Do people on Tumblr just investigate every single blog that gives them a like?
Just curious because I see these posts angrily telling groups of people to not like their posts as a form of interaction... and I just have to ask if you're just checking out every single person who gives you a like to check to see their alignments?
Personally, I might see some familiar faces and think "hey, I know that person!" But I'm not going to see a like by someone I don't recognize, check out their profile, and then get super angry because someone from [insert group] had the audacity to like one of my posts.

Hot fucking take: You do not get to have this in your bio when you're a singlet actively starting arguements with systems about whether or not they're real.

look, i'm just saying:
if you're going to crosstag, then no matter who is in your dni, you need to be prepared for the community you're crosstagging to interact with you.
you can't just talk shit about us, post your negativity in our spaces, and then just expect all of us to stay quiet.
like, no.
if you're gonna spread misinformation, trash-talk us, or worse, we are going to speak out for ourselves.
we are not 'crossing your boundaries'.
you crossed your own boundaries the moment you decided to shove your harmful content into what's supposed to be our own safe-spaces. if there's anyone crossing boundaries here, it's you.

Seeing a lot of DNI list discourse in my feed today.
My two-cents:
There's nothing wrong with having a DNI list on your blog.
That said, most of us do not have the time or energy to vet blogs for every single post we interact with.
If someone interacts* with your post and you decide you don't want them to, for ANY reason, block them and move on.
Anything more than just blocking them (targeted harassment, callout posts, sending anon hate, whatever) makes you the asshole.
*if the interaction includes personal attacks, hateful additions/tags/etc, you can add a report to that block. This post was mostly in the context of surface level reblogs/likes/follows
Part of looking after your mental health is learning how to pick your battles. Spending a bunch of time investigating every internet stranger that crosses your path, and a whole lot of energy blasting the ones that you don't like, is the opposite of self-care.

Why do you have people who have "Minors DNI" on the same level of NSFW blogs? Not every adult who isn't comfortable interacting with minors has NSFW in their blog. I can understand maybe if the owner of this account is bodily a minor, not wanting people with "Minors DNI..." but it's still not fair to put them in the same category of NSFW blogs. Some people feel they have to distance from minors due to their neurodivergencies, like types of OCD and even triggers. /nm I have to distance from minors due to a mixture of things: triggers, OCD and autism making it hard for me to censor my speech.
On that note, do you know of any nd-culture-is blog alternatives?
For one we've responded to this question before, but tldr some mods are or were minors when brought on and this is an all ages blog so it's extremely hard to not break your own DNI well interacting as plenty of on and off anon asks are sent by minors.
As to why it's on the "same level" as NSFW blogs that was more for space/organization reasons then anything else. The DNI is not supposed to be read with levels, but just a list of people we personally don't want interacting with this blog. I apologize if seeing them side to side was hurtful for you, but it wasn't intended to say anything about the two together iirc.
If you go through our Boost tag there's a list of many other nd related blogs that might cover anything you have or want to follow!! I'd love to give you a specific list or smth more generic like us, but there's so many culture is blogs out there that I can't possibly find all of them or even most tbh. I recommend doing your own research for other nd blogs you can follow instead. /nm /gen

it's crazy the way people will have dnis and regularly violate their own criteria by interacting with individuals without confirming whether they're on it but if a person on their DNI interacts with THEIR posts without going out of their way to read their DNI then they're Violating Boundaries On Purpose

i've hinted at it but my official stance is either i'm fundamentally misunderstanding what y'all mean by "interact" or this is straight nuts

I finally found out the origin of the Sophie DNI banner... they made it because they were mad... that I interacted with someone else.
So, back in December, I did end up replying to a post with a tag that said "#endos don't clown." The OP, we'll call them System A, immediately told me to get off their post, and I didn't reply any further.
Then, another system reblogged my post replying to me. We'll call them System B. Now, I could have kept this in the reblogs, but I knew that continuing to talk to System B in the reblogs of System A's post would cause System A to get notifications. So I screenshotted System B's reply instead, and responded to it in another post.
Or to hear them tell it...
Tumblr media
System A apparently took great offense to me responding to System B's comments in my own post. And... here are some snippets of their reblog.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I ignored them.
Okay, that's not quite true. I wrote up a really rude draft that was basically mocking them for accusing me of being on their post because I chose to respond to System B's reblog that was directed to me in a way that couldn't possibly link back to System A in any way, shape or form.
Then I deleted that draft because it didn't seem productive to send, and I didn't really want to after I has time to cool off.
But this IS ridiculous.
Not everyone agrees on what interaction looks like. Personally, I think screenshotting what someone else writes doesn't constitute interaction as long as you edit out identifying details. And of course, anything that is sent to their notifications is interaction.
But this wasn't even a screenshot of System A's post, but System B's. System A's content wasn't screenshotted. System A's name wasn't mentioned. It was an original post so it didn't get sent to their notifications.
I have NEVER seen ANYONE suggest that screenshotting someone else is interaction.
Should I have interacted with the first post? Probably not. But screenshotting System B's post WAS NOT INTERACTION with System A's post anymore.
And their response to me interacting with someone else was to make a big DNI banner with my name and face. A banner which isn't even effective for preventing what made them upset in the first place, because nobody is going to look at that banner and conclude that screenshotting comments from other reblogs is interaction.
I'm sorry... this is just a really ridiculous situation.
You can't make boundaries that prevent people from interacting with someone else who reblogs your post in ways that are completely unrelated to you. So, no... I won't respect that boundary because it's an absurd boundary. It's right up there with that one anti-endo who decided that they own "object head sysmojis" and any pro-endos doing a similar concept was breaking their DNI.

Sigh.
As a reminder, some spaces just are not yours to be in, and that’s okay. I understand that, as a white person, I am not meant to be in certain POC spaces. I understand that, as an autistic person, I am not meant to be in certain spaces for individuals with other similar disabilities (and furthermore, I am not meant to be in certain spaces for higher-support autistics, as that is not my place).
And, similarly, endogenic plurals are not meant to be in certain CDD spaces.
This isn’t to say that there can’t be shared spaces - I literally own one shared space on Discord currently, and am in the process of creating another. But the fact of the matter is, people need spaces to discuss things specific to marginalized identities, and those needs may conflict with others.
I do not want endogenic plurals on my CDD specific positivity, because time and time again, my CDD specific posts have been rallied against, spoken over, or entirely dismissed by endogenic systems. That’s not harmful exclusion; it’s practicing self care and giving myself a space to discuss my oppression without other people unrelated to my experiences entering that space.
If a DNI offends you, you may simply move on. I don’t have a DNI on this blog for a reason, and I don’t tag any posts with DNIs because of the fear of harassment. Simply curate your experience without comment; calling someone an exclusionist prick for desiring a space to discuss their suffering simply makes you a radinclus prick.

Like I can completely understand not wanting to follow blogs that post NSFW, not wanting to get hit on, and not wanting people to put sexual captions on stuff they reblog from you. Draw a firm boundary about all that in your pinned as much as you want! Literally anything beyond that though is just being way too upset that someone out there is being openly sexual in a way that doesn't affect you at all.

ill never understand the "or post any of the above" in some peoples dnis. like how else would you be able to reasonably enforce this dni? most of the things you are describing are types of posts. that is unnecessary and confusing???
