No, because people keep acting like Grace Chastity being consumed with a lust for the power that Lords in Black provided her doesn't count as a world ending Cataclysm - but it very much does. Not only has she shown little to no empathy for others throughout the entire show and only ever felt bad for lying to authority figures and being horny - but the final song of the Musical is essentially a reprise of Max's Murder Song/Manifesto which places her as a parallel to Max. Max sings about how he's going to kill ALL the Nerdy Prudes and not once but twice tells the audience that it doesn't matter if someone is actually a Nerdy Prude because he makes the rules and gets to decide who is or isn't a nerd etc etc. Grace's take is that she is going to kill all the Dirty Dudes but she's literally singing it to a guy who has, throughout the entire musical, done nothing to indicate he's a pervy/dirty dude and only kissed her after she asked him too. Like Max, Grace Chastity doesn't actually care if someone genuinely fits the framework of her stated victimology, because she has the power so she gets to make the rules.
Honestly it's like some people didn't think about the implications.
I love the mashups between Grace and Max's solos but the songs laid over each other never sounds coherent enough for me. So I made my own anyway here's "(Nerdy Prudes/Dirty Dudes) Must Die" sung as a duet.
"Are you hard because you're stressed/or is this a power I now possess" is a vaguely hilarious line because it kinda implies that Grace thinks that someone being turned on can only be achieved by making a dark deal with five eldritch beings as if she didn't have Max Jägerman thirsting after her in both life and vengeful afterlife throughout the entirety of npmd
Like, in the first pic we have Grace before her descent into madness, flanked by both Steph and Pete. This is the inciting incident that ultimately causes the rest of the show.
Then in the second pic Grace has fully lost it and become the cataclysmic event. She has completely betrayed her morals and her perception of the world has warped far beyond how it was in the beginning.
The stances mirror each other but also say so much about the character.
In the first one, her feet are touching, her other arm is flat, palm extended, against her side, and her hand is open and reaching into the air. Her shoulders are tilted from how far she is reaching into the air. What she’s doing shows how much, in this moment, she is simply a follower. She will betray her classmates because that’s what authority figures in her life expect of her.
Then, in the second pic, she’s in a wide stance, her fist is in the air, her other hand is clutching the black book (a parallel to the metaphorical and sometimes literal bible she had been clutching for her entire life before this point). She’s confident and has become more than just a follower of God, but His righteous hand.
Just. These two moments. The lighting, how they define the story, how these moments define the character. How she’s ALONE in the end. Not even Steph and Pete, who she was with for the core moments of the story and with her for most of the other moments that cause and show her descent, are with her. It’s not about Nerdy Prudes anymore, and only Grace and Grace alone care about ridding the world of Dirty Dudes (and hasn’t she since the beginning? Hasn’t she always cared about chastity and purity when no one else around her had? Wasn’t it those ideals that eventually lead her down this path? Was this always her fate? Was she doomed from the beginning?)
[id] Messages between Jason and Grace from Nerdy Prudes Must Die in their Homecoming outfits. The messages read:
Jason: "what are u trying to say" Grace: "go here" [Accompanying is a photo of a hand pointing into a greyscale void with the lights from The Summoning at the bottom.] Jason: "in the black and white?" Grace: "go in the black and white" [end id]

Grace Chastity already has it out for all horny men, let’s just pray she doesn’t have any gay thoughts or all women are gonna be wiped off the face of the Earth
