Okay so the trailer looks great and all but one thing is bugging me...
The implication that percy uses riptide in his fight against the minotaur. Maybe thats just how the trailer made it seem and thats not how its gonna go but I did not like that. The best part about that scene is that percy fights the minotaur with just his hands and his wits. And thats what makes his defeat of the creature so amazing and shocking to everyone around not only did he defeat the minotaur but he did it with NO weapons! He killed the thing with its own horn! He didnt have a sword to go to battle with, he was just a scared kid and he won! I feel like that detail plays such a big roll in showing how resourceful and smart Percy is even when he didnt know what was going on. I really don’t want that moment to be changed.

One thing that bothers me a lot (and it probably shouldn't) is how Rook refers to Vil. He calls him Roi de Poison, which means King of Poison. But like, Vil's character is based on the evil queen from Snow White. And so is his dorm. So shouldn't Rook be calling him Reine de Poison (Queen of Poison)? Riddle is the Queen of Hearts. That's what he's referred to as. So why is Vil different? He's the queen. That's the point. Am I going insane?

The way people just casually film random strangers and post it on the internet like it's nothing is so dystopian to me. Like no matter where you go, there's always the chance that someone will film you just walking around, or hanging out with your husband or reading a book, or whatever, someone will just film you, put some fucking song over it with a voice over or some text like "me and who in twenty years" or "oh my god their so fine" and post it on their tiktok, like your privacy and consent means nothing. It pisses me off to no end and I'm just ranting now, sorry.

Why do you italicize your dialogue? I personally find it a little hard to read that way. Just wondering if there was a purpose?
There is no method to my madness. Thank you for the ask, have a pleasant day 😉

Um actually I have something more to say about Kabru and Mithrun’s similarities and relationship.
I think a lot abt how it’s shown a few times how elven culture relies heavily on non-natural ways of doing things, and it’s interesting especially how like our main cast repeats multiple times the three steps to living a long and healthy life. Meanwhile the canaries, the elves, don’t necessarily recognize that stuff as important as it is. I think specifically of the example of Mithrun explaining to Kabru that he has to have medication or a spell otherwise he can’t sleep, to which Kabru tucks him in and gives him a massage which knocks him out cold. His dependency on other methods to fight off insomnia were kinda just in his head, he hadn’t tried anything else. I mean prior to joining the canaries he was fully restrained 90% of the time so ofc a servant would just come in and place a spell for him to sleep every night. And he was like that for years. And then Cithis just replaced all his caretaker servants, then it became her job to make sure he took a pill or listened to her bells every night. I think there’s something there about how there’s a list of stuff Mithrun wasn’t allowed to be around and when he gets separated from the canaries he encounters all of that since Kabru doesn’t know to “protect” Mithrun or restrain him so severely. And it’s interesting because Mithrun doesn’t even seem to have issues with the things, like ofc top on the list was he wasn’t supposed to see goats or sheep. One of the first things he and Kabru eat is barometz. Its something to me that Kabru, who has also suffered so much, takes Mithrun into this dungeon and he has to face head on what’s been bothering him, he has to look his trauma in the eyes. And eat it. He cannot move on until he sees it, understands it, and finally starts talking about himself (“the last desire I had left wasn’t revenge, I wanted the demon to finish me off” “I was scraps left on the plate […] I guess vegetable scraps have their uses too”)
It just seems to me like a more vague and overarching way we see the elven cultural mindset hold him back from properly healing, I don’t think Kabru knew what he was doing at all but the fact of the matter is no one was filtering Mithrun’s view of the world anymore. And while Mithrun believed that didn’t matter to him, nothing mattered, it still made a difference. He was still on the path to moving on, and properly healing, even though he didn’t quite recognize that.

Okay but like, what's up with the running gag of confusing french and italian in Goncharov's return?
It's not that type of movie. Who even thought of that.
I admit it was funny, and I really, really needed it at certain points, but still.

i think it's so interesting how people have just decided fearne has serious feelings for certain characters just because They ship it when i have yet to see fearne give any sort of hint to that in the game?? NOW if we're talking about people fearne treats differently/cares for differently, i think we should have a discussion on how gentle fearne is with imogen temult i think we should talk about fearne screaming imogen's name, fearne tying her and laudna's ribbons around imogen's wrist, fearne being so opposed to imogen giving in to the storm because she doesn't want to lose her. I think we should Discuss That.

