Moving Day ~

Today is what I've come to refer to as Moving Day. My time is up where I've been staying, so I had to pack up my car with all my valuables, clothes, food, and health supplies, then spend several hours in my car, until I can check in somewhere else and unpack everything. It's physically exhausting, and by the time I'm done (around 4pm) I'm gonna end up sleeping on & off until getting up for work on Monday. I really dread Moving Day, but it's my reality for now--and I'm very aware there are many people who don't even have shelter at all.

Normally, Moving Day falls on a Sunday, like today...but it's gonna fall on Wednesday (a workday) again this week, as I only have funds to stay until then (paying my motor vehicle tax has left me broke). After that, I'll be spending the night at work or in my car. So I'm posting this now in the hope of enough help to get me a few more nights before I have to do it all again. I'm left to rely on the kindness of both friends and strangers. Thank you in advance to anyone able to give a little bit of help and for signal boosting this plea!

(keyword almost. theyr still visible atp) #the way the scars r shaped is interesting bc theyre like a U shape. but bc of that when i inevitably build my pectoral muscles #the scars should blend into the shadow caused by thr muscle. i also dont have a Completrly flat chest bc im fat:0 #tbh my surgeon did rlly well . i have a lot of problems with him bc hes kind of a dick but from like. idk an artistic standpoint hes good #but the doctor standpoint hes Uhm. well i lost a nipple and had severe infection due to denied antibiotics and lack of aftercare #BUT. the lost nipple isnt visible and it looks normal now somehow AND. i didn't die from the infection so. I mean #i just had to spend christmas with a fever of 103 LMAO #HONESTLY THO i would do it again EVEN if i knew i would go thru hell bc this surgery fuckn saved my life holy shit #i didnt realize just how much i dissociated from my own body bc of dysphoria. now i feel more in touch with it and happy!:) #also now i can Eventually get that chest tattoo i wanted for like 7 years lmao #erm yippee:)

Do you know any sport's bra brands that would be a good substitute for a binder? My family situation is such that I cannot safety order one, and I have over a year left until I turn 18. I thought you might be a good person to ask, since your blog is a safe place for trans education.

I'd definenitely look into compression sports bras. I've seen some from Reebok, Underarmour, and a few other brands, and you might even be able to find a good one for you locally or in a "generic" section. If you get a compression sports bra, it may be able to provide a similar feeling to a traditional binder while still giving you the ability to keep yourself safe if you know for a fact that a traditional binder will not fly with your folks. I can't remember what brand I used for myself prior to actually getting a binder, unfortunately, but it wasn't a compression garment, so I layered two of them in my size, and it worked for me - if you can't get a compression sports bra, perhaps this could be an alternative. Each body is different, though, and while this method workered for me, it may be different for you.

Please remember that binding with a sports bra by no means means that regular binding guidelines won't apply to you. Listen to your body, especially if you are doing strenuous activity. Make sure you get one in your size if it is a compression garment. I wish you the best of luck in finding something that works for you and your body, you deserve it <3
