This analysis. Of course contains SPOILERS!

Careful LONG post!

1. The opening:

In the scene Wentworth already wears his Captain uniform. So we can assume this is actually the finale scene where they came back together. Also including Annes wish to return to Lime. Maybe the movie even starts with this scene? So going full circle in the end

2. A further proof this isn’t past but actually the ending of the movie. Is this moment below:

I am not a 100% sure but we see Sir Elliots back here and Wentworth doesn’t wear a captains uniform yet... so this could actually be the past. I am just wondeirng why he looks completly similar to his 8-years-later look... but anyway

3. Sir Elliot

They replaced the amount of mirrors he had in the book, leaving only one, with a huge amount of pictures of himself. He even looks at a picture of himself, when he says: “exquisite jawline.” The director probably thought the audience is too dumb to understand that he has a lot of mirrors to always see himself, and made it more obvious with a lot of pictures. You would be surprised but sometimes the audience like to think a tiny bit and not get EVERYTHING explained and being super obvious...

3. Little Charles

Little Charles heals extremly fast in this adaptation. He is already well again when Anne meets Wentworth for the first time after 8 years. This also explains this picture:

I guess the paper hat Charles wears is a reference to the 1995 movie (if the directors made an effort to watch that movie), which means the captain probably showed him how to make that hat. Even though we still do not have any news IF the captain and his wife will be in the adaptation.

But this also means... we will again not get the scene where Wentworth saves Anne from the children being all over her...

4. Charles

I think Charles is a cutie and i will not accept any critique on that point. BUT remeber the guy in the BTS pics having a walking cane? It is Charles. See below:

I know they tried to capture Marys: “I only care for myself”-attitude with that scene. But instead of being always ill and wanting all attention, this comes off bitchy imo. Which she was... but not like that. More like the scene in the 1995 adaptaion where everyone is happy to go to the beach and she whispers: I hate the beach”

6. Too early, part 1

This scenes all belong together. They just meet, at this point Anne shouldn’t be able to look at Wentworth... or leave alone talk with him

7. Too early, part 2

When Anne screams Wentworths name he is the Great House, i think? Why is she screaming his name?! Again, Anne shouldn’t be able to do that

This is definitly in Lime. So we have Anne standing dramatic on the beach without a blanket. Wentworth bringing her a blanket. Them having a heartful conversation. “I didn’t know if I’d ever see you again”. Here you can see the blanket on her should while Wentworth is standing by her side. Connection the different pictures with eachother. Wentworth leaves. Looking sadly at her. Anne having they - CENSORED - line and looking away, not noticing Wentworth looks at her.

But why do they have such a deep conversation? is that supposed be them accidently ending in the “friendzone” by being honest with eachother? But why? WHY? This is not how any of this works

9. Elliot/Wentworth face off

This is honetly a scene I am excited for. Jealous Wentworth who directly confronts Mr. Elliot while the others are still around.

The conversation goes: “Can I help you with something?” “Considering what I’d like help with, probably not” Already giving his evil nature away, right away. The dircetors really thought their audience is dumb and need everything explained right away. Subtext? We do not know her

10. Wentworth will write the letter. We already see it in the trailer

If the guy next to Anne is Harville, they are having their “who forgets faster?”-talk and Wentworth writes his letter. Consering how sad Anne looks, they probably had a fight to justify why Wentworth writers a letter in an adaptation where they talk so much with eachother. And that is the dress Johnson wears in the BTS pictures where she is kissing the actor of Wentworth

Ishaku Takwa, the Acting Deputy Dircetor, Army Public Relations of the 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos, disclosed this at a news conference on Saturday in Jos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that on Aug. 14, suspected gunmen killed a newly married couple, one Rwang Danladi, 37 and his wife, Sandra, 28. The couple, both teachers of BECO Comprehensive Secondary School, Kwi, were killed when gunmen stormed the school on the fateful day. Takwa explained that the suspect was arrested on Nov. 18, in Tafawa community of Barkin Ladi, following the resilience and commitment of the troops. ”You will recall that in August, gunmen forced themselves into BECO Comprehensive Secondary School, Kwi, and killed a couple, who are both teachers in the school. ”We commenced investigation and arrested one Lukman Aminu, who has been on our wanted list over numerous criminal offences. ”He was arrested at Tafawa village in Barkin Ladi and has since confessed to committing the crime. ”We are on the trail of the remaining attackers and they would be brought to justice soon,”he said. Jobb mint a Lorne Shore??? Halljam!!!