i think its weird that i have to make this disclaimer but the internet is crazy so wtvr,, anyway,,
if i say i dont like something, that doesnt mean "that thing is bad and nobody should post it.."
i swear literally every time i even mention that i dislike something, people will go "wow does that mean u fucking hate me cuz i post that thing? ur a fucking stupid bitch and all ur opinions r wrong" LIKE ?? er.. no. just because i say i dont like certain characterizations of certain characters (the saiki k fandom is CRAZY about this cuz i can state an opinion on literally any character and a group of people will still go 'well only we're allowed to post our opinions about them because we're always right!1!1!'), or certain ship tropes (mentioned my hatred of toxic yaoi maybe once or twice on here months ago and people STILL get mad at me as if i said toxic yaoi lovers r evil or something), or certain ships, or WHATEVER, does not mean that i HATE the people who are posting them or that i think they shouldnt post them at all, NO, im just posting about my personal tastes on my personal blog and it would be extremely weird and hypocritical if i decided that i was the ONLY person that was allowed to do that,,
i think the only reason people assume that is because there are a lot of other people on here who ARE like that, and a lot of people toe the line between posting that they dont like something and posting that they think everyone who likes that thing is stupid, annoying, and wrong,, so i guess all i can say is, sorry for whatever made you make these assumptions but they arent true about me so plz leave me alone ʘ‿ʘ ur doing the same thing to me that ur accusing me of but i didnt do it in the first place so ur just actively being a dick for no reason

Some man on twitter took the opportunity of someone literally celebrating Ruth Bader Ginsburg's 90th birthday to push the "Ginsburg should have retired and this is her/Democrats' fault" line and unfortunately I have some time on my hands so you're getting this rant from me again.
First and foremost, putting the blame on a dead woman when there is a living man who is more directly responsible for losing control of the Supreme Court is profoundly stupid and while I doubt it's consciously misogynistic it does reflect a society that holds women responsible for everything.
I don't know how many times I can say this, but we didn't lose the court in 2020, we lost it in 2018 when Anthony Kennedy retired and Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed. A 6-3 conservative majority is certainly worse, but the Dobbs decision, for example, would have been the same.
You don't get to blame Democrats or Ruth Bader Ginsburg for the fact that you dismissed the importance of the Supreme Court in 2016. Whatever you think should have been done in 2014, you knew what the reality was in 2016. There was already an open seat on the Supreme Court during that election.
If Hillary Clinton had won in 2016, Antonin Scalia would have been replaced by a liberal justice, likely Merrick Garland, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg would have been replaced by another liberal justice. Anthony Kennedy would either have remained in his seat or been replaced by a moderate or liberal justice. The tentative 5-4 liberal majority we had prior to 2016 would have become a tentative 6-3 majority with a solid 5 liberal votes. This Supreme Court would not have overturned Roe and would not be threatening policies like student loan forgiveness and affirmative action. That is the court we would have if 50,000 people in three states had voted for Hillary Clinton.
Instead, Donald Trump appointed three Supreme Court Justices and there is a solid 6-3 conservative majority that will continue handing down horrible decisions that are nakedly political and barely even bother with constitutional justification. At the moment we're basically waiting for a couple of them to die and hoping there is a Democratic president and senate when it happens.
I think the position that Ginsburg should have retired in 2014 is heavily influenced by hindsight, but even accepting that it was a good idea, it's not as simple as people who began believing it in 2020 make it sound. First of all, I cite 2014 because Democrats lost control of the senate that year. This argument relies on Democrats seeing that loss coming. Even if they could do that, Democrats did not have filibuster-proof majority in the senate in 2014. At the time, senate rules required such a majority for supreme court confirmations. Harry Reid had only recently changed the rules to allow all other federal judicial nominations to be confirmed with a simple majority.
It's easy to forget now, but the level of Republican obstructionism during the Obama administration was unexpected. The rule change came about because there were so many judicial vacancies. Unfortunately, not all of them were filled even after the rule change, which allowed a number of Republican appointments during the Trump administration. I didn't have a position on senate rules in 2012-14 because I was in high school, but my position now is that I support ending the filibuster.
I think it's very clear that Republicans will simply change the rules to benefit themselves anyway the second they have power, so Democrats are not gaining anything by preserving the filibuster. However, I reached this position with the benefit of having observed Mitch McConnell's actions as Majority Leader between 2015 and 2019. Democrats in 2012-14 did not have that benefit. I don't know how predictable this Republican behavior was, but it's certainly not the same as having observed something that already happened. If Mitch McConnell had not already changed the rule for Supreme Court confirmations in 2017 in order to confirm Neil Gorsuch, I would have urged Democrats to do it in order to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson. But I don't know if it's fair to expect Democrats to have done so in 2014.
It's also worth remembering that the open politicization of the Supreme Court is fairly recent. It's been obviously political at least since the 1980s, but for quite a long time both parties kept up a pretense that it wasn't. It's easy to see why Democrats might not have expected Republicans to keep a seat open for an entire year rather than even give a Democratic nominee a hearing.
I think "in hindsight, things would be better if Ruth Bader Ginsburg had retired in 2014 and Harry Reid had changed the senate rules so Democrats could confirm a replacement" is a reasonable take. But it's academic. There's no point in assigning blame. And Democrats clearly did learn from this, because Stephen Breyer retired and was replaced by Ketanji Brown Jackson.
And, once again, whatever you think should have happened in 2014, we all went into 2016 knowing exactly what did and did not happen. Few people were saying Ginsburg should have retired at that time, and even those who were would not have been justified in not voting for Hillary Clinton, or discouraging others from supporting her, or downplaying the importance of the Supreme Court.

