So many hours it took me to complete the newly invented double knit twisted rib bind off on this cowl! The bind off was developed for me by a member of one of my fibre communities and they did such a fantastic job as it is stretchy and completely matches the invisible cast on. I put it over a pool noodle raft to block so it will dry nice & smooth all the way around.

blah blah blah call miles spider-man ! they do and he is but the problem outside of the actual comic book universe is that fans are not going to know who you’re talking about if you just call him spider-man bc peter parker has been spider-man for the last 70 odd years so yeah if u just say spider-man everyone’s going to assume you mean peter parker the same way if you say batman ppl will assume bruce wayne even tho terry mcginnis and thomas wayne and dick grayson have all been batman bc bruce is the guy under the cowl 999,999 times out of a million or how each generation of power rangers is called something new (mighty morphing, dino thunder, jungle fury, ninja storm, mystic force, samurai, etc) to differentiate the teams from each other, even other spider-men have special name designations to differentiate them from peter parker like scarlet spider (ben reilly), superior spiderman (doc ock in peter’s body), hell even mcu spiderman or tasm spider-man to differentiate between live action iterations until there is something in miles’s spider-man title that differentiates him from peter parker’s spider-man ppl are going to keep call him miles morales or miles’s spiderman so that you know who the hell people are talking about !!!!!

Dick: he's ugly and we as a fandom need to accept it, it's fine... literally every other guy dc draws is ugly too

He will never be as good as ntt Dick and that kind of annoys me. I miss him being a bit of a mess, i know the ric arc just happened but like idk, i just want him to stay awake for 3 days straight and get shot or something.

Idk my other unpopular opinion is that I don't think he undermines other characters simply by existing. I've seen him accused of undermining Damian's relationship with his parents, but yeah, no, I think Bruce's writers are doing it to themselves, and Talia's writers are racist so like how is that Dick's fault? He can be a cool big brother/mentor and Damian can still have other good familial relationships. He can be written as balanced to Barbara instead of undermining her position in the family (Dixon's run is a good example) and I don't think he undermines Cass's chances at being Batman because let's be real. Even if Dick was dead, they'd give it to loosely affiliated to the batfam man #27493 instead of Cass 😞 which really freaking sucks.

I also don't think he's hated by DC. He was hated specifically by Dan Didio, and boy does it show (i was rereading whatever crisis it was and my god Dick was def supposed to die), but I think most writers love him and think they're doing their best by him, which is why I theorize a lot of his character flaws have dissapeared (they love him and think he's perfect and don't want to show him as not perfect).

Damian: I don't think he ruins Talia's character (again I think the writers do that good enough themselves), and I like the idea that Talia tried secretly giving him up for adoption and thought he was free of this life, because actually that's incredibly noble and mature of her and tragic and would make a great story and DC please do a good retelling of son of the demon and make it canon-

I haven't actually read a lot of Damian's comics yet because uh i got stuck looking at Batman Incorporated and wanted to do things in order and I don't know 😭 i don't want to see it (but i need to because i like knowing things). So idk i guess i don't have much else.

Oh other than he's not "evil" for pushing Tim off a dino. Nah i don't understand why people take that scene so out of context - like ppl try to make such a big deal out of it but to Damian it like, wasn't personal? He didn't hate Tim in particular he legit just went "oh this is like home i have to kill him to beat the level" and caught Tim slipping.

Tim: Look I just don't like him after reading his comic run. Unpopular opinion: he's good at school and life in general. Like really good. He was being considered for a pretty hefty scholarship before he moved from Bludhaven back to Gotham, he's popular without even trying, and girls pretty much throw themselves at him at the drop of a hat. Bruce does better with him then most other Robins. Despite Jack being an idiot both him and Dana love him and are make efforts to connect with him. Pretty much the entire world in his comic revolves around him. He's a chad, not a loser. And he's also the most sexist robin stop pinning that on Damian, Damian has 2 throwaway lines, with Tim it's a pattern.

Another unpopular opinion: I legitimately think they made Tim the smart one tm because they didn't know what else to do with him and had to set him up as an equal for conflict with Damian and so he could throw his hat in the ring in Battle for the Cowl. I don't actually think it was done for the advancement of his character, I think they desperately needed something to put him on equal footing with the others, and it ended up making him more boring imo, and I think he should go back to being a gifted but otherwise normal kid because yes i found that boring too, but with good writing that's an idea that has potential

Ngl i disregard almost all canon when writing Tim and use him as a self insert, he just does what I would do and thinks like me 🤷‍♀️

Dino’s Weird Thoughts. Again.