Néhány hete olvastam az egyik zenei oldalon egy érdekes, ám erős lemezismertetőt egy ausztrál Deathcore együttesről, akiknek február 24-én jelent meg az új lemezük, Dircetor’s Cut néven. Nem igazán ismertem az együttest (eddig), viszont a cikk írója egyenesen a mennyekbe magasztalta a bandát, és az egyik kedvenc idézete sok kérdést és egy WTF(what the f**k)-reakciót váltott ki nálam. Ez pedig az volt, hogy a lemez megeszi reggelire a Lorna Shore 2022-ben megjelent Pain Remains lemezét, amely szerintem a 2022-es év egyik legjobbja lett. Nyilván nem lenne szabad bedőlnöm az ilyen clickbait-szagú ismertetőnek, de furdalt a kíváncsiság, másrészről meg az egyik olvasónk elég bátran a védelmébe vette a lemezt (mert szólásszabadság, vagy valami hasonló a közösségi médián… na mindegy).

Elkezdtem olvasni a cikket és közben belefüleltem a lemezbe is, hogy lássam, tényleg jobb-e mint a Lorna Shore.

A zenére később térnék ki, előtte legyen némi infó a bandáról. Ahogy említettem, a To The Grave egy ausztrál Deathcore banda, akik 2010-ben alakultak, habár a debütáló albumuk 2019-ben jelent meg, Global Warning címen. Az igazi WTF azonban akkor jött, amikor azt olvasom a bandáról, hogy mindegyik tagja vegán, állatvédő és aktivista. Itt már be is igazolódott a sejtésem, hogy ez a lemez miről fog szólni, és igazolast nyert a gyanúm, amitől tartottam. Itt azért azonnal megjegyezném! Nem vagyok vegán-ellenes, jómagam is állatbarát vagyok, de ahogy hallgatom a lemezt, és olvasom az infókat róla, egyből leesik, hogy igaz, nem erőteljesen és extrém szélsőségesen (bár ez nézőpont kérdése, ha a banda klipjeit veszem szemügyre és magát a zenét), de kaptunk egy vegán-aktivista-propaganda lemezt. Igen…. bizony… A banda tagjai ugyanis az alapján a koncepció szerint készítette el a lemezt, hogy az ember a legkegyetlenebb élőlény a világon, és mindent elpusztít (gondolnak itt a bolygó növény és állatvilágára). Ezzel egy bizonyos szinten egyet kell hogy értsek, mi, emberek, tényleg kegyetlenek vagyunk, de azért csak egy szűk keresztmetszeten keresztül, és egyoldalúan véleményezni egy társadalmi problémát? Nem írták meg alaposan a házi feladatukat… De ezt ennyiben is hagynám!

Lássuk magát a zenét, miután kidühöngtem magam, és felháborodásom is alábbhagyott. Ha stúdiótechnika szinten kell néznem a dolgot, akkor azt kell mondanom, minden elismerésem! Nagyon korrektül és modernül szólal meg az anyag, és a dalok is rendesen fel vannak építve tematikailag, mint ahogy az mostanság elvárnánk egy modern Deathcore együttestől. Ellenben lenne pár hizzáfűzni valóm és észrevételem. Az egyik, hogy a lemez néhol túlzóan a gitárok mélyhangzására fókuszál ahelyett, hogy egyensúlyban lenne a dalokkal. És ez picit sok nálam, rengeteg új Deathcore banda itt ássa el magát előttem. Imádom a mélyre hangolt gitárokat, de sokszor azt tartom szem előtt, hogy mennyire passzol a zenéhez, és jelen helyzetben a koncepcióhoz. Lehet, ez most túlzás lesz részemről, de a Suicide Silence nemrég megjelent lemeze, a Remember… You Must Die ennél sokkal jobban adta a stílushoz illő hangzást, lehet, talán azért, mert organikusabban szólalt meg (és picit nosztalgikusan), mint a Director’s Cut. Említve voltak még a fentebb említett cikknél, hogy felfedezhőtek benne Nu Metál elemek is a lemezen. Ezt részben igaznak is találom. A Found Footage-ben és a Protest & Sever nótákban hallható rappelés, és néhány hip-hop-os elektronikus és Groove elem is, de sokszor úgy érzem, hogy többségében a Meshuggah-szerű ritmikák, és Emmure-s Breakdown-ok dominálnak a lemezen, némi Noisecore színezéssel.