Currently obsessed with the thought that it's Q who won't promise monogamy to Bond. He doesn't say it to be cruel. He likes Bond very much. He genuinely enjoys his company over dinner and a glass of wine, which is far more than he can say for many of the men he's slept with. In fact, it's much more than that. Apart from having shagged a couple of times, they've become close friends too.
It's just that with Q's schedule, he's never been very good at long-term committed relationships. His work life has always been too busy for all that. He works odd hours and long shifts, and it's been impossible to make anything monogamous stick. Besides, Bond is out in the field most of the time. He sleeps with other people for work and he has a ridiculously high sex drive for a man his age (speed will do that to you). It's not always going to be possible for Q to meet his needs.
And Bond knows all of that is true. They see each other infrequently as it is. It would hardly be fair of him to cat around while Q remained a saint. Why shouldn't he go on a date and have a good time while Bond is out of the country? Q's there at the drop of a hat whenever Bond needs him--really needs him--so what's the matter with him getting his needs met when Bond's busy? Nothing.
That's what he tells Q, anyway, the minute Q mentions a date.
("Is that a problem?" Q asks, his brow furrowed.
"Of course not," replies Bond gently.)
Except there is a problem. A huge one, as Bond finds out months later, watching Q head off from MI6 on his third date in about six months. Because it stings. Bond has no right to be jealous. He'd slept with 008 in Tokyo only a few nights ago. It was good sex, but it was just sex. He wonders what Q is like when he's with other people; what the sex is like. Is it just sex? Or is it more than that? Does he feel a similar sting when he sees Bond with someone in the field?
Bond doesn't know why he's cursed with wanting monogamy when his life makes it impossible, but it's bloody infuriating that he does.
And it's also bloody infuriating he's managed to fall for a man who doesn't want a bar of it.

minors DNI!! 🔞 cw: self-confidence issues, SHIRTLESS HARVEY
It was hard to pin Harvey down. To get him to stay still in your presence, long enough that you could corner him, wrap your arms around him. This might have been your only chance, both of you staring into each other’s eyes, the palpable tension, thick in the air, almost pressing down on you. So you took it, lunging forward, pressing your lips to him. And for the briefest of moments, he kissed you back, before he pulled away, looking into your eyes with a quiet intensity you weren’t sure he was capable of.
“I won’t be offended… if it would be easier for you to just… kiss one side?”
You could feel your heart breaking as he spoke, the words coming with such familiarity, but still with difficulty, as though he spoke them so many times but still felt the sting when he repeated them to a new partner. And you knew you couldn’t take the pain away, but easing it was always possible.
With your hands on either side of his face, you warmed his cheeks with your palms, thumbs smoothing over the skin. He struggled to bring his gaze to yours but when he did, he softened, like you could feel the muscles in his body relax as he leant into the affection.
“No one does that… no one touches… they don’t look…”
The joy of being seen completely, each part of him equal, brought forth Harv, who slung his hands around your waist, fingers tugging at the back of your pants.
“You make me feel like I did before, you make me feel human.”
“Which is a damn shame, Harv, because I was hoping I might get a little bit of the animal in you.”
With a deep, hunger-led growl, he turned you around, pushing you against the wall where you balanced, staying put as he stepped back. With the confidence of his rougher counterpart at the front, he watched you, keeping his eyes trained on yours as he shrugged off his jacket, unbuttoned his shirt, pulling it from his pants and tossing it in the pile. His fingers slid down his front, half pale, half red and scarred, settling on his belt as he unbuckled it slowly. The slick sound of the leather being pulled through the loops, the way his pants fell, settling on his hips, his abdomen carved like romantic marble. You gripped at the wall behind you to keep you stable as you enjoyed the display, chewing your lip to keep the desperate moans pent up in your throat.
But as quickly as Two Face, and the confidence he brought with him, came, it slipped away, and Harvey stood before you, shoulders slumping as he tried to cover himself. Quicker than he could avoid your grasp, you had your hands on his chest, pectoral muscles twitching as they tensed below your touch.
“I love your body, Harvey. Everything you hate about it is what drives me crazy.”
The sincerity in your words stained your lips, and the kiss you pressed to him sealed the honesty, giving him a little bit of the bravery he lacked as just Harvey.
