She had to 𝗟𝗜𝗘 to herself to believe it wasn’t 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒆𝒓 that Nikolai 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱 . He was 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚏𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚢𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚜 𝚘𝚕𝚍 — she should have been 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐦 . She was supposed to be responsible . But the 𝖛𝖔𝖎𝖈𝖊𝖘 𝖎𝖓 𝖍𝖊𝖗 𝖍𝖊𝖆𝖉 were the sᴀᴍᴇ ᴠᴏɪᴄᴇs that he had been hearing ; and he was 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 , born with the 𝚜𝚊𝚖𝚎 𝚙𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚒𝚌 𝚊𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚜 𝚑𝚎𝚛 .
The revelation about their family was they had been born from a 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 borne of rich history since the 𝗉𝗂𝗅𝗀𝗋𝗂𝗆-𝗅𝖾𝖽 𝖬𝖺𝗒𝖿𝗅𝗈𝗐𝖾𝗋 𝖽𝖺𝗒𝗌 , which had landed their ancestors in 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒎 , which today was known as Danvers . That’s where 𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 people got the tale ᴡʀᴏɴɢ ; the actual trials has taken place in 𝖔𝖑𝖉 𝕾𝖆𝖑𝖊𝖒 𝖁𝖎𝖑𝖑𝖆𝖌𝖊 , and that’s why the 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔 of Salem Village moved — it hit a 𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚝𝚘𝚘 𝚌𝚕𝚘𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚘𝚖𝚎 . To the witches and those they 𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 to settle into the area , 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐦 had been a haven [ . . . ] until the 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 . She didn’t want to 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 in such things as 𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚢 , as 𝖋𝖆𝖙𝖊 . But she had been ʟʏɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ʜᴇʀsᴇʟғ ʟᴏɴɢ ᴇɴᴏᴜɢʜ . The images she 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 often took a 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚒𝚛 𝚘𝚠𝚗 — 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that would 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗲 and by the time she could do anything about it , it was too late and the 𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 . She was told by 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗧𝗘 that it was 𝖻𝖾𝖼𝖺𝗎𝗌𝖾 𝗁𝖾𝗋 𝗉𝗈𝗐𝖾𝗋𝗌 𝗐𝖾𝗋𝖾 𝗇𝗈𝗍 𝗁𝖺𝗋𝗇𝖾𝗌𝗌𝖾𝖽 . That there was a way to 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 , if that was 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 . There were others like her , with qualities 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 . And that this would have been 𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗶'𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗲 if he had ʟɪᴠᴇᴅ ᴘᴀsᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀɢᴇ ᴏғ ғᴏᴜʀ . That there could be only one 𝖕𝖚𝖊𝖗 𝖒𝖆𝖌𝖆 . And that the sacrifice wasn't her fault . At least not 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 .

Yeah I getcha. I was once like you. Pure and naive. Great news. I AM STILL PURE AND NAIVE, GAME DEV IS FUN! But where to start?

✨Cons: Those games sure are small. This is to make THE simplest game. Barely any animation for your sprites, can barely fit a line of text in there. But honestly, the restrictions are refreshing!

RPGMaker:
To make RPGs! LIKE ME!!!!!
NOTE: I recommend getting the latest version if you can, but all have their pros and cons. You can get a better idea by looking at this post.
✨Pros: Literally everything you need to make an RPG. Has a tutorial inside the software itself that will teach you the basics. Pretty simple to understand, even if you have no coding experience! Also I made a post helping you out with RPGMaker right here!
✨Cons: Some stuff can be hard to figure out. Also, the latest version is expensive. Get it on sale!

GameMaker: Wuh I just don't know anything about it either! I just know it's now free if your game is non-commercial (aka, you're not selling it), and Undertale was made on it! It seems good! You probably need some coding experience though!!!
Godot: Man I know even less about this one. Heard good things though!
BUNCHA RANDOM ADVICE!!!!
-Make something small first! Try making simple: a character is in a room, and exits the room. The character can look around, decide to take an item with them, can leave, and maybe the door is locked and you have to find the key. Figuring out how to code something like that, whether it is as a fully text-based game or as an RPGMaker map, should be a good start to figure out how your software of choice works!
-After that, if you have an idea, try first to make the simplest version of that idea. For my timeloop RPG, my simplest version was two rooms: first room you can walk in, second room with the King, where a cutscene automatically plays and the battle starts, you immediately die, and loop back to the first room, with the text from this point on reflecting this change. I think I also added a loop counter. This helped me figure out the most important thing: Can This Game Be Made? After that, the rest is just fun stuff.
So if you want to make a dating sim, try and figure out how to add choices, and how to have affection points go up and down depending on your choices! If you want to make a platformer, figure out how to make your character move and jump and how to create a simple level! If you just want to make a kinetic visual novel with no choices, figure out how to add text, and how to add portraits! You'll be surprised at how powerful you'll feel after having figured even those simple things out.
-If you have a programming problem or just get confused, never underestimate the power of asking Google! You most likely won't be the only person asking this question, and you will learn some useful tips! If you are powerful enough, you can even… Ask people??? On forums??? Not me though.
-Yeah I know you probably want to make Your Big Idea RIGHT NOW but please. Make a smaller prototype first. You need to get that experience. Trust me.
-If you are not a womanthing of many skills like me, you might realize you need help. Maybe you need an artist, or a programmer. So! Game jams on itch.io are a great way to get to work and meet other game devs that have different strengths! Or ask around! Maybe your artist friend secretly always wanted to draw for a game. Ask! Collaborate! Have fun!!!

