will face the man who made his life living hell when he was WWE Raw General Manager. And that man is... BARON CORBIN. The crowd booed hearing his name. He said he will make Corbin tap out at Mania. Oh it's true... It's damn true.
I will give this announcement and the following match separate rating. With all the dream matches that you could have had, with the roster depth that you had to choose an opponent for Kurt for his last match. They seriously went for Baron Corbin?! This is furious. The crowd booed not because he is a great heel but because we don't want to see this match. When Kurt said those line, that felt so scripted and badly acted too.
Rating: 0.5/5
Kurt Angle vs Chad Gable
Gable shaped Angle's hand and said that Angle is his hero. They did some technical wrestling in the ring. Kurt delivered a belly to belly suplex to Gable. Angle tried to go for the Angle Lock but Gable gets out and rolls him up for two.
Kurt tried to hit three German suplexes but Gable got out of the second one and locks in Angle lock which got booed by the crowd. Angle gets out and tried to go for Angle Slam, Gable countered with a DDT. Gable went on the top rope for a moonsault. Angle moved out if the way and applies Angle Lock. Gable tries to fight but taps out.
Winner via submission: Kurt Angle
I will take this match over Angle vs Corbin at any damn time. This was not a great match. Just an average match with some spots. But still, Gable is a great wrestler and deserves much better.
Rating: 2.5/5
Corbin comes out in a sea of boos by the crowd after the match. He said he will humiliate him in his last match. The crowd chanted for Cena. And I also wanted Cena to come out, but he is nowhere to be seen.
In-ring interview with WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Boss & Hug connection
Before the segment, Baron Corbin is talking to The Revival backstage. He is interrupted by Apollo Crews who challenged him for a match later tonight. He said that no one likes him to which he replied that The revival likes him. Revival just walked off saying "Hell no!"
Carly Caruso is in the ring to interview Boss & Hug. She mentions that IIconics think that Banks and Bayley are ducking them by not appearing on SmackDown. Bailey announces that they will fight anyone. That's why they will appear on SmackDown tomorrow night and It'll be iconic, mocking the IIconic's pose.
Natalya and Beth Phoenix interrupts them and gets in the ring. Beth said that Nia and Tamina ignited the fire inside her and now she is ready to step out of retirement to fight for the one thing that she has never held - The women's tag titles.
Bailey and Banks cut a bit heelish promo on their opponents. They said that Competition is now evolved and Beth should take more time to prepare. This got heated and led to a mild brawl between the teams.
Sasha Banks w/ Bayley vs Natalya w/ Beth Phoenix
This was a short match. Both the women hit some of their signature moves. Banks is out recovering after a discus clothesline from Natalya.
Nia Jac comes out on the stage. Nia mocks Beth and said she had accomplished more in her 3 years than Beth ever did in her career.. This was all a distraction as Tamina comes out from the crowd and throws Beth to the post before super-kicking Baykey and Banks to end the match.
Winner by Disqualification: Sasha Banks
Tamina ran away from Natalya back to Nia. They both laughed on top of the stage.
Fine segment Beth Phoenix stepping out of retirement didn't feel like a big thing as we all saw it coming. The match was nothing. This was just to build a multi-team match at Mania, I believe.
Rating: 2/5
Mojo Rawley is talking with himself in the mirror. I can't recall what he said. But I don't think it matters either.
Ricochet vs Jinder Mahal w/ Singh Brothers
Mahal dominated some of the match with chin locks and with the help of Singh Brothers. Ricochet made a comeback later he hit a running shooting star press. Mahal was pulled out by the Singhs. Ricochet got everyone with a dive on the outside. He throws Mahal in the ring and hit 630 for the win.
Winner: Ricochet
I hope this is not a feud. If it is it will be a lacking one. You can't even say it was a squash match as Mahal did get some offence in it. It was just there to showcase Ricochet's moves.
Rating: 2/5
It was announced that Sue Aitchison will receive the warrior award at the Hall of Fame Ceremony.