Azért itt is talál az ember gyöngyszemet, amire épp felkapja a fejét, hogy, „Ez nem is rossz!”, mint például a Red Dot Sight, aminek a refjénje elég dallamos és erőteljes, vagy az Axe of Kindness igazán figyelemreméltó intrója, ami igaz, egy picit a korai Shadow of Intent-et idézte meg bennem, és a Cut Off The Head szimpla kezdő riffje (STP – Bratva kópiának hívom)is remek lett. Azonban a többi dal, legalábbis az én ízlésvilágom mércéjével mérve „egynek elmegy” kategóriájúak. Lehet, ez már a korral jár… Még talán a Found Footage-ot tudnám a kedvenceim közé sorolni, de a klipjétől viszont szabályosan a hajam égnek állt. Abban ugyanis adott egy tenyésztelep, ahol birkákat tartanak. Három fiatal aktivista épp arra készül, hogy kiszabadítsa szegény állatokat. Készülnek az éjszakára, hogy betörjenek egy ilyen helyre, mindent gondosan megterveznek (még vitatkoznak is, hogy legyen benne dráma), az egyik még egy pisztolyt is eltesz… Betörnek a telephelyre, de a helyett üresen találják. Erre benyit valaki a tanyára és az aktivista lelövi. Később, mint kiderül, a gazda tinédzser fia az, és kétségbeesésükben az aktivisták futásnak erednek. Azonban a gazda felkapja a puskáját és telibe találja az egyiküket, akit később a két női társuk húz el a kocsijukig és ott zokognak, miközben a háttérben látható a rendőrautók fényei. Nem tudom, hogy ez igaz történet akart lenni vagy sem, de ennél a klipnél levontam azt a tanulságot, hogy ha aktivista is vagy, ne nyomd fullba a kretént, mert ráfázol. Betörés, fegyverviselés és emberölés? Vajon hány évet kaphatnak szegények, akik csak néhány haszonállatot akartak kiszabadítani? Lényegtelen, mert elkalandoztam…

Összességében a Director’s Cut egy elég korrekt lemez, a Deathcore szintéren megállja a helyét, és a bandatagok zenei tudását sem lehetne kétségbe vonni semmilyen körülmények között. Érződik is a lemezen, hogy ez részükről elég komoly dolog, amiben nagyon is hisznek. Ezt maximálisan elismerem és tiszteletben is tartom! Azonban a szememben nem több, mint egy Ingested/Distant utángyártott banda, hangzásban és szerkezetileg is. A lemez igazi extravaganzája az, hogy egy félig-meddig propaganda, állat-aktivistás embert pusztító lényként akarták megformálni. És ez részben sikerült is. Csak ahogy említettem, nem csinálták meg a házifeladatukat! Igen az ember egy komplex, gonosz és pusztításra hajlamos teremtmény. De nem csak a növény és az állatvilág felé ilyen. Sokszor kifelejtjük, hogy önmagunkra, emberekre is veszélyesek vagyun. Háború, mészárlás, gyilkosság, nemi erőszak, traumatizálás/lelki terror. Minden elképzelhető szinten, és módszerrel gyilkoljuk egymást saját egónk, vagy valamiféle magasabb társadalmi rendű dologért, aminek sosem lesz vége, és sosem lesz megnyugvás az emberek között.

A lemez propagandasága az, ami miatt ez a lemez nálam egy kicsit kibukott, habár adtam neki még néhányszor esélyt, és valamilyen formában el is kerülte nálam azt, hogy csunyán lepontozzam. Végezetül még csak annyit tennék hozzá: A Lorna Shore Pain Remains lemezét még szerintem nagyon sokáig egy Deathcore banda se fogja felülmúlni. Lehet, hogy én gondolkodom rosszul, de azért alaposan végig kéne hallgatni a Pain Remains-t, és utána ezt a hanganyagot.

Lehet, hogy csak a változatosság iránti vágy beszél az emberből, és még az is hogy a banda nem kicsit lett meghype-olva a médián keresztül, de ez a zeneipar. Ez mindig így fog működni. Úgyhogy ennyiben is hagynám a dolgot, remek kivesévézés volt ez a részemről.

Remélem találok még ilyen cikkeket és bandákat, akiket ízekre tudok szedni (HEHE)! Pecae!

The picture above shows the editor (Tarunya) getting ready for the clap-in while the Dircetor (Prisha) stands behind the camera and instructs the cinematographer (Veer) during the shooting of the pad king pot scene.

The above picture shows me setting up the location for the pantry scene m. I put props like mugs, cups and silverware in positions of the pantry ay they would be in a school pantry. The pantry scene was one of the most crucial scenes since it was the location where the characters Tina and Aaryan would hear the gunshots.