i am minimalistic in my formatting , small text and double spaces but i tend to mimic my roleplay partners out of habit , please don't take it personally ! i change psds constantly , so nothing is ever consistent . i favor character development and worldbuilding , along with meaningful interactions between muns and characters . this being said , i am extremely picky and selective with who i write with and would only like to be mutuals with those who will write with me and reciprocate the energy .
there will be adult content found here , so my whole blog is on an ask to tag basis . please let it be known that i will not and refuse to write trauma porn surrounding bonnie . the show did that for 8 seasons , i won't put her through agony time and time again for your muse . please respect that . as much as i like dark content , i won't be putting it on bonnie too much unless i can vouch for you as a mun and we've plotted a lot . bonnie is going to get a happy ending if it kills me .
as for ships , i am against all pairings they put her with in canon . i want to explore romantic dynamics with literally anyone but enzo or jeremy . bonnie is a romantic , and deserves that deep and passionate love , so that'll be bass boosted here in my portrayal and i love platonic relationships as well , so don't hesitate to approach me with any kind of dynamic you think would fit .
do not god mod bonnie or hurt her extremely badly without permission . if we're writing a fight scene , please message me beforehand if we're going past some cuts and bruises .
PORTRAYAL NOTES
01 . my main verse has bonnie leaving mystic falls . where it falls in canon doesn't matter , as i can have her leave several times throughout canon storylines , but i prefer to have her exit within the season one to season two realm , as most of her time away is spent building endurance and strength as a witch . she has two mentors named diane and kianna ( aka dee and kie ) , who become parental figures for her after the death of her grams . dee and kie own a small supernatural bed and breakfast in their salem home .
02 . bonnie does not date jeremy gilbert at all . he has a one sided crush on her , but she explores the romance with luka martin instead . their untapped potential in the show left me wanting more , so for my portrayal they knew each other much longer than he appeared on screen . luka was a witchy short term relationship that she adores greatly and thinks of fondly when talking about an actual first love , and she misses him a lot . *
03 . most of my character inspirations and vibes for my portrayal of bonnie comes from the vintage halloween aesthetic , cozy fall vibes & halloweentown 1998 .
04 . her relationship with caroline & elena is very rocky . she keeps her distance after her grams died , and gets nervous getting involved with them again . she'll always love them , but loving them hurts her .
* 05 . if i were to explore the bonnie ! jeremy relationship , it would be through the lense of her settling for jeremy because she can't have elena . to me they had one of those codependent homoerotic girl best friendships that felt like a relationship to bonnie , and going along with my previous headcanon, it makes it difficult for bonnie to fully leave elena to the point where she has to go no contact for a little while , where she prods at that relationship with luka .

See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.
It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.
Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.
If you want more of something, reblog it.

My home internet has been basically non-functional since Sunday.
I called the internet people on Thursday. They said the issue should've been fixed by Friday morning. It wasn't. The issue they were talking about wasn't the problem.
I called again on the Friday. They scheduled to have someone come out on Tuesday.
I called the people that actually operate the service in my area and told them what was going on.
"Oh yeah, your service has been degrading for the past 2 years, there probably isn't much we can do to help. You might have to look for another provider."
The service hasn't been degrading for two years. It worked perfectly fine until October 1st.
There are no other providers in this area.
I've been in a perpetual anxiety attack since I got off the phone on Saturday. Everything that makes me happy other than my pets is connected to the internet somehow. Games, schoolwork, whatever.
I'm so scared of what's gonna happen if they show up tomorrow and can't fix it.
My family can't just go without internet. We all use it every day. But we can't keep using the service we have if it's at this level.
Any providers that there would be here would have the same issues, if not be worse entirely.
It might end up that I have to move out and live with one of my relatives in the city. That idea scares the hell out of me. Even though I hate living where I do right now, it's the only place I've ever called home. I don't wanna leave it, I don't wanna leave my pets and everything that's here.
I wanna just lay down and die.
I don't wanna lose my online friends. I wanna keep playing games and chatting with them every day. I want to be happy again.
My parents don't seem nearly as concerned as me. I don't want to talk to them about how I'm feeling about all this because I don't think they'll take it seriously.
I haven't gotten good sleep this week because of all this.
Even right now I'm on the verge of tears because I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow.
I don't wanna say goodbye to my friends. I don't wanna say goodbye to my pets.
I just wanna be happy.