WWE Raw Women's Championship Match: Ronda Rousey (c) vs Dana Brooke
Brooke had a backstage interview with Charly, who said that Ronda beat the likes of Becky and Charlotte and she is... Dana get what she meant and said that she might not be better but she needs to be better than Ronda for three seconds.
The match starts. Dana blocked on a kick from Ronda but she caught Brooke with a jumping knee. She hit some more knees before applying an armbar for the win.
Winner via Submission and still Raw Women's Champion: Ronda Rousey
Rousey didn't let go of the armbar even after the bell rang. Dana was shouting in pain. She finally let go as a ref ran down the ring. She pushed him away and more security ran down. Ronda went to kiss her husband in the front row and slapped a security guy down. Travis pulled her in the crowd and calmed her down to walk away with her.
This was more of a segment after the match than the match itself. I didn't mind the badass Ronda it is always good. I hope she just does it without reminding us that wrestling us scripted off TV. Loved how she just squashed Dana too.
Rating: 3/5
Baron Corbin vs Apollo Crews
Apollo dodged a slide out clothesline from Corbin. Corbin did his deadly move - the chin lock. He also hit his secondary moves like Deep Six but Crews kicked out. The crowd was chanting for Cena. Corbin went for end of days but Crews countered into a roll up for the win.
Winner: Apollo Crews
Not bothered by this match if they are working as they are doing a great job as I was bored by this match and hated them for this. Angle joined Crews on top of the ramp.
Rating: 1/5
Interview with Batista via Satellite
Michael Cole is conducting the interview with Batista who is live from Tampa, Florida. Barista said that he just doesn't like Triple H and he never did. Cole asks if it goes back to their Evolution days. He said it goes way beyond than that. He said Triple H just uses people to make him look good. Whether it was DX or Evolution.
Cole asked why he quit in 2010. Barista replies he didn't quit. He was not getting opportunities that he deserved by his Boss Triple H. That's why he quit. He made a huge name for himself outside of WWE after that and become famous. He just hopes that Vince McMahon fires Triple H and end his professional career. At WrestleMania, he will end his in-ring career. He announced the interview to be over and demanded that camera crew got out.
This was a great promo by Batista. He has just one goal and that is to end Triple H's career at Mania
Rating: 3.5/5
Brain Strowman announced that he will be in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in a backstage interview.
Drew McIntyre comes out to cut a promo before his match against Rollins. He said that he wants to talk to Joe the man, not Roman Reign. Joe, the father and the husband. He challenged him for a match at WrestleMania and said he may have been able to beat leukaemia but he won't be able to beat him.
Rollins and McIntyre brawls midway in through the ramp as the match is going to start next.
Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins
There was action all around. Rollins avoided getting thrown to the steel steps and hits a moonsault, but Drew moved out if the way. McIntyre was going for a powerbomb in tge ring but Rollins countered with a hurricanrana.
Rollins tried to go for a suicide dive on Drew but Drew caught him and throw him into the barricade. Later Rollins did two consecutive suicide dives on McIntyre and even hit him with his Superplex into a falcon arrow for a near fall. Rollins stomps his feet on the ring calling for the curb stomp. Before he could hit it Lesnar music hits and he comes out with Heyman to distract Rollins. As Rollins turns around to take care of Drew he ran straight into a Claymore.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
This was by far the best match on the show storyline wise as well as wrestling wise. I didn't like the booking though. You could have had Lesnar just laying out Rollins to end it a DQ or some way. I know you want to build Drew up for Reigns but you gotta build Rollins up as well.
Rating: 3.5/5
This week's WWE Raw was very boring and frustrating tbh. It felt like a lot of fillers and boring matches. The bits I liked were the opening segment, Batista's promo and the main event. The rest was very poor.