I just realized something that I should have known but I also have a theory.

This suit here (Nomad Suit) is the same one from Civil War.

Now hear me out!

Clearly you see he had no other suit to wear and so he wore what he had which was his Civil War suit. Now you notice that he’s missing his silver star on his chest. That can be two things. 

ONE It’s over-worn and it just happened to rip off.

TWO Or He knew from what he did from being America’s true hero to being a world-class criminal and he knew there was no other way to symbolize his country and serve no longer as Captain America to them. He tore off the symbol of his heroic and trust from the country and so that’s how his suit was different from Civil War in Infinity War.

His cowl didn’t show in Infinity War because he knew he was no longer an Avenger. But in Endgame when Tony had given him his shield back, he knew they still needed him. A fight of their lives, he gained his symbol back. And become worthy because he was willing to stand back up to defend the world.

But! Before I start talking about this boi, I want to say something to all people that by now probably want to write "But he's incorrect!"

I know that Dilophosaurs actually didn't have this Cowl, was more like a greyish color and had feathers, and this is based on Jurassic Park's Dilophosaurs, which looks incorrect to the facts. But I really like how Dilophosaurus looks in this series, so I wanted to base this character on it.

I had trouble with the name, so I choose the first word that came to my head and changed some letters

An entirely new bind off had to be developed for double knit twisted rib. I am so very grateful to a particular member of my fibre community would spent ages figuring out this bind off for me. It’s kinda evil (but not as evil as a previous iteration) and achieves the same stretchyness & look as the invisible cast on. I’m gonna have to be careful with my tension when sewing the edge together because too tight tension on the purls causes the back fabric to pop through the front as tiny dots.

Later this week I’m going to do this tedious process again on the dino cowl.

Here is a list of what me and @julayla decided on what kind of dinos would the Septarians we know have. The dinos and prehistoric animals of Septarsis are seen as hunting companions, mounts and even battle companions, fighting with their masters side-by-side.

toffee: Velociraptors (7 in total, named Lucifer, Lilith, Belphegor, Mammon, Akuma, Beelzebub and Leviathan)

Rasticore: Carnotaurus (Named Deathlok)

Ripjaw: Spinosaurus (Named Sharko)

Miseria: Baryonyx (Named Priscilla)

Anya: Allosaurus (Named Kylo)

Aerosmite: Pterodactyl (Named Flash)

Kanashimi: Dilophowolf (A Clydesdale-sized dire wolf with some scales, reptilian eyes and a dilophosaur's cowl. Named Chase)

Seth: T-Rex (Named Magmakith. And it can control fire and lightning)

Blue Beetle hangs on to the whipping rope with a vice grip. Who would have guessed this morning that he’d wrestle with a robotic T-Rex at the end of the day and lose! The number of jokes that roll through his head directly referencing the Jurassic Park film is unbearable when he can’t vocalize them. This has to stop before his brain implodes.

“All,” swish, “right,” woosh, “you,” zip, “overgrown,” fwoosh, “lizard!”

From his trusty utility belt, he produces a taser with the voltage strong enough to put down a mammoth. If this doesn’t fry the robot’s circuits, what will!? With an anxious gulp, Ted turns on the taser and whips at the T-Rex’s eye. At the explosion of electricity lights the air, Ted releases his grip on the rope. A 8.5/10 tuck ‘n’ roll, Ted lands with a grunt on the ground. He has a front-row seat to the extinction of the modern-day Tyrannosaurus Rex, spared no expense. 

The ground shudders as the robot hits the ground and Ted follows suite, collapsing onto his side. “Talk about a dino-mite day.” Dead silence is incredibly worse than Fyre’s painful punch to his shoulder. He sits up, tugging off his goggles and cowl. “Okay Theodore, channel your inner Green Arrow and let’s get off this crazy island.” He gazes around the forsaken forest, his shoulders slumping in defeat. Ted stumbles back on to his feet, mumbling under his tired breath, “Carson, I want you to hear it from the ass’ mouth, yes I did indeed forget the keys to the Bug in my other pants. To think a guy with an IQ of 192 and he even forgets his car keys. Thank you, thank you, I’m here all night, Johnny.” Ted looks up to the setting sun, “All freakin’ night.”
