yesterday i hid but today i will confront life and the projects that i've been procrastinating on lately, i'm learning color theory and typography, as well as overarching design principles. it seems plausible that i can design beautiful things but that i have to take the time to learn the theory behind them, as well as practice again and again, the same way that i spent a lot of time writing bad poetry before writing whatever sort of poetry that i write now. it doesn't feel like great poetry but it's good enough to feel proud of some of the things that i've written i've been designing posters for my bedroom but i can tell that the shapes and colors that i use aren't where i want them to be. i realized while talking to m that i have a good number of writer friends and acquaintances but that i'm really lacking in people that i can bounce design ideas off of. i think that's how i always learn in the end: just keep soaking in information, practicing, and sharing my work until i feel a spark. but there is still a while to go before feeling that spark in my digital design... but experimenting is the fun part. frustrating, due to my own self-criticism, but fun. developing a craft feels like sharpening a blade, in the way that you can see the gradual progress in a visceral way tl;dr: learning anything takes practice. be the turtle > hare, even if the hare seems to be having more fun

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

Lullaby For The Time Devourer

The Pattern: YRGBKW

Dragon Emblem

The musical bar on Lullaby For the Time Devourer accurately features the seven notes played through magic in the darkness beyond time in order to unlock the true ending.

I hadn't initially planned to do YRGBKW, but that shape works much better for stickers and buttons than the proportionality necessary for Lullaby. It's also kind of the overlap between the other two designs, so it felt like I should get them all up at the same time.

The symbols alongside each spoke of the elemental wheel on Dragon Emblem correspond to the sigils at the foot of the crystals in Fort Dragonia—these are just barely visible on the medallion in-game, so I had to do it right!
