WARNING OP LOVES COCK THIS POST IS ABOUT COCK. ITS SO GOOD AND BEAUTIFUL ❤️ GOOD MORNING TO PENISES EVERYWHERE
Tumblr media
I spun more of what's on the distaff--im starting to get a feel for how to draft from this. Decided to pull of a sample to see how it turned out--its quite worsted ! I dunno why but I was completely expecting a woolen yarn from this. Makes sense though, the fibers are pretty aligned the whole time.
Still a problem with tons of lumps and bumps though. The prep is the issue--I willowed it first and it wouldn't draft for shit, so I layered it onto a blending board after that and now it's much better, but still very inconsistent. Next I'll try processing on hand cards first. I wonder how wool is supposed to be processed for a distaff--surely not how I'm doing it ?

Sometimes, during events, you need to find alternative uses for your spinning equipment and make something funny... Maybe recreate a miniature?

If you get an opportunity to go through the British Library digitised manuscripts, don’t miss this one! So many hilarious and bizarre images!

I'm currently teaching myself how to spin yarn & I plan to make myself one of these when I'm more confident in my skills.

Do you have any tips for working with a distaff? Or are there any videos you recommend? I'm starting to get the hang of spinning, so now I'm starting to think about efficient ways to hold a lot of fiber at once. I seem to recall a post where you wrapped a ribbon around a distaff? Also, no pressure if this is a big ask, feel free to pass on answering
Tips: use one that isn't to heavy, you want to be able to grip it nicely in you handy (mine are almost all a bit to small so I poke myself with my nails, but it doesn't annoy me to mich xD)
Surface shouldn't be too rough or your fiber sticks to much to it.
There are MANY different ways to dress your distaff and it comes down to fucking around and finding out.
Do you work with a batt, or a roving. A wheel or a spindle??
So far i am most comfortable with a distaff if I use hand spindles, or gets awkward on the wheel for me 😅
This is a video about all the different ways to dress them with roving. It is in Germany but i think the movements are very good to see
youtube
(i reblogged a video about dressing a distaff with a batt, in the end it's just "fix your fiber to a stick")
Here you can see a bit about the spinning itself. With your distaff holding hand you controll the twist that wants to travel up, and with your other hand you spin the spindle
youtube
There are also wrist distaffs, but I never really worked with them, and can't tell you anything, but here is a video:

Another distaff attempt. This one was just a stick I found on the ground, that was naturally all wavy. I wanted to try a thin distaff to see if it would help with hand pain, and I thought the waviness might help keep the fiber attached. I debarked it and sanded it--will decorate it later once I know if it'll be a distaff or not.
I wound a partial batt on using a spare in progress icord (stuck the dpns into the fiber to keep it secure, actually works pretty well !). Only had 10 minutes or so to try it out this morning but I like it so far. Still a little heavy, but the waves are great for keeping the fiber in place, it hasn't slid at all so far. More updates to come, hopefully.

She pointed the distaff, extended the thread, and slid down it to the man's location.