WWE Raw Rating: 2/5

Taylor Swift / Camila Cabello / Charli XCX Rogers Centre, Toronto ON, Aug 3
Few know what it's like to be Taylor Swift. As a young, global female superstar her truth is pretty damn singular. So it's hard to say how justified Swift, who once proudly sang of shaking off the haters, is in building a record cycle and tour around a supposedly tarnished reputation. Sure, she's taken some image-busting lumps of late, but after more than a decade in the game isn't that par for the course? The Toronto stop of her massive "Reputation Stadium Tour" gave few clues — in fact, it only complicated matters, as Swift asked her audience to reconcile her persecution complex with the supreme adulation of 50,000 fans.
Regardless, she sure knows how to pick opening acts. Where Swift holds down pop's current mainstream centre, Camila Cabello represents its R&B cousin while Charli XCX, born Charlotte Aitchison, is out on the fringes, forging its future.
Given a thankless 7:15 pm time slot, Aitchison leaned hard on established hits, frontloading her set with "Boom Clap" and "I Love It," which she co-wrote with Icona Pop, while skipping over much of the more experimental (and in my opinion, better) AG Cook-produced material she's been dropping over the past 18 months.
Cabello too leaned hard on her hits during her short set, opening with "Never Be the Same" and closing with monster jam "Havana." Yet Aitchison appeared more ready for a Swift-sized crowd, owning the sprawling stage and crowd at every angle.
Swift finally emerged from the tip of the stage's outward facing "V" shaped screen to a rapturous reception. She — and the screen, which towered over everything — would be reconfigured many times over throughout the two-hour, tightly choreographed set. Opener "...Ready For It" set the tone: Reputation, and consequently her reputation, would be the night's centrepieces.
"I Did Something Bad" and the bouncy "Gorgeous" followed, with Swift backed by a team of dancers and an ever-evolving visual presentation. She finally unveiled her band for a medley of "Style," "Love Story" and "You Belong To Me," one of the few times she'd reach back past 1989 in her catalogue. Now 28 years old, it's hard to fault Swift for preferring not to revisit her teenaged emotions. But "Love Story" in particular evoked a simpler time in Swift's life that she may have moved past, even if the audience, many of whom have literally grown up on her music, haven't.
"Look What You Made Me Do" introduced the snake theme that would run throughout the show — she even sang part of "Bad Blood" while suspended over the audience in a snake's-rib-cage-shaped gondola while giant inflatable serpents flanked the two mini satellite stages that were placed midway through the crowd. From these she brought Cabello and Aitchison back for a run through "Shake It Off," then, moving from one satellite to the other, performed "Style" on her own.
The show's production is an impressive spectacle that reaffirms Swift's status as one of music's dominant figures. But it sees the star dancing and moving in sync with her visuals far more than it does playing an instrument and indulging her muse. Even her between song monologues felt timed and rehearsed. Swift is a naturally gifted singer, something that often gets lost when talking about her. It becomes readily apparent when you see her perform and musician and the pair of acoustic numbers, including a stripped-down version of "Out of the Woods," really showcased that, as did her solo piano turn on "Long Live" and Reputation highlight "New Years Day." It's easy to get swept up in the show around her — fireworks, digital screens, dancers, inflatable reptiles — but a looser production that introduced the possibility of a bit more musical serendipity would go a long way.
But this is where Swift manages to set herself apart from so many of her peers. The bond she shares with her fans works two ways: even as she dug out old hits to please loyal fans, the crowd happily gobbled up the new ones and their more complex themes and presentations. It's weird to see an entire stadium of fans embrace a show whose central theme is that the world is out to get you. In spite of the massive scale on which she's working, Swift manages to obscure that negativity and connect.
With many in attendance wearing outfits specially bedazzled for the show, holding elaborate, homemade signs, they sang along with and hung on her every word. She's essentially forged a safe space for her and her #Swifties. That she cuts through the spectacle and manages to connect is a testament to the bond she's created with her fans.
"Reputation" the tour is as oblique as Reputation the album in terms of what exactly it was that tarnished Swift's character so badly. But it captures the signer's state of mind while showcasing and deepening the relationship between her and her fans.
