Ok story time bitches.

So my cousin is having a small wedding which means no one was invited to her marriage. Only the locals, immediate family, and few rare family members who lived in the city. 

So, the concept of small wedding sent major shockwaves throughout the family. Since all the mousi’s weren’t invited everybody had shit to say:

" Yeh kaisi shaadi hai"

"Shaadi hai ya mazak"

"Covid thodi hai jo nhi bula rhe kisiko bhi"

Like guys it's a small wedding. The bride and groom don't want relatives they are not close to. That's understandable. Ab zaruri thodi hai sab apne papa ke chache ke mause ke bhai ko bulayenge kyunki ek bar bachpan mai unhone diaper change kiya tha? I mean if I ever choose to have a small wedding I won't invite the mausis either? We don't talk at all. I haven't seen any of the mausis since I was like 10 years old. 

Upar se my dad took it so personally. My nanu is living with us temporarily and he was invited to the wedding which is why i think out of obligation, my mother was invited too. So tickets were booked and arrangements were made but then my dad got so pissed because of the concept of the wedding he was like this is not a wedding, it’s a joke. Since we live in a patriarchy, my mother got convinced and she talked with the other mousis and cancelled the tickets. 

My dad went on for hours talking about how marriage is not just an union of two people but two families and that the wedding is not about them. Okay but it’s not about you either? Why are everybody acting like those tough tauji’s who take all te arrangements at the wedding seriously and get mad about everything ruining the atmosphere for everybody? 

You all are simply mad because you weren’t invited and your feelings got hurt because ohh poor baby no one is making you feel respected and here you are- someone who spent his whole life making everybody else feel respected. 

I mean I am all for di man. All her life everybody shamed her for being fat and difficult and were on her ass to get married. But the beautiful woman she is, she refused to give into the pressure and now at 38, she found someone she wants to be around with and is getting happily married. Whatever she wants to do, she can do. Yes, it’s union between two families too. But the whole wedding can’t be about you, na. 

Why can’t you be happy in her happiness? She finally gave into your views and believes and is getting married. Just let people be man
